Determined to wear the Welsh wig and scarf that I commissioned from knitting friends over a year ago, and figure that camouflage for my N95 and natural hair color (taking a break from the bleach) are a good way to debut both pieces at Dragon Con.

Silly question but did you make your Crozier cosplay hat??? I really do love it.

Thank you, and I sure did! It's a modified Greek Fisherman cap, made from wool, with a leather brim & chinstrap, mohair hat band, and silk lining. It's still a bit small, imo, but the next time, I should get it right. :)

This is the pattern I tweaked for the body and I drafted my own brim. I resized the hat so the main band would fit my head exactly:

So, this weekend was an alpha test for makeup - because of the mask mandate, I didn't bother doing the lower half of my face.

But, I had a lot of fun with a wind/cold-burnt look on my cheekbones! Definitely a fan of alcohol activated makeup.

Quite happy with how the slops coat turned out - only thing I didn't have time to do were the belt loops.

I have no idea how the sleeves are gathered in the show, so I put in the fastest set of drawstrings one can do by hand last night.

Yes, it is hot with the peacoat underneath, but I am a Florida boy, born and bred, and did marching band, to boot. I was born to suffer, but I also know how to stay as comfortable as possible in heat.

This is where I off road. I knew I wanted to wax this for a grubbier, slightly oiley sheen. I still have more overall weathering layers to do, but the patina is fun. I'm not really gonna wreck this - just want to make it feel like it's seen a few seasons of bad conditions.
