"Abolish cringe culture!" until it's band/art/choir/drama kids, moms on TikTok, people on dating apps, adults without jobs, adults that still live with their parents, kids using internet slang, beginner artists (in music and drawing), awkward texters, people with bad hygiene, fans of popular media, the list goes on.

Cringe culture isn't just about fandom culture, or people that use terms like XD and rawr. It's about making fun of a group of people that isn't actively doing harm solely because you deem them "embarrassing". Don't say you dislike cringe culture if you stop at what YOU deem as cringe. Normalize doing whatever you want on the internet, as long as it's not hurting anybody there's no reason for you to be made fun of for it.

I feel like we as a society need to come to the realization that the “r/fakedisordercringe” phenomenon was just normalized casual ableism against neurodivergent teens that for some reason, (some) neurodivergent individuals not only let slide, but also condoned and participated in. I can’t help but wonder how different the ND community would be if it wasn’t for this.

Honestly I think the absolute dumbest argument in favor of cringe culture I see is people actually claiming it's healthy??? like what??? Being in absolute denial that you enjoyed something in the past or in the present just because other people dislike it and blatantly bully people because of it is- just glamorized self-hatred. Your interests are a part of you whether you like it or not. The best way to deal with that is to acceptance! Isn't acceptance always a good way to cope? I thought that was common sense. I just watched the first 4 episodes of Hazbin Hotel, and despite what people who DIDN'T EVEN WATCH IT think, I'm letting everyone know that I like it! Why? Because expressing my interests makes me happy! I know that a lot of people don't like Vivziepop, which is 100% understandable, but just because you don't like her work doesn't mean you should make other people who like it stray away from the things they like. Trust me I was literally told to kms because of a drawing of an undertale character that my friend gave me when I was 11 and that effected my mental health greatly. Not to mention I'm an autistic person and undertale happened to be a BIG PART of my life and who I am now so it genuinely felt like a personal attack. In conclusion, cringe culture, no matter what form it takes, isn't good!!! You should take pride in yourself AND your interests!!! Don't shame other people for their (harmless) interests, either!!!

Cringe culture was made to bully kids, queer people, neurodivergent people and people deemed unattractive by society (such as fat people or people with features deemed societally unattractive), literally most of the shit that's deemed cringe is just these four groups of people enjoying their interests, so what if people enjoy their interest in a way you deem weird, they present in a way different to you or have an interest deemed childish? They literally aren't harming anybody by having an interest. Let people enjoy things and explore themselves and leave queer people, kids, neurodivergent people and people deemed unattractive by society the fuck alone.
