unknown girlfriend // spencer reid
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a/n : it’s been so long since I’ve been on tumblr, I’m forgetting how everything works.
synopsis : spencer has a secret girlfriend, that the others don’t know about, until she shows up at their door.
Tumblr media
“WHEELS UP in 30.”
Hearing the familiar phrase that indicates their leave, Spencer gets up from the round table and lets out a sigh, making his way over to his desk.
Emily, Morgan and JJ follow after, and smile in amusement at their residential genius. “What’s wrong, pretty boy?”
“Nothing. Why?”
Spencer furrows his brows as the three members surround his desk curiously, while JJ shrugs. “We just noticed you’ve been a bit different lately.”
“What do you mean?”
Emily smirks as she leans against the edge of his desk and tilts her head. “Well, let’s see. First, it’s the inconsistent timing of your arrival into the office.” She begins, and Spencer clears his throat. “There’s been construction on my road lately, guess it’s hard to make it here on time.” He defends and Derek chuckles.
“Okay, then what about your constant texting and smiling at your phone all the time?” Derek grins, bringing his coffee to his lips as Spencer huffs. “I’ve been looking into facilities appropriate for my mom and found some really nice ones recently.”
Unconvinced, JJ then adds, “you’ve been in such a rush to get back to your desk and phone, and in a rush to get off the plane first thing when we come back from a case, first one to head home,” she continues and Spencer stammers at her words. “I’m just really excited to get back into my apartment is all.”
“Look, all we’re saying is, it seems you have a little pep in your step~” Derek gives a little shoulder dance as Emily and JJ giggle. “Come on, Spence, we’re just teasing. But based on all of that, I’d say you have a little girlfriend as of late. When can we meet her?”
“Profiling me, I see..” Spencer mumbles as he leans down in his chair, making the three smile while Derek ruffles his hair. “Hey, we’re happy for you anyways. Proud of you, kid.” Derek smirks as Emily laughs, getting up from Spencer’s desk and looks to the door instinctively.
“Oh? Who’s that?”
The laughter ceases as the four agents look to the door, seeing a young woman, holding a cup of coffee in her hands, and talking with Anderson.
Spencer’s eyes widen when he sees her and a smile unknowingly forms on his lips as he quickly gets up.
“Excuse me, do you know where I can find Dr. Reid?” You ask softly and Anderson smiles kindly and turns over to the bullpen just as Spencer starts walking over.
“Oh- he’s on his way.” Anderson chuckles and you smile gratefully, nodding. “Thank you.”
Anderson nods in return and walks away, just as Spencer wraps his arms around you tightly, giving you a quick spin out of excitement.
Unable to contain the giggle that escapes your voice, you carefully hold the cup. “Careful, baby, I’m gonna spill-“ Spencer brightens his smile as he sets you down and looks at your hands. “You didn’t-“
“Yep!~” You cheerily hand over the cup and wink playfully at him. “The usual, just how you like it. I figured you could use it.”
Accepting the drink with gratitude, Spencer presses a kiss to your forehead. “Thank you so much, darling.”
“Of course, honey.” Your soft voice reaches his ears as his heart warms as much as his hands does when he holds the coffee.
“So, looks like we were right.”
Spencer offers a weaker, sheepish smile towards his coworkers as you spin around to see the owner of the voice, meeting three new people in front of you.
“Oh- hi. I’m sorry for interrupting, I just wanted to drop off Spencer’s coffee.” You explain and Emily shakes her head. “It’s no problem. We’re happy to meet the person who’s been making our resident genius so happy~” she teases, making you smile in embarrassment.
“I’m Derek, this is JJ and Emily.” Derek introduces kindly, extending his hand out and you shake it firmly, smiling confidently as you shake the women’s hands.
“Nice to meet you. I’m [Name].”
Spencer presses a gentle hand to your back and smiles warmly. “Guys, this is my girlfriend.” His eyes seem to brighten the more he stares at you, and the others make sure to notice how loved he looks.
“How long have you two been together?” JJ grins, happy to see her best friend so in love.
“About a few months so far.. we’ve met and known each other for a while though.” You answer, taking a glance at your watch. “Speaking of time, I have to get going to the office.”
“Oh, where do you work?” Emily hums and you turn to her. “I’m a pediatrician. I work at the local clinic for adolescents.” You then turn to Spencer and press a quick kiss to his lips.
“Good luck on the case, I’ll text you when I get to work.” You turn the other three and wave kindly. “Nice to meet you all again!”
Your eyes then meet with two other men by a railing in the farther side of the room and you nod in acknowledgment, offering a small smile. “I’ll see you later!”
Spencer waves goodbye and watches as you walk back to the elevator before his eyes drift to his coffee.
Derek places a hand on his shoulder and grins. “My man.”
“She’s pretty, and works with kids.” JJ whistles and Emily laughs. “We should set up a proper meeting with her and the rest of the team soon.”
Spencer only smiles warmly and looks in the direction of the elevator. “Yeah..”

a/n: Spencer would totally call you “darling, sweetheart” and all these domestic terms and I’m here for it. I love him.

“Hey, has anyone seen y/n this morning?” Reid asked with a frown as he entered the bullpen, hanging his bag over the back of his chair.
“She’s not here yet, why?”
His face only scrunched up further at Morgan’s words. He knew it was unusual for her to be late to work, let alone skip out on plans at the last minute. “It’s just, we were supposed to get coffee this morning but she didn’t show.”
Morgan shrugged. “Maybe she overslept?”
“Maybe…”
He wanted to believe it because the alternative, which had already begun to play on his mind, was much worse. Still, he couldn’t ignore the feeling that was starting to settle into the bottom of his stomach. That uneasy feeling which had taken hold before he’d even left the coffee shop where they were supposed to meet.
Something was wrong. He knew that even before the box arrived.
It was delivered by courier directly to the office. The only indicator of who it was for was in thick, red marker across the top of the box which spelt out nothing but ‘BAU’. The handwriting was neat but unnecessarily large.
Morgan held the box, inspecting it as Reid and Prentiss peered over his shoulders.
“What is it?” Emily questioned, waiting for Morgan to open the package.
“Nothing good.” All eyes turned to their superior as he approached, holding up a letter written in the same red ink that decorated the box.
Hotchner passed the note to Prentiss, allowing her to read it to the rest of the team. “‘For Agent Hotchner at the BAU. A package will arrive not long after you read this, I suggest you gather your team and prepare for the game’?”
“Game? What game?”
Reid furrowed his brows at Morgan’s question, already trying to piece together what was going on. “You don’t think this has anything to do with why y/n is late, do you?”
“I don’t know, but what I do know is that we’re going to need the whole team on this. Reid, try to get in contact with y/n and find out where she is. Prentiss, gather the others. I want everyone in the briefing room within the next five minutes.”
Just like that, the group dispersed and, within minutes, they assembled again for the briefing.
“Still no y/n?”
Reid shook his head as he pushed his phone back into his pocket. “She isn’t answering her phone.”
“No matter, we’ll have to catch her up when she gets here. We can’t waste any more time, we need to know what’s inside the box,” Hotch sighed and signalled for Morgan to finally open it up.
The team watched on anxiously, worried about the contents of the package they’d received. More often than not, packages with notes such as the one they’d received were a little more than unpleasant.
The one thing that gave them hope, was the fact that no blood seemed to be staining the cardboard from the inside. Although that didn’t mean there wasn’t a victim’s body part inside
“A CD?” Morgan frowned when he revealed its contents, only growing more curious as he checked both the front and back of the case.
It was Electra Heart by Marina and the Diamonds, not that anyone thought that detail was of any particular importance.
“Could just be a case the unsub is using to protect the disc. It’s most likely a video,” JJ gave her input as she reached out for the disc before moving to play it on the screen.
The room was silent as she prepared the video, nervous to find out what was on it.
Would it be a video of the unsub? Perhaps a video of them committing a crime? Murder? Torture? Assault? Something else altogether? Or had it really just been a prank? Was it really just an album?
“Oh god-” Garcia gasped, hands moving to cover her mouth the moment the video began to play, tears already pricking in the corner of her startled eyes.
That uneasy feeling in Reid’s gut only grew stronger, twisting and turning until it became all that consumed him. It had never been this bad before, not even when he himself was the one in danger. He was terrified.
Terrified for her.
There she was. Y/n, the agent who had not been late to work but abducted by their unsub. Taken in the dead of night to become a pawn in his sick game.
She was standing, just barely, with nothing but the chains around her wrists holding her up. Half-dried blood stained her forehead and matted her hair. The video only lasted for fifty-five seconds. Fifty-five seconds of nothing but her hanging there, feet barely on the ground. She was conscious but only just, likely concussed from the wound on her head.
“She’s been struck around the head, likely to incapacitate her before she could fight back during the abduction,” Morgan identified, eyes trained on the video.
“The unsub knows what he’s doing. There isn’t anything in the video that could indicate where she is,” Rossi added as he perched down on the end of the table to examine the paused video further.
Hotch hummed as he too was glued to the screen. “She can’t be far, she must have been abducted sometime since leaving here yesterday and this morning. Most likely during the night.”
JJ turned from the screen, unable to watch any longer. “We left at the same time last night and it’s unlikely she would have stopped on her way home.”
“Can we stop talking about her like she’s some random victim? This is y/n we’re talking about,” Reid snapped, drawing all eyes to him.
Each new comment in the discussion had been piling up until he just couldn’t take it anymore. This wasn’t just some case, nor was it any other victim. This was y/n — their friend.
“Reid, we know she isn’t just any victim but we have to look at this like we would any other case. It’s the only way we’re going to find her,” Morgan reminded, hoping to ease Reid at least a little.
“JJ, play the video again. We need to look for anything that could help us figure out where they are and Reid, I need you to focus. We’re going to need your brain on this.”
The youngest of them nodded, heeding Hotch’s words. This was just a game to the unsub — a game he’d made specifically for the BAU team. They were the only ones who could save her, he knew that.
“Hey, there’s something else in here. Looks like a note, taped to the inside of the box,” Prentiss announced before JJ had a chance to replay the video.
“What is it?” Reid was the first to jump at the new information, hoping it would be a better indication of where their missing friend was than the video.
Prentiss carefully tore the note from the box and began to read it out loud, “It’s a riddle. ‘I have cities, but no houses. I have mountains but no trees. I have water but no fish. What am I?’”
“A map,” Reid concluded after only a brief moment of pause, “It’s a map.”
“A map? I don’t see any kind of map here.” Morgan gestured at the now empty package before crossing his arms over his chest. He knew the wonder boy was right but he still couldn’t understand what the riddle could mean.
Hotch too seemed to be running circles in his head, unsure of what their unsub was trying to point them to. “Does it say anything else?”
Emily looked up from the note with troubled eyes as she voiced the final part, “Find her by midnight and she’ll live. Good luck, Agents.”
As if on cue, Reid vocalised the conclusion he had come to in his head, jumping to his feet like he was about to rush there himself without a second thought. “The Marina.”
“You think the unsub is holding her at the Marina?”
“I think it’s the only indication of a map I can find in all this. Marina and the Diamonds? The unsub didn’t choose that album without reason.”
Hotch hummed, seemingly agreeing with Reid’s deduction, and began to give directions. “Okay. Morgan, Prentiss and Rossi will come with me to the Marina. JJ, I need you and Reid to watch the video again. Look for anything we might have missed in case we’re wrong. And Garcia, I need you to track down exactly who delivered the package and where they delivered it from.”
Everyone got to their feet, springing into action as they would on any other case. They all knew their part to play and knew it was vital in locating their missing team member. Everyone other than Reid, who was less than happy to have been told to stay behind.
“No, I’m going with you.”
“Reid…” Hotch turned to him with a hand to his brow, already anticipating the headache that was to come if he continued to clash with the young doctor.
“No,” he cut him off again, “This is not negotiable. I’m going to the Marina with you.”
With a sigh, the unit chief gave in, knowing there was little he could do to keep Reid in the office. “Okay, Reid you’re with us. Prentiss, you stay here with JJ. Call us the moment you find anything.”

Spencer had been restless the entire ride there. His hands were fidgety in his lap, his nails occasionally digging into the skin of his palms. He was stressed and more on edge than the rest of the team, not that anyone had expected any less.
Everyone knew that Reid had had a budding crush on y/n since she joined the BAU. Not that he’d ever acted on it. Morgan teased him about it constantly, comparing it to a schoolboy crush. Only, it wasn’t just a schoolboy crush. Not anymore.
The longer they had gotten to know one another, the closer y/n and Reid became. He felt as though she was the only one who really saw him, not that the rest of the team didn’t care greatly for him. She just understood him better than anyone else.
So, to say it was a simple crush would be a lie. He was in love with her. How couldn’t he be? She was pretty and funny and kind and a great agent. She saw him for who he really was and accepted every part of him. She stood up for him when the team teased him about his rambling. She always listened so intently, never once cutting him off no matter what it was he was talking about.
He was in love with her but now, he feared more than ever that he was about to lose her.
“She’s going to be okay, Reid,” Morgan comforted from the seat beside him, squeezing Reid’s shoulder as if the gesture would ease his fear.
Nothing would ease it. Not until she was safe.
It wasn’t like Reid to doubt himself. He knew he was right about the riddle, he had to be, yet he was still starting to wonder what would happen if he was wrong.
They only had until midnight. There was no time to spare and if he was wrong about this they might just lose her.
“I know,” he lied, trying to mask his true feelings.
Morgan sighed, seeing through Reid’s weak façade. No matter what he said or did, it hadn’t stopped his legs from bouncing or his hands from shaking.
The moment they arrived, Reid was fast to get out of the van. Too enthusiastic about rushing in headfirst to save her. He glanced around, taking in the fresh air as if his lungs had been deprived for hours.
“Spread out and search the area,” Hotch ordered and the team nodded, checking their vests one last time before pulling out their guns for the sweep.
They searched almost everywhere but found nothing. No sign that y/n or the unsub had ever been there. It was just a Marina and none of the boats there were big enough to fit the room they’d seen in the video.
Reid was beginning to believe that he really was wrong, that he had just wasted time they didn’t have on a hunch. Well, he was beginning to lose hope until Rossi called the team over to his location.
With a fast-beating heart, Reid ran as fast as he could manage to see what Rossi had found. He prayed it was her and that she was safe — that it was over.
Disappointment was not quite the right word for his feelings when he arrived and saw she wasn’t there because something was there. Another note, written in that same red marker.
“‘So you figured it out. Well done, agents. I hate to disappoint but your missing agent isn’t here but I hope this gift will help keep you on the trail’?” Rossi read the letter aloud before turning it over to find a USB taped to the other side.
“He’s playing with us.” Morgan shook his head, already growing tired of the unsub’s game.
“Or testing us,” Reid argued, “He’s referred to us as ‘agents’ in every note so far. It’s like he’s-”
“A part of the bureau,” Hotch finished for him, drawing the same conclusion, “Likely an ex-agent or even an ex-recruit.”
Morgan’s brow creased and he asked, “By why us? Why is he testing us? And why did he take y/n? He could have taken any one of us, why her?”
“Because she’s the newest member of the BAU. Maybe he doesn’t see her as an official member of the team yet?” Queried Reid.
“Or he just thought she’d be the easiest to abduct because she’s less experienced,” Rossi added.
“Whatever the reason, we don’t have a lot of time. The unsub must have had base access to use the marina. Reid, Morgan, I need you to speak with the workers here. See if they’ve seen anyone strange and ask for records to find out who owns this boat. We’ll head back to check in with the rest of the team and get this to Garcia.” Hotch held up the USB, knowing Garcia was the safest person to give it to as there was no way to know what would be on it.
𓆩♡𓆪
“Anything?”
“No, you?”
Reid shrugged. “Not much but I did get a name for the boat owner. Rudd Richardson.”
“Did you run it by Garcia?”
“Yeah, Rudd Richardson died three years ago.”
Morgan hummed in thought. “So our unsub is using a dead man’s name?”
“Maybe. Garcia is looking for any other property that is still registered in his name but she hasn’t been able to find anything yet and it doesn’t look like the unsub has taken Richardson’s identity.”
Their discussion was cut short when Reid’s phone began to ring.
“Garcia?”
He shook his head, looking up from his phone in disbelief. “No. It’s y/n.”
Right away Morgan pulled out his cell to call Garcia. If it really was y/n or even the unsub they would need her to trace the call.
“Y/n?” Questioned Reid as he put the phone on speaker, his voice already settling into a tone of urgency.
The line was silent but the trace had already begun, all they needed to do now was keep them on the phone.
After a brief moment of static, a weak voice finally spoke from the other side, “Reid?”
“Y/n! Y/n, can you tell us where you are? Are you alright?” He spoke at a hundred miles a minute, desperate to know she was okay.
Static again as the phone on the other end seemed to move from one ear to another.
The young doctor gulped as another voice began to speak, “She knew you would figure it out… The first clue. Let’s see how quickly you figure out the rest. The sands of time are forever slipping…”
The voice was dark and warped, spoken through a voice-changing device. Its sinister vibrations sent a chill up Spencer’s spine.
“Wait! Y/n!”
“Dammit,” Morgan spoke bitterly, knowing the call had not been long enough to give them any hint on their location, “He’s taunting us.”
“We need to get back to the others. He said this was the first clue, the USB must be the next.”
Morgan sighed. “We have to play his game. Or we may never find her…”
𓆩♡𓆪
“Please tell me you guys have got something,” Morgan asked while looking down at his watch.
There was still time but there was no way to know if the unsub would stay true to his word.
“Nothing yet. The USB locked Garcia out of the system the moment she plugged it in, she’s trying to regain access now,” JJ explained with a sigh before turning her attention back to the files in her hands.
Reid was only growing more anxious and began fishing for anything else that could be of use. “What about the video?”
“Nothing. We’ve watched it a hundred times but there’s nothing in it that could tell us where they are.” Prentiss chimed in as she too walked over with a new batch of files.
“So what do we do? We can’t just sit around and wait for Garcia to get the system up and running again.”
JJ split the files he was holding into three before passing a pile out to Reid and Morgan. “I know you’re worried, Spence. We all are but there isn’t a lot we can do right now. Until she gets back in all we really can do is look at these files to see if anyone fits the profile.”
“Profile? We’ve got a profile?” Morgan questioned as he began to flick through the files.
“Well, Hotch told us you think it’s an ex-agent or recruit but other than that we don’t really have a lot to go on so right now we’re just looking for anyone that sticks out.”
Reid dropped the files down onto the desk with a scoff, “We’re looking for a needle in a haystack. This isn’t going to get us anywhere.”
“It’s better than sitting around twiddling our thumbs.” Morgan shrugged.
“Look, Reid, if you don’t want to look through the files then go help Hotch and Rossi. They’re looking for anywhere she could be being held. Warehouses, storerooms, abandoned homes. Look for anything and everything and start making it down.”
He only grew more frustrated as he listened to Prentiss. “So if we run out of time we’re just going to start knocking on doors until we find her?”
“We don’t really have any other choice right now. Not until Garcia gets back into the system. He’s testing us, right? So this is probably just another test. She’s got this.”
Like Morgan, Reid also had full faith that Garcia would get back into the system but he was worried about how long it would take her to do so. They were on the clock and every second they spent sitting around waiting for her would only bring them closer to their deadline.
So, to try and ease his mind, Spencer decided to go help Hotch and Rossi in the hope that it would help bring them closer to finding y/n.
𓆩♡𓆪
“I’m back in. I’m back in!” Garcia cried out and soon the team were rushing into her office.
It had been no longer than an hour but that was still an hour they didn’t have to spare in the first place.
She tapped away on her keyboard, eyes flickering across the screen at the speed of light as she searched for any trace of what the unsub had tried to achieve by locking her out of her own system.
“He’s watching us,” she announced when her tapping fingers finally began to calm down, “I don’t think I can remove him from the system, not from my end anyway. I had to reboot the whole thing just to get back in. It’s amazing he’s even still here.”
“So he can see everything we do?” Rossi questioned, wanting to know exactly what the unsub was able to do with his access to the system.
Garcia hummed, “Yep. Well, he can see through our webcams but he doesn’t have access to my screen. That was a nasty piece of malware but it won’t give him access to any of my files.”
Just as Hotch opened his mouth to speak, a notification sound rang from the speakers and a message popped up on the screen. It was typed out rather than written but the red colour still prevailed.
‘Well done, Agents. You’ve cracked the code and earned your next clue: I can’t be bought, but I can be stolen with a glance. I’m worthless to one, but priceless to two. What am I?’
“Love… the answer is love,” Reid announced with a tightening heart.
“But what does that mean? Love, what kind of a clue is that?” Morgan complained, once again growing tired of the game they were being forced to play.
Prentiss hummed in thought for a moment before asking, “What about wedding venues? A church maybe?”
“Or some kind of date spot? A restaurant?” JJ added.
Before long, everyone was throwing out ideas but nothing was clicking.
Hotch was the first to catch onto the lead again. “Garcia, see if Mr Richardson was married.”
“Okay.” The tech-whiz complied and began tapping away on her keyboard again.
Within only a few short seconds she had her answer. “He married Triss Anderson in 1984 but she died during childbirth over twenty years ago.”
“What about their child?” Morgan prompted, drawing at any loose threads.
Her eyes flicked over the screen again as she searched for the information. “They had a daughter. She’s living here in Quantico, only a few blocks away from here actually.”
“Okay, let’s go.”
𓆩♡𓆪
“No car,” Prentiss stated as they approached the house.
Rossi stepped up to the door while Reid and Morgan peered in through the windows.
“Look’s like no one’s home,” Morgan sighed.
Still, Rossi tried the door. “Miss Richardson?”
When no response came, he banged again.
“You’re looking for Jen?” They turned around to the neighbour, eager to hear what she had to say. “She left for vacation just over a week ago. I’m Michelle, I live across the street. Maybe I can help you?”
“Do you know when she’s supposed to come home?” Reid questioned, worried they had wasted their time.
Michelle thought for a moment before replying, “Actually, now that you mention it I think she was due back last night.”
“So she hasn’t come home?” Asked Prentiss as she hurriedly pulled out her phone.
“No, I guess not. You don’t think anything has happened to her, do you?”
As Rossi began to reassure Miss Richardson’s neighbour, the others quickly headed back to the van.
Prentiss held her phone to her ear, exchanging a worried glance with Morgan as she spoke with the unit chief, “Hotch, we might have another missing person on our hands.”
“Are you Spencer Reid?”
Spencer turned from the van just before opening the door to find a young boy standing behind him.
“Yeah, you know me?”
The child shook his head and shyly held out a piece of paper and pointed down the street with his free hand. “That man over there told me to give this to you.”
As he took the paper, Spencer quickly looked in the direction the boy was pointing but whoever may have been there had long since gone.
“Thank you, kid. Get home safe now, okay?” Morgan had to speak for him while Reid examined the note.
“It’s an address, Morgan. He’s given us an address.”
𓆩♡𓆪
Wasting no time, the group headed for the address on the note. Garcia ran it through the system and found it to be an empty home, one currently up for sale.
It was the perfect place for the unsub to hold them, although Morgan still doubted the nature of the note. It didn’t make sense for him to just give them the answer now. Not after making them jump through hoops to so much as obtain a single clue.
“Reid, wait,” he reached out for the youngest, holding him back from rushing straight inside, “We don’t know what we’re going to find in there.”
“We can’t wait, what if y/n is in there?” Reid was quick to shake him off, desperate to find her.
Morgan sighed as he pulled out his gun. “The unsub could be in there too, just don’t do anything rash.”
Spencer was the first to the door. He stood ready as Morgan exchanged one quick, affirmative glance with Rossi before kicking down the door.
In the blink of an eye, all four agents infiltrated the home and began to cautiously clear each room.
“Clear!” Prentiss called out from the bathroom as Morgan and Reid began to scale the stairs.
She slowly approached the bedroom, knowing it was the last room to check. If they were going to find anything, it was going to be in there.
When Morgan and Reid were close enough behind her to have her back, she reached for the handle and quickly opened the door.
She checked every corner of the room before giving the all-clear but something was wrong. Her voice was quiet, choked even, as she entered the room.
Morgan turned to Reid, not knowing what to do other than keep him away to stop him from looking inside but he was too late, he’d already caught a glimpse of what was waiting for them inside.
“Y/n? Y/n!” he cried as he rushed towards the room, shoving past Morgan who moved to stop him.
In the middle of the empty room was a body. A woman wearing clothes Reid recognised. She was lifeless and stained in blood. When his hands shakily reached out to her, he felt the coldness of her skin on the tips of his fingers.
He couldn’t think, he couldn’t breathe.
He got back up, unable to bring himself to look at her face – to turn her over and come face-to-face with her void eyes.
Everything was a blur, all of his senses going dull as Morgan moved to further inspect the body.
Emily too was standing near the door as if she were frozen in place with her hand covering her mouth.
Slowly, Morgan rolled the body over onto its back. He was quiet, almost too quiet, before he finally released the breath he had been holding.
“It’s not her.”
𓆩♡𓆪
“Jena Richardson, daughter of Rodd Richardson. A twenty-six-year-old entrepreneur. She was supposed to go on vacation to Europe eight days ago,” Garcia read through the information she had discovered about the woman.
“He chose her for a reason. He did all of this for a reason. Been planning it for a while too.”
Hotch hummed in agreement with Morgan. “He took Miss Richardson before she had a chance to leave for her vacation, she never left. Her bags are likely still inside her home.”
“And when he took y/n, he stole some of her clothes to dress the victim in so that we would think it was her. That’s why he chose the victim… because she looked like y/n,” Prentiss concluded.
The whole team had gathered in the briefing room again, discussing their next course of action.
“There was nothing else on the body or in the house? No next clue? Nothing to tell us where he might be holding her?” Hotch questioned, hopeful that there would have been something — anything.
Prentiss shook her head. There was nothing. Nothing at all. They had searched everywhere. Every single inch of that house but there was nothing there. Nothing but the body.
“Then we’ll have to wait for the coroner’s report, maybe the unsub left a clue for us there.”
“No, we don’t have time to wait. We only have a few hours left. There has to be something we’re missing.” Reid began to pace the room, running through everything they’d discovered so far in his head.
“Reid,” Morgan began, “We’ve run out of options but we still have time.”
The young doctor only began to shake his head, his eyes glaring in disbelief that his team could even suggest to sit around and wait while y/n was in danger. “No, we don’t. We have hours and if we just keep sitting around waiting she’s going to die.”
Just like that, he was storming out of the briefing room and, while Hotch gave new directions to the rest of the team, JJ jumped up to go after him.
“Spence!”
“If you’re just going to tell me to sit tight and wait like everyone else you’re wasting your breath.”
She understood how he was feeling because she knew how he felt about y/n. She knew it was a fool's errand trying to calm him down or convince him everything was going to be alright. All she wanted to do was be there for him when hope began to fade.
“Where are you going?”
He tugged at his collar, his fingers moving to loosen his tie in a desperate attempt to breathe. “I need some air.”
She let it be as he rushed through the bullpen, heading straight for the elevator. If she had left a moment earlier, she wouldn’t have heard the sound of a text coming through on his phone as the elevator doors began to close.
His eyes widened as he read the message, one that had come through from her: ‘It’s funny, isn’t it? Love? When you lose the thing you love, there isn’t anything you wouldn’t do to be reunited with it. That’s what I did, you know. I reunited Miss Richardson with her beloved father. Now I’m giving you the chance to be reunited with the one you love, so long as you come alone.’
Another text came through by the time he reached the bottom of the building. Another address.

“Where’s Reid?”
JJ looked up from her paperwork and glanced out into the bullpen. “He’s not back yet?”
Morgan frowned. “No. Where did he go?”
“He said he needed to get some air but he should have been back by now,” she explained as she stood up, realising what had happened, “Shit.”
“What?”
“He got a text before he got into the elevator.”
Morgan was already half out of the room by the time she finished her sentence. “The unsub.”
The two of them all but ran to the rest of their team, already gathering their things to leave as questions started flooding in.
“Reid’s gone after him,” Morgan announced as the rest of the team gathered their equipment and began to head for the door.
“Alone?” Prentiss furrowed her brows, she had hoped he would have known better than that.
JJ stuttered, still in disbelief, “H-He said he was just going outside to get some air.”
Hotch was already pointing Garcia back into her office before she’d even made it through the door. “Garcia I need you to find Reid’s car. Tell us the moment you know what direction he was headed.”
“Y-yes, sir.”
Everyone was in hyperdrive, working against the clock to find Reid and y/n before it was too late. They were already in the SUVs, splitting into two groups before they even had any information on where he was going.
𓆩♡𓆪
There he stood, outside a property that they never would have even considered including during their search for it was not empty or abandoned but rather a home. A home that seemed well lived in from the moment he stepped inside.
No one was there. Not a single soul. Yet every surface was decorated with family pictures. A mother, father and son. A happy family.
From the photos, the son seemed to be no older than four and all Reid could do was hope nothing bad had happened to him or his family.
With his gun raised, he slowly made his way through the house until he reached the door he was looking for — the door to the basement.
Quietly, he descended into the darkest depths of the house. The stairs barely made a creak and, by the time he could see into the room, he saw her.
“Welcome, Doctor Reid.”
The man was standing beside her, face half-hidden in the shadows. He had a knife and held it firmly near her stomach in a silent threat.
“Let her go,” Reid demanded, although when the unsub did not budge, he opted for negotiation over immediate violence.
Stepping from the shadows, the unsub revealed himself. Reid recognised him the moment the dull light illuminated his features. He was the father in the photos upstairs but he was older now and more unkept than he appeared in the pictures.
“I don’t know what happened to your family but please, you have to let her go,” he pleaded again, eyes flickering over to y/n.
Other than the injuries she had sustained during the abduction, she seemed okay but he noticed how weak she seemed. Her injuries were not bad enough to be the cause of her drowsy state. The unsub may not have harmed her further but it seemed likely she had been drugged.
“Reid…” she spoke in a quiet voice, her hooded eyes barely open as she looked at him, struggling to lift her head.
The unsub looked between them with a smile as if he was truly happy to see them this way. “Young love, isn’t it so precious?”
“What do you want?”
“Me? No, this isn’t about what I want. This is about what you want,” the unsub looked at y/n as she stood half-dangling beside him and pointed, “Her. You want her, don’t you?”
Reid raised his gun again, finger resting on the trigger the moment the man drew closer to her.
“You lost your family,” he stated, gaining the unsub’s attention once again, “Your wife and son. You lost them, didn’t you?”
Hesitantly, the man nodded. “They were taken from me, just as she was taken from you. In the night while I was away.”
“You don’t have to do this. You don’t have to hurt her. It won’t bring them back.”
“Oh, but I do. When I sent my case to the BAU, you turned it down. It wasn’t a serial killer or a professional hit. Just a burglary gone wrong. I was at work when it happened, out late on the job. I wanted to join the FBI, you know? I was a recruit.”
The more he explained, the more Spencer began to understand. The unsub’s connection to the BAU, and the resentment he held for them. The loss of his family had driven him to his breaking point and he blamed them for not finding the killer.
Why had he taken y/n? Well, it wasn’t because she was a newer member of the BAU or because she was less experienced than the others but because somehow he knew. He knew how Spencer felt about her and he wanted to show a member of the BAU the same pain he felt when he lost his family.
“Please, just put the knife down. It doesn’t have to end this way.”
The unsub held the knife tighter than before, raising it to her neck. “Oh, but it does. I want you to do it. I want you to reunite me with them. Send me to them, please. If you refuse, I’ll take her from you just as they were taken from me.”
Reid shook his head, refusing to play his twisted game any longer. “Put the knife down.”
“I hoped it could have been different.”
Time seemed to move in slow motion as the unsub lifted his arm, angling the knife back onto her abdomen as he swung it down.
“No!”
𓆩♡𓆪
“Garcia, you’re sure he’s here?”
The technical analyst hummed over the line. “Positive.”
“I see his car,” JJ announced as she climbed out of the SUV, already rushing toward the house.
The team approached the building with caution, not wanting to rush in and startle the unsub into doing anything rash. They knew Reid was inside but they didn’t want to put him in any more danger.
Only, before they even reached the front door, they heard a gunshot and all caution flew to the wind as Morgan kicked down the door and burst inside.
They cleared each room before reaching the entrance to the basement and, upon hearing footsteps approaching, all guns were aimed at the door. They stood their ground, ready for whatever they were to face but when the door finally opened, all anyone could do was breathe a sigh of relief.
“Reid!” Morgan was by his side the moment he stepped through the door with her in his arms.
Hotch saw the spattering of blood that stained her clothes and looked into his eye. With just an exchanged glance, he knew what had transpired.
The unsub was dead. It was finally over.
Despite Morgan’s offer for help, Spencer carried her all the way outside to the paramedics. He stayed with her still as they lifted her into the ambulance. She was out of it, barely aware of what was going on.
“Go with them, we’ll meet you there.”
Reid offered a subtle nod to his unit chief, thankful that he was allowing him to accompany her to the hospital.
𓆩♡𓆪
Quiet beeps echoed through the room, the sound of the monitor that continued to track the beats of her heart.
Reid sat waiting, hands fidgeting as he bounced his leg.
“The doctor said she’s going to be fine, relax a little,” Morgan comforted with a gentle hand on Reid’s shoulder.
The youngest glanced up at his friend before his eyes flickered back over to her. “I can’t relax. Not until she wakes up. Not until I know she’s okay.”
From the moment the doctor had told them it was okay to wait with her in her room, Spencer had been by her side. The time he had spent in the waiting room before was agonising and he had felt relief when the doctor told them she just needed time to recover. Still, he couldn’t help but worry about her, not when he had been through something similar before. Kidnapped, tortured, and drugged.
He was thankful this unsub had seemed to skip the torture but he could still sympathise with how she was feeling. She had been taken from her own home. He could only imagine how scared she must have been.
When she finally began to stir and her eyes finally fluttered awake, he was on his feet again. “Y/n? How are you feeling?”
Morgan chuckled, “Come on kid, give her a second to wake up before you jump her with questions.”
Spencer was already holding her hand, his thumb rubbing gently across the back of it as he smiled.
“Spence?”
He nodded as she slowly came to, squeezing her hand a little just to make sure she knew he was really there — that she was safe now.
“I’ll go let the others know she’s awake,” Morgan excused himself, leaving the two of them to talk alone.
“What… What happened?”
He gulped and stuttered slightly as he answered, “Y-you were kidnapped.”
She closed her eyes again and nodded, recalling the events that had transpired as well as she could remember them. “You saved me. Thank you.”
With a small smile, he nodded.
It was quiet for a moment and all she could focus on was the warmth of his hand. Soon, he too realised he was still holding her hand and quickly let go as he cleared his throat to speak.
“So, how are you feeling?” he repeated his earlier words, eager to hear how she was holding up.
She couldn’t help but chuckle. “Honestly? Like shit. My head is killing and I think I might still be a little high.”
Spencer was now the one laughing at her remark, thankful that she was well enough to make light of the situation. “Yeah, that’s probably the painkillers the doctor gave you. Must be a pretty bad concussion if your head is still hurting.”
“Yeah, well it could have been a lot worse…”
The mood soured again with her words as the two of them were reminded of just how badly things could have gone had Reid not found her when he did.
“I knew it was going to be okay, you know. When I saw you I just… I knew I was safe.”
Though she smiled, it was her eyes that conveyed all he needed to know. Everything she’d never spoken aloud, everything she wanted to say but could never bring herself to do so. It was the first time he’d truly felt it, the way she felt for him. The first time he’d realised that she cared about him as much as he cared about her.
A test of faith had brought them together, breaking the boundary between them.
Spencer stepped closer again, leaning towards her as he took her hand in his again. With his other, he brushed her hair from her face, fingers lingering on her skin as time froze still.
Their quiet moment together would soon be broken when the door opened and the rest of the team flooded in to see how she was but, for just one moment, they were the only two people in the world.

Imagine Reid just reminding you to do something as simple as to eat or drink water, and asks you if you've gotten enough sleep. Either you two have been talking about it in small talk, or Reid picked up on you neglecting your needs. Also reminding Reid to do the same when he forgets to take care of himself properly.
ND to ND communication.

Day Eleven: Spencer Reid + Humiliation
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The shirts that you wore to work were always work appropriate. Nothing show off to much skin, or anyting that would make anyone stare at you for too long.
Yet the idea of breaking a few rules to see how your boyfriend would react had you pushing away the work appropraite shirts, and skirts. Instead looking for something shorter, and more revealing.
A shirt that you wore to dinner with Reid that was one of your favorite. You slipped on, and grabbed a shorter black skirt. You aren't sure where the idea for teasing Specner came from it was just there.
Maybe it was the sexy dream, or the naughty thought you had of him when you were both at work. Sure you guys haven't been together for a long time, but you just wanted to see how he would react.
You slipped into work, earlier then anyone else. Putting your things away at your desk, and getting on with paper work. Reid was normally the second to be at work after you. Hotch already having made it to work. "Hey honey." Reid whispered into your ear. The rest of the team not yet knowing that you two were dating.
I nuzzled into him, as he kissed the cusp of your ear. When you turned around to catch his eye, they were huge and staring right down at your cleavage. All on the view for anyone to see. He swallowed hard, "Y/n, is that um… this is… you look good today." Reid mouth not really working.
You winked, and "Oh thank you sweetie." Then got back to work. You could feel Reid staring at you for a little bit longer. Then he was gone, and at his desk.
Your team members came in a constant flow. JJ, Emily, Garcia, Rossi, and Derek. You caught everyone attention. JJ, Emily, and Garcia surrounding you at your desk. "You got a hot date after work?" Emily asked. You rolled your eyes, "Oh I know… she's trying to make someone jealous." JJ whispered. Your cheeks went hot with embrassement. "Lookin' good Y/n." Derek said as he passed. All three looked at me.
"Derek?" All questioned, but I could feel the heat radiating off of Reid. "We've got a case, met in the conference room in ten." The girls and I continued to talk, but the sound of heavy steps and growling from being me caught my attention.
"Reid? Is everythign alright?" I asked innocently, his jaw sharp and warning eyes. "Yup, everything is just fine." "What's up with him?Emily asked as we all watched him walk towards the conference room.
From that point on the four of you walk towards the conference room. You always sat next to Reid, but today you deciced that you would rather sit across from him. Derek was next to Reid, Rossi next to Derek, Hotch next Rossi, Hotch was next to me. JJ was on the other side of me, Garcia sat next to her, and Emily was to the other side of Reid.
I stared willingfully at Reid the entire time. Shifting myself every so often so that my breasts would bluge out of the restricting fabric catching the staring eye of Reid. And as he tried desperatly to not look at me directly. I played footies with him underneath the table.
My heels slipping off my stocking covered feet, and up his slack covered legs. The further my feets inched up his thighs the harder his face got to covering up the hot blush that hit his cheeks all at once.
The further i went up his thigh, the tighter the fabric of his slacks got. The direct eye contact was hard to keep when Reid kept looking down in his lap. His hands shifted down under the table. "Are you alright Specner?" Hotch asked from next to me. I didn't stop not even has his eyes begged me to. "Yeah he is looking at flush, are you sick?" I asked. His hand landed on my ankle squeezzing tightly.
Clearing his thoart, "Yeah I'm fine just a little hot in here is all." He muttered, Garcia was almost done anyways. "Okay, just. Y/n do you mind checking him out before we get ready to leave." "No probelm Hotch." I said sweetly. Garcia was done in a matter of moments, and stocking covered feet were back in their heels.
I waited for everyone to exist the conference room. "Are you feeling alright?" I asked sweetly, walking over to his seat. "Oh, don't even start with that shit honey. You knew exactly what you were doing. Getting me all rallied up in front of everyone else with that fucking shirt, and your sweet little movement." He said in a hushed voice.
"What are you gonna do about it baby?" You hushed back to him. "You'll have to wait for that later." He said tapping your ass as he got up and existed the conference room.

Lazy Genius
Request from Anon: Spencer reid x daughter reader who hates school not because anyone bullies her but because she hates doing the work
Spencer Reid x daughter!reader
Summary: You decide to skip out on a school assignment and your dad, Spencer, isn't happy about it.
A/N: Thank you for the request! Reid x daughter!reader isn't on my official list, but it's something I'm willing to write for 99% of the time. This was a challenge for me to write, as I'm a total school work loving nerd. I could not think of a happy ending for this situation so I left it open for interpretation. All requests and feedback are appreciated.
Test weeks sucked, but not because of the tests. You had no problems with tests. Test weeks sucked because for five days straight all your friends were consumed by school and you weren’t. Sure, you were in AP classes for every subject, but having inherited your father’s genius brain meant that as long as you payed attention in class there was never a need to study. So while everyone else was preparing for the academic apocalypse and your dad was out of town on a case, you were left to binge watch Doctor Who alone and wonder if someone could die of social starvation.
Ding!
Your heart leapt as your phone notified you to a message. Leaning over the table to grab your phone, you prayed it was a message from someone wanting to hang out. Unfortunately, it wasn’t.
Message from Dad:
Hey, Princess. We just got a break in the case so I should be home by tomorrow night. Your Aunt Penelope will be over to check on you later. I love you.
You let out a sigh. Only your father, Spencer Reid, would use proper grammar in a text message. You typed up a quick response and were about to put your phone down when it buzzed again. This time it was an email from a teacher.
Students, if you have received this reminder you have not yet turned in your mid-term paper. Please email me your work by 3:00 PM tomorrow afternoon. Any student who has not turned in their paper by then will receive a zero for the assignment.
Ugh. Not a paper.
For someone whose grandmother was a professor of literature, there was nothing you despised more than English. With most classes you didn’t have to put in any effort- it was all memorization and testing. But English class was just busy work and paper writing. It was dumb and you didn’t want to do it.
You opened your laptop and looked at the grade book. Having a genius IQ made it easy for you to do the calculations in your head; if you got a zero on the paper it would only lower your grade to 84% and if you kept making perfect scores on your quizzes and tests you’d have 92% by the end of the semester.
You closed your laptop and turned the TV back on. It might have been the 17th time you had watched this episode, but anything was better than writing a paper that wouldn’t affect your GPA in the long run.
---
A week went by. Spencer had come home from the case and you knew it had been a hard one for him. As much as your dad tried to leave his work at the office, his job made it impossible for him to not have fears and worries. You knew that the case must have involved kids, because he was being more sentimental than usual- trying to get home before 6 o’clock, trying (and failing) to make recipes from Rossi, double checking that you were still safe in your bed in the mornings before he went to work.
That morning, he hadn’t double checked that you were still in your room, alive and well, which usually meant that the post-case “helicopter parent period” was over. It seemed odd when you got a text from Spencer as soon as class was dismissed for the day.
Message from Dad: Meet me at the BAU now.
You felt all the blood drain from your face.
“(Y/N), are you okay?” Your friend asked.
“It’s my dad.” Your chest tightened with anxiety. The only time your dad had you come to Quantico is if he thought you might be in some sort of danger. But if you were in true danger he would have had your Uncle Derek come pick you up at school, right? You turned to your friends. “I- I’ll call you later. I have to go.” You sprinted towards the metro station, making it through the gates just in time to cram yourself onto the crowded car that would bring you to Quantico.
---
The elevator ride to the sixth floor took less than a minute, but it felt like it lasted an eternity. Your hands were shaking by your sides and you bounced on your toes, willing the metal box to lift faster. When the metal doors finally opened, Spencer was waiting for you.
“Dad, what’s going on?” You stepped out of the elevator and rushed towards him. It all happened so fast that you failed to notice that this time was different from the others.
Every other time you had come to the BAU headquarters because of danger the place was usually swarming with agents from different units, the phones ringing so wildly you were unsure how they kept up with all the calls, and the glass doors swinging open and closed at an alarming rate.
But the hall wasn’t busy, the phones weren’t ringing, and the glass doors stayed closed.
“That’s what I wanted to ask you,” Spencer said. His kind eyes were hard and his tone was stern. In his right hand he was holding a piece of paper. He handed it to you. “Would you like to explain this?”
You took the paper from him and looked down at it- it was your midterm report card. You had nearly 100% in every class except for AP English. Your calculations had been correct; you had an 84% in the class- a solid B.
“You’re mad that I got a B as my midterm grade?” you asked your dad.
“I’m not mad that you got a B as your midterm grade." Spencer remained calm, but you could see the silent anger boiling inside him. “Did you see what you got on your paper?”
You looked down at the grades again, this time, reading the fine print.
Midterm Paper: 0%, F. Assignment was not submitted.
“Oh.” Your voice was void of emotion.
“Why didn’t you turn in your paper?” Spencer asked.
You sighed. “If I keep getting hundreds on my tests and quizzes I’ll get a 92% in the class, which is an A so it doesn’t actually matter.”
“What actually matters is that you put in the effort, (Y/N).” Your father’s gaze grew harder, boring into you as if you were under interrogation. Spencer wasn’t like most parents who got loud when they were angry- Spencer got quiet. He got quick. He got intense. “This isn’t a result of a lack of understanding. You didn’t put in the effort. You had an assignment and you didn’t do it on purpose because you knew you could get around it.”
“Yeah,” you said, your voice dripping with sarcasm. “It’s called being smart.”
“No, it’s called being lazy.”
His words hit you like a bullet. His anger and disappointment you could handle, but never once had your dad made you feel insulted. You knew it came from a place of love and worry, but that didn't make it hurt any less.
Your voice began to crack and tears stung your eyes as you spoke. “Dad, I-”
“I don’t want to hear it, (Y/N),” Spencer said. “Give me your phone. Garcia is blocking every number that isn’t an emergency contact until you get your act together.”
There was no point in arguing. You handed your dad your phone. He gave you a long, hard look before walking down the hall to Penelope’s office, not once turning back to look at you. When he came back, Garcia was following him. She gave you an apologetic look before she left through the glass doors, leaving you alone with your dad again.
Spencer threw his coat on and slung his satchel over his shoulder. You knew that was your cue to follow him to the elevator. The two of you stepped into the elevator together. The metal doors closed in front of you.
A beat of silence.
“I’m sorry, dad,” you said. “I’m not like you. I don’t like doing school work.”
Spencer sighed. “Sometimes we have to do things, even if we don’t like doing them.”
It was such a dad thing to say, but not a Spencer Reid dad thing to say. You tried to keep calm as you said quietly, “it’s still not going to affect my GPA.”
“It doesn’t matter, (Y/N)." Spencer blinked, long and slow. “Nobody likes a lazy genius.”

Teen Mom
Request: Hi! I saw your requests are open and I saw the MGG imagine I think it was about teenage pregnancy and was wondering if you would do the same ish for Spencer Reid, maybe a little further along or little snapshots of the nine months, or him meeting his grandchild (it’s cool if your not comfortable doing this!)
Spencer Reid x daughter!reader
Summary: Spencer's daughter gets pregnant.
Warnings: throwing up
a/n: thank you for the request! sorry it took forever to write. hope you all enjoy!
(gif not mine)
Tumblr media
Y/N nervously paces her bedroom, sniffling as she recovers from crying. She holds the pregnancy test in her hand, her mind racking over how she's going to tell her dad.
Y/N is too in her head to hear the front door open and shut or hear Spencer call out for her. She jumps when her bedroom door opens, turning to see her dad walk in.
"Hey, honey. Hey, I got your favorite for dinner, I figur--" Spencer stops when he notices the tear stains on her face. "What's wrong?" Concern washes over his face as he walks closer to her. "Did something happen? Why are you crying?"
"Uh... I don't, um... I'm sorry." Y/N sobs. Spencer pulls her into a hug, stroking her hair.
"Baby, what happened?" Spencer asks. Y/N only continues to cry for a few moments before she holds her hand up, showing Spencer the test. Spencer takes the stick, looking at it, and quickly realizing what it is and what the result is.
"Oh." He mumbles.
"I'm so sorry, daddy. I-I didn't mean to. I never planned it, I don't-- please don't kick me out or-or disown me or anything." Y/N begs while still sobbing, pulling away from him.
"Whoa, whoa, hey, hey, hey. It's okay, baby. You're okay." Spencer tells her, bringing her back into a hug. "You aren't going anywhere. I'm right here.
"You... you don't hate me?" She sniffles.
"Of course not, sweetheart. I could never hate you." Spencer tells her.
"But... but I'm pregnant... and 17." Y/N says.
"And I will be with you every step of the way. Whether you keep the baby or-or put it up for adoption, whatever you decide, I will be right here." Spencer promises.
- - -
Y/N decided to keep the baby, not having the heart to not birth and raise it.
Spencer is woken up by the sound of retching coming from the bathroom. He quietly groans, rubbing his eyes as he checks the time, seeing it's five in the morning.
Spencer gets out, trudging to the bathroom where Y/N is kneeling in front of the toilet, emptying her stomach's contents.
"Hey, hey, it's okay, sweetheart." Spencer goes over, pulling her hair back and out of her face. "It's all right. Just let it out." Spencer kneels next to her, keeping her hair held back as she continues to throw up.
After Y/N is sure she's done, she flushes the toilet, letting out a small groan. Spencer wets a wash cloth and wipes around Y/N's mouth, kissing her on the head.
"Come on. Let's get you laying down." Spencer helps her up. "Bed or couch?"
"Bed." She mumbles.
"All right." Spencer leads her to her room and pulls her covers back as she gets into bed. He pulls the covers her up, basically tucking her in and he grabs her trash can, putting it next to her bed.
"You want some toast?" Spencer asks.
"No." She whines. "Sleep."
"Okay. Okay, get some sleep." Spencer says, kissing her temple.
- - -
Spencer gets home after work with takeout food. He's getting some dishes out while Y/N unpacks the food.
"Wait. Where's my fries?" Y/N asks.
"They're not in there?" Spencer asks.
"No." Y/N says.
"Oh. I'm sorry, baby. I guess they forgot." Spencer frowns. He puts the dishes down, looking at Y/N when he hears a sniffle. "Baby, what's wrong?"
"I wanted my fries!" She cries.
"Oh. Baby, we can get the fries another time."
"I want them now, though!"
"Okay, okay. I'm sorry, sweetheart. I'm sorry." Spencer brings her into a hug, stroking her hair while she cries into his chest. After a few minutes, Y/N's cries have reduced to sniffles and she pulls away from Spencer.
"You okay?" Spencer asks, wiping her tears.
"I'm sorry. It... it's all these stupid hormones. I mean, they were bad enough as a teenager much less a pregnant teenager." Y/N says.
"I know, baby. I'm sorry." Spencer hugs her again, kissing her on the head.
- - -
Spencer and Y/N are watching TV and Spencer notices Y/N fidgeting every ten minutes.
"Sweetie, are you okay?" Spencer asks.
"I don't know. I think I ate something bad, I keep having this pain in my abdomen." Y/N says.
"What?" Spencer's eyes widen. "How, uh... is it constant or...?"
"No. No, it comes and goes every, like, ten minutes." Y/N says.
"Okay, Y/N/N, don't freak out, but I think you might be in labor." Spencer says.
"What?" Her eyes widen. "N-No. It-- the baby's not due for a week. I... no."
"Okay. Okay, baby, we're gonna go to the hospital. You know, it could also be a false alarm, but just... just to be safe." Spencer says, turning the TV off and getting up. He helps her up, leading her to the door, grabbing the hospital bag on the way.
- - -
Y/N is in her hospital bed, still needing to dilate a few inches before she can push the baby out. Spencer walks in with a cup and rushes over to her.
"Okay, here's the ice chips." He gives her the cup.
"Thanks." Y/N says, focusing on her breathing.
"Yeah, baby, of course. You feeling okay?" Spencer asks.
"I feel like I'm about to be giving birth... which is not fun." Y/N says.
"Yeah. Yeah, it can be painful. You know, statistics show--"
"Dad, dad, daddy." Y/N stops him. "I really-- I can't do facts right now."
"Okay. Right, yeah, sure, sorry." Spencer says. "You want me to stay or you want me outside while you... while you welcome in a new life?"
"Stay, please. I'm actually really scared. What if... what if I can't do it? Push or raise a baby? I-I don't know the first thing about parenting. I'm 17, that's not exactly typical parent age. I don't... I don't know what the hell I'm doing."
"Hey, hey, sweetie, you are going to do amazing. Okay? You already love this baby more than anything, and that is the first part of being a parent -- loving your kid more than anything. And I will be with you every step of the way, ready to help whenever you need it. You're no in this alone. You're blessed enough to have a village to help you."
Y/N nods, starting to cry.
"Damn it, now I'm crying." She hiccups. Spencer smiles a little, hugging her, kissing the top of her head.
- - -
Y/N gives a final push, the doctor pulling the baby the rest of the way out.
"It's a boy!" The doctor announces. Y/N pants as she throws her head against the pillow.
"Hey, you did great. You did great. I'm proud of you." Spencer tells her, rubbing his thumb over her knuckles.
"Is it over?" She whines.
"Yes. Yeah, it's over, baby." Spencer assures, kissing her on the head.
"Here's your baby boy, mama." A nurse gives the crying baby to Y/N. She takes him, easily managing to soothe his cries and Y/N softly laughs, feeling herself fall even more in love with her baby then she already was.
"Hi, baby." She whispers. "Hi."
After getting the baby cleaned up and swaddling him, they return the baby to Y/N.
"He's so tiny." Y/N says, glancing up at her dad.
"Yeah... you were just a teensy bit bigger." Spencer remembers.
"You wanna hold him?" Y/N asks. Spencer nods and carefully takes the baby from Y/N.
"Hey, buddy." Spencer softly greets, cradling the baby, making sure to support his head. "Hey. I'm your grandpa."

so, can't stop thinking about SPENCER and how you'll absent-mindedly be trying on various outfits and showing them off to him to ask for his opinion, each one exposing more of your skin than usual, until you finally decide to pull him inside the changing room with you, so you doesn't have to keep walking out.
“What do you think of this, Spence?"
Immediately asking as soon as you tug up the thigh skirt up to your waist, the material paper thin and length so short, you could bend down just 45° and your ass will be on full display, showing your cute patterned pastel color panties.
The man doesn’t say a word as he tries to refrain his wandering eyes from taking in every inch of your body, feeling himself gulp and shift in his seat.
And it escalate to the point that you try on lingerie in front of him, following Emily’s and JJ's suggestion of "being more girly", and start taking off your undergarments to try on the other ones.
Seeing his flushed cheeks causes you to laugh, setting your bra aside as you reach for a different one to try on, your perky breasts bouncing with your little shuffles.
"Which one should I try first? The bright red laced ones or do you think I should try these black fishnet underwear pair?"
When you catch his eyes lingering on your exposed chest after remaining unresponsive, you smirk lightly before pressing your arms together under, exaggerating your breasts out further for his unwavering eyes.
"Someone's enjoying themselves." You hum, a teasing smile curling on your lips as you slowly lean down closer to him on the chair, successfully getting back his attention when your finger touches his chin.
Grabbing his chin, you direct his vision to you and tilt your head knowingly.
“Tell me, Spencer. Which one do you think l'll look sexier in? Or do you prefer me with nothing on?"

It’s been months since the kidnapping, months since you almost lost him.
Spencer was back to work almost too quickly, somehow passing his psych evaluation with flying colours, but you knew he wasn’t okay. Everyone did.
He’d grown distant, quieter than usual. Most days he would try to act normal and pretend nothing was wrong but you knew better than to fall for that. Spencer wasn’t very good at hiding things from the people who cared about him, especially when it was you.
The two of you had been close since you joined the BAU. You had a lot in common and you understood him better than anyone else on the team. When he rambled, you listened. When he started spewing out different statistics, you were the only one who never cut him off. You noticed his stimming and his random hyperfixations. You were one of the few people on the team who he truly felt he was never being judged by.
So, when he stopped rambling so much and more often than not you found him sat quietly disassociating so intensely, you knew exactly where his brain was straying, you knew he wasn’t okay.
He’d spoken to Morgan and Gideon but only briefly and, although they had managed to get him to confide in them, you knew there was still something he was hiding. There was more to it and you could see it eating away at him. Everyone could.
“Reid!” you called out to him as you rushed out of the building, hoping to catch him before he left for home.
His head quickly turned back to you and he knitted his brows as you hurried over to his side. Although he said nothing, you knew he was asking a silent question from the tilt of his head.
“Do you want to grab a coffee with me?”
“A coffee?” he asked, checking his watch as if only to remind you that it was an unusual time to get coffee, especially when you were both heading home to unwind after a long day at work.
“Right, yeah. Okay, how about dinner then? I know you’re only going to get a crappy takeout anyway. We don’t have to go out but if you come over I’ll cook for you?”
He smiled, although you could see a glimpse of another emotion in his eyes. You weren’t entirely sure what it was but you didn’t miss the way he held his arm, long fingers wrapping just a tad bit too tensely around his forearm.
“You know what, I’d love to but-“
“No buts, Spencer. I’m cooking for you tonight. You need a proper meal for once,” you cut him off, and began heading towards your car.
With a small smile, Spencer shook his head and followed after you, knowing you wouldn’t take no for an answer.
His strange behaviour only continued during the drive home. He seemed distracted and on edge, though you were unsure why. Whenever you tried to bring it up in conversation, asking if he was alright, he’d just insist he was fine and then change the topic of conversation.
He’d been doing this for weeks. Insisting he was okay when you knew he wasn’t. In truth, he hadn’t only been distant and distracted since he came back to work. No, he’d also been acting strange. Sometimes he was rude and antsy as if he was subtly lashing out, and on occasion, he would completely disappear for short periods of time.
You’d asked Morgan about it, hoping he of all people would have been able to provide you with more insight but even he was unsure why Reid was behaving in such a way. In fact, he had been hoping you would have the answers. All he could chalk it up to was the way each case was getting to Reid. Everything had been different after he had become a victim himself.
“Do you want anything to drink? A glass of water? Juice? Something alcoholic?”
He made his way over to your couch, as always seemed to be his routine now. You weren’t particularly in the habit of inviting colleagues over but you had had Reid, Morgan and Garcia over on occasion. Whenever they came around, Reid always made a b-line for a space on the couch. Even now, it seemed.
“Some water would be great.”
You hummed and poured the both of you a glass before slumping down beside him on the couch. It felt nice to be able to relax although you could still tell something was off with him.
“Hey, can I use your bathroom?” he spoke after a few minutes of sitting in silence.
“Yeah, of course. You know where it is.”
Your smile dropped when he reached the hallway but you shook it off and started to prepare dinner. You couldn’t blame him for getting takeout most days as you often did the same. It was always so hard finding the time or energy to cook after a long day at work.
When Spencer came back from the bathroom he seemed different again. He didn’t utter a word to you as he sat back down on the couch, his body slumped over more than usual as he rested his head back and closed his eyes. You watched him from your place in the kitchen, thankful for your small apartment at this moment as it allowed you to keep an eye on him.
Still, you had already dragged him home with you and he was probably exhausted so you didn’t want to press. Instead, you opted for getting dinner cooked so that, at the very least, he could have a nice warm meal.
However, dinner hadn’t been the only reason you’d invited him over.
He sat opposite you at the table, thanking you for the food as he began to tuck in. The one thing that had struck you as odd, however, was the fact that he hadn’t taken his jacket off once since he’d arrived.
Usually, at the very least, he would have thrown it over the back of a chair and, on occasions when he was particularly tired, he’d even loosen his tie as well. Today, however, his clothes were almost too put together. In fact, you realised then that you hadn’t seen him with so much as a hair out of place in months. Not that that had hidden the dark circles under his eyes or the redness that often resided within them.
“Spencer?”
He only hummed in reply, his head swaying ever so slightly as he lifted it to look at you. His eyes seemed watery and his cheeks were somewhat flushed. He scratched the side of his neck, yet another tell in his body language that was bringing you closer to the source of his strange behaviour.
“Are you okay?” you asked as you piled the dishes up next to the sink, telling yourself you’d wash them later.
He stood from his chair, once again with knitted brows. “Yeah, I’m fine. Why?”
He was scratching again, this time at his arm — the same arm he’d held when you approached him outside of work.
You sighed, growing tired of his lies. “Why won’t you talk to me? I know something is wrong, Spencer. You haven’t been right for a while.”
His eyes strayed from yours and he rubbed his hand up and down his arm, stopping just before he reached his elbow every time.
“I’m fine, really.”
You stepped closer. “No, you’re not.”
He glanced up at you again with guilt in his eyes. He knew he couldn’t hide it from you any longer, no matter how much he wished he could.
“Talk to me, please.”
You moved closer again but he stepped back when you reached out for him as if he were afraid you’d figure it out if you so much as touched him.
You didn’t want to believe it but you were a profiler, you studied human behaviour for a living and you’d been watching Spencer for some time now, determined to find a way to help ease his pain.
It was a truth you were reluctant to believe but, if you were right in your conclusion it meant things were worse than you’d initially thought.
A part of you didn’t want to confront him about it but as you’d stood there with him you knew you had to.
“Take off your jacket.”
His eyes snapped back up to yours and he looked afraid. Not of you, but of what you were asking. Of what he knew you would find.
“W-Why?”
You didn’t answer him because you knew he knew why. Instead, you simply stood waiting for him to do as you had asked.
His eyes drifted from yours and he shook the clothing from his shoulders, turning for just a moment to put it down.
When he turned back to face you, your hands were already reaching for his arm and oh-so-gently pulling the sleeve of his shirt up.
“Oh, Spencer.” It came out in a gasp as your hand covered your mouth, heart breaking at what you had discovered.
Tears began to prick at your eyes as you softly ran your thumb across his skin, careful not to press over any of the marks that littered his arm.
“I’m sorry.” His voice was quiet, broken.
All of a sudden you found yourself lunging at him as you threw your arms around his fragile frame, holding him tight as if to try and tell him it was okay.
You still didn’t want to believe it, the guilt was eating you alive. You should have noticed sooner, you should have been there for him, you should have known. But there was no way you could have, not when he didn’t want you to know. He had been hiding this from you, from everyone. He didn’t want anyone to know.
It wasn’t your fault, yet that was little comfort to you.
He’d been using this whole time. Even now, in your own home, yet you weren’t angry with him. How could you be when this was of no fault of his own? You knew it had been Tobias who had done this, who had given him his first dose. If Spencer had had any say in it, he would have never gone near it.
You cried into his vest. holding him so tight you were almost afraid he’d struggle to breathe, yet his arms soon began to wrap themselves around you too as his body began to softly shake.
Together, you cried for what felt like an eternity as he was finally forced to face what he had become.
When you finally parted, he was wracked with guilt once again.
“Please, y/n. You can’t tell anyone.”
You finally worked up the courage to look him in the eye again and, when you did, you found your expression softening once again. “You need help, Spencer.”
Skittishly, he nodded his head. “I-I know but if they find out I could lose my job. I-I could-“
“Hey, it’s okay. We’ll figure this out. I promise. We’ll talk about it tomorrow, okay? When you’re sober. You can stay here tonight, I don’t want you going home by yourself, but I need to know, Spencer: do you have any more with you right now?”
He gulped and reached for his bag, pulling out two more doses. Although he was hesitant, he passed them to you. The moment they were in your hand you found yourself tearing up again and so did he.
“I’m sorry, y/n. I’m so, so sorry.” He buried his face in his hands, too ashamed to look at you.
Without a second thought, you hugged him again before slowly coaxing him to your bedroom. You helped him get somewhat comfortable, although he would have to sleep in his clothes, and tried to calm him down. You just wanted him to know he was safe and that you were there for him, no matter what.
“I’m going to get rid of these, get some sleep, okay?”
His eyes searched yours for any sign that you were going to leave only to call Hotch but he could see the sincerity in your eyes, he knew you weren’t going to do that. Not yet, at least. So, he nodded and closed his eyes, deciding to leave his fate in your hands.
A part of you suspected that Hotch already knew. He was far more experienced than you, after all. If you could see the signs then surely he could too. The only thing you couldn’t understand was why he hadn’t done anything about it.
Perhaps he too knew Spencer would likely lose his job or, at the very least, need to take time off of work to recover. Maybe he couldn’t afford to not have him on the team. Or, maybe he trusted Spencer to work through it on his own. Either way, you were angry that no one had done anything to help him.
So, with shaky hands, you poured the bottles down the drain and went back to his bag, digging through it to make sure there was nothing left. He had told you the truth and given you all he had with him. Still, you took the needles to dispose of them too.
When you returned to your room, he was already fast asleep.
You brushed his hair from his face, wanting to check he was okay, and whispered more to yourself than to him, “We’ll get you clean, Reid. I promise.”

a special gift
Tumblr media
spencer reid x fem! reader
summary ;
a gift for the birthday boy!! happy 41 spence <3
warnings ;
smut
You were close, way too close. Clenching, heavy breathes, slowing movements, he knew this as well. “You gonna cum for me?” The soft traces of his lips danced delicately on your skin, peppered kisses wrapped around the neck, you bit your lip, eyes fluttered shut and your toes curled at the feeling that tranced your whole body.
A single gasp was all that you needed to let loose before you were collapsing against Spencer. Chest against chest, face buried into the warm flesh of his neck, you were burning. The churning in the depths of your stomach were ablaze, the last coil snapped and you were on fire. “Fuck! Oh — I’m cumming, I’m cu-“
Nails racked softly in his hair, grabbing onto the locks when small bursts of your orgasm hit. A gasp here and there, you breathed in his sweat in every sharp inhale, damp babyhairs stick to your flushed face, humidity hit you instantly and all you could feel was Spencer’s calloused fingertips feathering on your spine, coaxing you, overstimulating — And you loved every second of this bliss.
A few more mummers slipped from Spencer’s lips before he let go. A slight arch in his back with eyes fluttering shut. A sight to admire.
“Happy Birthday, Spence.”
