Slipping on Your Sleeves
Tumblr media
Pairing: Spencer reid x fem!plus-size/mid-size!reader
Category: Fluff
Summary: Spencer can’t get enough of his girlfriend’s clothes
Word count: 2k
Warnings: curse words, alluding to sexual acts, body-negative thought
a/n: This is my first time posting a fic here! I’ve always wanted to get into sharing my writing, and I’m absolutely obsessed with Spencer. I hope you enjoy it, and I appreciate any critique! Sometimes whenever I would wear clothes of guys I was with, their clothes would be too small on me, and I feel like Spencer just breaks all the norms cause he would be obsessed with showing his love. Anyway enjoy, and hopefully more writing to come :)
----------------
Spencer was obsessed with the smell of you. The sweet, saccrine, warm air of your perfume would infuse lovingly with your natural scent to create the lasting presence of you everywhere you went. Although his memory was perfect, he loved the tangible reminders as you left impressions of you all over his apartment, sheets, body, and heart. He could feel those reminders of you on your clothes especially.
Although you and Spencer were not living together (yet), you would spend so much time at each other’s places that you started doing your laundry together to save effort. It’s when you started mixing the washes that you noticed clothes of yours would go missing. You thought pieces were just getting lost in the shuffle between your place and his, but you saw pieces would be coming out of the dryer that you never put into the hamper in the first place.
Spencer would never consider himself the type to take someone’s things without asking, but one morning as you left his apartment in a rush to get to work, you had left your scarf haphazardly on the kitchen counter from where you had obviously meant to grab it from. As he was folding it for you to find when you got back, that delightful cinnamon scent you wore wafted up to his nose and he felt a buzzing of warmth as helt the smell filling him up. On an impulse, he wrapped it around his neck and headed off to work. They ended up getting called away for a case in Seatlle, and for all 3 cold and rainy days there he wore your scarf. He was the most relaxed he had every been while working a triple homicide.
After realizing the calming effects your clothes seem to have on him, the next time he was over he ‘borrowed’ one of your sweatshirts. He quietly picked it off of the floor where he had thrown it in his haste to get your body, the sound of your giggling shrieks turning to pretty pitched moans playing in his head as he pulled it up to his face to soak in the smell. Just like with the scarf, the smell loomed up and wrapped him in your cacoon again as he took it in close and felt attached to this piece of you. Although the real you was lying right there, he needed to create a tangible memory of it. With his eidetic memory, everything sticks whether he wants it to or not. He never used to spend time creating a memory in his head until he met you. He would stare at your face, your smile, the way your hair fell, all the words you spoke to him: he took the time to take in the memory of you, getting to savor you in the now so he can enjoy the replay in the future.
That sweatshirt would be worn by him at night in his empty hotel room while he would click those memories back into place and replay them. The scenes in his head surrounding him made it easier to feel as though you were there, and getting to have a piece of you with him made him feel as though a part of you was there waiting to be taken in. He would take in all parts of you for as long as he could until you got sick of him. He was so obsessed with you sometimes he could feel a physical pain having to be away from you.
This continued on for quite sometime, taking a shirt there and pair of sweats there. When it was his turn to do the laundry, he would sneak the item back in after it lost it’s scent and place it back in your closet so you would wear it again. Spencer would stick to taking things you wouldn’t often notice, but this time he couldn’t stop himself from taking one of your favorites. This one smelled less like your perfume, and instead carried only your most natural scent which made him absolutely feral. The shirt hung on his small frame, and it was an encouraging reminder of you wrapped all around him. He should have known you would notice it missing, but the more instinctual side of him didn’t care.
“Spencer,” you start, coming out in the living room where he was reading, “have you seen my shirt? The one that says ‘Ocean City’ on it?” You see the blush instantly creep up his neck as his mouth opens and closes coming up with a response. His eyes have widened and he looks a little like a deer caught in headlights. “Spencer? Have you seen it?” Still no answer from him. You were worried why he looked so anxious so you attempted to appease him: “It’s okay if you haven’t seen it, but I’ve just been looking for it.”
“I have seen it.”
“Oh okay…did you put it in another drawer or something?”
He lets out a sigh, realizing that he should just come clean. It’s not like it was the most perviest thing in the world, but he was worried about how you might perceive him wanting to wear it. He’d always hear about girlfriend’s stealing their boyfriend’s clothes all the time, not really the reverse. Most of his items however didn’t fit you as he often wore pieces that fit to his slight frame, they would be tight on your curvier frame. The first night he offered you a sleep shirt he had when you forgot to bring something, his heart broke at the obvious discomfort you felt trying to pull it down in what you thought would make him happy and he could see the negative thoughts about yourself that were beginning to form in your head. He shut it down instantly by removing his clothes and suggesting you both just sleep naked. Flat on his back with your soft tummy against him and your thick warm thighs wrapped around him, he never wanted to sleep with clothes being a barrier between you two again. The next day, he went out and bought extra blankets so that he could do this every night without cold being an issue.
Spencer braced himself and pulled off his hoodie and he revealed underneath the exact shirt you were looking for: “I was wearing it sorry.”
Your eyes widened as you connected the dots: “Wait, I have had clothes go missing in and out for months…have you been taking them?”
“Yeah, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to take your clothes. It’s just that one time you left your scarf behind and I wore it during a-uh a case and it smelled like you and your perfume and god it gave me this like head rush and it started to feel like you were there. Then next I took a sweatshirt, and then from there it sort of started escalating because I found I couldn’t go to sleep in hotel rooms without wearing them or um sometimes I uh uh- would just like hold them. Not in a creepy way! Just to have the smell, and they were soft and it reminded me of how soft and beautiful you are and I loved how big they are on me because it makes me feel safe like you’re there with me? Like how good it feels when you lay on me and your body is covering mine and-” he cut his rambling off when he noticed the smile on your face. It was splitting, and then his eyes caught the dilating of your eyes.
You had taken in what Spencer had said and you could feel your heart exploding with how absolutely sweet it was that he wanted you there and he wanted to wear your clothes. You weren’t often insecure about your size, but sometimes it was difficult to not note that you were bigger then Spencer. You had expressed these feelings to Spencer and he had listened intently, never wanting to ignore or diminish how you felt, but after he laid you down on the bed and showed you exactly how much he loved your size and every part of you. Every moment since he had proved how much he loved the way you look, and you started to believe it when you noticed he wasn’t only doing it to make you feel better. When you were lying on the bed or the couch, he would run his hands over all parts of you, and would special time on the areas that he knew you hated and graced them with his hands with so much care and need it made your head spin. When he thought you weren’t looking, you caught him staring at your ass and the way it would move when you walked. He would love fucking you from behind as he would stare mesmermized at the way it bounced against his pelvis. He would drink in your body not only in the sheets, but when you were simply existing in the house, or out running errands. His absolute favorite is when you would lie directly on top of him on lazy afternoons and he would hold you close, pressed against him to just feel you in a non-sexual way. It made him feel like he was soaking in all the love you had for him, and in return able to express without a word how emotionally safe you made him feel. He wanted to keep finding ways to show you just how special you were to him because nothing could ever really get to the all consuming feeling he had.
You loved this blushing, adorable man in front of you with all your being. Him wearing your clothes was doing something to you: the realization that he had found yet another way to show you he adored all of you. The thought he wanted to feel you all the time, could never seem to have enough of his fill of you made you feel sexy and confident. It underlined the equal obsession you two had for each other.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” he asked, his nerves worsening.
“My god Spencer, you look so hot wearing my clothes.” The surprise on his face was evident.
“I-I do?” His stuttering just putting the icing on top of how badly you needed him at that moment.
“Yeah Spencer, you do. You look like you’re mine,” you walk up to him slowly until you reach him and run your hands down his chest, “you like the reminder of me, huh? You like weaning my shirts to remind yourself you’re all mine?”
“Yes.” He said with no hesitation, albeit in a cracked whisper that he often had the first moments whenever your hands were on him. Usually Spencer was the one who took the lead in the bedroom, but that dominating side of him always took a second to come out because he would need to take a second to take in the fact that all of your you, wanted him. For as long as he had you, he would never be able to get over that initial shake in his heart that found your love unbelievable.
You leaned in and gave him the softest kiss against the spot where his neck and shoulder connected, and the smell of you on the clothes permitted by the smell of his body being pressed to it connected and wafted into your nose.
“Ugh Spencer, I can smell me on you. We mix really well together don’t we?” you glided your hands down his arms and connected them to where his hands had ended up gripped to your waist: “Why don’t you take off that shirt and show me who you belong to?”
In a swift move Spencer lifts you up over his shoulder, shrieks of surprise piercing his ear. He laid one hand on your legs to keep you steady, and another splayed across your ass to both hold and leave an imprint.
“I think I need to take of your shirt first baby: my collection is getting a little thin.”

In The Sunset: Aaron Hotchner and Y/N
Tumblr media
Summary: Prompt- Dancing alone or with a partner.
Author's Notes: If you want to watch Thomas Gibson teaching a fair maiden to dance, I strongly suggest you watch The Inheritance. You’re welcome in advance. Side note, I have no idea how to dance. The Bullpen was uniquely silent for a Friday evening. It was rare the BAU had an air of hush about it, but tonight was the exception. The whole BAU had been invited to a local fundraiser the FBI was hosting to raise money for various projects to improve task forces. The invitation instructed black tie with the promise of live music in an impressive ballroom. Free cocktails and nibbles if you could pay the entry fee. There would be an auction to bump up the total impressively. It was the kind of event that the mayor and high-end brass of the FBI would be attending. Y/N toyed with the idea of going; she even had a dress picked out. It was an old dress admittedly, but she rarely had a chance to wear it. It might as well be new. But as the week progressed and the event got closer, Y/N found the thought of going to be too intimidating. It wasn’t her usual thing, too formal and high class. So, when all the others left early to get ready, she lied and said she had some extra paperwork that had to be in by tomorrow. They all waved goodbye and said they would see her later at the event. Y/N decided not to tell them she wasn’t planning on going. It would only provoke a loud conversation of them trying to convince her to change her mind.
The summer sun began to set, the light trickling in through Hotch and Rossi’s windows. It was a rare moment of bliss in the walls of the BAU. Usually, they were coated with anxiety and the worse crimes of man. However, this evening, they were coated in warm golden honey. The rays of light danced across the bullpen and made Y/N sigh happily. All she was missing was a drink, and then she could really delve in and relax. Her last bit of paperwork was almost finished and the promise of a quiet drink on her balcony spired Y/N to type faster and print out a copy for Hotch’s desk. She hadn’t seen him leave but she hadn’t heard or seen any movement from his office either. He must have gone by now.
The crisp white paper shot out from the printer, stained with black writing and reports from their last case. She wrapped it up neatly in the standard FBI folder and made her way across the bullpen’s floor. The sun was still glowing blissfully across the room, pushing Y/N to move quicker. A quick stop to Hotch’s office and then she could head home. She pushed the door open and headed for his desk.
“Y/N?” Y/N jumped as she turned around and saw Hotch following her into his office. He was dressed in freshly ironed black trousers and a blazer she hadn’t seen before. A tie hung loosely around his neck, not yet knotted and fastened.
“Hotch! You scared me!” she laughed; her hand pressed to her beating heart.
“Sorry,” he smirked. “I didn’t know anyone else was still here.”
“Neither did I.” Y/N laughed. “I was just dropping off my report.” Hotch stepped forward, taking the file from her hand, a waft of fresh cologne floating towards her.
“It’s not due until Monday.” He frowned.
“I know but, I thought I’d get a jump on things.” Y/N shrugged. Hotch’s eyes glazed over her face, considering, and buying her words. “You look nice.” She offered, hoping to get the attention off her. Hotch looked down at himself and tried to hide his blush.
“Thank you,” he said quietly. “You’ll want to get going, get ready for tonight.”
“Oh no, I’m not going.” Y/N laughed. She didn’t expect Hotch to try and convince her to change her mind. He didn’t seem the type to go to these events either, she couldn’t imagine he would be going if he had the choice.
“Why not?” he asked, genuinely shocked and possibly disappointed.
When Hotch walked into his office, he had been surprised to see Y/N standing there. She was still in the office when he retreated to the men’s locker room to change and shave his face in the bathroom sink. He expected her to be gone by the time he returned. She wasn’t at her desk when he stepped back into the office so assumed she had finally left. But as he walked in, the amber light flooding the room and illuminating her skin and hair beautifully, he couldn’t imagine ever failing to notice her presence. He wasn’t pleased about going to the event tonight, it was far from his cup of tea. But he had to admit, the thought of seeing Y/N in a beautiful gown and perhaps even earning himself a brief dance had made the idea seem more bearable. She had just shattered that whole idea by laughing and saying she wasn’t going.
“Well…” she stuttered awkwardly. “I haven’t really got the money to bid on anything in the auction and I’d just end up sitting at the table all evening.”
“You wouldn’t dance?” he asked curiously. He had pictured her being the type that was drawn to a dance floor, to close her eyes and sway to the music. Y/N just laughed awkwardly.
“Unless it was macarena, I don’t think I’d know how.” She blushed, ducking her head into her chest, and tucking her hair behind her ear. “To say I was an awful dancer would be an understatement.”
“I highly doubt that.” He smiled lightly, finding her bashfulness suddenly adorable. She shrugged. Hotch looked at her vulnerable smile before glancing out into the Bullpen. He breathed in deeply to brace himself before stepping further into his office. “Here.” He offered, reaching his hand out.
Y/N looked up at his large, outstretched hand. She followed the limb up his arms, across his shoulders and up to his eyes. His dark, kind and inviting eyes as he nodded reassurance. Y/N felt her nervous chuckle escape her lips quietly as she placed her small hand in the centre of his palm. They stepped forwards to one another, chests a comfortable distance. Aaron took Y/N’s hand and placed it softly on his shoulder, pulling her slightly closer again. His hand settled firmly on her waist whilst he entwined their spare palms. “Start with your right foot. You step backwards as I step forwards.” Y/N nodded; brow furrowed as she homed in her concentration. “And… 1,2,3,4…” Hotch counted in a whisper as he led their movements back and forward. Her head stayed looking down at her feet, grip loose in his hand. “Close your eyes.” He hushed gently. She snapped her head up and looked at him with confusion. The warm evening sunset within full effect now, dipping him in orange and golden tones. It made his eyes glitter and creases in his usually frowned face soften. He was looking back at her. He looked at her so deeply and strongly that it made the air run out of her lungs. “I’ve got you.” He promised.
When her eyes shut, he felt her hand tighten in his, not trusting herself to move without falling. “1…2…3…4…” he continued to count. Her breathing softened in the steady rhythm as they moved, the lines on her forehead smoothen out as she relaxed. He could see her slightly parted lips move to silently count along with him, her eyelashes casting deep shadows across her cheeks in the sunset. He yearned to see her eyes, the beautiful shades of colour that rotated through her irises. “Y/N,” he whispered slowly. They stopped moving, stopped dancing but kept their embrace firm on one another. She opened her eyes and finally, he saw her beautiful eyes in the filter of the sunset. "Come tonight." she was silent for a moment. Hotch prepared himself for the rejection, her stepping away and mumbling some sort of apology.
“Okay.”

my visas headcanon hits extra hard to me bc she has to fight both the exile AND nihilus. like she (and kreia but in a bit of a different way) are used to fighting things that they are blind to, but the force compensates for that. if the exile and nihilus are these force voids that create like no sensory input (which is why i always make kirnet a jedi watchman bc of the stealth element) except for the influence AROUND them, then fighting them must be fucking. horrifying.

Hi love <3!
I was wondering if you’d feel comfortable with writing something with the bat-family finding out that the reader has like, the abilities to transfer injuries to themselves.
Like, one of them is hurt and reader just rips their gloves off mid mission and drops to their side, transferring the injury to themself. Bonus points if they automatically transfer some psychological trauma as well? And maybe reader avoiding talking about it and stuff, the family finally seeing the countless scars that reader got because of their power.
(This is has been stuck in my head for forever and I’ve never seen anyone write the bat-family as good as you do, so <3)

Note: I've literally wanted to write something like this for ages! thank you for requesting ❤️ also tumblr was throwing a tantrum and not letting me put the image I wanted as a header so you get a GIF instead :(

⛤ BATFAM MASTERLIST ⛤
“Robin!”
The scream ripped itself from your throat as you saw him drop to the ground. The crook stood over him, removing the dagger that dripped with crimson red from where he had plunged it into Damians thigh. You practically launched yourself across the street as he fled, dropping to his side. He clutched feebly at the wound, eyes screwed up in pain. Your hand hovered over the wound as he cried out in pain gawping at the open wound. Blood gushed from the deep wound staining the concrete.
“Hold on Robin, you’re gonna be fine.” you told him as you tore off your gloves and discarded them on the ground.
Then, pressing your hand firmly over the wound and wincing at his shout of discomfort, you began to heal the wound. It was a strange sensation that no matter how many times you felt, you never seemed to get used to. The tingling ran up your arms but quickly replaced by an agonising burn as Damian’s wound began to heal on his skin and began to appear beneath your thigh beneath your suit. You bit your lip to hold back the cry as you watched the gaping wound close leaving behind nothing but shiny new skin and another hole in his suit for Alfred to patch up.
Damian pushed himself up onto his forearms to regain his composure when he felt the pain dissipate from his body. Around you, the rest of the vigilantes were still battling the criminals who seemed to be flanking in from every possible angle. You helped him to his feet, asking if he was alright as you pulled on your gloves. He gave you a brief nod of thanks before dashing off with his katana in hand to help his family. You staggered behind him trying to hide the limp that you had developed from the wound. You could already feel it healing; one of the many perks of your abilities, but it still hurt like a bitch. But you pressed forward anyway, gripping your weapon tightly to help with the fight.
You had had much worse. Much much worse. Like that one time that Joker had captured Tim…you took all of his injuries. But the thing is, with injuries come memories. Each cell carries its own story. And every time you take on a wound, you take on some of the trauma that comes with it. It's not your own, but it feels so real. The images play inside your head on loop like a movie often cropping up at the worst times. The worst time was when Jason died. Although when he returned he was physically healed, he was still struggling; scarred by the memories that haunted him. So, when he started recklessly patrolling and you had offered to heal him, you took away as much of it as you could.
Sometimes it was the memories that hurt more than the actual wounds themselves. To see and feel what they had been through broke you completely. The torment that Jason had been through that you had seen was something you couldn’t even muster up the words to describe. You couldn’t imagine what he went through and you would never be able to heal him completely, but you were glad you could help him as much as you could. Glad you could take away any of their pain even if it meant that you had to feel it for them.
They didn’t know this. You had kept it somewhat hidden from them. The vigilantes knew you could heal wounds, but they didn’t know that you took on the injury. And you wanted to keep it that way because you knew that if they found out they would just stop you from doing it and you would be left feeling useless on the sidelines.
Nightwing dropped down beside you, noting your slight limp as you fought against the criminals. They seemed to be thinning out now with the five of you fighting them. They either fled or dropped to the ground like flies.
“You alright?” He asked, swinging a right hook and sending a guy wielding a crowbar. You winced at the sight of it, hit with Jasons memories again.
“Fine.” You grunted out as you blocked another oncomer.
“You sure? You’re favouring your left side.”
God damn you, Grayson.
“Fine. Just took a hit is all but it’ll heal quickly. You know me.”
He eyed you uncertainly. He knew you were lying but he dismissed it. Dick had always had a suspicion that more happened to you than you let on but he had never pressed you to talk about it. Though, he was going to find out much sooner than you had hoped.
~
You stared at the scab on your thigh in the mirror; it would soon become a new addition to the tapestry of scars that covered your body. It was ragged, torn and an ugly reminder of the blade that stuck out of the young Wayne’s leg. Some of the scars that marred up your smooth skin were yours, though most of them once belonged to the boys.
The scars flecked almost every inch of your body, all varying in size and shape. Some were small and round, others long and jagged and some in between. And though the scars saved your boys, you couldn’t sometimes help but wish that you weren’t left with them. Sometimes, it all became too much. For example when you healed a wound that had been forced upon them in such a brutal way that you would lie awake for hours with your eyes squeezed shut tight as you curled up on your bed waiting for the haunting memories to pass. Although your abilities meant that you healed quicker, sometimes you were still left managing the wound for days as it healed whilst still trying to hide it from the boys. You suffered in silence, often pondering if you should just tell them… but you never did. And it was worth it because seeing them okay put a smile on your face.
You didn’t like to talk much about your abilities and how they worked, no matter how much they pressed you. Everytime the topic was brought up you would go quiet, or quickly change the subject, trying not to let the feelings resurface. You buried them deep to keep your secret.
“You okay, kid?” Jason frowned as you walked into the library, poorly disguising the last of your limp. He was lounging on one of the couches as he delved into one of Bruce’s many hardbacks.
“Yeah I’m fine.” you dismissed, running your finger over the spines as you scanned the shelf for something to read to try and give yourself something to do for a few hours while your leg continued to heal.
“You said that earlier.” Dick poked his head around the door, noting the way you tilted most of your weight onto your left foot as you stood on your toes to grab a book. “Your leg still bothering you?”
“A little, but it’s healing.” You shrugged, taking your book over to the couch and settling beside Jason.
The eldest Wayne frowned, forcing wrinkles onto his forehead. “Shouldn’t a hit have healed by now?”
You cursed mentally. “It was a nasty hit.”
“You know, thinking about it didn’t Damian take a knife to the thigh?” Jason asked.
“Yes.” Damian appeared in the doorway with Tim. “Y/N healed me though.”
“Strange.” Dick noted, tilting his head to look at you. The four of them had had a suspicion for a little while that something was going on. The way you avoided the topic was like having a sign waving above your head.
“... it’s just a coincidence.”
“Just like the time you injured your arm training after healing my broken one?” Tim had you stuck.
You bit your lip in the silence of the room.
“Fine. Maybe I haven’t been totally honest with you all.”
Jason sat up and leaned forwards in his seat “Go on.”
You took a deep breath, preparing for their onslaught as you revealed the truth. “When I heal a wound, it doesn’t just…vanish.” The four of them watched you intently and you could feel a sheen of sweat try to break out across your forehead. “It transfers to me instead.”
Damian stared at you agape “But…”
“You’ve healed us so many times.” Dick said. “That's gotta be…”
Tugging your hoodie over your head, you revealed the scars to them for the first time. Tim had to hold back his shock.
“Oh y/n/n…” The vigilantes all looked at the countless scars that covered your skin.
“They’re not all yours.” You tried to lighten the mood, albeit it seemed to have little effect.
“How have we been letting you do this? We should have know-”
“Stop.” You shut Tim down. “This is exactly why I didn’t want to tell you. Healing you is… special. Making sure that you guys get to live another day is more important to me than anything.”
“But you’re hurting yourself…” Damian said shyly, feeling incredibly guilty.
“It doesn’t hurt bad. My accelerated healing means I can get rid of wounds that would take weeks for you to heal in a number of days. Sometimes hours. I like helping you.”
The boys narrowed their eyes at you. They were sceptical however they could see the truth behind it. You were selfless; always giving to others in need. They didn’t like that you were being hurt because of their recklessness, and they were angry with themselves that you felt you couldn’t tell them the truth, but they could see the reasoning behind it.
“Besides” You added. “I think the scars are pretty cool. Like a piece of artwork. And I can use them to blackmail you in the future.” You grinned.
“Tt.” Damian rolled his eyes. “They are pretty cool though…”
There was a nod of agreement.
“Thank you. y/n/n.” Dick said. “I honestly don’t know what we would do without you.”
“Bleed out and die probably.” You joked and he hummed with laughter.
“On a serious note,” Dick added “We have seriously got to stop getting hurt so much.”

The Pug is a skiv of a planet that seems to have been forgotten by time itself.
Its once-gleaming skyscrapers now stand as towering monuments to a bygone era; their facades stained with the grime of countless rotations. The feculent streets below are a tangled web of concrete and steel, where the lurid neon glow of Vayok advertising signs cast flickering shadows on the faces of the downtrodden masses.
The air of Puggert Bench is thick with the acrid stench of industry, a noxious cocktail of pollutants and toxic fumes that hang heavy over Noki District like a thick shroud.
The sound of machinery echoes through the streets, a constant reminder of the ceaseless churn of production that drives the small planet's rototiller economy, despite being nothing more than a mechanical layover for most passing through on freighters.
Despite the harshness of its environment, Puggert Bench is a livable place of vibrant contrasts. Here, lander pods zip past rusting hulks of abandoned ship corpses, their sleek orbs cutting through the smog with effortless grace.
The cloud stream, blocking out the sun in a haze of burnt umber that chokes you when it sticks to the back of your throat, carries on the breeze through the air into your nasal cavity as you breathe in. When you blow your nose later, black shit will present itself to you in your tissue, unless you wrap up with a mask or scarf whilst outside.
For every gleaming skyscraper and bustling marketplace, there are a dozen dark alleys and forgotten corners where the lawless thrive. In the shadows of the city's turgid underbelly, criminal syndicates and black-market traders ply their illicit loot prospected from alien moons; their activities hidden from the prying eyes of the less-than-honourable authorities.
Everyone is fair game in this place.
A place, where walking by yourself late at night probably isn’t a wise idea, but when left with little choice as your shift runs over - again - you brave it head on, picking up your often wonky steps with a hurried pace.
You’ve walked this grimy thoroughfare countless times, memorising the way with muscle memory. You wrap your fraying scarf round your face, cutting out the tar that burns on your tongue.
A slight drag on your gait, an itch surfaces where the buckles rub at your skin around your left knee joint. You stop, pinching and digging your fingers in over your pants to tug out the relief from the burn of the itch.
With each step, you’re reminded of the weight that bears down upon you - the prosthetic limb pressing back against your prickly marred skin with a relentless intensity. The artificial joint, no matter how seamlessly it's been integrated with your body, still causes a continual dull ache that reverberates through your bones with every movement.
You can switch it off sometimes, but the hard pavement beneath you seems to magnify every twinge of discomfort, every jolt that sends shockwaves of thudding pain coursing through your remaining upper limb with every step you take.
You’re still toying with the idea of trading it in for a bionic model, but the foreboding cost and invasive surgeries to wire it into your nerves - that come with their own horrific testimonials of those who’ve had it done, and done badly - far outweighs any desired practicality. Instead you navigate life with the callouses and blisters, used to them being part of your daily routine.
Slipping your fingers between the buckles offers minimal, sweet respite for a few blissful moments as you scratch, when suddenly, a hand shoots out from the darkness, grabbing you roughly by the arm and yanking you into a secluded alcove; the brick walls slick with the sweat of the city.
Before you can react, a gruff voice growls in your ear, sending a chill down your spine.
"Your credits. Now!" The assailant demands, his putrid breath hot against your neck as he presses a sharp object against your side.
Panic surges through your veins as you fumble for your wallet, your hands trembling with fear as you forget momentarily which pocket it’s in.
He shoves his hand in the pocket closest to him, rooting around in there uncouthly as you protest and struggle.
You’re both disturbed when a shadowy figure emerges from the darkness, with a quiet determination.
The newcomer is a man of imposing stature, his features obscured by the billowy hood of his tattered coat, and a facial scarf of his own that covers his nose down to his chin.
But what catches your attention most is the sight of his empty right sleeve, the fabric of his coat pinned haphazardly against his shoulder where his arm should be.
“I’d rethink that course of action, unless violence with a matched counterpart is what you're getting at.” The man warns in a steady, yet rich Southern drawl.
Your mugger mouths some regurgitated insult in Vayok. You don‘t fully speak it, but you know enough to know he’s mocking the obvious disability of the man, who simply chortles in response to a jibe he’s probably heard before.
But you're left wondering in bewilderment at how your apparent saviour will pull this off.
“You assume this handicap is to my detriment? Are you sure you wish to find out how inaccurate that misinformed assumption is?”
Undeterred by his physical limitation, the man squares his shoulders, his gaze locks on the attacker with unwavering resolve; a pair of dark eyes shining defiantly in the dim light of the alley.
In a matter of moments, fisticuffs ensue. It happens so fast, you're unsure who threw the first hook. Seizing the opportunity, you break free from the thief's grasp and stumble away; your heart pounding in your chest as you watch the scene unfold before you.
You watch helplessly as the man’s coat is torn where it’s previously pinned as they kerfuffle and tussle - the tear in the dirty fabric is deep. The one-armed man subdues your attacker, his movements fluid and precise despite his apparent infirmity.
But a surprise blow to the sternum knocks him down with a winded oof.
The bolt pistol is revealed; gleaming chromatic and pearly in the night air as it falls from the coat pocket of the man and skitters towards your feet.
A single squeeze on the trigger renders your attacker incapacitated, growling as he clutches his shoulder and stares up at you taking careful aim again.
The thief stumbles backward, his grip loosening on the man completely as he struggles to regain his balance. He’s all teeth and spittle as you watch the one-armed man take his hand - that’s still holding onto your wallet - and bends it back at a sickening angle.
The assailant yelps with the slow, deliberate cracking.
“Drop it, or I can assure you I’ll make it a more painful process than necessary.” The man warns.
The wallet clatters to the ground.
“Excellent. I suggest you hasten with speed to get your wound tended to, lest I change my mind about absolving myself from further violence.”
As the thief slinks away into the darkness, nursing his wounds and cursing under his breath, you turn to your saviour, your eyes wide with gratitude and dumbfounded admiration.
But he slumps down the wall clutching under his ribs, chest heaving.
“In Kevva’s name, woman!” He snarls when he sees you still taking aim.
Taking little risk, you keep a grip of the pistol, primed and ready.
“Yes,” he nods, breathing in raggedly. “Best to keep your wits about you, Birdie. There are all manner of beasties out here who would relish a chance to get you.” He sniffs deeply. “But tell me, do you treat all your saviours with the same warm welcome or am I the exception?”
“Can never be too certain.” You remark with a shaky hand. "It's like you say, all manner of beasties."
He looks at you like a dog sniffing out the other; sniffing out whether you’re a threat to him or not. Dark eyes preened on you and unrelenting.
“Keep it steady, pet.” He motions to the blaster with a subtle nod. “A weak grip makes an opportunity easy to exploit.”
You look at him suspiciously, two dark tar eyes regarding you back as he pulls down his scarf to breathe, and to show you his face for reassurance you assume, although the swampy air makes him cough and hack.
“Just some friendly advice.” He explains with a dull shrug. He sucks in air with a deep snort and spits out a globule of phlegm on the pavement.
“The mistake you make is assuming we’re friends.” You confirm confidently, although there's a tremor to your tone. Your body feels like jelly as you try to steady yourself.
“An underestimation I won’t make again, duly noted.” The man confirms as he struggles to stand upright himself.
“Do you need a hand?” You put to him as he struggles with balance.
He glares up at you with a rather repugnant look through cinched in brows. The two deep pits of his nostrils flare at you like black holes opening across the vacant universe that’ll swallow you whole.
“Sorry. Poor choice of words.” You quip, as you step towards his sneer. You remain steadfast with the bolt pistol, holding out your other hand.
He mutters fast under his breath, growling, and you don't catch it.
"What was that?" You query, suspiciously, arming the pistol again.
“Timid threats from a quashed maverick. I’m no harm to you, pet.” He holds his only palm out to you.
You take it and pull him upright to his feet. He passes your wallet to you with thick, grubby fingers and you surrender his bolt pistol in return, albeit reluctantly.
You shudder and gasp out, feeling the unrelenting burn around your prosthetic make itself known again; the adrenaline subsiding in your body.
“Quell your snivels. You remain unsullied. I'd garner that a win.” He says simply, noting your watery eyes. “He was nothing but a hungry brute.”
“Quite the hero, aren't you?” You remark with a scoff at his barbarous contempt towards you.
“Don’t mistake me for a gallant knight, I’m far from that. More of a superfluous hooligan, but I’m still a man with a mere iota of sympathy and respect for the superior species when they find themselves in trouble.” He eyes you carefully as you wibble about on your feet. “You're just a slip of a thing, why are you out so late wandering? Are you lost, little bird?”
“No. My shift… it ran over. This is my usual route home when there's no shuttle.”
“Do you often find yourself in trouble’s embrace?”
”Won’t be the first time, I'm sure.” You mutter.
“Unfortunate. I hear a surge-five is well on the way. Best be homeward.” He remarks with a click of his lips as he looks up at the glowering sky. The heavy swell of a incoming storm predicted is approaching in from the horizon in a cluster of almost onyx clouds.
His scowl softens as he looks back at you still trying to process the whole incident and remaining a little unsteady on your legs.
“I expect you to denounce the offer, but walking you back to your quarters would seem prudent, given the errant situation. I know I appear as a stranger to you, so I’ll respect your wishes if you decline.”
You don’t hear his words as you focus on remaining upright, trying to process the events.
“Oi. Woman. What say you?” He questions again, bringing you back to him.
“I can mend your coat.” You offer, fuzzing back in and your eyes fall on the large gaping flap on his right shoulder.
He looks down at the sleeve you nod to and a growl erupts from his lips at the tear. “That will be unnecessary.”
“Do you have another coat?”
“No.” He gruffs.
“Then it’s necessary.” You assert. “The surge-five is predicted to be harsh.”
He simply nods and drops his hood, shaking his head fully out from under it. An aquiline nose cuts a sharp line across his face, accentuating the aura of strength and intensity that surrounds him. But oddly, a small, messy blonde coiffure sticks out against his hairline, stark amongst a sea of dark oil-slicked tufts.
“I'm not holding out much optimism at your skill. The hole is quite impossible to simply mend.” He observes.
“You let me worry about my skill. I accept your offer of chivalry. It’s kind of you, thank you.” You say, with a pertinent nod.
“I’m not kind, pet, but the assumption is appreciated nonetheless.”
“Kind enough to walk me home and save me from losing my wage.” You tuck your wallet back into your jacket.
“I have enough on my conscience to reconcile with, let alone the thought of a woman of your calibre making it home in one piece.” He tucks the bolt pistol away inside his coat.
“My calibre?” You baulk.
“I meant it as a compliment, of course. Pretty thing like you out here is bound to attract some attention.” He says, eyeing your stance.
"Why are you out here anyway?"
“Minding my own. What’s your name, friend?”
You tell him and he nods. “Ezra.” He introduces. “I’m perplexed by your intentions.” Ezra replies flatly.
“All I offer is some tea and some respite from the incoming storm.” You say.
“Do you open your home to every vagabond you meet?”
“Only the charming ones.” You remark with a snort.
You’re convinced you see a grin turn up his lips. “No quid pro quo? Nothing is free, Birdie. Smart women like you, you know this.”
“I am smart. I offer you some food and drink and to patch up your coat, that’s all. I know very well you’re a stranger and could harbour ill intent despite this heroic facade you've presented.”
“It’s no facade.” He says with a frown.
“Good, because I have no qualms in putting a bolt in you should you try to turn on me, we clear?” You warn with a satisfied smirk.
"Been there, done that." Ezra eyes his stump with a wry grin before he rolls his eyes dramatically at your stern look. "Clear."
“I have my own bolt pistol back at home.” You warn.
“Oh, I’ve no doubt. The fire in your belly serves warning well enough, Birdie. I wouldn’t dream of any chicanery.”
“Then follow me, Ezra.” You say, with a brewing smile.
Tumblr media
Your tiny, poorly provisioned apartment is nestled in a nondescript building on the outskirts of the city.
A walk there that has you both absorbed in a mutual silence that offers a strange comfort, akin to the satisfaction of picking at a scab. Ezra mostly keeps his hand in his pocket and side glances you occasionally with parted lips as though he’ll say something, but doesn’t.
“Let me get you something for that.” You offer, as you note his knuckles when he takes them out of his pocket and pushes the rusted gate open for you.
“It’ll dry over soon enough.” He says, looking down at his bruised and bloodied fist.
“It’s cold and the winds are picking up.” You say, noting the ferocious sky churning overhead. “I’ll get the tea brewing. Come on up.”
“You’re not as frail as I first assumed. I must stop doing that.” Ezra mumbles as he looks you over.
“He took me by surprise. Had I been prepared, I might have thrown a hook or two.” You shrug. You note he hesitates behind you.
“Pertaining to the circumstances of our meeting, perhaps you might want to be alone?” You can sense the trepidation hanging around him; he’s wary of you and it pulls at something inside your chest.
“Come up, Ezra.” You repeat, ignoring him.
He lets go of the creaky gate behind him. “Far be it from me to deny a lady. Even if her taste is somewhat marred in misjudgement.”
“Something tells me I can trust you.”
“That would be your first mistake.” He assures.
“Well, this evening might surprise us both.” You say, as he follows up the steps behind you.
You take your time, hand sliding up the railing as he walks beside you. With each step, you focus intently on the movements of your prosthetic limb, adjusting your gait to compensate for its artificial nature.
You weight bear on your right side, loading your foot and keep your momentum forward up the stairs. You wince as you feel it rub uncomfortably again.
“Are you hurt?” Ezra asks as he examines your unhurried pace.
“No.” You shake your head with a rueful smile as you carry on.
The stairs, with their unforgiving surfaces and steep incline, pose a formidable obstacle, testing your resolve with each upward stride. The prosthetic, while marvellously engineered, lacks the finesse and flexibility of a natural limb, making each step a delicate balancing act between stability and control. The last thing you want to do is slip in front of him.
After you reach the eighth floor, slightly panting, he follows you round to the faded door of your apartment.
“Cosy,” Ezra retorts as he's introduced to your small, cramped world. “It's not often I’m rendered without speech.” Stacks of clutter balance precariously in columns on every available surface.
“I like to collect things.” You say nonchalantly.
“I can see that.” He counters, blinking as he steps through cautiously.
You hold your hand out expectantly for his coat and he hesitates.
“I can’t patch it if you’re wearing it.” You sway.
He slips it off his shoulders and you try not to look at the long sleeve that flaps without a hand at the bottom of it on his right side. His sweatshirt is terribly frayed and holey, and his pants seem loose and ill-fitting.
Boots that are at least a size too big for him clomp around his feet. His appearance, although broad and foreboding, also hints at the gaunt and destitute. There’s a peculiar smell emanating from him now he’s taken off his coat. Something sweetly rotten.
You beckon him through, tossing his heavy coat over your arm, and he follows you through to the living quarters; a stalwart room that overlooks the grimy city.
The air is thick with the scent of stale coffee and lingering incense spices, mingling with the faint hum of electronic devices scattered throughout the cluttered space.
You switch on an air purifier and remove your scarf revealing your face to him fully as you instruct him to make himself comfortable in the ragged recliner.
You busy yourself in the small kitchenette, chinking cups and getting out a tin of med supplies for his hand. You throw a couple of packets of freeze dry in the warmer and set a timer.
On the splintered coffee table in the centre of the room, stacks of dog-eared books and half-empty mugs vie for space with an assortment of trinkets and knick-knacks thrown clumsily over it.
He leaves through the pages of a hefty book on mining. “Light reading material?” Ezra queries as he tosses the book down.
“Call it a tempered curiosity.” You say, coming through with the cups and the tin shoved under your arm.
“Curiosity killed the feline.”
“Yeah, but it has nine lives.” You state boldly to him and he smirks.
“I could tell you all you need to know. Was my profession, a man’s work.” Ezra explains as he takes the mug from you. The heat immediately absorbs into his fingers.
“You're a Prospector?” You ask, with raised eyebrows.
“I was. Not much of anything now.” His lips downturn into the rim of the mug.
“Where are you from, Earth? You look the type.” You ask him, settling slowly and rigidly into a rickety chair opposite a sewing machine in the corner.
You lay out his coat on your lap and reach for a pin cushion. It smells musty and wild, like the outdoors.
“From that suppurate shit-hole? No. Sorry to disappoint.” He smirks.
“Where then? Lau? Your accent hints at relations from a primitive Earth.” You probe.
“You seem well acquainted with it.” He says, reaching for the med tin and flipping it open. He tears at the packet of an antiseptic pad with his teeth, spitting the paper out that sticks to his lip.
“I read.” You smile as you regard him.
A rugged moustache adorns his upper lip, its edges slightly frayed, combined with a shadow of facial hair, adding to an air of menace that might initially catch one's attention. His presence in the small, dimly lit room feels both enigmatic and imposing.
If you had to guess, you propose him to be within his early fortieth, to forty-third rotation, or thereabouts. His skin carries a layer of grime, a testament to the rigours of his endeavours.
“The memory of my origin is hazy at best.” Ezra shrugs, as he presses his knuckles against the moist swab he lays out on the coffee table. He hisses with the sting. “Home hasn't been a concept that I’m all too familiar with. Although I’m informed it was blue like Earth was before it was ravaged. It's been a long time since I was stationed in permanence. My bones have always been restless.” He leans back in the recliner and sips at the fragrant tea. “This tea… it harbours memories.”
“Regale me.” You entice, as you thread the bobbin on your machine.
He licks round his lips savouring the citrus taste. “Have you ever ventured to Kerulon?”
“No.” You shake your head.
“A pisser of a planet, why would you? I got waylaid there once, on my fuknugt ship. Stranded for a time, which seems to be the continual narrative for my story, but I digress. It’s a planet on the edge of The Fringe, known for its vast expanses of sand and scorching twin suns that never set. Not much there at all except for a slow, agonising death. But as luck would have it, amidst the dunes that stretched endlessly towards the horizon, I sought refuge in a humble desert oasis. A rare oasis of life amidst the harsh landscape, it was tended to by a group of nomadic travellers known as the Sand Dwellers. They offered me a generous cup of their signature orange tea - a brew infused with spices native to Kerulon's desert flora, I’ve come to suspect. Your tea reminds me of that cup of salvation.”
Ezra sips another mouthful loudly and hums with his eyes closed.
“I got it from the marketplace.” You chirp.
“Really? How uncanny… And where exactly did you procure that?” His pointer finger, stubby and long points to the glassy jewel on your shelf by the grimy window.
“I found it.” You shrug.
He scoffs as he approaches and reaches for it as though drawn under a spell. “Birdie, do you know what this is?”
“A pretty rock.” You say with a lazy mirth.
He stands and fondles the faceted cabochon inside his big palm, eyeing the blood amber middle. “Aurelac. You’re sitting on an abundance of riches.”
“I’m well aware of Aurelac and it’s worth on the black market.” You press on the pedal under the table, and the coat slides through your machine fluidly.
Ezra blinks, bewildered. “You know it’s worth, and yet you’ve abdicated it as a paperweight?"
"Mhm."
"Such a curious creature, unable to be bribed by gems in abundance. You must be the only one not to be swayed by the allure. And that’s a rarity.”
“I don’t need riches. If it matters so much to you, you take it.” You simply say with earnest eyes.
Ezra baulks and struggles to form words.
“You Prospectors are all the same. Vultures just picking at the sinew on the bone. I’ve yet to meet a Prospector who didn’t live up to the reputation of harbouring an unsatisfied greed. You’ve killed for that.” You look at the gem wrapped inside his whopping palm with disdain.
“I have, and indulged in deeds far worse.” Ezra nods with a sigh through his enrapturing verbosity. But also a drained voice that indicates he’s just plain sick of this shit now, sick of it all.
Ezra smirks, bearing teeth and a corrupt murmur slips out. “Your assumption is emphatically sound, little bird. It's like a disease, the siren song of Aurelac knows no bound or reason. A sane man would always be swayed to harvest and reap. I couldn't count on all of our combined digits the number of times I’ve made lewd choices in spite of my perseverance to merely covet the riches that the Kevva forsaken moon bequeaths under her ample bosom. I've spent a long time there suckling at the teat. It only pains me now to ponder my very justifications for it to begin with, purging the bowels of that fecund wood…” He trails off grinding his teeth and sighing as he examines the unspoiled gem shining in his hand.
As you work, Ezra's voice pierces the silence once more, each syllable laden with a poignant blend of resignation and acceptance.
“There was a time when spitting off the edge of the world was an arrogant riot; to pillage and plunder with luck and careless abandon, but now with spirited discourse, I’ve settled into a freefall back into the harsh shunt of The Fringe. Some of us have the proclivity for greatness, while most do not. I fear I’ve become the latter.”
You look up at him and his face bears the worn lines and creases of hard experience, etched deep by the sun and wind, giving him a weathered and world-weary appearance.
His prominent nose adds to the pastiche of mystery and arcane belligerence that hovers about his person. A scruffy beard adorns his jawline, adding to his rugged and no-nonsense demeanour.
Oily hair streaked with grey at the temples, falls in disarray around his forehead, but what catches the eye most is the striking patch of blonde amidst the darker strands at the roots.
It seems like the evidence of a possible birthmark born in the hair line, or could just be a fashion choice exalted in bad taste. You make a mental note to ask him later. But it adds a unique touch to his plotline in a twist of his devious character as you ponder him and his story.
“Such a beauty,” Ezra remarks, observing you as he twists the jewel around his thick, calloused fingers. “It’ll fetch you a good sum.” He simply returns the gem to the shelf, his eyes lingering on it long after it leaves his grip.
Your eyes graze down to the missing appendage, trying to fill in the gaps on his pages, as you place pins in your teeth.
“Ah.” He notices your lingering gaze. “Go on, ask away.” Articulating around his Southern inflection with deep flutters of his tongue, it scatters out of it like jagged diamonds from the mines of Ajaxia.
You smile. “Nothing to ask.”
“I’m not foul to you like this?” You sense that he loathes it. Wired bitter with the loss.
Despite the initial challenges and the occasional stares from strangers when your limp overtakes you when your prosthetic becomes unbearable to bear full weight on, you refuse to be confined by societal expectations or limitations.
You throw yourself into mundane life with unparalleled gusto, pursuing your work with a fervour that could inspire those around you if they weren’t so ignorant and assuming. A trait that might only embolden Ezra too, the more time he spends with you, if he cares to.
The thought of revealing your commonality with him rests idle on your tongue however.
Yet, beneath your fearless exterior, you can harbour moments of doubt and insecurity. There are days when the weight of your prosthetic feels heavier than usual, and the whispers of self-doubt threaten to overshadow your resolve. You recognise it too, in his dark eyes right now, fierce, but also harbouring that self-loathing and defeated eroding.
It’s different for you, you don’t miss what you’ve never had, you only know a life like this, but for him? To have had it and then lost it, you can feel the decayed emotion that it evokes pouring from him, even if he never says the words out loud.
You stand, approaching him with his coat patched and he raises his eyebrows. “Far from it. We might have a common depth.” You mutter.
“I fail to see anything we share in common. However, you have magic in you, no doubt.” He says, as he admires his mended coat. “Witchcraft.” He smirks, running his fingers over the neat stitches.
“You have a way with words.” You smile, reaching for your cup.
“A flair, so I’m told. Thank you.” He says earnestly to you, eyes big and round.
“I work in the textile factory, my job.” You explain as you disappear into the kitchen when the beeper from the warmer goes off.
“I was good with both my hands too, once,” he surmises bleakly. “What meat is this?” Ezra enquires, chewing slowly to savour the peculiar tang from the heated freeze dry meal that you’ve thrust at him with a spoon.
“Trog. At least that's what I tell myself. Makes it go down easier.” You remark.
“Never look a gift trog in the mouth, I suppose that’s good counsel.” Ezra shrugs and shovels in more, steadying the packet in his crotch for support; the warmth of it seeping into his thigh muscles and warming him pleasantly.
“I’ve some Bitz Bars if you'd prefer?”
He shakes his head. “If I never see a Bitz Bar again it’ll be too soon.”
The brief silence between you is disturbed only by the battering swell outside that has increased in its voracity in the last hour, and the soft chews and gulps as you both devour your meal in ensconced silence.
It’s a harmonious, off-key beat that serves as the background chime to your dining encounter. Discreet in your mutual voyeurism as you eat and steal curious, yet wary glances at one another.
You’re sitting at the small table with your sewing machine, whilst Ezra masticates on the recliner, albeit much slower, and negotiates a spoon in a hand that’s not ambidextrous in the slightest.
“Tell me where you learned your skill.” Ezra prompts around a spin cycle of meat.
“I have many. You’ll need to be particular.” You finger a newly discovered hole on your kneecap idly and frown at it. You can see a peep of leather from the buckle tarnished underneath.
“Oh, I don’t doubt that, pet.” Ezra smirks, as he chews through his mouthful and runs his tongue around his teeth dislodging pieces of meat; his dark eyes flashing to you briefly. “Specifically your skills with a needle,” he waggles his stump at you and his sleeve flaps about and knocks his pouch over. “Fucking tarnation!” He mutters, pissed.
You get up pliantly to assist him as he gathers the packet with quick snaps of his fingers. He spoon-scoops the contents off of his thigh, plopping the mounded heaps back into it, feeling the juice and gravy soak into his pants in a small, irritating patch.
“My grandmother taught me.” You say, dabbing at his thigh with a cloth.
He nods at you whilst continuing to alternate between cleaning himself of the spilled grains and meat, and eating it with good measure.
“Commit to a deal with me.” Ezra prompts after he swallows down the gristle.
“What kind of a deal?” You question, narrowly.
“I’ll tell you my story in its entirety and you regale me with yours in equal measure. Omit no detail too small.” Ezra declares.
“There’s really not much to tell. My life has not been spent roaming the Interplanetary digging up sparkly gems.” You remark.
“You sound bitter.”
“My hindrances keep me here.” You sigh.
“What hindrances?” He cocks his head at you.
“Tell me your story, Ezra.” You deflect as you settle back in the chair to eat.
Ezra smiles exaltedly. He relaxes back into the recliner after discarding the packet, whilst you listen keenly as he recounts how he came to be on the wretched moon with a group of like-minded individuals - rapscallions, as he refers to them - who were an entourage of the roguish sort.
Ragtag acquaintances he’d collected during his time prospecting many planets and satellites across the Interplanetary, but seemingly coming up short until The Green was set in his sights during the heights of the Aurelac rush.
Of course, man’s greed always complicates even the basics of well interpreted relations, and soon he found himself without his ship or his crew; most of them deciding to pick one another off over petty quarrels, whilst the successful of the rogues took to leaving the moon. And Ezra was stranded with nothing but a serious, yet mysterious being known only as Number Two, who filled the role of henchman to Ezra’s own smart, callous wit at genial leadership.
He reiterates to you, several times, that Number Two was not much of a conversationalist, much to his imminent dismay, so when he happened upon Damon, he informs you of the relief he felt to copulate wildly in words exchanged with a stranger, even if they weren't pleasantries.
It’s apparent to you, before he’s started to share his whimsical story, that Ezra has a rapt knack in kinking the tendrils of censorious intelligence and a dry sagacity that often blurs the lines of sarcasm and menace. Flowery, Southern treble clefs dance off of his tongue in a verbal, bewitching thrall, playing their music around your head in kaleidoscopic wonder.
The things he'd done, the things Ezra he'd lost, are all painted from his cracked lips for you to see and experience, unscathed in the most exquisite details and colour. Feeling as though you’re there with him by his side and witnessing the altered course into complete annihilation. He was sure he’d be abandoned by Cee in a warped juxtaposition that, even his attempts at atoning for his previous sins couldn’t seem to cleanse him of. He iterates wistfully that he should've seen it coming.
Ezra finalises the story with her gallant return and bringing him home rather than being left there to perish.
He’s notably candid when he speaks of his love for women - plural. He shares vulgar trysts about his many lovers on Luxillion, mostly whores whom he paid good credits for before he settled off on his wanderings, but who won't even entertain him now that he;s no longer whole. He mentions he occasionally dabbled freely in the delights of flesh with a fellow Y chromosome too; a flouted omission that makes your pores saturate at the outlandish, yet scandalous thought of it. His laying partners are of no prejudice.
Ezra is regimented in never speaking of an unrequited love nor a love that holds permanence inside of his beating organ of clogged ventricles. The closest Ezra has come to feeling an emotion akin to the desire to protect another is with the bolshie whippersnapper named Cee, who had saved him from his fate on The Green.
And then you, this very evening.
“What happened to her?” You enquire.
“Your guess is as good as mine. I woke up in a med bay and haven’t heard a whisper since. Skipped out with a sack full of gems. Good for her.” He remarks.
You watch as he winces and scowls down at his stump.
“Are you alright?” You query.
“Just an irritation" You watch as his lips curl back over his teeth. "Sometimes it… it feels as if it’s still there. Sears. Feels like I can still wiggle my fingers, the most peculiar thing.”
Nursing the aggravation is made small, as Ezra stares out at the window with a watery look making his scleras shine and the cords in his neck tense. Trying to push it to the back of his mind to be recycled into some distorted relief.
“That’s quite the story you shared.” You say.
“It’s but mine to keep. And now yours too, I guess.” Ezra sighs and winces again. “Do you happen to have anything for the burn?” He asks, feeling the pain grow and mutate from his wrangled nerves into his veins.
“I might have a tranq.”
“Bliss.” He says as you get up. He notices you take a moment to regain your balance, a slight limp to your gait as you make your way forward.
A large explosion-like sound is heard outside and you turn towards the window as the lights go out in your dingy apartment.
“Kevva’s wrath!” You gasp, a silhouette lit up by the purple lightning that rips terribly across the sky.
“Did something calamitous occur?” Ezra asks, standing too.
Aggressive thunder is heard rolling in once more as the rain pelts harder until it’s a tiresome skirmish battering the panes.
“Looks like a strike hit the fuse box. Whole District is out.” You say, hovering by the window.
“Perhaps it was a good call, your invitation.” Ezra says, a small smile unfolding on his lips.
“Mm. The rain is often acidic.” You retreat to the kitchen and find some medicine and some candles. Lighting a couple on the coffee table, you take a hold of Ezra’s sleeve after passing him the pill.
“Not a tranq unfortunately, but it might take the edge off.” You begin to roll his sleeve upwards.
“What are you doing?” He queries.
“Making it easier.” You say, softly. You pin it in place, and then fetch a spool and needle from your sewing table.
He watches, eyelashes fanned across his cheekbones as he stares down at your fingers working around the new hem of his sleeve you've created.
“I think I’ve seen you before... Around the District, down by the river.” You begin, carefully as you start to sew the sleeve in place. "You live there, don't you?"
He immediately bristles. “I don’t require charity. I’ll take my leave.”
“Ezra. You have nowhere to go. We both know that. It’s a dangerous night with the surge-five. Drink your xanadu tea and stay. You can take my bed.”
He sighs as his eyes shy away. “My predicament since my return from the Green has rendered me… unlucky, it’s true. There isn’t a place or a sympathetic ear here for people like me, and so my place is with shelter under the bridge. But I won’t spoil your evening with my dreary plight.”
“We can share in the dreariness.” You smirk, looking around at the dim confines of your apartment gloaming with waxy candlelight.
He sighs again as he watches you thread neat stitches to keep the sleeve in place.
“I can’t force you to stay. But I’ll sleep better knowing you’re safe rather than outside in that. I’ll make do on the recliner. I insist.” You say as you glance at the lightning streaking across the sky.
“Kindness offered to a scoundrel. You are something, Birdie.”
“It’s only gratitude for what you did in the alley. We’re even.”
"If I were to take you up on your offer, I will sleep here. You won't be denied your bed."
"There's no argument, Ezra. You'll take the bed and we'll say no more about it." You confirm.
“You trust me fictitiously.”
“No, I trust you.” You correct him.
“You know nothing of me. I could take your treasure and run whilst you sleep.”
“So do it. I already told you I care not for it.” You say, as you thread the stitches carefully.
“Why don't you cash it in? You could improve your living quarters.” He suggests.
“My living quarters are fine as they are.” You reply with a frown.
He looks at you curiously, deep eyes burning into you as you find them with your own.
“I don’t care about the material things.”
“Pet, your dwelling is stacked with material things.” He grins. “Look at all this treasured garbage.”
“It’s gotten a bit out of hand admittedly. But it's mostly worthless.”
“What is worth it's weight to you?” He enquires, boldly.
“Life. Connection…" You catch his eyes. "Love.”
He scoffs as he brings his cup back to his lips and swallows the pill.
“Immaterial things.” You say, as you notice his gaze heading towards the Aurelac gem again.
“Before I left for the Green, the only material possession I owned was my ship. A Testing Screamer.”
“Fancy.” You remark, unimpressed.
“No, she was a patched up shit bucket of rust, with a channel rat infestation, but I worked her hard. She got the job done. As I recounted, words and metal flew amongst my crew and they left me there to seek my death without her. I came back with far less.” He says, glancing down at his missing arm. “So, I relish the importance of the immaterial, even if you assume otherwise of me.”
“I assume nothing, Ezra.” You confirm. “There. You’re all patched up. You’re free to go into the wily night if you're so adamant.” You wince at the chafing burn around your knee joint.
You’re keen to rid yourself of the prosthetic, but hesitate whilst he’s here. You don’t mean to be prickly, but it’s a burn that’s starting to irritate.
“I’ve offended you.”
“No.” You shake your head with a faint smile offered. “I’ve been really grateful for your company, actually. It's been nice to converse with someone.”
“Do you feel lonely, pet?” Ezra questions out of the blue.
You turn to face him, your knee knocking against his and you wince. “All the time.” You answer honestly.
“I find it hard to accept that you cloister yourself here alone each cycle.”
“Why?”
“Because you're indeed bewitching.”
His hand is felt on your waist, gently squeezing, and you stop him as he reaches your thigh.
“Too fast?” Ezra queries, reading your eyes carefully.
“No.” You smile. “But…” You sigh with a steady gulp and then take his hand, hesitating before you place it on your artificial calf just past your knee.
He immediately raises his eyebrows with a crooked smirk as he feels not soft flesh under your pants when he squeezes, but a hard shell. He knocks against it, bewildered.
“You come with secrets,” he hisses jovially.
“Missing pieces.” You correct.
“As do I.” He says as your eyes fall to his stump barely poking out of the rolled up sleeve now. “Tell me your story,” he murmurs hauntingly.
He begins inking soft kisses into your collarbone and you don’t stop his forwardness. Instead you close your eyes and relish the feel of the warm, tender contact offered.
“No story. I was simply born this way.” You sigh, feeling his lips burn on your skin. Your fingers run themselves through his oily nape and scritch into his scalp.
“Then there’s no less of you to love, pet.” Ezra groans, looking up at you. “A simple man would be worthy of your affections, even if just for a night?”
“Perhaps.” You smirk.
“Perhaps? Here you sit like Kevva pushed you out her womb for me, perfectly moulded from clay, and you say perhaps?”
You simply smirk as he looks at you, trying to figure you out.
“I’m not perfect.” You say, your eyes averting away.
“I’ll be the judge of that. I’d like to see you bare.” He says, and you know immediately what he means.
You sigh out deeply and nod. “You too.”
“Birdie-”
“You. Too.” You sway. “Let me see you, Ezra.”
He watches as you stand and unzip your pants. You notice his eyes lingering on your centre for a moment, hidden beneath your bland underwear, but then his eyes trail down your left thigh to your knee where the buckles meet your skin.
You unbuckle your prosthetic without any meekness at all, leaning on his shoulder for support as he wraps his only arm around you, offering balance.
“I've got you, pet.”
You let it clatter to the floor and sit down in his lap, straddling him as his fingers tentatively brush over your revealed skin.
He, however, gulps as his fingers linger on the hem of his sweatshirt.
“Can I help you?” You ask him, and he shakes his head, pulling the offending item off clumsily and revealing his stump to you as his sweatshirt plops beside him.
“Beautiful,” he says, observing the smooth skin of your ungrown limb. You shudder as his fingers sweep delicately around and across it.
“Likewise,” you say, stroking down his arm to where it stops into a knot of twisty scars.
“Two peas in a dreary pod,” Ezra says, hooked nose brushing over yours.
“I don’t like peas.” You chuckle.
“Another commonality,” he smirks.
He watches as you reach forward behind him and take a small jar from the shelf. You push it into his hand as you open the lid and begin to scoop out some of the waxy salve inside.
The balm, infused with cooling agents and healing properties, provides instant relief to your inflamed skin with a comforting warmth; soothing the rawness that bears the brunt of the day's chafing from your prosthetic.
He inhales the scent, lifting the jar to his nose and hums at the fresh, earthy aroma.
“Homemade.” You clarify.
“More potions from my talented sorceress.” Ezra smirks. “May I?”
You nod, holding the jar for him as he scoops out a small dollop, and rubs it between his thick fingers until the consistency turns thin.
“Tingly,” he says in wonder.
He runs it gently around your skin, rounding the circumference and across the calloused welts and blisters, soothing and massaging gently.
“That feel good?” He queries with a bewitching smile all of his own.
"So good, Ezra." You nod with a breathy hum and he watches as you lean forward and kiss his stump gently, mouthing over the fibrous knots and welts.
“Your mouth is Kevva sent,” he groans as he watches you.
You run your tongue over it, kissing up his shoulder and tasting the salt of his neck. Tasting him there as he fondles and rubs your knee gently, fingers slick with the balm.
“Your ministrations, although kind, are wasted.” He gasps. “I’m not a man that can be tamed. I fear it's been too long that I won’t be gentle.” Ezra warns.
“Neither will I.” You growl as you pull him to you, teeth tugging on his lips.
He engulfs you wholly; his hand swamping your back for support as you crush him towards you. His tongue slithers into your mouth and you suck on it, gasping as you feel his blunt nails rake up your back over your shirt.
“Here?” He pants around your succulent mouth. “Or the comfort of your chambers?”
“Here. There. I don’t care. I just want you, Ezra.” You groan, your body tingling and sweating.
You squeal in delight as he stands with you abruptly, his sole arm keeping you wound tight around his body as he steps into your bedroom.
“I may only have one arm, but you're safe in it.” He reassures you by gripping you tight.
“Never doubted it.” You say, nuzzling into the salted musk of his neck as you cling on around it.
He twinkles as he smirks at you; those dark eyes regarding you with a controlled enthral, left to marinate spicily in your thoughts and on the fine hairs of your arms.
Outside, the sky growls, bearing its teeth as Ezra lays you on the bed. He watches you unbutton your shirt and pull off your panties, revealing yourself fully bare in all your flesh and graces to him.
His eyes roam over the contours of your body, taking in the shape of your tummy, your hips, the swell of your breasts. The way your right leg curls up and the way your left, stopping at the knee, moves with a seductive fluidness to it just like the other.
Your entire body is his to freely claim, to roam unbidden. Slick pussy to drown in, to worship at the altar.
He's never been a good man, undeserving of the fruit you bear freely to him now as he licks his salivating lips. But you make him feel good; a small, insidious voice convincing him he’s unworthy is quashed inside his mind, silenced blissfully as you beckon him forward and allow him to touch, to explore.
He’s marvelled by his own restraint, wanting nothing more than to tear into you - pull you apart and put you back together again. Yet he’s rendered docile, eager to draw long, haunting moans out of you as he tastes and feels each of them, taking his sweet, glorious time instead.
“You’re so…” He fails to find the right word in his mental thesaurus to do it justice. "I want nothing more than to whelve myself inside of your tight, hot cunt right now." Ezra sighs, staring at your slick centre, an obvious tent growing in his pants. “But first, we must discuss logistics."
You giggle looking up at him. “Fuck logistics, just get over here and fuck me.”
He shakes his head in disbelief at you, spread out before him and he swears he’s never seen anything more beautiful.
“Can you ride me?” He kneels on the bed, pink lacing his cheeks. “It’s easier if you can, my balance is often maligned. A chin to the nose might be an unpleasant douse to the fire.”
“I can. I might need you to support me if we go hard.” You nod.
“I can do whatever you need.” Ezra smirks crookedly. "Slow, fast... hard."
“What do you need?” You ask him, reaching for his face and planting kisses over it.
He smells wildly acrid, a build up of sweat and grime from the city has sunk into his flesh, but you’re undeterred as your mouth runs over his skin. Your cunt is so fucking wet just inhaling the stagnant, earthy hidrosis of him; beads of your slick running out of you in a delectable tickle.
“I need you to sit on my face, pet.” Ezra instructs you through a strained grunt, his lips curling up over his teeth as he helps position you above him.
You lower yourself down onto his waiting tongue, holding onto the bed railings. His arm is firmly around you, as assured.
He licks burning acid on your pussy, dissolving you down to the chalk of your bones as he tastes you; groaning into your folds hungrily. You grind on his mouth, chasing that blooming high that tingles and leaves you clawing in his hair desperately as he tongue fucks you gloriously.
You're basking in the pure pleasure of his mouth and tongue lapping at your pussy, all consuming and euphoric. Losing yourself to that dreamy build up of tension that arches your back and curls your toes.
And just when you think you can't take it anymore, suddenly all that tension is released and pulses throughout your body. You fall into a zen state of absolutely nothing - just white, hot pleasure coursing through your body.
You forget everything. Your name. The aches from your prosthetic. You even forget to breathe. He’s taken your body and mind to this exquisite place simply with his mouth and lets you fly and float around up in there until you come down, and then he’ll build you up again and again.
“I could lick you for turns, pet.” He snuffles through a satiated smile.
It makes you melt into him, crumpled like paper. Burnt up and falling ashy onto his skin. His stump rests against your thigh, prodding gently against it as his hand sweeps down your back and grips onto your ass, pushing your cunt further onto his mouth.
You move your hips, writhing against his tongue as he licks up onto your clit and you cry out in relief at how good it feels.
“You taste divine,” he muffles around your sticky lips.
He pushes his head up, lips squelching around to get right in as your thighs ripple and shake as he brings you to the edge once more. You're standing on the precipice of the universe and looking down into it's swamping, glittery depth.
You rest back on your hands, your fingers squeezing around the meat of his thighs as his one hand blazes a journey over your belly and towards your breasts where he squeezes and massages the left in his grip. His eyes stare up at you and you stare down, lips parting as your moans increase.
His tongue is precisely erratic, licking, sucking and flicking in all the places he can get to to draw your orgasm out and make it last. A kaleidoscope of colours stream in the room, their waltz blinding you as they swirl and merge. You can feel it all over your body, the heat, the burning as you tense and coil.
When you come again, it feels like you're floating once more; your body slack and wibbly as you gush into his waiting mouth. And as much as you could let him do this, for indeed many a turn, you want him in your mouth too.
You move with ease, comfortable to slide across the sheets gracefully and with speed that makes him grin. Pulling his pants down, you see him in all of his thick, weeping glory.
"Fuck, Ezra..." You murmur at the sight of him.
“This is how you make me feel.” Ezra pants as you stare at the hard swell of him almost lunging out his groin at you.
His cock feels imposing; heavy and smooth. A flushed pink head swollen and leaking profusely. You feel how hard he is, how he’s acutely dripping for you; strings of pre-cum coming away in your palm as he brings it up to his mouth and licks it away whilst eyeing you.
And you can’t explain what it does to your body, let alone your brain, at how wet he is for you. And hard, so fucking hard that it bulges angrily; a taut, thick vein popping off on the side.
“Take me to paradise, Birdie.” Ezra hums, as he watches you slither between his legs and take him in your mouth.
Ezra's eyes roll into the back of his head and he bites his lip until it bleeds copper rust on his tongue. He makes some intangible sound as he looks down at his fat cock sucked slowly and deeply into your mouth.
He brushes your hair away with shaky fingers, unsure and unfamiliar with such a gentle movement that he orchestrates, thumb stroking over your cheek.
“You can take it deeper than that. I know you can. Let me slide all the way down in there. Feel me in your belly.” Ezra grunts.
He bucks his hips as you swallow, your fingers scratching into the soft, wiry hairs in his groin and over his belly. He fills your throat and you feel him twitch when you suck harder.
He pulls your head back and tells you to spit on it. Smirking, you do as he instructs, and he watches as the globule decorates him in crystal strings.
“More,” Ezra keens, as you spit and drool over his cock further.
You’re panting for it; desperate to have him inside of your mouth again as he keeps it close enough, but just out of reach from your lips - teasing with that crooked grin lacing down at you.
But then, he finally lets you have it again, and is enthralled as you take him in greedily like you’ve been starved.
Humming in satisfaction, you suck him down and swallow deep, feeling him prod at the back of your throat as he guides and controls you with his hand knotted in your hair.
His grunts are felt on the end of your clit, his satisfaction tingling all through your body and you get off on getting him off; grinding your hips against the comforter on the bed as you suck, chasing your own release. Groaning out around his cock when the sheet catches your clit deliciously.
You pull him out of your mouth in a wet slurp and begin kissing around his groin; each little kiss peppering him and absorbing into his skin, leaving further fiery brands as you go.
You haven’t lost interest in his dick, still grasping him in your hand and running it over him, but you’re interested in all of him now, want all of him.
He’s drawn into your eyes as they look up at him, as you work your way across his abdomen and leave his hand to weaken inside of your scalp. It drops to your jaw as he helps you slither up his body and kisses you.
He’s surprisingly gentle, explorative and leaves no part of you untouched by his lips as he’s only too willing to return the favour. He lays back, his body weakening as you sit on his cock; your hands running through his hair, massaging his scalp as his head lolls back and he loses himself to the feel of your nails scratching through it.
You’re squirming and pushing yourself down on his length.
“Oh, you want it all, huh? Take it. Fuck my cock, pet. It’s yours.” He husks.
“You feel so good.” You whine, pulling on his hips as you work.
“I'm going to make a mess of you when I come.” He grunts.
“I want you to fill me up, Ezra.”
“Flood you,” he groans. “Fuck, I want to ruin you, but I want you like this too. It’s confounding.” He pants.
"Plenty of time to ruin me," you groan.
The infinite kaleidoscope only intensifies, becoming more vivid. Bursts of colour explode from behind your eyelids and are felt warming you all over as his cock nudges against the deepest part inside of you.
“Ezra!”
You feel his mouth roaming your chest. Sucking your nipples between his teeth as he alternates, pulling on them, teasing them hard; the tiny spots around your areolas standing and tightening too. Little pleasurable bumps that each have their own nerve centre that make your pussy twinge and drip like a leaky faucet over his cock as you ride.
Soon you flop forward onto him, your breasts hitting the hardness of his chest. That delicious pull deep inside your belly makes itself known. That tight, knotting before you’ll snap back and release.
His pants increase and those growls start to haunt. He’s close. It’s in the way he grabs and paws at you more sloppy now, like he can barely hold on anymore.
All it takes is an enticing whisper from you, telling him to come, to let go, to fill you up, and his teeth sink into your shoulder.
He groans and grunts deeply, hips stuttering and candid whimpers leaving his breath. All the atoms of his being spilling into you, thick and warm as he drips out of your cunt over his thighs.
And Ezra doesn’t let you go. He keeps you there, kissing you, glued to his chest, fitted around him like a perfect puzzle piece.

The surge-five still roars outside, but seemingly less consequential.
The acidic rains have moved on and the window of the bedroom is speckled with only a few streaks of wayward drops that the wind blows in squiggly lines around it; the tail ends of shooting stars before they die out completely.
A little snuffle beside your ear focuses your attention on Ezra, still asleep beside you in the middle of the night; his stumped arm poking out of the bobbled blanket, and his other still curled under your back and ending around your waist.
His fingers twitch occasionally, as he jostles and flinches in his sleep, still branding on the skin on your navel. You wonder what he dreams about to make him shudder so.
Your head tilts to examine his face in the darkness. The slow roaming from the blonde tuft so stark in his chocolate hairline, to the way in which his eyelids flutter restlessly as his eyeballs move under them as though something is alive.
He pelts your face with light breaths that are warm and hardened, and yet it’s a scent that doesn’t putrefy as you allow yourself to be bathed in the warmth of them.
You refute anything that’ll disturb your peace right now, such as the dull urge to urinate, instead cocooning yourself further into this moment right here in Ezra’s sleep laden grip.
He’s unlike any other man you’ve ever met and it leaves you breathless as you examine his face whilst he sleeps beside you.
Thick eyelashes adorn his swollen, sealed lids and a wiry scar is a slapdash carving below his left eye socket, leaving your imagination to ponder how he obtained it.
A thick velvet slug, matted with sweat and the residue of your slick, clings to his top lip, whilst the rest of his chin and neck is garnished with unruly stubble that's in the throes of growing in length and sparsity in hodgepodge greying patches.
His lips, pale pink and fuller on the bottom set, are chapped and sore, much like your own as you continue to gnaw on them whilst you mull the events over of how this enigma came to be in your sheets this night.
“See something you like, Birdie?” Those lips move with a small gruff tone.
“Merely spectating.” You reply back, softly.
“Spectating? I think the term is voyeurism.” Ezra smiles with his eyes still closed, and the creases around them grow in number and folds.
You smile and Ezra can hear the moisture in your mouth click around your teeth at such a close proximity.
“Your lament protests about sleeping on the recliner were just a bunch of who shot John, weren't they?” He croons into the skin of your neck, dipping his head as he stretches. You feel him inhale deeply against your skin.
Ezra wonders briefly if he’s suffered another loss, for his left arm is numb with the weight of you resting on it. He wiggles his fingers bringing them back to life and feels your skin warm against it under the blanket.
“Your practicality has been lampshaded,” he whispers. “Tell me, did you plot this tryst into fruition?” He chuckles.
“One would think this situation is amusing to you,” you say.
“It’s ah… something.” That brazen itch turns from ghastly mania into a settling excitement, an accepted wave of rapture that shakes his bones at your warmth and proximity; the blood in his body rushing towards the end of his cock at breakneck speeds.
“I fear I won’t be able to resist sordid temptation much longer.” Ezra repeats, a dirty grunt escaping through his strained voice.
“Then don’t. Defile me at your whim.”
The sound of his haughty chuckle is both harmonious and husky at the same time as it reverberates from somewhere deep in his chest cavity. Ezra is most attractive when he smiles and laughs, you think. It completely changes his stern, scowled face.
Perfect, puffy lips crooking up into his cheeks revealing a dimple that draws the eye in; a smile that could convince the sun into imploding. But his smile has dissipated and those dark eyes are prying into places they ought not to pry again.
"I'm going to annihilate you, pet." He whispers, grazing his lips against your own. "You think you can take it?"
You know you’re stupid to think you can do this; nudge him to the precipice and encourage as he jumps off it willingly. Coax him to show you the most depraved, abominable parts of himself and not have some repercussions come and bite you on the ass for it.
See him unleashed fully; the worlds across the Interplanetary cracking open and their suns splitting into two as he savages and ravages.
But you want him despite all the swill and misfortune; you want him to make you fall apart - to totally obliterate you. Use you as mere clay for his own twisted satisfactions as he leaves imprints and eternal marks on you that’ll blister and bleed.
The way he touches you, the way he doesn't shy away from your body leaves you wanting for the affection he drowns you in. He’s your missing piece making you whole. He dilutes your pain with his own making it bearable.
You shudder at the feel of his fingers softly stroking over your half leg; a ghostly touch that you acutely zone into. His eyes are still brooding into yours.
"Break me." You urge.
“I can smell your sweet stink all over me." Ezra grunts as his fingers slip down the between your ass cheeks, leaving a devastation of goose pimples in their wake.
You rest your clipped knee onto his hip, opening you up for him. You bite your lip, gnawing frantically on the bottom as the path takes a delectable turn towards your cunt.
Your head swims; the hairs on your body and nipples coming alive. Feeling high and giddy, balanced on that precarious cusp of passing out, but not quite managing to do so.
You breathe out slowly as his fingers pause; the burn of them felt deep inside your core already as you clench around nothing, and the throb of your clit aches and prickles with a pang of eager want.
Ezra’s gaging; reading your reactions and fine tuning into that solid will that you’ve been dismantling slowly over the course of the last turn spent with him.
He knows, for it’s ambushed his own impenetrable walls too.
He feels your hand clamp around his cock as the tension in your body pulverises at any remaining restraint you have. He strokes over your mound towards your clit, and as soon as he touches it - that hard, pulsing nub - you both groan out in unison. His fingers push into your pussy, slow and thick as you gasp.
Your other hand fists inside his hair as your face draws nearer to his own, your eyes zoning in on his lips that are wet as he licks them.
“I will destroy you.” Ezra breathes, admitting defeat. “I have nothing to give you, pet.”
“I don’t want what credits can buy from you.” You moan as his fingers swipe over your clit. “You see me.”
“I do. I see all of you. I like what I see.” He tongues at the skin at your neck. “You see me, too.”
“It’s kinda hard not to, you’re like a neutron star.” You smile.
“You trying to woo me, pet?” He smirks, as he slides down your body, kissing over it as he goes, elbow pressed into the mattress for support.
“Is it working?” You gasp as he abruptly buries his head between your centre, and lets his tongue go to work.
Your head is thrown back in the pillows, your eyes greeted with that dark void of space; the stars turning in their spirals as time slows down and he pulls you out from the inside.
Marvelling at the true alchemy of his tongue as it laps at your wet folds and he slurps you up like water, dehydrated like he once was on Kerulon. Transcending above the highest point in infinity and still climbing as your eyes roll into the back of your skull.
Your hand fists through his hair, drawing him closer; his nose dusting your clit as his tongue fucks deep and swallows all the sweet honey you have to give him.
“All I can do is take you to the stars.” He grunts. “Is that enough for you?”
“More than enough.” You whine as you come around his lips.
Ezra then spends the rest of the night breaking you apart, piece by piece, and putting you back together again, just as he said he would.
Tumblr media
His voice wakes you, but not from beside you where you expect him to be.
“Consarn it, you fumbling bawheid!”
You quickly reach for a tattered robe and grab at your crutches, wooden and rickety beside the bed, and follow the infernal muttering to the kitchen where he’s standing around broken cups on the floor.
Ezra glances up at you with razor wire for lips pressed into a thin line.
“Were you making tea?” You enquire through heavy lids, and he turns bashfully from you, the broadest back presented and littered with constellations of freckles and moles.
“Yes trying, but my cumber-world impairment-” he grits his teeth “-makes me sloppy. Fuck.”
Your gaze lingers curiously over him, determining him not to be an apparition but real; half expecting him to have fled already. You glance behind you and the Aurelac gem is still there on the shelf by the window as he left it.
“I can make the tea.” You smile softly, a hand reaching out to touch the expanse of his back, and his hackles immediately soften.
He steps to you, his singular hand finding the familiar shape of your waist as he pulls you close.
You take in the detailing on his worn face again. The way the pores on the smooth bump of his nose are marred with oil, the thickness of his brow; the entice of his full bottom lip.
Ezra wanders freely over your features too, from the shine in your eyes to the feel of your hair soft in his hand as he brushes his fingers through it like a comb.
He scratches up to your scalp massaging your skull as he steps closer into your personal space and your eyes close at the sensation of it, birthing millions of prickles across your skin; your nipples standing tall and hard beneath the slip of the gown you’d thrown on, like diamonds cutting through the thin fabric.
“How good does that feel?” His breath is drenched in a stale warmth on your face and you breathe the notes in deep.
"Really good." You breathe, nuzzling into his ministrations.
"Is your body defeated, pet, or can you take more?" He whispers into your crown.
You smirk. "More."
"Greedy." He snickers. "You'd make a fine Prospector."
Something’s hanging around in the air between you; something that’s unspoken. You’ve noticed it growing between you as the eventful turn has worn on into the night and seeks the new light of the dawn glowering through the smog.
It’s inside the delirious crookshank smile on his lips as he reveals it to you in between the comfortable silences when you talk. In his swampy brown eyes that take you in and feel as though he’s pulling you apart with them to see what’s really going on inside of your fibres and nerves.
And it's here again now as you linger, watching Ezra watching you, sensing that when the time comes to part from the questionable consternation of his company, it'll leave ruptures somewhere inside of you.
The black lacquer thoughts slither up from your spine and germinate insipid sparks into your core; a groundless lust that dizzies you from the smooth tickle of his fingers brushing down your hip and across your thigh.
You gasp as his fingers stray too close to your swollen centre, still drenched warm with his copious spend and aching from the stretch of him.
You’re weak for him; weak for those skilled fingers on his singular hand to be crawling inside of you and fucking you up, quite literally, as he weaves them in and out of your soaked pussy, curling them and wrapping you around them further.
“Ezra,” you gasp as he pumps them in and out, your balance swaying.
“Hold onto me,” he says, as you rest your crutches against the counter and wrap your arms around his neck.
He pulls your only leg around his waist once more, hard cock bobbing at your perineum, lifting you with ease; his only hand resting on your ass, and carries you back to bed.
Ezra has you all over again, devouring, leaving his marks on your body. Revelling in the melodies of your panting chants of his name as he fucks deep and hard.
His lips part slowly as do yours, reacting to him. Drawn to him, drawn into him completely and controlled somehow like a puppet and he’s playing with your strings; plucking slowly and gently at you and you’ve no idea how.
No idea how you've gotten so willingly naked in front of a stranger, despite his strange appeal, and are allowing him to guide you like this. Thighs splayed open before him and showing him your most intimate self.
It doesn’t matter how, for it’s pure fucking bliss.
You slide down on his cock and ride him slowly, gently as his arm wraps you up and holds you close to him, almost crushing the life out of you as both you exertions wane.
You gasp out, letting his lips go as he fills you up again, makes you detach and lose yourself in this moment inside of his arms - inside of him.
And that’s the crux of it, you want to give him this, make him see that he’s worthy of love and affection and tenderness. You know what it’s like not to have that.
Ezra smiles faintly at you, giving into the feel of you lavishing your love on him.
He reaches down to grope your knee gently, and you shudder at the feel of his fingers brushing against it. You run your hand equally down his stump, and you watch as his eyes glisten before he scrunches them shut and crushes you against his chest as he spills inside you once more.
“The storm has quelled. I should take my leave.” He says distantly after, stroking over your smooth nub as it rests languidly across his torso. His gentle touch soothes better than the balm.
“You should stay.” You murmur, hoping he hasn't heard the longing in it. But of course, the plucky sleeveen has.
“We find ourselves in a quandary.” Ezra retorts as he draws circles over your skin with his fingers.
“Dare I ask what stories these tell?” You put to him as your fingers trace the marred lines over his sternum.
“Probably wise if you remain in the dark, Birdie. I was not a gentle man once upon a time.” His warning is stark, but his eyes are soft and velvety as you look at them.
“You know how to be gentle.” You sway.
He nods. “To those who I feel so inclined.” He nudges his nose against yours.
The skin of your knee is so soft despite the roughness of the chafe. It’s a sensation that imbues you with warmth rather than discomfort; his thick fingers caressing gently, exchanging heat between your skin.
You’ve never let anyone feel it before, but he doesn't shy away. Neither do you as you kiss and flick your tongue tenderly over the stump of his arm. You let your tongue dip into the jagged welts and fleshy riverbeds of his scars.
He hums out with his eyes closed as you explore languidly and find your way eventually back to his bruised lips.
He makes you feel seen, he makes you feel whole for the first time. And it’s a feeling you don’t want to let willingly extinguish. You kiss him deeply, fearing it might be the last time.
“Your hospitality has been most charitable, pet. The swell has dissipated satisfactorily.”
You sigh out. “This whole idea was just idiotic from the get go.” You’re already mourning the loss of him, another part failing to grow on your body, but he doesn’t move.
“Something I specialise in.” Ezra muses. But his smirk downturns when he sees your face. “Is that sincere affection you possibly harbour?”
“You think this whole time I spent with you was a ruse?” You frown.
He shakes his head. “I hope not. Did I fall victim to a spell?”
“I want you to stay, Ezra.” You say, reaching for his hand. “But only if you want to. There’s a place for you here, with me, if you want it.”
He closes his eyes, your knuckles resting on his lips, his thumb stroking over the hilt.
“You definitely have me under a spell. There’s no other possible explanation.” He hums as his eyes find yours staring back, unwavering. “You and your magic tea.”
“No magic. Maybe you just want to stay with me.” You smile, knowingly.
“Perhaps some things can’t be explained by the universe after all.”
“Perhaps it’s the Aurelac.” You snort. “That Siren song you Prospectors can't resist.”
Ezra shakes his head vehemently. “Maybe it’s just you, Birdie.” He smiles as he leans in to kiss you. “Maybe I finally found my missing piece.”

I really hope you enjoyed reading this story with Ezra, and welcome your comments/thoughts. I'd appreciate a re-blog if you liked it so others can find it on their dash to read and enjoy too - thank you very much! 🖤

Deadly Locks (Detective! Daemon Targaryen x Female Reader) (Non Canon Au) (Dark )
Series Masterlist
Chapter 1
Summary: After five years of being together you broke up with Daemon for your own good but the link between you two stayed connected. As the City of Belfast is terrorized by a killer on the loose would your life intertwine with your old flame again or the case would only drift you further away from him?
Warning: 18+ , smut, It's a crime thriller so there would be some squeamish dark stuff, read at your own discretion, mention of rape, assault and murder, Speeding and driving under the influence, Reader has long hair, Daemon's hair is up for imagination
Tumblr media
Daemon was tired, he hadn't slept in three days, he was running on caffeine and on top of it his mother kept calling him all day long because she was worried about him. Tired was an understatement. He was exhausted in every possible way.
“Good night sir” his protege Jake said to him before leaving to which he responded with a nod and a grunted sigh. The amount of paperwork on his desk only made him feel worse. He loved his job, he loved being on the field and solving crimes all day long but he hated the administrative work that came with it.
As he slumped down in his chair he cracked his neck side to side to relieve some of the tension he was feeling but it was in vain.
11:59. He looked at the time and sighed again, as the clock hit 12 he was reminded of the day. It was your birthday, he wasn't sure if he wanted to call you today, you had broken his heart on the very same day two years ago.
You had called him on his birthday a few months ago but the last time he had seen you was at Torres’s birthday party, the only mutual friend between you both. It's been six months since he had seen you last and it's been two years since you had crushed his heart beneath your heels and ruined his life but you both had stayed in touch. Perhaps he'd give you a call tomorrow, he didn't want to come across as desperate by calling you right at twelve am.
He went through the files on his desk, his focus set on the case that was demanding all of his attention these days. It was about a serial killer who abducted, raped, and murdered multiple women in a chilling and unique manner. The case had stirred up a media frenzy in Belfast, bringing him the biggest and most challenging case of his career so far. He poured all of his energy and expertise into the case, knowing that a successful resolution would earn him that much needed promotion he had been working towards.
Serial killers were known for their signature patterns and this one followed suit. His targets were women in their early thirties, and he often stalked them in secluded areas before attacking them. But instead of choosing them at random, he took the time to learn their routines and kidnapped them only when the opportunity presented itself. Each crime scene was marked by a signature, he left a lock of their hair behind on the exact spot he had abducted them. Long luscious locks of hair, all of these women had that similarity with each other.
The media gave him the name 'The Barber Killer' which Daemon despised. Doing so only gave them more notoriety and motivation to continue. The killer always made sure their bodies were found, the women were scalped for their hair and stripped of their skin, teeth were also extracted. It was a horrific gruesome sight but this is what he had wanted to do all his life, not witness such inhumanity but put criminals like him behind the bars where they should be..
Seven years ago he was merely a traffic police officer, that's exactly how he had the fortune of meeting you.
Speeding, you were speeding and you were being very reckless. As you were tailed by him and asked to pull over he saw this young woman in her early to mid twenties.
“Do you have any idea how fast you were driving in a low speed zone?”
Daemon leaned down to get a look at you and you gave him a smile
“Yes I'm sorry?”
Sweet voice he thought.
“Can I see your driver's license and MOT mam?” he asked you so you hurriedly went through the glove compartment. As you gave the documents to him you couldn't help but take a moment to get a good look at him. With his striking eyes and full hair, it was easy to see why you found him so attractive. He had a calm but confident demeanor that only added to his charm. You couldn't help but wonder what he was like in person.
“So ummm Officer Daemon does that whole 'flirting with the officer to not get a ticket' thing works on you?” You asked him and he gave you a side smile as he looked you in the eye, you must have read his name on the batch.
“Doesn't work on me..your MOT is expiring in a week”
“I'll get it done i promise..I'm sorry I just really have to be at my sister's wedding or I'll be murdered and they'll probably call you to investigate my case so please can I go?” you mumbled with an urgency in your voice
“Not without a ticket.. besides I'm just a traffic officer, not a detective"
"Well..not yet"
You winked at him in a playful manner and he quickly tore the citation from the ticket book and handed it to you.
“I'd say it was nice to see you but you just cost me hundred pounds so no”
“Well I'm not going to change the law for you mam, speeding is dangerous not just for you but others as well”
“I know..I don't normally do that you know..I'm just really in a rush” you tried to explain yourself and he could tell that you weren't really the type to get caught like this.
“You can go now…drive safely.. and congratulations to your sister” you gave him a smile that took his breath away for a moment. It wasn't like him to be so affected by a woman like this, after the rough childhood and even worse adolescence, he was always focused on wanting to do something in life, dating and finding love wasn't the top of his priorities so this really came as a surprise to him..
“Goodbye officer Daemon”
You weren't the first woman he had busted for speeding but you surely were the only one he followed for a bit to see if you were driving safely or not. That should have been the end of your interaction with him but it wasn't.
Two weeks later he caught another vehicle driving under the influence and you were in the passenger seat this time, your friend Donna was the one driving the car. You had later told him that seeing him again was nerve wracking as you didn't want him to think of you as some reckless idiot but you were also excited to bump into him again.
As soon as Daemon approached her side of the window she batted her eyelashes at him which only annoyed him further.
“Wow look at you .. aren't you handsome officer Daemon?” She giggled as she tried to trick him with flirting and the annoyed look on his face made you smile, however you puckered your lips as he turned his attention to you.
“Id and driver's license mam” he said to her while his eyes were on you so Donna rummaged through her compartment and passed it to him.
“Please don't fine me .. it's her birthday, we just got a little excited” he shook his head in disbelief at the excuse and made her take a breathalyzer test which she obviously failed.
“Can I talk to you, miss?” He asked you so you looked at Donna and she gave you the eyes,
“I tried to seduce him” she mumbled as she leaned into you
“Yeah, how embarrassing for you” .
You opened your door and stepped out of the car, as Daemon saw you in your silver little dress he knew you both were returning from a club or something, not that he'd know anything about that. His social life was non-existent.
“Are you trying to kill yourself?” his brows furrowed in anger as he spoke to you so you leaned your body against the hood of the car.
“I wasn't driving” you answered shamelessly.
“But your friend is drunk, do you understand the repercussions of your actions?” He asked you but you didn't respond so he cleared his throat and you finally looked in his eyes as prior to when you were audaciously staring at his lips.
“I'm sorry, it's just really really hard to focus on what you're saying. Your lips are very distracting when you're speaking with such ...passion”
He opened his mouth to give a sly retort but he was warm and flushed by the remark, he wasn't used to being flirted this way, not in a genuine way. He wasn't the prettiest guy as he had been told time and again so he was always a bit weird around women, especially women as attractive as you.
“Do you wanna go out with me ..Someday?” He asked you and the smile on your face indicated that you didn't mind.
“What about now? It's my birthday..you can buy me a drink or i can do the favour officer”
“My shift ends at 11”
“Then here's my number” you grabbed the pen from his fingers and then you grabbed his hand to write your digits on his palm, he was glad his partner wasn't around today to witness this, his breath hitched as you grabbed onto his fingers and etched every digit in clear numbers slowly.
“I'll wait for your call officer”
That's how he had found the woman he fell madly in love with, it just clicked, everything made sense with you but perhaps he wasn't what you really needed.
He slumped back in his chair, trying to get rid of the personal feelings he had at the moment, two years, it's been two years, he should have moved on.
Around 4:45 am as he finally got done with the paperwork he decided to go home and get his sleep but he wasn't able to sleep, he kept thinking about giving you a call but he didn't. It was 5 in the morning, you must be asleep he thought.
In the afternoon he woke up to his phone ringing constantly, it was Jake. He had requested him to come to the precinct immediately as another woman had been kidnapped in the barber killer case, he almost didn't want to get out of bed but he had to.
“Update me mate” he asked Jake as soon as he entered the station but the way Jake looked at him made him feel uneasy.
“You might want to sit down for this”
“Why?”
“He got her”
His skin went pale as he heard that.
“What?”
“Y/n..uhhh your ex..the girl in the picture which you keep in the drawer.. around 5 am in the morning she was on her morning run and she didn't return, her friends and family were trying to call her since it's her –”
“Birthday” Jake nodded as Daemon said that. He was really nervous giving this information to his boss.
He turned around to face away from Jake and braced himself against the desk to control his breathing, he couldn't freak out, he had to stay calm and he had to look for you, he had to find you. He stood there, taking slow deep breaths, fighting to keep his composure, at least he had to do so to not lash at the young nervous trainee next to him.
“Should have called her”
“Did you say something?” Jake cleared his throat as he noticed daemon mumbling under his breath.
“No i..just..let's go”
“She fits the profile sir..”
“What's the report on her cell?”
Daemon asked as they stepped out of the station to go visit the site you had disappeared from
“Phone is switched off, the last person who called her was some guy named Pierce–”
“Bring him in for the enquiry”
“Yes sir” Daemon halted for a moment to turn to Jake.
“Stop hovering over me”
“Sorry, are you alright sir?”
“Yeah I am fine…”
“He takes his time with them..i'm sure she's not–”
“I know mate ..I'm on the case” he sighed as he tried to calm down again “Look just focus on the job, there can't be another one, we need to get this maniac before he kills--" Daemon paused for a moment to finish his words "Somebody else”
As soon as he got inside his car and drove away from the station he chose a secluded spot to pull over and then he allowed himself to cry, a part of him felt guilty.
He thought back to last night, his mind couldn't stop coming up with scenarios where his decision to not call you had affected the outcome of the situation, maybe if he had called at night you'd have invited him over like you did last year, and maybe you'd still be here, safe and around him and not in some deranged psychopath’s lair.
Or if he had called in the morning perhaps you'd have changed your mind about running today, perhaps he could have done something to cause a ripple effect, but then he remembered that this wasn't some random abduction, if you were taken by the barber killer, it only meant that he was keeping an eye on you from a long time.
Once he was done feeling sorry for himself he went to your house and followed the track, cops had done their thing but he wanted to be meticulous, this wasn't just a job for him anymore, this had become personal, he found the lock of your long hair that cops had missed, his eyes welled up thinking about the times he had spent his nights running his fingers through your hair. .
He knew he had to find you before it would be too late.
“We are not getting back together –” he chuckled as you said that to him even though you knew his heart must have broke all over again at the sound of your voice.
“I know –’ he caressed your cheek with the back of his index finger and you leaned into his touch almost immediately.
“I just don't want you to misunderstand this invitation”
“I won't–”
You pulled him closer to you by grabbing his collar, you had missed him, it's been exactly a year since you had left him and broke both of your hearts but every part of you still loved him. Time heals all wounds you had heard then why were you still hooked on him? You found yourself thinking about him, dreaming about him - even though you knew it was wrong. You tried to tell yourself that you would eventually move on. But in that moment, you were reminded of just how much you needed him in your life, however you also remembered all the times he wasn't there for you when you needed him..
“I don't want to hurt you more than I already have -” you pulled away to whisper against his mouth but he pressed his thumb over your lips.
“You can't hurt me more than that..trust me”
He picked you up in his arms and pressed you against the wall, clothes didn't even come off your bodies , it wasn't needed, all you needed was his cock slipping in and out of you, nobody fucked you the way he did, nobody compared to him. It didn't take him long to make you crumble in his arms, he had no idea that you hadn't touched anyone since him, you broke his heart but your heart and body still stayed loyal to him, five years, you had been with that man for five years and you wanted fifty more but he brought you equal amounts of pain as he brought happiness.
“Happy birthday my scrappy girl”
You opened your eyes to a figure looming over you but your screams were muffled by the duct tape. You pushed and struggled against your bindings, but it was all in vain. Memories of the past flooded back to you, filling your mind with regret and longing.
If you knew someday in life you'd end up bound and helpless in a dungeon perhaps you'd have made different choices. Perhaps you wouldn't have broken the heart of the man you loved so deeply.
“Oh no you're all banged up, can't have that now can we? My son is rather brutish. I must say” you heard a woman's voice but you couldn't really see her in the dark. Her accent was thick and the perfume was strong.
You struggled again as she picked you up and made you sit down on a chair. What the hell was going on here? You didn't understand. Fear was all you felt in that moment, well that and regret.
He didn't even call you this year, was he ever going to call you again? You had no idea and maybe you'd not live the day to figure it out.
As the duct tape was ripped off your mouth you took a deep breath and then you screamed, wasn't really the wisest decision on your part because that earned you a sharp slap and then you felt a needle pricking your arm which immediately made you feel drowsy. The woman then walked away to leave the room, and when she opened the door you could see that she had long hair and that she was wearing a full length dress. You also heard another woman screaming. Were there others here?
The last thing you remembered was the entrance of a man into the room just before you passed out.

Yandere Baki Shorts: Fate
Jun Guevara with a prison penpal fem! Reader
This man has me in a chokehold right now but there’s next to nothing for content for him. AND HE FINE FINE
Tumblr media
Jun Guevara
You had decided to sign up to adopt a prison penpal out of boredom. A way to help someone reconnect with the outside? You’d love to contribute to such a noble cause!
You put down loving the beach and the ocean as your interests and sure enough, you matched with a man in his mid twenties named Jun Guevara. Jun was at the Arizona State Prison. You had no idea what he looked like or what his crimes were, but you didn’t care. He was your penpal so you’d start sending him letters!
Imagine your surprise when he replied in as little as a few days? His handwriting was a little bit neat and a bit wonky. It seems he was excited to write to you! He didn’t think they’d match him with a young woman such as yourself
The two of you exchanged letters for months. The letters slowly getting flirtier and flirtier. Jun wanted to know what you looked like. He wanted to see your face and he wanted you to spritz your letter with perfumes. Jun was slowly digging more and more into your private life until he knew more about you than you did yourself. But you didn’t realize the danger you were in. You were just happy to have a friend. A shame he didn’t see you as a friend…
You sent him a picture of your face and sprayed the letter with perfume. You didn’t think anything of it. And that’s when the poems started. Jun would send you poems of how beautiful your eyes were. Of how beautiful you were
Then the pet names came. Meu anjo. Meu amor. Meu linda. Meu bem. Meu querida. You didn’t realize that he was calling you my angel, my love, my beautiful, my darling, and my dear. Jun was calling you his. How could you have been so dense?
It was when your roommate read one of your letters that you began to become a bit uneasy. That the reality of his words in the letters began to sink in. Jun didn’t see you as a friend like you saw him, he saw you as so much more. Jun saw you as a lover. As a possession.
You didn’t respond to his letters for a week. You were a bit confused on how to proceed. How do you kindly let a prisoner down? You didn’t know what this man was even capable of… since you never pried into his crimes. It dawned on you that you didn’t really know him at all, while he knew everything about you. How could you be so naive? You felt sick to your stomach knowing that you had entrusted a complete stranger with details of your personal life. You needed to cut him off.
Another week went by and you had received 5 letters from him. You haven’t even opened them yet. You were too nervous too.
It was when you received a call from an unknown number that you felt your gut sink. You hesitantly answer the call.
“Hello?” You softly ask. You weren’t sure who would be calling you at such an hour but the reply on the other end made the hair on the back of your neck stand up.
“Is this (your full name)?” A man’s voice on the other end of the phone sounded scared. Like he was afraid of something. “You need to leave your house immediately and head to the police station to get to a safe house. You’re in danger.”
“Danger?” You softly ask, your body trembling as you glance around your home in fear. Why would you be in danger? You weren’t a criminal…
“Jun Guevara and a few other prisoners broke out of prison.” The words sunk in and you felt your blood run cold. You couldn’t hear anything else the man said. You hung up the phone and automatically made your way over to your desk that had five unopened letters on it. You ripped open the letters Jun had sent you to see what he wrote. Your eyes widening from each sentence.
‘Are you alright, meu quierida? You haven’t responded in awhile and I’m worried about you. I assure you that you have nothing to fear. I promise I’d never hurt you.’
‘Meu anjo. Please reply. I’m starting to get really worried about you. Did something happen? You didn’t hear anything from those porcos about me did you? I swear I’m not as dangerous as they say! At least… not to you. I’d never harm a hair on your head. I love you.’
‘Meu linda. It’s been almost a week. Please reply. I’ll tell you everything you need to know. Just please respond. Please let me know you’re okay. That you care about me too. Was my confession too bold? I have been told I can be quite intense at times. I just have a burning passion for you, meu bebe. I just love you so much, that I can’t bear to lose you. Just please answer.’
‘Meu bem, I’m going to break out of prison and find you. I can’t bear this silence. It’s been over a week and now I think something has happened to you. Don’t worry, I’ll find you. I’ll save you.’
Your hands shook as you opened the last letter. Your eyes wide in horror once you realized it wasn’t sent from the prison… it was sent from a town over from you. And this was a few days ago…
‘Meu amor. I was able to beat up a porco to get your address! I successfully broke out and I’m coming to get you. We’ll be reunited soon okay? They can’t keep us apart. No one will! We’ll leave the states and go to my sovereign country where we can start a life together. Won’t that be lovely? You’ll be able to be on the beach all the time then!’
You stepped back from the letter as tears gathered in your eyes. You put your hand over your mouth to stop the cry from coming out. That’s when you felt something hard and warm pressed against your back.
You try to jump away but two muscular arms snake around your waist. The scent of coconut, musk, and white rum filling your nose as a muscular chest shakes with laughter.
“Meu amor… we’re finally together.” You’re spun around to face an incredibly handsome man. A warm smile on his face as his brown eyes soften at you. “God you’re even prettier in person… I’m such a lucky man.”
Jun bends down to press a kiss to your cheek. You freeze when you feel the stubble on his face tickle your skin. His calloused hands hold your jaw so he can get a better look at you.
“I’m so happy you’re alright, meu quierida. I was worried sick. How could you make papi worry so much?” Jun then chuckles, his lips peppering your face with affectionate kisses. “We’re together now so that all that matters… fate has united us come again.”
Jun then scooped you up into his arms, a smirk on his handsome face.
“How about we get out of here now? It won’t be long before the porcos show up and I really don’t want them to separate me from my wife.”
Before you could even get in a word, the pirate rushed you out of the door and towards a car full of prisoners waiting outside. He climbs into the back seat and secures you on his lap. What was going on?
“Guys? Meet my future wife, (your name)!” Jun excitedly introduced you to his peers. He links his fingers with yours. “We’re soul mates.”

“What is the difference between ethics, morality, and law?”
Professor Kim leans against the desk at the front of the lecture hall with his hands gripping the edge on either side of his hips. The action makes the muscles in his arms flex, and you eat up the tan skin exposed by how his sleeves are rolled up to his elbows. The tight white button-up accentuates plump pectoral muscles that threaten to pop and lose a few buttons. It wouldn’t surprise you if it happened. Professor Kim is known for being accidentally destructive.
It is unethical to fuck your professor because it would create a conflict of interest; you’d imagine it would be hard for Professor Kim to ethically assess your academic performance if he’d been balls deep in you.
It’s morally wrong to fuck your professor because you know he’s married, not because he has ever provided your class with information about his personal life, but because you sit at the front of the class. From your position, you can see the glint of his wedding band.
Legally, you’re pretty sure there isn’t a law against fucking your professor. It probably goes against your university’s code of conduct, but that’s not a law.
You sink further into your seat and let your eyes wander the room. Everyone diligently takes notes as Professor Kim turns to the presentation projected on the large screen behind him. Ethics and Professional Responsibility isn’t your favorite class, but no one said getting your J.D. would be fun. On the contrary, everyone you knew said it would fucking suck. And it kinda does.
One thing that doesn't suck, though, is having a class with your program’s resident pretty boy, Park Jimin.
Pretty boys aren’t your type at all. You prefer boys who are rough around the edges. You're not interested if a guy doesn’t look like he’s a one-way ticket to jail or hell. Maybe it’s the rebel in you. Maybe you like the idea that opposites attract. A lawyer and a criminal sounds like a cute ship, no?
Pretty boys are too soft for you. They’re the type to have skincare routines and listen to Jack Harlow. No thanks.
Yet your eyes always manage to find Jimin.
He’s sitting to your left and a few rows behind you, but close enough to see him when you turn your head. He sits with perfect posture as he scribbles notes on his iPad, plump lips puckered in a cute little beak of concentration.
Fuck, no, not cute. Ridiculous. Soft and childish. Everyone in the room is at least in their mid-twenties, some even in their late fifties. A prestigious J.D. program has no room for beaks and squishy cheeks.
You’re about to look away when Jimin lifts his stylus to his mouth. The end presses a small dent into his plush bottom lip. You instinctually lick your lips, though your mouth suddenly feels dry.
Jimin sits that way for a few more seconds with furrowed eyebrows as he focuses on his notes. At Professor Kim’s mention of the end-of-the-year oral argument, your classmate finally lifts his head to face the front of the room. His eyes are bright and wide, unlike the haggard look of your peers, and you watch them shift back and forth as he reads whatever is on the screen. You have no idea what Professor Kim’s talking about; your roommate, Hoseok, will fill you in when you get home.
All you know is that Jimin finally pulls his stylus away from his lips and casts a sideways glance in your direction. You lock eyes for a split second before he quickly ducks his head, suddenly interested in his notes again.
You snort loud enough for the woman sitting next to you to give you an odd look, but you ignore her and return your eyes to Professor Kim.
Your eyes don’t stray from the front of the lecture hall for the rest of the class. It’s not difficult; there isn’t anything else you find interesting enough in the room to distract you. Nothing. Especially not Pretty Boy Jimin.

“Hey, can I come over tonight?”
Two pale hands splay across your desk once the class is dismissed. Chipped, black polish adorns each nail, except for the pinkies, which are painted white.
“Why are you asking me? You don’t need my permission to visit your boyfriend’s apartment.”
“I’m trying to work on my manners, jeez.”
You roll your eyes and slide your tablet into your backpack. “Where were your manners when you and Hobi fucked on my couch? Hmm, Yoongi? Where were they then?”
Yoongi lets out a low groan as he steps to the side to let you fall in line with him as you exit the classroom. Your roommate is waiting in the hallway, always the last student to arrive and the first to leave.
“That’s different,” Yoongi huffs, though this time, the sound is due to Hoseok crushing him in a hug once they make it into the hall. “Besides, I’m asking because I’m bringing my friend. We aren’t going to stay. He just wants someone to come with him.”
Hoseok untangles his arms from Yoongi’s and adjusts his backpack. Your best friends act like surviving a three-hour class is like surviving a lifetime apart.
“Ohh, a friend?” Hoseok leans against Yoongi with his eyebrows arched. His questioning tone is fair. The three of you don’t have many friends aside from each other. It’s hard to maintain friendships with people outside of law school. There’s simply no time.
“What is this, the buddy system?” You snicker as you follow the two men to their cars. “Sorry, I only do business with adults.”
There is quite literally no reason for you to be judgemental about whoever this mystery friend is, but class has put you in a cranky mood. Probably because of stupid fucking Park Jimin with his distracting lips. Your unpreparedness for the oral argument is slowly causing anxiety to creep into your chest.
Yoongi gives you a light smack to your bicep. “Some people get nervous about this shit, you know that.”
“It’s weed, oh my god. You act like we’re cooking meth in our basement.”
Yoongi stops walking to give you a stern look with narrowed eyes and a cocked head. “You don’t even have a basement.”
“Yeah, well, it’s 2023, and weed is legal.”
“It is legal to purchase weed at a licensed dispensary. However, you are not licensed to sell weed, nor is your apartment a dispensary.”
“It’s got enough weed in it to be one,” Hoseok snorts, but the sound quickly morphs into a severe cough when Yoongi’s glare is directed at him.
Yoongi yanks his car door open and slides into the driver’s seat. Then, with one leg still on the ground and his arm holding the door open, he lets out a long sigh. “You two are insufferable.”
“Love you too, babe!” Hoseok giggles and sends his boyfriend a flying kiss as Yoongi drives out of the parking lot.
“For an anti-capitalist, Yoongi is so old-fashioned. I’m providing a product to the everyday person at a reasonable price,” you grumble while you fasten your seatbelt in Hoseok’s car. “Dispensaries are classist. They’re way too fucking expensive, and they’re all in affluent neighborhoods, anyway. The gentrification of marijuana in this country is ridiculous. Where does Yoongi think those tax funds end up? Not in neighborhoods that need them. And what about expunging people’s records? Is the government ever going to do that?”
You slump in your seat, the sudden energetic burst of social consciousness in you dying out. “I hate rich people.”
Hoseok hums in agreement, keeping his eyes on the road as he drives. “We’re about to be rich people, though.”
“Not me. Civil rights law isn’t going to make me rich, and I’m not touching corporate with a ten-foot pole.”
Yoongi and so many other people in your program are too dependent on what is and don’t stop to question what can be or what should be.
Ethics is a social construct, morality is subjective, and law is arbitrary.
Going to law school is less about learning how to be a lawyer and more about learning how to play a game.
🍃
When Park Jimin walks into your living room, all you can do is blink at him. Your eyes are red and glassy, your mouth dry even though you’ve been sipping water, and your limbs feel too gooey to bother getting up. Maybe you’re hallucinating him, which would be very upsetting because you don’t want to explore why he’s sticking around in your head.
But then Yoongi is ushering the guy to sit next to you, and the dip in the couch as he eases down feels too real.
“Ah, Jimin! You’re the friend!” Hoseok gives the newcomer a blinding smile. Smoke punctuates each word, billowing toward the ceiling. There’s already a thin haze to the room; you and Hoseok have been smoking for a while. “Welcome to our humble abode.”
Jimin gives Hoseok a small smile. He also turns to give you one, but it falters when you meet his gaze.
You’re not sure what expression you’re wearing. It could be anything, really. Or nothing at all.
“Hi,” he says quietly. His lips are so pink. You want to ask him how soft they are.
“How much do you want?” Is what you ask instead.
Jimin turns to Yoongi, who is now cuddled up with Hoseok on the other side of the room. The chair is made for only one person, but they have never known personal boundaries. You suppose if they’re dating, it doesn’t matter.
“Just give him an eighth,” Yoongi says with a dismissive wave. He’s more focused on plucking the blunt from Hoseok’s lips and bringing it to his own.
“Of what?” You huff your words, twisting the joint you’ve got between your middle finger and thumb. It’s clear that Jimin knows nothing about weed. He can’t even come up with a measurement or a strain.
Yoongi glares at you as if this is somehow your fault before saying, “Anything. Maybe not Girl Scout Cookies or Sour Diesel, though. I don’t want his brain melting out of his ears.”
Jimin makes a slight noise of surprise at that.
“Kidding,” Yoongi teases. “Well, about the brain-melting part. I mean it about the strains, though.”
Leaving your joint in an ashtray on the coffee table, you stand up with a groan. Moving is low on your list of things to do right now. The indica you’ve been smoking makes your movements feel slow, though you can’t tell if they actually are.
“Come on,” you mumble, gesturing for him to follow you down the hall. He goes without a word, eyes wide as if he’s about to discover something profound within the walls of your apartment. You don’t want to admit how cute he is, just as timid in your apartment as in class.
“We keep everything in the office. It’s super organized, but I guess that’s expected.” You don’t know why you’re rambling (yes, you do, it’s the weed).
Jimin nods. “Makes sense.”
He’s so cute, you think, when he asks if he wants you to close the door once you’ve reached the office. As if there is something to hide in here. Hoseok and Yoongi are the only other people in the apartment.
“I’m going to give you a hybrid. You know what that means?”
Jimin hovers over you when you crouch next to a dresser with multiple drawers. Numerous glass jars, all labeled with pieces of white tape and messy handwriting, are stacked in the drawer you open. You sift through them, taking a few to inspect before placing them back again.
“I do not.” At least he’s honest.
“It’s the happy medium between sativa and indica. Sativa gives you a head high. People tend to feel alert and creative sometimes. Indica gives you a body high. It’s the stereotypical kind of weed people talk about that makes you lazy and get the munchies. It’s because sativa has more THC than CBD, whereas indica is more CBD-heavy. Think about how people use CBD products when they’ve got joint pains or anxiety, right?”
“Oh, I didn’t know that.” The statement is redundant, but you don’t mention it. Jimin looks like he hangs onto your every word as though his life depends on it. It’s funny, and you have to stop yourself from laughing at him.
Finding what you’re looking for, you hand a jar to Jimin. “It’s already weighed, so you can take the whole thing.”
Jimin holds the jar like it’s a newborn. This time, you let a few giggles slip out.
“Do you have something to smoke it with? A piece or a bong?”
A shake of his head is no surprise, but you act shocked because you’re high and feeling good, and you love how he looks when his eyes grow wide.
“Wow, you’re so cute,” you say with a grin that starkly opposes the shy blush that paints Jimin’s face. “You probably don’t know how to roll either, do you?”
Another shake of his head. Of course.
It’s not difficult to show Jimin how. You pull up another chair at your desk and push away all your notes and textbooks for school to clear a path to work. You show him how to grind the weed and roll a blunt and a joint — so he can figure out which one he likes better.
Jimin’s body is warm as he presses against yours, your shoulders bumping into each other every time you move your arm. He keeps close, eyes glued to your hands as you work slowly but diligently. It’s a bit disarming having him so close. Aside from the occasional hello during class, you’ve never really talked to Jimin. Concentrating with all his Pretty Boy energy fogging up your mind is tricky.
Or is it the weed? Nah, it’s the weed.
“If you end up not liking either, go to a head shop to buy a bowl — it’s a pipe. Maybe don’t go with a bong yet. Yoongi can help you. He likes bowls better, so he’ll have good recommendations.”
Once finished, you slip the blunts and joints into a ziplock bag. When you pass it to Jimin, you can’t help but let your fingers brush against his. The touch sends waves of hot electricity up your arm. The shock of it makes your entire body tingle. Sure, the weed is making your body extra sensitive, but it’s not only that. He’s so fucking hot.
You don’t realize you’re staring at him. It’s hard not to stare or even know where to begin. His plush, pillowy lips? His fluffy, dirty-blonde hair that falls into his eyes? So cute that you don’t even care when he has to do a Bieber flip to get his bangs out of his face?
And, fuck, he’s not wearing the usual crisp white Oxford shirt and black chinos get-up. He must have gone home to change after class because now he’s wearing a form-fitting black t-shirt (probably designer from the looks of it) and grey jogger sweatpants that do nothing to hide how thick his thighs are and you’re sure if you get a chance to look at his ass you’ll find that that part of his body is thick, too. Expensive athleisure wear looks even better on him than professional clothing. It makes him look soft.
“Thank you,” Jimin says, speaking your name softly, and you feel like your knees grow weak at the sound of it tumbling from lips like those. “I’m sorry, I feel like I barged in here and took up your time. Not knowing anything… I’m sure you’re used to people with more knowledge than I do.”
Shaking your head, you guide Jimin out of the office and lock it behind you. “Don’t worry about it. Everyone has to start somewhere, right?”
It’s funny that he’s concerned about something like this, as if marijuana knowledge is so embarrassing not to have.
When you turn around, you realize the two of you are standing way too close. Your apartment isn’t a shoebox, but it certainly isn’t large. The hallway is slim, and Hoseok has a million and one plants and decorative furniture scattered around for the “aesthetic,” which makes it even harder to navigate tight spaces.
You’re not complaining, though. This close, you can see that Jimin is wearing contacts that make his eyes hazel, little flecks of orangish-brown highlighting his naturally dark irises.
Jimin’s eyes drop to your lips, and you feel your stomach drop along with them. Even though you’re not touching each other, your skin tingles with the knowledge that you could be touching. He’s so close. All it would take is one tiny shuffle forward, and you could slot yourself against his nimble — but what you assume is a very solid — frame.
“Yeah,” he speaks as he releases a soft exhale. You feel his warmth and shudder. “Thank you, still.”
“No problem,” you whisper.
Jimin’s tongue darts out to run across his bottom lip. His teeth draw it in slightly, and when he lets go, you can see how his lip bounces back into place.
Dragging your eyes back to meet his takes an embarrassing amount of effort. He’s finally looking at your eyes, too, with an expression you don’t understand because you don’t really know him.
“How much do I owe you?”
Right. Because he’s here with Yoongi for a reason. You swallow, turning your head to the side to hopefully break whatever spell Jimin and weed have put you under.
“Don’t worry about it.”
Jimin inhales sharply, but you keep your eyes down. “I must pay you something. I don’t know what’s a standard amount.”
If you were anyone else, you could honestly rip him off. The guy has no clue — he is even admitting that he doesn’t! But there are embers smoldering in the pit of your stomach.
“Nope,” you say with a tone of finality. You can hardly think before your following words slip out of your mouth like snakes. “Pretty Boys get weed free of charge.”
“W-w-what?” Jimin looks unbearably cute when he’s confused. It’s almost too much for you to handle.
So you don’t.
Without another word, you head back to the living room. Jimin follows silently. You’re sure his face is still painted with shock because Yoongi gives the two of you an odd look.
“Right where I left you,” you tease.
Untangling his limbs from Hoseok’s, Yoongi lets out an old man grunt and stands. You hadn’t believed him when he said he wouldn’t be staying, but it’s clear that he’s sticking to his promise when he starts patting down his legs to make sure he has his keys.
“Got what you need, Chim?”
Chim? How close are Yoongi and Jimin? And why are you only now learning of this friendship?
Jimin nods, his bottom lip between his teeth once again. He insists that you’ve been a great help to him, all while keeping his eyes locked with yours. It’s so different than his shy avoidance in class.
“Don’t worry, Yoong,” you insist as you plop back on the couch. Your joint is patiently waiting for you. “I took good care of him.”
🍃
You’ve never been very good at math, but it doesn’t take a mathematician to know that Pretty Boy Jimin ends up costing you hundreds of dollars as the semester progresses.
All your peers will walk away from law school making six figures easily. But not you. You just had to give a shit about the world, didn’t you? You just had to pick an area of law that values protecting human rights over making a profit.
God, being a good person is so hard!
And now, Park Jimin is sucking you dry before you can even earn money. Every time his fat little ass sashays away from your apartment with another jar of free weed, you can practically hear the chime of money signs ringing out with each step.
There’s a worse feeling, though. It hadn’t occurred to you until now, as you stand in the entranceway of Jimin’s apartment unit, your backpack carrying precious cargo inside slung over one shoulder.
Allowing Jimin to walk out of your apartment with the Pretty Boy Discount of free marijuana hurts your pocket, but doing a free weed delivery is even more pathetic. You're wasting your own time and gas money to drive to Park Jimin’s motherfucking apartment to deliver him weed that you aren’t even going to charge him for simply because he’s hot.
Maybe this is the terrible consequence of abstaining from sex to “focus on school” — as if smoking weed with Hoseok all day isn’t a distraction. But, on the other hand, maybe you just need to get laid.
Dipping on this commitment would be easy, you think as you bounce on the balls of your feet. You could leave right now before Jimin answers the door, ask Hoseok to handle Jimin’s future requests, and put all of this behind you. But, of course, the entire situation is ridiculous anyway. You don’t even know Jimin. Not really.
There’s a clicking sound from the other side of Jimin’s front door. Logically, you know it’s the sound of him unlocking the door, but your nerves tell you it’s the sound of your fate being locked into place. It may as well be because Jimin opens the door with a smile that puffs up his cheeks, his hair looks damp, and he smells like body wash.
Fuck.
“Hi!” His voice squeaks, but a deep cough returns it to a normal tone. “I mean, uh, I appreciate you coming by.”
Your tongue presses into your cheek as you regard him for a moment. He might consider your silence as negative because he quickly sidesteps to allow you into his apartment.
You give Jimin a smirk. “I think you should at least give me a tip.”
“O-oh, I mean… oh, um,” he stutters, and you can’t help but laugh.
A rush of air escapes your nostrils in a low-energy, nearly silent laugh. While coming to Jimin’s place might seem like a lot of effort, the truth is that you’re bored, and lately, you’ve been seeking anything to get your mind off the loneliness you feel when your apartment is dark and Hoseok is with Yoongi.
So, even though part of you chastises yourself, you’re willing to risk looking pathetic or desperate if it means you can have someone to smoke with and get some time away from your too-quiet apartment. Not because Jimin is the most attractive person you’ve ever seen in your entire life.
Jimin’s pretty eyes widen, and you quickly wave your hand to brush off his sudden panic.
“I’m kidding,” you confess as you twist your backpack around your body to pull out a small glass mason jar. It’s cute how concerned he is.
No, not cute. Naive. You shake yourself out of the feeling.
”Well, come on then.” You walk through Jimin’s apartment into the living room. It’s your first time making a delivery with him, so you’ve never been to his apartment. Yet you walk through the building with unearned familiarity. You’ve got manners; sometimes, you choose not to use them.
“How have you and Hoseok been?”
“Prepping for finals. And that fucking oral argument Kim’s got us doing,” you groan. School talk wasn’t something you had in mind when you showed up, but in the months you’ve spent getting to know Jimin more, you’ve learned he’s a total nerd. He’s probably excited about the assessment.
“Sometimes I think he’s trying to kill us,” Jimin says with a slight grin. “Is it ethical, moral, or legal to terrify your students to the point of throwing up before evaluations?”
“Don’t tease Yoongi like that! You know he has public speaking anxiety!”
Jimin does a little half-skip to avoid your attempt to slap his chest. Although you know the both of you are drowning in student loans and law school tuition fees, the apartment is much nicer than expected. You wonder if Jimin has a roommate. He’s never mentioned one before.
“Don’t tell him, or he’ll beat me up.”
Eyerolls aren’t a commitment to anything, but you know Jimin knows you wouldn’t dare repeat his words.
Plopping onto his couch, you scoot the coffee table between your knees and set the jar down. Beside the jar, you place everything you need to roll for Jimin, including a grinder and swishers. You could have rolled it all in advance, but you don’t like to feel rushed. Prepping is the best part. It relaxes you.
Jimin slowly slides into place beside you on the couch. He leaves enough room between the two of you to be respectful, although something tells you it’s less about his desire to make you feel comfortable and more about his discomfort.
He’s nervous, but you don’t know why. He keeps dragging his palms against his thighs, roughly rubbing his jeans. Every once in a while, he lifts his hand to touch his bottom lip. Then, when you sneak a glance at him, he quickly turns away. There’s nothing of note to look at in the apartment, but he seems engrossed in something for those fleeting moments before you’re sure he’s looking at you once again.
“I should probably learn how to do this… Like, properly… I can’t remember everything you did the first time,” Jimin mumbles. When you look up, his cheeks are dusted a light pink.
“Sorry, I probably went too fast that time.” You give him an apologetic look that makes his face redden even more. “It’s not as hard as people make it out to be. Just need a good teacher.”
If Jimin expects you to be his teacher again, he doesn’t say so. You could be. You can’t stop yourself from giving the guy free weed; you might as well add comprehensive rolling lessons in the mix.
By this point, rolling a blunt is about muscle memory; you don’t have to use an ounce of brainpower. Your eyes can wander, sweep over the contents of Jimin's living room, your thoughts floating off to wonder about the little details of the man’s life you aren’t privy to. Who are his friends? Where is his family? You look for photographs on shelves or hanging on the walls, items that are a staple in your and Hoseok’s apartment. Would Yoongi be in any of his photos? So many people in the city come in like ghosts.
“Do you, um, would you like to stay?”
Jimin's voice pulls you back to the living room, where your hands have already finished two blunts without you realizing it.
"Isn’t that what you meant when you said I could smoke with you?" You question around the blunt you’ve brought between your lips, pausing to light it.
Jimin shakes his head, not as an answer to your question, but to himself. “Yes, of course.”
“You wanna share this or smoke your own?" You can keep working on rolling the rest in the meantime.
Rather than answer your question verbally, Jimin does something that makes your heart fall into the pit of your fucking stomach. The supposedly shy, naive man parts his lips and juts his chin toward you.
The meaning behind his action hits you in the chest immediately. You let your eyes drift over his mouth, and you try not to react when his tongue swipes across his bottom lip while he patiently waits for you to give him what he wants. And you’re gonna do it, too. No questions asked.
Pinching the blunt between your middle finger and thumb, you twist on the couch to face Jimin with your legs tucked beneath you. Of course, if your fingertips brush against his lips when you place the blunt between them, that’s no one’s business, and you fucking plead the fifth, thanks.
Jimin’s eyes never leave yours when he wraps his lips around the blunt and inhales. He takes the hit like a champ, not coughing once despite the smoke’s thickness when he exhales. It’s been a few months since he started coming to you for weed. You shouldn’t be proud of his improvement, but you are anyway. Even if it’s weird to be.
“Thanks.” Jimin looks like a droopy-eyed dragon, eyes heavy and narrow when he expresses his appreciation. His voice is low and thick, and it makes your stomach swoop.
You nod your head and take the blunt from him. “No problem.”
Time is hardly discernible in normal circumstances for you, especially when you’re high. So you can’t imagine how long you sit with Jimin on his couch, watching smoke billow in the air and talking about how unfortunate it is that Frank Ocean and Rihanna ghosted the music industry.
For a while, the two of you fall silent. You lean your head against the couch and close your eyes, content with listening to the music Jimin put on until another thought enters your mind. One you can’t bring yourself to ignore.
“You ever fucked while you’re high?”
You ask the question once you and Jimin have finished the first blunt and move on to the second. The lighter you’re using is hot pink with blue and purple flowers printed on it. Something feels fitting about that.
The question takes you by surprise even though you’re the one asking it, unsure why you’re asking it aside from knowing the weed will make you more likely to speak your mind. Jimin, though. The poor guy is even more startled. As he should be, you think.
His hand trembles slightly when he passes you the blunt when it’s your turn to take a hit. “Uhh, um, have I— what?”
You roll your eyes and blow a smoke ring in Jimin’s direction. You wait for his coughing to subside before you repeat yourself.
“Have you ever had sex while under the influence of marijuana, Jimin-ssi?”
“No…”
“Hmm, you should. It’s really fun. Feels good.”
“Oh.”
“Do you wanna try it now?”
It’s comical how Jimin gulps, literally gulps, like a fucking cartoon character. “Now?”
Marijuana is an aphrodisiac. It won’t make Jimin want you, but it’s clear from his suggestive behavior that he already does. The weed will simply, hopefully, make him less nervous about it.
You pretend you don’t notice how he shifts to press his thighs together on the couch.
“Come on,” you encourage him. “Stop thinking so much.”
You know you’re too forward and sudden, but it feels justified because you’ve been thinking about Jimin for months. The buildup over the past few months has been stifling.
Giving consent is what finally unlocks something in Jimin. One moment he’s staring at you with wide, timid eyes; the next, he’s got his hand around your throat.
With a light squeeze, Jimin pulls you into him to slot his lips with yours. Holding back a moan is nearly impossible when his tongue pries your lips open. It’s wet and hot, and your skin tingles when you taste the smoke on him when his tongue curls around your own. Smoking always makes you feel warm, but you feel like you’re on fire when Jimin whimpers into your mouth. His pace is unrelenting. You feel like you’re tripping over yourself as you attempt to keep up with the quick work of his lips. The effort has you practically straddling his lap.
Tightening his grip on your throat, Jimin uses it to tilt you how he wants you. A pleased hum vibrates against your mouth when he hears you moan from the pressure of his fingers digging into the soft skin of your neck. It’s only when you start to get lightheaded, and your lips slow that Jimin finally pulls away.
His eyes' heavy, sensual look remains, but you’re surprised to find his slick lips forced into a frown.
“I’m sorry.”
You could ask why, but you assume Jimin’s forwardness isn’t typical behavior. The good thing is that it is for you.
Rather than address the unnecessary tension, you let your lips do all the work and pull Jimin in for another ruthless kiss.
“I don’t wanna hear any apologies from you,” you murmur against his mouth. “The only thing I want your lips doing is eating me out.”
Jimin lets out a high-pitched whine that sets something dangerous off, buzzing through your body. “Please.”
Maybe you’re pathetic with how quickly you strip yourself of your clothes, but Jimin doesn’t seem to care. His eyes never leave your body as you toss the clothing onto the floor. “You’re so beautiful…”
“Yeah?” You lean with your back against the arm of the couch, scooting down slightly so you can let your legs fall open.
He nods sharply and is silent momentarily as he rubs his palms down the length of your legs, settling between them.
"I've always wanted to talk to you," Jimin speaks with a hushed tone. He presses an open-mouthed kiss to the inside of your thigh. "I just get nervous. I'm sure that seems pretty lame."
You shake your head, not trusting yourself to speak. Every touch sends goosebumps pebbling across your skin. It’s exhilarating. You feel like your entire body is a hot wire, sparking and buzzing at a dangerous frequency.
"Yoongi said this would be a good way for us to get to know each other. The weed, not this this!" It's shocking to you how adorable he can be at the same time he sucks the skin of your inner thigh into his mouth, swirling his tongue around after biting down hard enough to make you gasp.
Your head falls back as you feel the tip of Jimin’s tongue drags along your clit. He swirls it around, drawing small circles in a steady rhythm. Every time his tongue pulls back, you can hear a soft smacking sound of his lips. He’s likely swallowing the drool collecting in his mouth. You’re sure he’s probably getting a bad case of cotton mouth from the excessive sound.
It makes you smile knowing he’s that sensitive. It takes much more weed in your system to start feeling dry in the mouth, but you’ve been smoking more years than Jimin and at a higher frequency.
“Oh fuck,” you moan out a misshapen puff of smoke when Jimin’s tongue returns to your clit.
This time he wraps his plush lips around it and suckles lightly, using his tongue to flick from side to side. His little grunts and moans make your pussy vibrate, sending a tingling sensation through the inside of your thighs and down to your toes.
Your hand shakes as you bring the blunt back to your lips. A whine tries to break through, but you force it back down your throat as you inhale more smoke. It’s hard when your body feels like it’s burning up.
Every gentle touch of Jimin’s lips and tongue on your skin feels like a punch to your stomach in a way that is so deliriously delicious you can hardly take it. Wetness drips down your pussy and smears against your thighs, either from your arousal or Jimin’s drool or both, but you don’t care how messy it is when Jimin pulls back enough to spit more onto your clit.
You let out a surprised sound, lifting your head slightly to see a string of saliva connect Jimin’s pouty bottom lip with your skin.
Fuck, you didn’t think Pretty Boy had it in him.
Using two fingers, Jimin spreads his spit around your clit, pushing it down until he slides into your pussy with ease. You didn’t need the extra lubrication, but you groan at the wet sound that echoes through Jimin’s apartment as he thrusts his fingers deep inside you. He brings his lips back to your clit, sucking harder and massaging your skin with his tongue even faster to match the pace his fingers take.
When he finally locates the spot that makes your legs shake, hitting it repeatedly, you dig your fingers into his fluffy hair and yank his head back.
“H-h-here,” you stutter, pressing the blunt against his lips. They’re shiny, and the idea of sticking a wet blunt between your lips makes you want to cringe, but you don’t care because his lips are shiny with you.
Jimin doesn’t stop thrusting into you, but his pace slows as he concentrates on taking another hit.
“I’m so fucking hard,” he groans. With the blunt between his lips, Jimin’s hands fly to unbutton his jeans. Another groan sounds around the blunt once he’s freed himself of the retraining pants.
You let out a quiet sigh as you try to collect yourself while Jimin smokes. “I told you it feels good. It’s different, isn’t it?”
“Mhmm…”
There’s a large wet patch staining the front of Jimin’s briefs. It makes the fabric stick to his cock, clearly outlining his length and girth — big enough to make you drool but small enough that you won’t go home sore and regretful.
“Lemme ride you.” You use your free hand to push Jimin into the back of the couch. He plants his feet on the floor and spreads his thighs as you get comfortable in his lap. “Wanna smoke the rest while we fuck.”
Your head is in the clouds, your body melting like butter as Jimin skirts his hands along your sides. He eventually pauses to squeeze your hips, and you swear you can feel him all over you.
It’s quick work, tugging down the final article of clothing separating the two of you. It’s hard not to stare, especially when Jimin twitches and shivers with every light touch of your fingertips along the ridges and veins of his cock.
Your clit drags against the head of his cock when you adjust in his lap, and you let out a ragged moan.
“Soaked,” Jimin murmurs, “You’ve got me all wet.”
It’s true. Jimin’s thighs glisten from where you’ve leaked all over him. Your clit throbs so much it’s beginning to hurt from the sensitivity.
“Condom,” you practically wheeze out. “If you go in raw, you’re probably gonna bust a nut immediately, and I’m not interested in that for many reasons.”
Jimin’s face turns even pinker.
“O-okay, give me a second, please.” So fucking polite, and for what?
He holds you at the base of your spine with one hand as he leans forward to snatch his jeans with his other hand. There’s a condom in his wallet, so you assume your classmate isn’t all innocent.
It’s quick work rolling the condom on. Uninterested in teasing yourself further because you feel like you’ll die if you don’t orgasm soon, you push Jimin hard against the back of the couch. You slip down his cock with ease, with no stretch or sting, from how turned on you are.
“I feel like I’m already gonna come.” Jimin throws his head back against the couch.
His lips fall open, and you quickly snatch the blunt from them so it doesn’t fall and burn one of you. He looks beautiful, angelic even. His lips are puffy and pink, his cute little mismatched front teeth peeking out. His tongue flicks around his mouth as his breathing grows heavier.
You squeeze one of his shoulders with your free hand while your other keeps the blunt pinched to your lips. As you take a drag, you lift your hips and quickly bring them back down, your ass slapping Jimin’s thighs as you engulf his cock again. Your skin sounds wet and sticky, but Jimin’s whine drowns out the sound.
“Shit,” he hisses. Blunt nails dig into your skin, but it doesn’t hurt; it only feels good. Everything feels so good.
You hardly notice how hard you shake as you slam yourself down on Jimins’ cock again. Your head is too spacey to go fast, but you do your best to set a steady pace of bouncing on Jimin’s cock. It doesn’t matter if he’s already going to come. You feel your orgasm building up with every squeeze of his fingers and the pathetic moans from his mouth.
You lean forward to latch your lips to the base of Jimin’s neck when he again drops his head. Pulling the skin into your mouth, you suck hard. You know the shock the discomfort will send across his body, pain that quickly morphs into pleasure and makes his cock twitch inside you.
“Jesus Christ.” Jimin reaches up to brush his bangs away from his eyes. Sweat makes the hair remain in place, pushed up, making him look as wrecked as he sounds. His cheeks are bright red now, and the color bleeds down his neck, where you’re sure his chest is bright red, too.
Fuck, why didn’t you take off his shirt? It feels like a quick and dirty fuck, although you’re not sure you want it to be. You’re unsure what you want this to be or mean. Or how you want it to feel.
All you know is that you feel like you’ll come at the sight of Jimin’s toned stomach and chest when you pull the hem of his shirt up to bunch it right above his nipples.
Holding onto the fabric gives you more leverage to pick up your pace. It’s needed because Jimin is a puddle beneath you. His arms are tossed to his slides like they’re made out of rubber, flopped onto the couch cushions. He can barely lift his hips. He only makes a few weak attempts to thrust into you before he’s whining again, head lolled to the side with furrowed eyebrows. He looks so fucked out.
“Please, ahh, fuck, please,” Jimin begs, though you’re not sure for what.
“Wanna come, pretty boy?” You squeeze his t-shirt harder and yank it slightly, just enough to pull Jimin’s back a few inches from the couch. “You’re gonna have to work harder. I already gave you so much.”
Jimin’s eyes roll in pleasure when you clench around him, little “oh’s” and “ah’s” punched out of him. “Okay, yes, yes, fuck, yes, I’ll be soooo—”
You bring his hands back to your waist as he babbles. The contact must give him a bit of clarity because he pulls his bottom lip between his teeth and begins to thrust into you hard.
“I’ll. Be. So. Fucking. Good.” Every word is punctuated by a mind-shattering thrust as Jimin pulls you down onto his cock.
If you were on the edge before, you’re falling by the time he picks up the pace and thrusts into you even harder. The buildup was long and hot, yet your orgasm hits you so hard it might as well have been a surprise.
You curl into yourself and press your face into the crook of Jimin’s neck while he continues his unforgiving rhythm until he comes with a choked-out moan of your name.
The silence should be uncomfortable. How awkward and irrational was it to simply… tell Jimin that you wanted to fuck? And for Jimin to go along with it? Casual hookups aren’t really your thing. Pretty Boy Jimin seems to be the exception for everything, though.
Heavy breathing fills the silence as the two of you try to calm down, your chests rising and falling in tandem. It’s comforting to lean all your weight on Jimin, despite how his bunched-up t-shirt presses uncomfortably into your chest. Even the feeling of his cock softening inside of you doesn’t bother you any.
At some point, Jimin had placed the blunt in the ashtray on the coffee table. It's shocking that he had the mind to do so; you would have accidentally burned a hole into his comfy, expensive-looking couch. It's a good thing you had the mind to use a condom. Imagine burn marks and cum stains. Sheesh.
The kiss Jimin presses to your temple when he turns his head feels way more domestic than you deserve. You smile, teeth pressed against his skin, despite yourself. You can blame the giddiness you feel on the weed, and not whatever Pretty Boy Jimin has done to trigger warmth inside your chest.
“I think I gave you more than the tip…”
With narrowed eyes, you lift your head from Jimin’s neck to look him square in the face so quickly that you’re worried you might pull a muscle in your neck. “You’re not fucking funny.”
Jimin lets his head fall back to laugh hard enough that his eyes squeeze shut. It’s so endearing that you overlook such a bad joke. Pretty Boy Jimin seems to get away with a lot. You don’t mind it as much as you act like you do.

Framed
Hello there! It’s been a while since I’ve written anything but I recently began watching Criminal Minds again and fell in love with Aaron Hotchner all over again as well, so I just had to write this, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it :) This is my first Criminal Minds (published) fanfic, and the first Hotch x Reader I’ve written ever! (also the first nsfw)
ONE SHOT (but who knows, it may even have a part 2 on a future maybe not-so-near but not-so-far-away either)
Pairing: Aaron Hotchner x Cis!fem!reader
Rating: 18+
Word count: 3467
Summary: reader has been accused of murdering her older, rich ex-fiancé (of course I took my inspo for this piece of fanfiction from Brooke Whyndam, of the movie “Legally blonde”, also, the line “then show them a picture of his dick” is from that movie).
Warnings: NSFW content (innuendo, sex, curse words, age gap - reader is in her mid twenties, Hotch is in his early/mid forties)
Tumblr media
“I didn’t do it!” you scream one last time slamming your fist on the table, on the edge of tears.
It had passed around 8 hours already with you in custody, accused of the murder of your ex-fiancé, a (quite older) man, CEO of a big company in town, and as if that wasn’t enough, the best friend of the sheriff.
SSA Aaron Hotchner rubs his face, tired, after observing Prentiss and Morgan’s attempts to get you to confess. It’s almost 3am.
“Sheriff, with all due respect, I think she’s telling the truth” he tells him with a soft voice after a deep sigh.
“And with all due respect, you profiled that the suspect would be a female in her mid twenties, who we’d have to get the information out of her”.
“And we also profiled she’d be seeking for attention and validation which we don’t see it happening do we?” Aaron retorts rolling his eyes discreetly.
The sheriff gives SSA Aaron Hotchner one last glance before grabbing the doorknob of the interrogation room and storming in, Hotch follows close behind, seeing how the sheriff turns off the videocamera recording what happens inside the interrogation room, knowing no good can come from asking the same questions over and over again when everybody is also tired and fed up with trying to get a false confession out of you, which, from your behavior, Hotch knows it’s impossible.
“That’s it!” the sheriff yells “You killed my best friend! Either you confess or I’ll let you rot in here the rest of the 72 hours we can have you legally detained!”
“For the last time, I. Didn’t. Do it!” you yell back.
The BAU team exchanges glances between each other.
“What judge is going to believe you huh? You were engaged to a successful man in his mid fifties! And then he goes and marries someone even younger than you!”
“That was over two years ago!” you talk back.
“You had motive and opportunity, no judge nor jury is going to understand any other reason for you to be with him that is not for the money”.
“Then show them a picture of his dick! That might clear a few things up” you finally bark at him. The sheriff looks at you in astonishment. Morgan disguises a snicker as a cough, Prentiss bites down her lower lip to suppress a laugh, and Hotchner… Hotchner just stands impassive at you.
The sheriff leaves the room enraged, and everyone else follows, not before giving you an apologetic look. Hotchner is the last one to stay. You see the slightest doubt on his eyes and the subtle twist his lips make. You know he’s thinking about letting you go, but he then lowers his stare and gets out of the room, just like everybody else.
You sigh, drained out of energy after all the interrogations. This can’t be happening to you.
You knew since the moment you met John, that just his pure acquaintance could ruin your life. He had many enemies, and even more groupies who belonged to social circles that if you hadn’t met him, you would have never even imagined they existed, but what you had never imagined either, was that after all the heartbreak, loss and pain of what you thought in that moment to be the love of your life, you’d be reliving all those feelings, cause of some stupid cop negligence.
You lay your head slowly on the table, feeling the coldness of the metal surface on your cheek, and close your eyes for just a couple of minutes. You can’t sleep, not until this nightmare is all over, but at least, you get to have a few moments of peace and quiet before some other agent enters the room and begins yet another interrogation, demanding new information. Information you don’t have.
Outside the gray room, where you can’t hear nor see anything, the BAU team argues with the sheriff about your freedom.
“We’ve gotten out of her everything we’re going to get, I’m telling you, she didn’t do it” Morgan tries to reason with him.
“An unsub who planned a homicide this calculated would be equally calculated both on his answers and his behavior, this girl was in shock when we started showing her the case photos and couldn’t get a single cohesive phrase out. You can’t pin this murder on her” Emily backs up Morgan.
The sheriff looks at both of them, puffs a sigh and places his hands on his hips before discussing.
“Look, I get it, you profilers or whatever think you’re better than all of us, but this is still my county, and while I can have her in custody, I will. Who knows? She might even give up a confession or at least some new information. Goodnight gentlemen. And lady” he starts to walk to the exit without giving any of them any chance to convince him “I suggest you too get some rest. It’s been a long day and there’s one even longer ahead of us. Lock up when you get out”.
With that last statement, the sheriff ends the discussion and exits the precinct. Morgan and Prentiss move their heads in disagreement, proceeding to look back at Hotch, who is frowning at the door the sheriff just left through.
“What now?” both the BAU members look at the unit chief.
“Sheriff is right in one thing: you should get some rest. I’ll stay here with (Y/N), keep her company and see if there’s something we missed” he declares “Call Reid, Rossi and JJ, head back to the hotel, I’ll catch up with you in a few hours”.
“Hotch she’s not our unsub” Morgan defends you again “I mean we could, let her go right?”
“I’m afraid not. If we step ahead of the local officers, we might make things worse by getting ourselves kicked out of the investigation. It’ll be of more use the sooner we find something, anything, that might help (Y/N) clear her name and get her out of here” Hotch answers, he’s looking at Morgan but directs his orders to both of them, he knows his team too well to not know for a fact that Emily is the one who’s more inclined to let you go. They both nod silently.
“All right” Emily surrenders, not just because she’s too tired to continue arguing, but because she also knows that perhaps getting back to the hotel and going over some of the facts and scenes with Reid or JJ, might be more useful “Do you want me to stay with you? I mean the precinct is completely empty. You’ll be here all by yourself”.
“It’s okay. You and Morgan. Hotel. Rest. We’ll gather first thing in the morning and go through everything we have so far” he assures and doesn’t wait for a reply, beginning to walk back to the interrogation room, hearing the exit door of the precinct close behind him and the key turning.
When he enters again, he finds you on the same position you were trying to rest, your cheek against the now warm table, your hair falling on it and covering parts of your face.
“I’m not asleep” you mutter softly “I just needed to clear my head, breath and relax for a bit”.
Hotch lets out an almost imperceptible sigh, but everything is so quiet, that you get to hear it.
“(Y/N) I know you didn’t do it” he pronounces just as softly as you.
“Really?” you frown and shift your position, sitting back on the chair, looking at him “Then… can I go?”
He presses his lips into a straight line, and lets out a firm, but still tender “no”. A single tear escapes your right eye and you wipe it off quickly, not quite giving in to the emotions just yet. Hotch notices and comes to stand right next to you, laying on the edge of the table.
“If I’d let you go, the local authorities would not let us continue the investigation and they’d pin that murder on you. Trust me, the best we can do right now is wait a few hours until everyone has cooled down and come back with fresh eyes” he guarantees you, his features relaxing as he tells you this “Everything’s gonna be fine”.
“Everything’s gonna be fine” you repeat his words slowly, then look up at him. Damn it. He’s handsome. It’s no secret to anyone you have a thing for older men, but did that trait really have to emerge right now? You can’t help but to laugh out loud at the thought, it’s absurd to you that you could be thinking of that when you’re being accused of murder.
“What’s so funny?” he asks confused, and distances himself ever so slightly from you, without leaving his place on the table.
“Nothing, just…” you start, in an attempt to explain yourself and don’t end up looking crazy “God, if I had met you under any other circumstances, I’d probably be all over you right now”.
SSA Aaron Hotchner does not move, nor his face changes towards you, but you can see the most subtle blush on his cheeks, and his fists tightening. His lips finally crack up a light smile, finding the situation absurd as well, he quickly remembers the videocamera is off.
“You do realize you could be facing murder charges, right?” he asks playfully, kinda mocking you, keeping the volume of his voice down.
“I know, I know, I’m sorry” you apologize “It’s just so late, I’m tired, and well, you’re smoking hot” you confess with an apologetic, but also mischievous, look. Hotch finally lets out a laugh. Get a hold of yourself, Hotchner, he thinks to himself, takes a deep breath and goes back to his serious stare.
“(Y/N), I understand it’s been a long day in which you’ve been under a lot of pressure, but for me to keep up this game would be not only unprofessional, but also unethical. Your mind is probably just making up this crush for you to pass the time and distract yourself from what is happening. You’ll get over me” he explains sweetly.
“I wish I could get under you instead…” your witty retort catches him off guard, he swallows hard and starts coughing. He’s not used to women flirting with him anymore, not for a long time, let alone women almost half his age.
“I’ll see you in a few hours” he says standing up and reaching towards the door, not really uncomfortable by your approaches, but more by his increasing boner.
“No, okay I’m sorry, please stay with me” you beg him, standing up as well “I was just joking. Well, not really, but just… please keep me company, stay?”
He turns back at you not realizing how close you are, less than a couple steps behind him and he almost crashes into you, but he prevents the two of you from tripping by stabilizing himself grabbing your hips, but his hands can’t get to let go afterwards. You breath heavily, feeling the arousal and heat from the proximity suffocating you.
“Please fuck me” you half ask, half beg, admitting to yourself that what you need right now is precisely what agent Hotchner said: relieving some stress and distraction.
SSA Aaron Hotchner can’t help himself.
Ugh, fuck it, he thinks. It’s the sheriff’s fault for turning off the videocamera in an attempt to scare you and try and trick you into making a confession.
Without any further notice, he grabs your ass and the highest part of the back of your thighs to lift you. Your legs instinctively wrap around his back and your arms around his neck, not breaking eye contact as you let him carry you to the table. He places you on the table with tenderness, caressing your back as he does so. You bring your dominant hand to grab his tie and pull him in for a long, wet, controlled kiss, running your other hand along his arm and chest, ending the trace on his cheek, allowing your thumb to move back and forth on his skin.
Quite to be honest, Aaron doesn’t know how well he’ll be able to perform. It’s been a while since he’s last had sex, and his mind is always either on his job, or his family. He’ll probably won’t last more than a few minutes. But he can try and make it up to you.
He begins to deviate his trace of wet kisses from your mouth, to you jaw, your neck, and slowly your chest, discovering little by little the skin under your clothes, while his hands drop by the side of your waist, hips and legs, exploring you under the midi skirt you’re wearing. His right hand finds the slit between your legs, covered by your panties, and starts caressing it through the fabric. He listens to you moan and brings his other hand to cover your mouth with endearment, letting you know you’ve got to keep quiet.
He moves your panties to the side and traces one finger along your slick, inserting it inside of you. You have to suppress an even louder moan. He moves that one finger up and down, hitting your G spot, inserting another finger when you’re ready.
“Please” you beg once again. Aaron chuckles, grabbing you and getting you closer to the edge of the table, proceeding to get down on his knees and sucking all your juices without any type of heads up. You can’t but let out a loud moan. He looks up at you, and even though his eyes demand silence, you can tell there’s the slightest grin on his lips, before he continues sucking and licking your folds and clit. Your back drops to the table, unable to keep yourself steady so you can watch him. You’re trembling with desire and lust “Agent Hotchner, please” you beg once again. Hearing you call him ‘agent Hotchner’ does something to him. He stands up, wiping a little bit of your juices off his mouth and kissing you afterwards, his hands resting on either side of you on the table, one of them coming to grab each of your nipples one at a time.
“How much do you want this?” he asks softly.
“I need you” you answer “Please, fill me”.
His eyes meet yours and he nods slowly. His mouth comes to encircle one of your nipples as he pulls down your underwear and hides it in his suit pocket, and undoes his belt and trousers, without taking any clothes off. You come up from your laying position to support yourself with your elbows on the table, not wanting to miss how the special agent from the FBI takes his cock out to give it to you.
When he’s got it out and ready for you, he pumps it up and down a couple of times before lifting entirely your skirt and positioning himself in your entrance. He enters slowly, letting you take him all in, allowing you to accustom to his size, and for the love of him, he feels like he could explode any second. He breathes deeply and clears his mind, his ego not letting him end up looking like a teenager having his first time.
“Let me ride you” you ask after a few slow thrusts, needing more of him. He looks at you and nods.
God, what is he doing? At least you’re innocent. Are you? Right? You’ve gotta be. The profile doesn’t fit. But they’ve been wrong before haven’t they?
You exchange positions so he’s laying on the table, you get on top of him and guide his cock back into you again. You part your lips in a moan when you come down on him and begin moving your hips, his hands moving alongside them. You lower yourself without stopping so you can kiss him, rubbing your whole torso on his, your sweat making your skin slip on his skin. He grabs your breasts so he can bring them to his mouth, nibbling them.
Meanwhile, you’re wondering if this might just be another trick for you to let your guard down. But what could you say that might incriminate you? You know you’re innocent. What if he’s not even a real agent?
You’re so close that you can’t give yourself permission to sink into those thoughts, instead, you start riding Hotch faster and stronger, your clit rubbing against his pelvis as you do so.
“Aaron, Aaron…” you moan lowly. You don’t know if it’s okay that you’re on a first name basis already, but it just seems weird to you if you call him ‘Hotch’ like his colleagues.
It seems like he’s perfectly fine with it, as he digs his fingertips on your hips, encouraging you to keep going, feeling how your walls tense around him as your orgasm hits you.
You moan uncontrollably as you come, not being able to keep those in, digging your nails in Aaron’s shoulder suit sleeves. Afterwards, you lay slowly on his chest, until you start feeling like he’s pulling himself out.
“Wait” you gather and pull yourself up again, with him still inside of you “What are you doing? Don’t you wanna finish too?”
He looks at you in disbelief.
“Well I thought you may wanna rest or…” he begins explaining. You laugh and look fondly at him, lowering yourself again to murmur “don’t stop” in his ear.
Of course, he remembers. Twenties.
That’s everything he needs to start thrusting into you with everything he’s got left.
“(Y/N) I’m not-“ he tries to phrase “I’m not going to last longer, I’m- is it okay if I…?”
“Come inside me” you order “It’s okay, don’t worry, I’m on contraceptives”.
He decides to believe you, for his sake, and fastens his pace until it becomes sloppy, spilling inside of you just like you asked for, his cum filling you and showing between your folds as he brings himself out.
“Oh my god” he breathes out as he brings you down to his chest, securing his arms around your back, bringing you even closer to him “I’ll put you in handcuffs myself if it turns out you’re not innocent”.
You chuckle, tracing circles on his chest through the fabric of his shirt.
“I am. But still, you can put me in handcuffs any time you want”. He laughs alongside you, still feeling a bit like a teenager. A teenager who just did something very very wrong and that nobody should find out about. He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes for a few seconds before his cellphone starts ringing, he answers almost immediately.
“Hotchner” he says calmly “Yes I’m still here. No, everything’s fine, she’s… behaved. Prints don’t match? Well of course they don’t, was García able to tell whose are they then? Right. Well, tell her to keep digging. I’ll see you in a bit”.
After he hangs up he turns to you with a playful look.
“You never touched the gun that was in your purse, did you?” you shake your head.
“Guns and, weapons of any type really, give me the creeps, I just left it there thinking it was someone’s idea of pranking me or something”.
“Well that may have just made your case. You’re free to go. Whoever was trying to frame you did a lousy job not guessing you weren’t going to grab the gun” he tells you arching his brows at you. You stare perplexed at him.
“You’re serious? Oh my god Aaron! Thank you!” you exclaim kissing him.
“Yes, and we should get dressed and get out of here before anything else happens” he affirms gently, helping you stand up so you both can fix your clothes.
“Well, agent Hotchner, it’s been a pleasure. Truly” you tell him when the two of you are walking out of the interrogation room towards the exit.
“Pleasure is all mine, (Y/N)” he says, winking an eye at you “I’d like you to know… I don’t usually do this. I don’t…”
“Aaron” you interrupt sweetly, one of your hands coming to grab his forearm to stop him “I know. I can tell. It’s okay. I know that if I hadn’t initiated it or followed up you would have never even considered it, I get it… but now, can we please do it again?”
He chuckles.
“You know where we’re staying and the number of my hotel room, sweetheart. And I also recall reading on some case file that you’re from Virginia and were just visiting your home town?”
You smile widely at him as you nod, pulling him in from his tie for one last kiss. Or who knows, it might not even be the last one.

Greek God!Price x MaidenFem!Reader pt 2
Masterlist is pinned as always and please submit any requests to my inbox I dont bite
She had always been nervous around men, in her village they had always seemed rude and misogynist. Women were a commodity, their value based on purity and age. But Price was different. He treated her with respect and tenderness, making her feel safe and cherished. It was a new experience for her, and she couldn't help but feel nervous about it.
As she lay there, wide awake, she couldn't help but notice Price's movements in his sleep. He had gone from a respectful distance to spooning her side, his warm body pressed against hers. It was both comforting and unsettling at the same time.
She had agreed to spend the night in his bed, a decision that made her anxious. Changing in his master bathroom, she had put on one of his white undershirts that barely covered her upper-mid thigh. She worried about him seeing her exposed, about her own vulnerability in this unfamiliar situation.
The clock on the wall ticked away, reminding her of the late hour. She shivered, feeling the coldness of the room seep into her bones. Despite Price's warm body heat and the thick blankets, she couldn't find comfort. Her mind was preoccupied with thoughts of her nipples showing through the shirt or the possibility of her underwear being revealed.
But amidst her restlessness, she couldn't help but appreciate Price's gentle and kind nature. It was a stark contrast to her past experiences with the men who had tried to court her - often older and looking for a young housewife to act as a slave due to their wealth. She found herself slowly letting go of her fears and embracing the unfamiliar warmth that he offered.
Price stood out among the men she had encountered. He possessed a genuine gentlemanly demeanor that made her wonder if all gods were like him.
As her mind aimlessly drifted, she couldn't help but become fixated on Price's physique. Questions began to swirl in her thoughts, particularly about what lay beneath that thick sweater he now slept in. Were his muscles well-defined, sculpted from hours of hard work and dedication? Or were they hidden beneath a layer of softness, adding a touch of comfort to his appearance? The curiosity grew stronger, fueling her imagination as she envisioned the possibilities. It was a tantalizing mystery, one that she couldn't help but ponder, wondering if one day she would have the chance to uncover the truth.
As her mind wandered, it delved even deeper into his physical attributes, specifically focusing on what he possessed between his legs. Questions arose about its thickness, length, girth, and whether it was thin or substantial. She pondered whether he preferred a clean-shaven look or if his hair was coarse yet well-maintained, similar to his facial hair. Curiosity arose about the presence of freckles and whether it leaned towards one direction or the other. She wondered if it was pale or tan, what color the tip was. These thoughts consumed her mind, leaving her with a multitude of unanswered questions.
Her cheeks flushed with warmth as she realized the direction her thoughts were taking. It felt criminal. It was inappropriate to think of a man in such a way, especially someone like Price who was so sweet and such a gentleman. She began to question her own feelings towards him, fearing that she might be falling for a man who deserved a woman equally as remarkable to be his eternal partner. She pondered the qualities that would make a woman worthy of Price's affection. Would she need to possess extraordinary beauty, intelligence, or perhaps a combination of both?
The weight of her own self-doubt began to settle upon her, as she questioned whether she could ever measure up to the standards she imagined Price had. Perhaps he was waiting for some magic spark to ignite, maybe Eros to strike them with arrows to let him know it was meant to be or a letter hand-written from Aphrodite or Hera with approval. Something he seemingly so desired based on his adamant refusal of the other sacrificial women he considered for brides. He even said it himself, he wanted someone closer to his physical age to keep for an eternity as a partner, not just a wife.
Lost in her thoughts, she yearned for a sign, a glimpse into Price's true nature. She longed to know if he was as extraordinary as he appeared, or if her infatuation was merely a figment of her imagination, the facade of a god. Only time would reveal the answers she sought, and until then, she would continue to question her own worthiness of a god like Price.
He shifted again in his sleep, pulling her closer. His beard tickling against her neck, he took a deep breath. She couldn't help but think about the advice her friends had given her as a teenager. They had told her that men could determine if they wanted to marry a girl by the end of their first date. As she lay there, she wondered if the dinner they had just shared counted as a date. Did it hold any significance or was it just a casual outing with his friends? Her mind raced as she rubbed her legs together and nervously bit her lip. Being in such close proximity with a man was a new experience for her.
Suddenly, he began to stir in his sleep, a soft grunt escaping his mouth. Startled, she realized he was awake. "Why aren't you asleep?" he questioned, his voice filled with curiosity. "Humans need a good deal of sleep compared to us gods."
Her heart skipped a beat as she tried to come up with a response. "I... I couldn't sleep," she stammered, her voice barely audible. "I guess I'm just not used to... this."
He looked at her intently, his eyes filled with understanding. "It's okay," he said softly, reaching out to gently brush a strand of hair behind her ear. "We can take things slow. There's no rush."
As he held her close, she felt a warm and comforting feeling, giving her hope for a happy future. Could this amazing man be the one she would marry? And, by some lucky chance, did he really understand her deepest desires?
Finally, she drifted into a peaceful slumber, feeling a sense of tranquility and optimism. The man she had discovered, whom she might be falling in love with, had filled her heart with hope and affection. The thought of marrying him brought her immense joy and contentment. He was truly remarkable, and she could only wish that he felt the same way about her. Thankfully, it seemed like he did, and that realization filled her with even more happiness.

author's notes: This first chapter is a little bit of a mess imo, but I wanted to post it to assure you all that I don’t want to abandon this fic. It may take me longer to post and update chapters, especially since I graduated from uni (mwahahah) and my schedule may get busy. Still, I really enjoy writing this story—and you all seem to enjoy reading it. Both of those things are enough to keep me going.
Something extremely ironic happened around the time I was writing the last few chapters of Act 1. So… if you remember, in Chapter 6, Hannibal and the reader go on an opera date (of sorts). During that date, the reader remarks that they “don’t know the first thing about opera.” Those words were pretty much taken directly from my mouth. Fast forward to about mid-fall, I get a call for an interview for an internship. I end up doing the first interview, then a second interview… Then I get the internship. The irony? This internship is at an opera house. (What’s even more ironic is that I’m now getting to the point where I do actually know things about opera—I know different productions and directors and technical terms… It’s absolutely crazy. The universe is making me eat my words, lol.
To make matters even stranger, I was in the office for the internship one day and caught a glimpse of a television, which broadcasts what’s happening on the stage. Imagine my absolute surprise and fear when I look up at the television screen with absolutely no expectations and see a single man in a beige jumpsuit with something over his face standing on stage, his shadow silhouetted against the wall behind him. Imagine my surprise when I see that, not only is he standing in an enclosure with iron bars (just like the ones at Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane), but it also looks as if he is staring right at me—and he looks exactly like Hannibal Lecter in captivity. It was simultaneously scary as hell and weirdly reassuring. Anyway, I’ve taken these experiences as cosmic confirmation that I should continue writing this fic. Lol.
Anyway. Back to the important things… I’m planning to borrow elements from both Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon, but, similarly to the first act, there will be canon divergence and canon non-compliance. Also, as you probably discerned in the past act, there is some plot armor. But, this is fiction.

Your life currently takes two forms: before the Chesapeake Ripper… and after.
Before the Ripper, the leaf-stained pavement of the Bureau filled you with hope. Walking through the agency’s halls was a testament to the hard work that brought you there. Each assignment was an invaluable opportunity to further develop your interrogation and combat skills. You went to classes, completed assignments, trained, slept, and repeated the cycle the next day. Over and over and over again. But you were happy.
Life doesn’t feel so simple anymore. You feel like you’ve been fading for a while now, slowly deteriorating as you invest more and more energy into catching criminals. Your work has morphed into an exhausting mutual exchange, one in which you take murderers’ freedom and they take your restful nights. You can’t remember the last time you rested unencumbered by the horrors you’ve seen in the field.
By some miracle, Jack manages to keep the press relatively uninformed about the happenings behind the Ripper case. Everyone is too absorbed with the fact that Hannibal’s in captivity to remember to ask just how he got there, and you’re very grateful for that lapse in memory. You can just imagine the interactions you’d have with paparazzi. Is it true that he stabbed you? Is it true that he purposefully left you alive, only to surrender in your front yard and torment you with the constant knowledge that he will remain in the same place, lying in wait until the moment you will inevitably need him? You shudder.
Even with all the chaos that comes from the Ripper case—the media coverage of Hannibal and the attention the FBI gets—life goes on. Back at the Bureau, you occasionally lecture the new recruits and you take on assignments along with the rest of the Behavioral Analysis Unit. Jack is still wont to call on you at the most ungodly of hours; Beverly still trades lighthearted taunts with you; Brian Zeller still seems to hate your guts, for reasons you’re not quite sure of; Alana and you are back to a steady friendship, albeit with occasional beats of unexplained tension and awkward silence.
Criminality continues to occur in the Ripper’s wake. You’re not surprised: the imprisonment of one criminal doesn’t beget the imprisonment of another. Even so, it’s difficult for you to proceed as if things are normal. You see traces of Hannibal in each of the monsters you apprehend. Your emotions are starting to eat you alive from the inside. You don’t have a therapist to assist you with those emotions anymore. And, while you think therapy would be helpful, you also know that there’s no way in hell you’d be able to actually be honest with a therapist without being imprisoned yourself. The things you’ve done and the urges you’ve felt…  Neither is even close to a semblance of normality.
You take a deep breath. You have no issue stopping other criminals, sending them to empty white walls and thin mattresses. Why was Hannibal Lecter any different? You suppose you shouldn’t fool yourself—you know the answer to that question already: you got to know him. Beyond the mask of the Ripper, beyond the bloodied skin and cruel smile… You started to see him as a man, perhaps even a friend. Perhaps, even-
You tear yourself away from that thought process before it gets too far along. The semantics don’t matter now. All that matters is that you’re back in the field, back popping pills for your headaches and blinking fresh horrors from your eyes. All that matters is that the memory of Hannibal Lecter begins to fade away in the face of work— so much so that keeping busy helps you forget the pain.
Meanwhile, a hundred miles away, a veterinarian walks into a stable under a farmer’s guidance. The two stand over a dead horse and the veterinarian frowns. The farmer explains the horse’s death before stepping aside, letting the professional work.
The farmer quickly becomes lost in their thoughts. They hadn’t expected the horse to die in the middle of her pregnancy. The farmer swallows past the tightness in their throat and tears their eyes away from the horse. They were looking forward to the birth of the foal, looking forward to helping the mother raise her offspring. The stable air suddenly feels suffocating and they take a look at the veterinarian’s turned back before stepping outside to get some fresh air.
Moments later, the veterinarian rejoins them. The doctor’s lips are drawn in a tight line and there’s a troubled expression on their face. The farmer feels any remaining composure promptly seep out of them, as the veterinarian suggests they come back into the stable.
“It feels like there’s something here,” the veterinarian says, their expression conflicted. They touch the horse’s womb with a gloved hand and frown.
“She was pregnant,” the farmer chokes out, their throat feeling tight again. It hurts to utter the words aloud.
“With twins?” The veterinarian asks, turning around to look at them.
“No, just one baby,” the farmer shakes their head. Why would they ask about twins? Surely, they don’t feel another baby in the womb. The thought of two deaths is morbid and distressing enough, but three? The farmer inhales shakily.
“There’s… something else here.” The veterinarian remarks, their face contorting as they feel the horse’s womb once more. They turn back to look at the farmer for assistance. The farmer feels a horrible, inexplicable sense of foreboding crawling up their skin. Despite that feeling, they nod to the veterinarian. The doctor nods in response and turns to the horse’s womb, before making an incision.
The veterinarian unearths the dead foal and places it on the nearby hay with infinite gentleness. The farmer’s chest begins to hurt as they come to terms with the sight before them. Their pain doesn’t end there, however. The veterinarian continues slicing along the skin before stopping and glancing back at them inexplicably. It’s as if they’re waiting for permission to continue. The farmer appreciates the gesture and they nod in affirmation. This mystery needs to be put to rest.
The veterinarian inhales sharply, sending the farmer’s heart racing. The farmer prompts them to step aside, revealing the horse’s womb. There’s… something there. The farmer squints at it, a gasp ripping its way from their lips as they realize just what they’re looking at. A human corpse lies on the stable floor, a stark shock of muted crimson against the golden strands of hay. The farmer brings a shaking hand to their pocket and calls the police.
Unaware of these occurrences, you slowly exhale and pinch the bridge of your nose, feeling a headache coming on. You busy yourself with grading your students’ papers, and you don’t learn of the corpse until a few hours later, when the medicine begins to kick in and you’re foolishly convinced that you’ll be fine. Before you can leave for the day, Jack is walking up to you and beckoning you to the lab. The two of you grab Beverly along the way, which leaves the three of you to enter the laboratory that Price and Zeller are currently situated in. When you walk in, you’re immediately assaulted with the scent of formaldehyde. Price explains the situation behind the corpse, how a veterinarian found the body within the womb of a horse. The notion is strikingly similar to the other deaths by suffocation that have been eluding the BAU for several weeks. Jack seems to think the same thing, as he rattles off what he knows so far about the killer. You add things here and there—small things you can notice from the state of the corpse itself—before Price gets the group back on track.
“I called you here because…” Price trails off, frowning before readjusting his stethoscope and placing it on the victim’s chest once more. The room is deathly silent as he concentrates. “...There’s a heartbeat.”
“That doesn’t come with the onset of rigor mortis—we all know that,” Zeller continues, looking down at the corpse with a somewhat puzzled expression. He seems to sense you staring and looks up, his eyebrows furrowing as his gaze meets yours. “She’s dead.” He announces with complete certainty.
“She was found in the womb of the horse?” Beverly asks. Everyone else nods and she pauses for a moment. “Make an incision and check the chest cavity.” There’s an unshakeable certainty in her voice and it throws you off for a moment, before you realize what she’s getting at. It’s not unfathomable that something was buried within the victim’s chest cavity. Suffocation seems to be a common theme with this killer. Did they put some sort of dead animal in the corpse? The thought makes your stomach turn.
“Alright,” Price acquiesces, after glancing at Jack for approval. Crawford nods, evidently attributing value to Beverly’s suggestion. The four of you—Crawford, Beverly, Zeller, and you—watch as Price leans in and makes a careful incision in the chest. For several moments, there’s nothing but a tense silence in the air as Jimmy works. The quiet is broken a few seconds later when Price takes a sharp breath. “I saw something.”
“Keep going,” Jack demands, bringing Jimmy’s attention back to the task at hand. Price nods and makes the incision a little bigger. All of you are watching in anticipation, waiting for something you’re not quite sure will appear.
All of a sudden, there’s a flash of motion. A yellow blur flits about the cavity, before reaching upwards and extending its wings to fly out. You watch in disbelief as the bloodstained bird stretches its wings and flies about the lab, colliding with the sheen of the fluorescent lighting and sending shadows flickering along the floor.
Jack is the first one to respond. He quickly paces over to the small window located near the ceiling and opens it, allowing the bird an escape. For a few moments, the bird doesn’t seem to notice: it’s too overwhelmed with the sudden change in environment to comprehend that it has just been granted an escape. It has a chance at true freedom, but it’s too busy taking in the laboratory’s flimsy promises to notice. The bird eventually notices the open window and flies out of it, before Jack closes the laboratory off from the outside world once more.
The group begins discussing what just occurred, but your mind is elsewhere. You feel a strange sort of kinship with the bird: suffocated beneath rows of ribs and walls of tissue and skin; banished to the space between; too taken with the small allowances to notice freedom within reach. You pinch the bridge of your nose. Your headache is returning, as pressure builds up in your temples and constricts your very skin. It’s significantly harder to breathe. Every time you blink, you’re greeted with the memory of that bright yellow bird bursting from its confines, greeting the stale laboratory air with beating wings. You step outside the lab to get some fresh air, trading your smaller prison for a bigger one—just as the bird did mere moments ago.
It doesn’t take long for Jack to find you. After all, you’re not hidden—you’re simply leaning against the wall in the hallway that leads to the laboratory. Jack strides up to you, his hands in his pockets and that familiar tight line drawn across his face. You suspect he’ll get wrinkles a lot sooner than everyone else his age—sheerly because of all the responsibility he holds and the pressure he’s forced to perform under. It must be exhausting to be the one calling the shots in these horrible situations. You had always assumed Jack had the easy job, but looking at him now, you think that assumption must be incorrect. He is suffering, just as you are. Perhaps… Jack has just grown better at hiding it.
The thought makes Jack’s remark slip in one ear and right out the other. You ask him to repeat himself and he sighs. “We need to go to the stable where the corpse was found. There are several police officers there already, but…” But we need to do a more thorough investigation , he doesn’t say. You hear him anyway and nod. Jack walks past you and paces purposefully down the hall, not even bothering to look and see if you’re following him. Perhaps he already knows you will follow him.
What follows is an awkward car ride. Neither of the two of you attempt to break the tense silence, leaving a suffocating air of uncertainty and indecision. You don’t know what to say to Jack, so you instead busy yourself with looking out the window. You resolutely pretend not to notice your boss’s gaze repeatedly flitting over to you and, after a painful amount of time, Jack is driving up the gravel path that leads to a modest farmhouse and a beautiful wooden stable.
The place is already crawling with police officers and FBI agents. Unfortunately, the police were the first ones to be informed of the case, which means the FBI is forced to share jurisdiction with them. You know Jack isn’t too happy about that, especially once you see the frown on his face as he watches the police officers clumsily investigate. They don’t have the right training for a situation like this and Jack is delighted to inform them of that fact—albeit with much more sugar coated wording than you would have utilized. A few minutes later, the cops are gone, leaving Jack, you, and the set of agents that Jack requested to follow after your car on the drive over. The other agents are quick to secure the crime scene, while Jack and you decide to explore the premises a little first.
The property features a small, rather unremarkable house with slightly dirty bricks and a well-loved bench swing on the porch. The front door is agape, revealing hardwood flooring and items strewn about. Jack and you exchange a glance before walking into the home. You don’t see any sign of life until you reach the kitchen and come across an older woman sitting at the table, stirring a cup of tea. You’re quick to show your badge and explain the situation to her. She doesn’t seem to have a great idea of what’s going on, so you eventually decide to leave her be and keep looking about the property.
Next to the house is a rather large stable, complete with several different stalls and a wide variety of tools. You have no idea what half of the tools could possibly be used for, but the majority of them look as if they’ve been used at least once. There are bales of hay in the corner of the room and various accessories hanging near the post of each horse’s stall. There are only a few horses in the stable—you think you could’ve seen a few in the pastures out back earlier. There’s a horrible stench pervading the air, and it’s not the typical odor that comes from a farm. It’s the smell of death. You look at Jack and he nods, inclining his head and gesturing for you to continue exploring the stable. It isn’t until you reach the last stall—one that is inexplicably larger than the rest—that you find the source of the stench. The rotted corpse of the horse rests at the back of the stall, the womb flayed open. The organs have been removed, but the smell of decay remains. Surprisingly enough, you’re not alone in this stall. A brown-haired man sits cross-legged on the floor next to the horse, a blank expression on his face.
“...Hello?” You decide to try. There’s no response. “Excuse me?” Still no response.
You glance at Jack and he raises his eyebrows, before turning to the stranger. “You must be Peter Bernardone,” Jack remarks. The mention of the man’s name seems to be enough to get his attention. On second thought, you remember Jack offhandedly mentioning that there may be a stablehand on site. It seems you’ve found him.
“That’s me,” the man replies flatly, staring ahead with glassy eyes. He looks as if he’s on an entirely different plane of existence, as he looks at the wall ahead of him with enough intensity to melt it.
“Jack Crawford, FBI,” Jack answers with an introduction of his own. He flashes his badge for a moment before putting it away. You can’t tell if Peter is even paying attention, but you do the same to make him more comfortable. “We’re just here to ask you some questions.”
“I want to talk,” Peter murmurs quietly, just barely loud enough to be heard. He pulls his knees up to his chest; his eyes haven’t strayed from the corpse of the animal in front of him. You feel your chest constrict a little at the sight.
“Good,” Jack responds with a nod.
“...To you,” Peter finishes with a gesture. To your complete surprise, he doesn’t point at Jack—he’s pointing at you. Jack blinks in equal surprise, looking at you for answers. You send him a helpless look. At first, you’re not sure why you seem more trustworthy than Jack. Then you remember Jack’s position and the intimidating aura he tends to give off. You think you’d want to talk to someone like yourself too, were you in Peter’s situation.
“Alright,” you agree. You don’t see the harm in having a conversation. You need information and, more importantly, answers. Jack stares at you for a long few seconds, before exhaling in evident exasperation.
“I’ll be outside,” Jack promises, before walking away. You wait until Jack is out of sight before you take a step closer to Peter, placing your hands in your pockets.
“What do you do here, Peter?” You hear yourself ask. Your voice sounds foreign to your ears.
“I volunteer here,” Peter responds, still facing the corpse. His voice sounds hollow, empty. “Sometimes.”
“Did you… know this horse?” You ask hesitantly, looking down at the corpse.
“Yes,” Peter answers without hesitation. There’s a hint of emotion in his voice now.
“Ridden her before?”
“I don’t ride the horses,” Peter replies, “I just like to brush them.”
“Okay,” you acknowledge. You begin pacing around the stall in an attempt to calm your restless nerves. “Peter, were you here on the day that the veterinarian visited?” Jack had briefed you on the circumstances of the horse’s death, how a veterinarian had been called to investigate before the corpse was found in the womb.
“I don’t remember a veterinarian,” he stares ahead with a frown.
“That’s fine,” you answer. He may not have been there that day. “The veterinarian was the one who cut open the womb and found the corpse… Did you know this horse was pregnant?”
At that question, Peter turns around and stares at you. His hollow gaze is enough to send a shiver down your spine. For a moment, he just stares at you, before huffing in amusement. “Obviously.”
“Obviously,” you echo. You suppose that was a rather dumb question on your part. “Were you… sad about the foal?”
“Of course,” Peter huffs again. “Why do you think I’m sitting here?” This discussion isn’t getting you very far.
“Fine,” you acquiesce. You take a deep breath. “This doesn’t seem to be getting anywhere. I’m going to give you my extension, and if you ever feel like talking about what happened, you can call me, okay?” Thankfully, you know for certain that Peter isn’t the killer—the psychological profile you built on this murderer tells you that much. Jack clearly doesn’t think Peter is the killer either, and those two facts are enough for you to rule him out as a suspect. However, you’re still contemplating the possibility of him tampering with the crime scene.
Peter clears his throat pointedly and you remember what you were supposed to be doing. You grab a notepad from your jacket pocket and quickly scrawl down the Behavioral Analysis Unit’s phone number, followed by the extension to your office phone. You take a step closer and hold it out to Peter. For a fraction of a moment, you think he won’t take it. Just before you can pull your hand back, he takes the paper and slips it into his pocket.
You turn on your heel and take a step towards the door of the stall, fully intent on leaving, when the door falls open of its own accord. Jack Crawford stands in the doorway, staring at you.
“Good, Agent,” Jack remarks. This must be important. “We have a lead,” he says vaguely, his eyes falling to Peter. You can’t discuss confidential information here—the details will have to wait until you’re both in the car.
“Excellent,” you remark in relief. “I’ll meet you at the car?” You can sense that Peter’s attention is piqued. Maybe you can still get something out of him. Jack nods and walks away once more. You then turn to Peter, who has turned his body away from the horse to face you. Somehow, he’s intrigued now. Something has caught his eye. “Sorry, Peter,” you apologize, taking a step backwards and emphasizing that you’re a moment away from leaving, “I have to go.”
“What is it?” Peter asks, “Did you find him?”
“It’s classified, I’m sorry,” you respond, ignoring the inexplicable sound of alarm bells blaring in your head. Peter isn’t the killer. “But we’re tracking down this killer. I promise he’ll be put away.”
“You promise?” Peter asks, a dangerous conviction in his eyes.
“Yes,” you respond without hesitation. You don’t have the authority to make that kind of promise, but you do anyway. The sincerity in your expression must convince Peter, because he takes a slow breath and the tension seems to fade from his form. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, Peter. It was nice to meet you.” Peter says the same and you turn to leave the stable.
“Price and Zeller found soil in the corpse’s throat,” Jack recounts to you as he drives along the highway, moving at a comfortable speed. His eyes are fixed on the road, but he recalls his conversation with Price with perfect consistency. “We traced it to a burial site about thirty minutes from here.”
“Great,” you remark, relief coursing through you. To your surprise, Jack doesn’t respond. Instead, he simply nods ever so slightly and continues staring ahead. Now, it seems as if he’s avoiding something. “What is it?” You ask. Something seems off about him.
“You may want to brace yourself,” Jack warns vaguely.
“Why?” You hear yourself question. Jack doesn’t answer, and he’s quiet for the rest of the car ride. When the two of you pull up to the supposed burial site, you’re filled with trepidation. This job always comes with the knowledge that blood and gore could be waiting at every corner. That’s the normal day for an agent. So… why does Jack feel the need to warn you? You grapple with the prospect as the two of you leave the car and join the group of agents circled around something.
It isn’t until you get closer that you recognize the familiar stench of rotting death. Sure enough, the group of agents is clustered around a hole in the ground—one that houses a woman’s corpse. You stare at the marks around her neck, the dirt caked under her nails and staining her fingertips. She was on the brink of death when she was buried. She was trying to escape. You stare down at the body for another moment, searching for any more abnormalities, before taking a step back to let the other agents resume their investigation. You exchange glances with Jack.
“She’s not the only one,” Jack says. You stare at the field around you—the grassy, open expanse. It seems to stretch on for miles now. You feel your heart steadily thudding in your chest, at a rate slightly faster than normal. Your head begins to ache.
“How many of them are there?” You murmur. The question is quiet, as you practically whisper it against the wind. For a moment, you think Jack doesn’t hear it. You then realize that he has comprehended it, but is simply declining to answer. Indeed, your boss stares out at the field with a conflicted expression. “Jack?”
“Sixteen,” Jack responds, turning his attention back to you. You feel something in your stomach twist and pull.
“That can’t be right,” you remark. It sounds as if the wind is picking up. It takes you several seconds to realize the sound is being conjured by your own mind, and that the air is damp and still around you. You swallow hard and take another look around at the field, suddenly understanding why the agents are now evenly dispersed across the space. They all have shovels and each sound of metal hitting dirt is enough to send a bolt of pain down your temple and through your cheekbones. Your teeth hurt as you watch the unearthing of sixteen different victims. They’re uniformly dispersed across the field. This is no happy accident—the killer meticulously planned for their graves to be close (but not too close). The thought brings a burning feeling to your throat and you feel your knees suddenly buckle. You place a hand on the ground, feeling the familiar horrible feeling of nausea climbing past your throat until you’re vomiting on the killer’s ground. It takes you a few minutes to stop, and even longer for you to fully recover. Your eyes sting and you can’t tell if you’re going to cry or pass out. There’s an overwhelming clarity in your vision and a rhythmic pounding at your temple.
This graveyard is a gruesome display, even to someone who has spent their entire career surrounded by carnage. You’ve seen your fair share of murder victims. You’ve never seen sixteen of them lined up in two neat rows of eight, buried in a nondescript field under layers of muddy soil. Moreover, you can sense the killer’s feelings—and it makes you sick. This was not a gesture born out of respect for the victims. The murderer did not dig up these graves to give these women a final resting place; he buried them to trap them, so that even in death, they would never truly be free. Their existences would be tied to him forever. They would never be allowed to breathe again. It’s nothing short of sickening. There’s nausea stewing in your stomach again, revulsion prickling across your skin, and sweat trickling down your neck.
You can’t seem to push yourself up to your feet. You’re grounded to the damp soil, to the wrong side of the earth. What deems you worthy of living? What deemed these women worthy of dying? Your hands are twitching at your sides. A deep breath causes your chest to hitch and you nearly vomit again. You look down on your body as you claw at the grass and tear it up, shakily pulling at the dirt and plants and grass and rot and death and injustice and horrible, terrible guilt and indescribable anger and vengeance -
There’s a hand on your shoulder. You instinctually tense, your movements beginning to slow. It feels as if you’re suddenly catapulted back into your body, forced to inhabit the itchy, dirt-stained skin and the endless remorse that wants to eat you alive from the inside.
“They’re dead; there is nothing left for them here,” Jack says. It’s his strange way of comforting you. It sort of works. After a moment, he takes a step forward and extends a hand to you. You take it, allowing him to pull you up. Jack seems to be fighting against the urge to say or do something, because his eyebrows are furrowed and his lips are pulled taut in a thin line. There’s dirt all over you, yet you are still privileged with life.
You don’t remember how you get back to the Bureau. All you remember is staring blankly ahead as you’re half-led through the halls by Jack himself, his hand on your shoulder providing equal support and increased pressure. All you remember is the worry on Alana’s face as you walk past, the way she gets up from her desk and walks over to you, how she leads you towards the far restroom with a gentle hand. It ends up being the same restroom where Zeller accused you of killing Franklyn. The memory of that encounter is far fresher than you want it to be.
Alana leads you to a sink and guides your hands towards the water.
“Allow me,” she remarks, turning on the sink. She steps away for a moment and you stare at the water dripping from the faucet. Alana returns moments later with a washcloth. She pumps some soap on your hands and helps you wash them clean. Your head aches. You don’t know what to think, what to say. All you can think about is the graveyard. It haunts your vision every time you blink, forcing you to think of suffocating under piles of dirt and debris. You inhale sharply, gasping. Regaining your breath is a chore. “I’m worried about you,” Alana soon admits. You hate that her concern makes you feel appreciated. Your relationship with Alana ended years ago. You don’t want to be hers again, but this very moment reminds you of the intimacy you no longer get to see.
“You shouldn’t be,” you remark. Alana laughs under her breath. You both know that’s not how it works. Emotions don’t bend to logic.
“What did you see?” Her hand on your forearm keeps you tethered to reality. You shake your head, unable to begin describing the scene that will most certainly haunt your nightmares. The two of you are silent for the remainder of your time together under the flickering fluorescent lights, as you try to come to terms with the terrible regret, revulsion, and rage threatening to spill over your frame and inhabit your every waking moment.

endnotes: thanks for reading! i'm very excited to continue this story, mwahhahahha
here's a lil sneak peek for the next chapter: “Peter,” Clark practically coos. You hate him, more than you’ve ever hated anyone before. He is a bundle of contradictions: a fine-dressed man with a fine-dressed smile and fine-dressed lies and cruelty and violence and- “Why don’t you tell me what happened?”

I am watching Criminal Minds because I couldn't as a kid and now I completely understand why Matthew Gray Gubler was the Tumblr boyfriend of the mid 2010s.
Oh honey he absolutely knows what he's doing to us on Tumblr and he LURVES every second of it.
Libra placements can be so cheeky because they're Venus-ruled and so you can imagine them being like the cheeky cupid cherub.
And we let them get away with it every single time because we know their intentions are always timeless.
And I guess we like it because he makes us feel special, to some Stays...he might be the closest they've come to experiencing a flirtatious connection at all.

There were few places Slade hated as much as the Upper Eastern Seaboard.  New York City, Bludhaven, and Gotham—all stinking cesspits of cities, all with too many heroes to be healthy, and, most unfortunately, all thriving with crime.
Once, just once, couldn’t someone pay him to murder someone in Hawaii?  A nice, easy vacation in the middle of the Pacific, some actual fucking sunshine, air that doesn’t smell like a rotting dumpster…  But no.  Instead, Slade gets the scent of decomposed fish over brine, neon, garish lights, and the shallow, glitzy, faded glamor of Bludhaven.
Party cities are the fucking worst.
Not for his job, no, it makes his job very easy as he tracks down a Mr. Winston Cokewell to the Palais, a mid-range casino and hotel that is definitely owned by someone on the wrong side of the law, if the guards and their nonstandard guns are any indication.
Slade cases the building, noting multiple entry points but also multiple guards—Cokewell isn’t major enough a player to have his own security, and given his client’s discretion, is probably unaware that there’s a contract on his head.  But Slade has no doubt that the moment he steps into that casino, every criminal in this city is going to know that Deathstroke’s here.
People tend to get a bit twitchy when he shows up.  Can’t imagine why.
Luckily for him, there isn’t a business in this city without fingers in multiple pies, and it was easy enough to rustle up an invitation to the underground auction taking place the floor below the casino.  Slade casts a glance across the rooftops on habit, making sure there’s no costumed hero trying to sneak up on him, and descends to the alleyway behind the casino.
As predicted, the guards freeze at the sight of him.  One grabs his gun, wide-eyed, the other just looks terrified as he stalks towards the back entrance.  “I believe I’m on the guest list,” Slade said, fully suited up and mask on.  If he was in charge of security, he’d never let someone in without confirming their identity, but the two guards look relieved that they don’t have to stop him and just wave him inside.
Amateurs.  Slade reminds himself that it makes his job easier, and lets it go.
The stairs leading down would be dark to a normal human’s eyes, and the corridor he emerges in shadowed and gloomy.  There’s several people standing there—his target is nowhere to be seen, but half of Bludhaven’s underworld is milling around in tight-knit groups.
“Mr. Deathstroke!” the host exclaims, placing himself into Slade’s path, “I wasn’t—we didn’t know if you were going to make it—this truly is a wonderful surprise—we’re so very honored—”
Slade can recognize a stalling tactic when he sees one.  “What happened,” he growls flatly.
“Ah, we’re just—just slightly behind time—nothing to worry about—we’ll be underway soon—”
Slade makes a clipped, unamused sound to cut him off.  The host looks ready to disappear through the floor.  “I don’t appreciate people wasting my time,” Slade says shortly.
“Of—of course, Mr. Deathstroke—we’re really very sorry—if there’s anything we can get for you while you wait—”
“I’ll find something to amuse myself with,” Slade strides past him, ignoring his spluttering to duck down a side corridor.  Like he cares whether this auction is delayed or not.  This is a great opportunity to eliminate his target, and Slade efficiently slips out of his Deathstroke gear and into a more conventional suit, slipping on a pair of sunglasses before he heads up to the casino.
It’s laughably easy to complete his contract.
Cokewell is drunk, the casino security is clearly more focused on what’s happening below him, and it’s child’s play to crack Cokewell’s head against the bathroom counter and leave the mess behind for the next guest to find.  His contract specified a natural-looking death, with his involvement as hidden as possible.
One drunk guy slipping and hitting his head in the bathroom, done and done.  Slade retreating back downstairs, avoiding security cameras, getting back in his Deathstroke armor and creeping through now-empty corridors to reach the auction room, also done.  He’ll stick around as long as it takes to establish his alibi, and then he’s out of here.
The auction’s already begun, and Slade’s distaste for this garbage fire of a city sinks even deeper as he realizes just what they’re selling.  Or who.  Human trafficking, how very original.  Slade suppresses his groan and slinks deeper into the shadows.  If this night was interrupted by a Bat or two, he’d call it an improvement.
Though, come to think of it, it is surprising that he’s seen neither hide nor hair of the little bluebird tonight.
~#~
Everything feels…woozy.  Like he’s underwater, blinking and blinking and never able to clear his eyes.  The floor sways underneath him, rumbling with the voice of too many people, and he can’t help the stifled shriek as the red-tinged darkness is yanked away, leaving him under the harsh glare of stage lights.
“And now, my fellow compatriots, the item you’ve all been waiting for…the thorn in all our sides…our very own little Bat, Nightwing!”
No, no, no.  He’s not a Bat, not anymore, Robin, Robin and Batman, the great partnership that ended, and any hope Dick had that he could go back was dashed by the photos of the new black-haired, blue-eyed child trotting at Bruce’s side.
He’s not a Bat.  He’s a bird, and he’s been caught, and he’s staring out through cage bars at a blurry, seething audience of people yelling out crude insults.
Something in his stomach churns unpleasantly.
“Let’s start the bidding at a hundred thousand.”
Oh, fuck.
This isn’t the first time he’s been captured, or the first time he’s been drugged with something that makes him feel like a limp, overcooked noodle, or the first time he’s listened to people haggling over him like he’s a thing and not a person.
It’s the first time he’s been alone, though.
No Batgirl to give him the intel that the traffickers had cottoned onto him and had laid a trap.  No Agent A tracking his location and vitals.  No Batman speeding through the Batmobile for a rescue.  No, Dick’s alone and no one is coming.
“Do I hear five hundred thousand?  Five hundred thousand for Nightwing!”

You know, I was just thinking about the UA entrance exam.
Specifically, how terribly designed it is, but not for the reason they seem to give in the story itself.
Like, here's how it is: Aizawa is shown criticising the UA Entrance Exam once, during the Sports Festival. And the ONE criticism he makes, is that the use of Robot enemies during the exam would disproportionately affect people whose Quirk work against biological opponents, essentially.
His one criticism, is that the exam is not designed to also cater to people like him, and that's it. The way therefore it's set up, it'd be logical to assume he'd ask for a restructuring to the exam to remove the Robots and substitute them with live enemies, possibly Ectoplasm clones.
This is never brought up again, aside from maybe a stealth bring up during the mid term exams when they switch the exam from fighting robots to fighting teachers.
The exam is, and I just got to it myself while watching this video about how Copaganda paints police training and the relative risk police officers face on the job, set up in a very specific environment:
An empty town, where what is essentially a murder spree is taking place. The ONLY entities in the place, outside of fellow examinee, are robots that have been literally designed to attack everyone on sight, and that need to be destroyed to pass. The points granted from saving people are hidden, so they can be more "genuine" of course, and are, ultimately, also part of the problem.
Because here's the fucking thing.
When the fuck is that ever going to happen.
When the fuck, is a superhero, after their 5 years of Hero training in high school, then entering the work force without a need for a decree in higher education, ever going to find themselves in an environment where they can use LETHAL FORCE on civilian targets? With no restraint or care for collateral damage?
And where they are ENCOURAGED to kill as many criminals as they can, and NOT collaborate with other heroes? Because that's another thing, you need to steal points from other people to pass, by culling the number of limited robots, much like heroes are paid by the arrest and by popularity.
You do understand how fucked up that starts to sound right? The other, the enemy, is reduced as a caricature Droid from star wars, there only to kill and destroy, and against whom your only TWO methods of defeat are outright destruction or sneak attacks on their off buttons.
And here's the cherry on the shit too, because, AGAIN, when is that EVER going to be the case?
Do you know how many heroes show up in the first villain attack in BNHA?
Five.
Two are engaging a purse snatcher, three are doing crowd control, the Slime Villain, who may I remind you was guilty of robbery at a convenience store before he got the hostage, gets THE NUMBER ONE HERO, as well as those same FIVE heroes involved, of which only BACKDRAFT is actually doing anything.
Now, imagine you are a hero school, and you produce 40 heroes a year, just like every other hero school out there. How many of those heroes will see active duty, if the rate of crimes demand FIVE heroes to react to ONE criminal?
And people will say "but EDS, this mentality is later rewarded when All Might retires and it all falls to shit," Except NOT REALLY, because that's an externally forced situation caused by, and I can't stress this enough, a hundreds of yeas old NEET boomer who read too many Doctor Doom comics as a kid and decided to become a supervillain, the riots, the open air warfare, is only caused by AFO forcing the hand and inciting popular unrest, which is an unrealistic thing to expect off any society.
In one of the movies, Class 1-A is sent to open an hero agency on a small island with barely a village on it. 20 Heroes. Until the movie truly picks up, the best they do is help kittens from trees, and Bakugou, the sort of person for whom the Entrance Exam was designed, is useless, left in his tent like Achilles, the perfect cowboy cop who peeked in highschool and didn't realize just how much paperwork and dead time his dream job actually entailed.
So that's the ACTUAL Issue with the entrance exam. It take no account for any other mean to beat the robots but brute force, it takes no account for collateral damage, or the sanctity of life of your opponents, and it tests nothing but how good at ending lives you are.
Which is a problem when you're picking future heroes.

Okay no for real this whole idea of Goncharov is very funny but get your fuckin’ timeline right, okay.
Martin Scorsese had made exactly two movies by 1973, he didn’t have the cachet to make a big budget or even mid budget crime movie about the Naples mafia. Certainly not the greatest mafia movie ever made! Further, he hadn’t yet developed his filmmaking style, let alone his fascination with the criminal underworld, and The Godfather had just come out the year before, so there wasn’t even time to get used to the romantic portrayal of gangsters that Scorsese’s films would act as revisionist responses to! The conversation had barely even started yet!
And then there’s the actors: Robert De Niro was a working actor then, not a huge star — he’d been in a few movies by then, including three from noted trash sommelier Brian De Palma and one from even more noted trash auteur Roger Corman — and he actually worked with Scorsese and Keitel that same year in Mean Streets! He got some acclaim for that performance but it wasn’t like, Godfather level, y’know? Not in terms of fame or notice at least. And Pacino? Pacino’s first major role was The Godfather the previous year! That was his third film ever! He did Serpico in ‘73! He hadn’t even done Dog Day Afternoon yet! And he didn’t work with Scorsese until The Irishman, which came out in 2019!
Really, y’all, what you’re imagining, the movie you’re all spinning out of thin air here, probably came out in like, 1983, not ‘73. Probably in place of Scarface or something (which for my money would be an improvement). You’ve got De Niro post-Deer Hunter and Taxi Driver, he’s worked with Scorsese before, you’ve had two excellent Godfather films to build a mythology of the romantic gangster around for Scorsese to play with. You’ve got Pacino after shit like Serpico and Cruising, he’s in his prime. You’re still pre-Goodfellas for Scorsese, so he hasn’t gone sicko mode yet, but he’s done great movies that got noticed and he’d be able to pick up a budget and a production company to go to Naples. He’s worked with big studios, he’s got some clout. Now is the time for Goncharov!
But nooo, all this happened before you were born so it’s all vague and nebulous “before-times.” What’s the difference between 1973 and 1983? Who cares? Well I do! And now you know! History matters okay!! Learn ya history!!!
