Hi. I have decided to create a space to share my creative writing with anyone who may be interested. Maybe you like them, maybe not. But if I can do what I do and make 1 person feel something, that's good enough for me.

So, my first post. I wrote this for one of my closest friends of 13 years after she passed away, she will forever be with me, she is family. She was the most loving, most caring dog and her memory will bring me happiness every day. So this is my first post, for Lily.

You gave us love, you made us all smile,

And your memory we'll never forget,

You gave us laughter, provided so much joy,

Our Lily, so much more than just a pet,

You are family, our blood, one of our own,

In our hearts you will stay, always there,

And our memories of you will never fade,

We'll think of the good times, and we'll share,

Share the joy, how you made us feel so happy,

Loved your family, gave us all that you could,

Such a privilege to have shared life with you,

Shared your heart, my girl you were so good,

And we love you, you'll always be with us,

We'll think of you, speak of you every day,

It was an honour to spend a life with you,

You were beautiful and in our hearts you'll stay.

I had a serious allergic reaction this week causing a disconnect in relationship to my whole self. I feel a little broken but mostly defeated; although I promised myself there is light in sight.

There is no question I use my artistic expression to lower my stress levels as it is cathartic and pretty dang reliable for me to do so. This week, however, proved difficult for me to tap that resource. My eyes can’t move without making me dizzy and I can’t allow them to zero in on details as it is too much work for them. So what did I do when my hands wanted to create but my eyes couldn’t? I did some shitty art.

Now the photo above isn’t what I started with. It used to be filled with rigid unconnected squiggles and Z’s. Just something to get the marker to the paper. That’s all I wanted and I thought maybe it wouldn’t hurt me like a real piece would. But of course it ended in immediate fatigue and a headache, making me vow to attempt post heal instead of during healing. Unfortunate to me, I also had this fire to ensure this page didn’t go to waste with just a shit ton of nothing. So I let it sit for a few days while I binged The Magicians and ate shitty Thai food. And then I grabbed it and got to work tonight.

I’m not certain if this is done and that doesn’t really matter but it was helpful to finally get something out. I doubt I’ll be able to do more tomorrow since I’ll have a whole day ahead of me but at least I started. And that is really all that counts right now.

I am a recently discovered nonbinary human, grown ass adult. My pronouns are she/they. I am an exvangelical with religious trauma that I have been actively seeking to heal for the past 3 years. I am a white bodied femme who has been unlearning years of conditioning, a student of the decolonial movement which includes white savior complex shadow work. is there a place besides kindle that I could read your book?

unfortunately if you want to get it while it's free, no, but you can always buy the physical copy from Amazon.

At the moment, though, Amazon has a policy which doesn't allow the book to be free at all if it's available on any other site, so I don't have the option to share it via other sites.

Now sometime in the future, I would like to unenroll it from Amazon, and just publish it for free in other places, even say, somewhere like AO3, but it's not feasible any time soon.
