Fifteen things I noted about CR2E137 “Welcome to Cognouza” and the Talks Machina about it :

oh they are giddy this episode, from the start

I love the Astral Sea, the image of black void and stars and weird things floating, and you can voyage through it quicker if you're more intelligent

Jester, to Sheepleb, basically : "Caleb ! Just stop being a sheep !". And then there's the Caduceus way : he just hits the sheep, and it's enough to restore Caleb

Laura, very real about Jester's healing abilities : "I don't have Prayer of Healing prepared, 'cause... let's be honest..."

Side note, in any media, every time someone says "going through the motions", I have in my head the corresponding song from the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA THIS IS HORRIBLE, thank god I've watched Hannibal before and my brain is kinda adjusting to the body horror levels

Yesssss I'm so happy, I made the same connections as the cast ! I am French and I have done Latin and I have listened to Taliesin and Sam's hypothesis about the "Somnovem" name. Each eye of the Somnovem seems to be some kind of emotion or feeling, but bigger and exagerated, and the names are rooted in Latin, like the French words : l'ire, le timoré, le coupable, le fastidieux, la merveille...

If there's ever a shirt where we see Sprinkle with the words "I want to die among the stars", I would buy it SO FAST

Tonight, on Talks, Sam is answering questions from his home bicycle, while doing it... Just like he said he would before. The amazing thing is : the answers are good !

Laura reveals that sometimes Travis does the Sprinkle voice at home, and I am delighted by this fact, I don't know why.

... the Somnovem can't sense Lucien because he put on Vess Derogna's anti-scrying amulet after he split up with Cree.

He doesn't want the Somnovem to know what he's doing

He wants the M9 there because they're a big bright noisy chaotic distraction pulling the Somnovem's attention away from him

I think that Lucien is genuine in his belief that whatever he has planned will help - himself, and the poor screaming Aeorans that the Somnovem trapped with them

of course Lucien is very arrogant and sure that he knows what is best

and the Chained Oblivion is very good at twisting good intentions to its service
