PRICES OF GOODS IN GAZA SKYROCKET AS ISRAELI WAR OF GENOCIDE CONTINUES UNABATED

📈 As Israel's ongoing war of genocide in the Gaza Strip continues unabated, the consumer price index (CPI) has skyrocketed as price inflation takes hold in the Palestinian enclave as a result of the enforced blockade of goods into the Strip.

According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), the CPI in the Gaza Strip has now risen in excess of 27.25% for the month of February 2024, compared with the 8.2% for the month of January 2024.

By comparison, the occupied Al-Quds area (Jerusalem) experienced a CPI change of 0.66%, and 0.02% in the occupied West Bank.

The CPI numbers reflect changes in the prices of goods and services following the expenditures of sub groups over the previous month as follows:

Antes de tudo, não dá para explicar em uma postagem a importância e relevância do Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra-MST, tampouco acredito ter tal qualificação.

Gostaria de iniciar afirmando que o MST NÃO É TERRORISTA E NÃO QUER TOMAR O SEU IMÓVEL. É uma mentira sem nenhum respaldo com a realidade. O MST é de extrema importância para a democratização das terras, visto BUSCAR A APLICAÇÃO DA CONSTITUIÇÃO FEDERAL, em especial o art. 184, afinal terra que não cumpri as suas funções sociais devem ser desocupadas e distribuídas, é lei.

O MST é taxado como violento. Mas, SABE QUAL É O REAL PERIGO? É O AGRO.

O Agro mata, escraviza, saqueia, destrói, polui e financia golpe de estado.

Enquanto o agronegócio desmata, produz alimentos cheios de agrotóxicos e pouco se importando com mercado interno, o MST, vem na contramão, através de preservação ambiental, reflorestamento, produção orgânica e agroecológica, referência para o mundo.

A luta do campo é real e não são eles os bárbaros.

Minha necessidade de falar do movimento é consequência da instalação da CPI do MST, criada pela extrema-direita e financiada (adivinha por quem) pelo agronegócio, para disputar narrativa e reforçar mentiras.

Deixo, portanto, o meu apoio ao MST e a minha indignação contra uma CPI criada sem motivos e sem fundamento.

Aconselho aos interessados buscarem saber quais os crimes cometidos pelo presidente e o relator da CPI, além de seguir o MST nas redes sociais.

Open Season for Small Caps

A Soft CPI reading this morning and a nice pop in the Russell 2000 Small Cap Index today remind us that seasonally speaking, small caps are set up for their annual yearend rally into Q1, often referred to as the “January Effect,” where small caps outperform large caps in January.

Small caps have been struggling for two years now, hurt by non-transitory high inflation, the most aggressive rate-hiking regime we’ve seen since the 1980s, geopolitical turmoil with war on two fronts, fallout from pandemic and post-pandemic economic and labor woes. And the Russell 2000 small cap index recently hit a new multi-year low at the end of October.

As we point out on pages 112 and 114 of the Stock Trader’s Almanac, most of the “January Effect’s” small cap outperformance takes place in the last half of December when tax-loss selling abates. Our annual November stock basket published last week for members contains some brand-new, undervalued, off-Wall-Street’s-radar small cap picks.

As you can see in the accompanying chart the R2K has been tracking the pattern quite well since July and it looks like the small fry are coming out of hibernation just in time for small cap stock hunting season. Small cap stocks are facing several obstacles mentioned above, but they rallied strongly off the October 27 low with the rest of the market.

As illustrated in the chart, small caps exhibit some chop from late-October through mid-December. Our small cap stock picks have historically done well as long as you honor the buy limits and stop losses. Last pre-election year in 2019 R2K had a nice rally from October to January before it was crushed by the pandemic.
