First time I had a Covid shot was summertime at a village hall and the men mostly wore t-shirts, so the short sleeve could be held up for the needle. The next shot was in a city clinic and wintertime, and us men were long-sleeved, meaning many of the men stood in line shirtless waiting for the nurse.

Dear Gus & Magnus,

I stayed home with Magnus today so Mom could go to work. This afternoon I took Mags to get his second COVID shot, which he took like a champ. Never flinched, never complained. He just looked on with a wondrous curiosity. The two nurses laughed and said, "He looked at us like, 'Do you know who I am?!'"

They also said to let them know right away if he has any kind of reaction because he's part of the first wave of babies to get the vaccine.

While we were still in the exam room, Mom called to say someone in Gus's class had head lice, so Yiayia went and picked him up and we put him in the bath. We checked his scalp, but we were all clean. Praise be.

SIDENOTE #2: While making dinner, Gus helped me entertain Magnus. At one point he called me around the corner and when I got there, I saw that Gus had -- at some point earlier -- drawn a large bird/dragon/animal on the wall in black marker. Mom later got it off with a magic eraser.

Random thought that could have been someone’s shower thought.

Covid 19 is going to be put in history books for the next generations. Heh, I feel bad for those trying to figure out the difference between the 1st and 2nd shot and the booster.

Oh and how much they will whine about wanting to spend a year in quarantine. (Especially those introvert babies.)

I can’t wait for the day when my son or daughter is struggling on a test because of this subject, while I take a sip of some random drink like orange juice.
