Gen got Costis super drunk for this

Karaoke night from a modern AU of The Queen’s Thief that’s been noodling around in my head since I finished Thick As Thieves. It’s Kamet-centric, but Gen looms large, in typical Gen fashion. He has a few different prosthetics; for nights out he likes to dress up as a pirate with his favorite hook.

Poor Kamet just wants to go home with his adorable idiot boyfriend, who’s going to have the worst hangover tomorrow

Read chapter one of TaT aloud for a friend, can't stop thinking about it now oh my god. The way Kamet cannot extricate himself from his master's ownership stands out really strongly when you read it out loud and every sentence, even the ones that should have no connection to Nahuseresh, wind back to him and what he would do or want or say. It's awful and I want to resurrect the horrible wretch just to put him in the grave again myself

A favourite scene of mine from thick as thieves of where costis explains how he knows how to tin pans. Like... They're in the middle of somewhat terse negotiations after a gruelling walk, all he had to do was say, 'yes I can tin pots' but instead he gives kamet a nice hearty slice of his childhood and in return, kamet is all, ah beautiful , an interesting tidbit sbout MY Attolian. Costis is just. So willing to give kamet his entire backstory. I punched the king in the face. People tried to drop tiles on my head. My dad didn't want me timing pots but haha I did anyway because I'm a rebel, do you like bad boys kamet? Because if you do I have some good stories about starting bar fights and if you don't I have some better stories about being a perfect angel
