realized that anime boston is almost upon us..! i haven't done any cosplay shoots since pre-pandemic (!!!), so i would super love to just have a fun, chill time photographing some of y'all~
feel free to check out my website for more examples of my work❣️
it's also important to note that i don't have a badge, so all photoshoots will take place outside of the convention center!

Got my new wig in and wanted to test my self-shooting setup, so have some Lu Guang!
These might be some of the best pics i’ve ever taken. so naturally i wanted a picture *with my camera* which meant taking down my entire setup just to use my phone to take pics.
(psst: i take good pics of myself, but i take even better pics of other people. book me for Anime Expo: antiherophotography.com 🫶)

My name is Lisamarie, I’m a fine art photographer and specialize in fine art design portraits, weddings and also flat-lay design. I’m inspired by natural lighting, music, and oil painting of clouds and people. I want my work to speak volumes to the cosplay community for tasteful and finely crafted imagery
Whimsical, powerful, feminine, and elegant. I like to think of my images as a powerful mix of masculine and feminine energy when it comes to how I'm posing my clients, the flow of motion, and how I'm editing the images. The demand for respect while also somehow feeling gentle at the same time.
The negative space was really something I struggled with when I started showing my personal style.
At the time it was not something that was being done in the community, everyone wanted portrait-like images so when my clients let me freely try something a little different from what I was already coming out with (due to the pressure of just wanting to be accepted as a photographer in the community)
I soon noticed that it was okay to be myself, that people would accept and LOVE the work that I'm producing because it's me being my own authentic artist. On a deeper level, the negative space represents how lonely being an artist can actually be.
The overlay is actually something I wanted to add in every shoot. I felt like it gave each album its own unique feel. Since I'm shooting that all raw, there was no copying what I did image by image. It's permanent and unless I'm able to shoot the exact frame with the exact lighting again, it could never be replicated. It's like a painting of my client and I know that they all love this very unique detail and just another stunning original image from me to add to their collection.
Understanding your subject and kindness. Knowing how to position them in a manner that not only represents your brand but also allows them to feel confident. I also think imagination is very important in photography. The cosplay photographers who are able to shoot at cons and make it look like a work of art when thousands of people are running around is a talent that only this community can bring.
