So a couple months ago I read this book called Cosmopolis by Don DeLillo. I didn't enjoy it very much
It's about how rich people are awful and vapid which I don't disagree with but reading the book meant I was stuck listening to these awful vapid rich people be awful and vapid and rich for 200 pages
Also it's written in this weird stream of consciousness way and the author is allergic to dialogue tags so a lot of the book was hard to follow
It did have a few really good scenes but over all it was a slog to get through
Then I found out they made it into a movie!
The movie was directed by David Cronenberg and stars Robert Pattinson and it is wild
It's actually extremely book accurate and easier to follow because you can see who's talking
I made my roommate watch it with me and we were both dying laughing for most of it because they kept all the most unhinged parts of the book like the running joke about the main character's asymmetrical prostate (yes really)
Only downside was they cut the scene where the main character gets tazed, that was disappointing
I actually recommend the movie if you're in the mood to laugh at a rich guy ruining his own life, but the book mostly just gave me a headache
