Something I think ought to be more readily-available and encouraged is simply... taking parental classes. I wish it were more common for people to realize just how hard - and important - parenting is, and indeed, that we all could use help with taking care of young folk. It's really alarming that popular opinion is still that parental classes are only for the "fuck-up" parents, or the parents who utterly failed. It should be seen as a good thing to take parental classes - especially on your own volition. It should be seen as imperative for one to take them, it should be a free, accurate, and scheduled occurrence so that people of any background are able to attend.

improv is fucking insane sometimes because remember how early in the stream the bomb squad was on bad's property and discovered the warp plate to ramon's house. and then later bad had to use that exact fucking warp plate to get to ramon's. that's a textbook fucking chekov's gun setup and payoff and TO MY KNOWLEDGE, THIS IS UNSCRIPTED.

people on that post (that I 100% agree with) being like 'If Belgians can't be racist then what about King Leopold II?' and like I get it - King Leopold II colonized Congo from 1885 to 1908. And sure that's a valid thing to bring up but it doesn't change the fact that Belgium is still a white European country today - a country that is racist now.
Over half of black people in Belgium have experienced racism when looking for housing or employment in the last 5 years - and this is only for black people of African decent (as stated in the article)
At the very least, Larian Studios is unknowingly negligent when it comes to creating characters of color (which I doubt) but at most they are willfully ignorant of 1. how they handle characters of color and 2. the harmful stereotypes they added to their game.

To be honest I never really understood the "Eichi started the war because he liked Wataru and couldn't be normal about it" thing because like??????????????? What's the war going to do about that?????? What is Eichi getting out of antagonising Wataru and his only friends to the public and almost working himself into an early grave???? How would Eichis relationship with Wataru benefit from holding public executions for half of the eccentrics and turning them into scapegoats and actively declaring his unit as an "enemy" of theirs???? In what world would that be a successful courting ritual I mean I understand Eichi can be extra and Wataru is the definition of the word but genuinely how does that entire train of thought make sense???? Eichi is a lot of things but he's not stupid. The man has the common sense to not do All Of That just for the sake of getting closer to one individual in a way that would never ever work on anyone with some semblance of common sense. The Tomoya Sanctuary incident happened because Eichi was jealous and couldn't be normal aboout it.
And not even to mention how, if the aforementioned was the case, that would also never have worked with Wataru because the reason Wataru was so in on his role was because he knew it was serving a greater purpose. He's not the type to go along with a plan like that simply to satisfy some other guys strange ways of showing his admiration via turning the object of his affections and aforementioneds friends into social outcasts. He's not the type. And neither is Eichi.
That entire train of thought would make absolutely no sense if taken beyond the "haha funny joke" stage

So I was checking and translating LMK character's Chinese names (as any normal person does) and I noticed something interesting.
Azure's Chinese name is 青毛獅, which yeah, seems to translate as Azure Lion. Well, most translators gave me Blue Fur(red) Lion, but close enough.
The thing is... his name uses the word 青 (Romanised as Qīng). As far as I have understood, it's an old word for a colour that can be translated anywhere from blue to green, even black. Some site even described it as "the colour of the nature".
And to commit the ultimate sin and quote Wikipedia:
"It (Qīng) was used for the roof tiles and ornate interior of the Temple of Heaven and in other structures to represent heaven. It is also the color of most jade"
So (if I got this right), you could technically translate Azure's name as Jade Cloured Lion.
And since (again apparently) this is the name Azure has in JttW the book... This is either one heck of a coincidence, I'm doing a huge mistranslation from a language I don't know at all OR this is the reason why they (the creators of the show) chose to make Azure the new Jade Emperor.
(Fun side fact. There is at least one another character in Chinese literature named after colour 青. Namely 青蛇 aka Qīngshé aka Xiaoqing aka Green Snake aka the sworn-sister/handmaiden of Madame White Snake.)

I was wondering what the other boys (or Olli and Aleksi themselves) think about the whole Olli/Aleksi thing (I mean people shipping them) 🤔 as I’m sure they know about it and I was going through a tiktok account who makes edits about them and according to the owner Joel has liked s lot of them 😄
sorry for such a boring answer but tbh I don't think they think much of it 😄 as in it's not something they often acknowledge/think about 🤷♀️ if they do, they might think it's funny, and any of them liking edits and such might just be them wanting to be supportive of the fans creating harmless but well-made content :')
but of course we can also imagine a headcanon of the others teasing Olli and Aleksi about it, not really understanding that the reason they always blush is not because it's embarrassing and annoying, but because they actually do (secretly) like each other! 😭

Re: Re: Dune. If you're at all curious to understand the core premise and essence of what Dune is about and what context is missing from the movie without going though 180k words of only the first book, I suggest watching Matthew Colville Dune videos on YT. It's 3 videos, 12, 16 and 30 minutes each. But even the first one "Part One: The Planetologist" will make it plain what kind of essential direction was missing from Denis' film. There's so much depth to mine in that story and yet what we got was as superficial as it gets. Again, if you are in any way curious. I know you're not the biggest sci-fi person. But it will make the criticism of Denis' version by the book fans more clear and less like the baseless whining of some other fans of some other adapted books.
"I know you're not the biggest sci-fi person"
*my literal entire writing career that is based fully on sci-fi/genre scripts staring at this sentence like we're in The Office*

I'm not into sports so maybe I'm wrong, but shouldn't the Foxes jersey numbers be a mess? How does it go from 1 to 10 so perfectly (rip Seth)?
I've wondered about this for a long time and still don't know the answer, but that's because I pretend it was fate a coincidence and the proof that the og Foxes were the perfect team.
