The pandemic is getting out of control. I've come down with covid-19 yet again.

My whole house is sick, everyone is infected.

What is even more frustrating is that according to the government, covid-19 is no longer a problem. Which is a bunch of BS. 😑 So therefore my job won't pay me while I'm out again.

What are they expecting people to do? I just came back to work. I've been back a week and a half. I've only had time to earn for one paycheck. I haven't been paid in so long already. Now I'm going to be out again.

I'm beyond frustrated and stressed at this point. I'm immune compromised. My immune system doesn't tolerate covid-19 well. I'm out longer than what the government says you should be out for. Which I'm sure irritates my employer.

I'm chronically ill, I only go to work because disability has been giving me a hard time and I have yet to make my dream of social media provide me with any sort of income.

Despite work killing me faster, we live in a capitalist country and it's killing disabled people like me. And the United States Government is failing its people when it comes to the pandemic.

I'm really lost at what to do. And I'm having to worry about all this when I'm supposed to be getting better. I'm becoming very depressed again.

Hi friends. My COVID case I got the week of my dad’s birthday (8/13) has become Long COVID. I’m scared; as a disabled spoonie, I’m used to my body and Brian not working optimally, but not in This Specific Way, and certainly not when I’m trying to finish my last semester of college while balancing an RA job. I’m exhausted and recovering so slowly, my doctors have kept me out of class for 2 weeks and we’re still assessing whether or not I’m ready to go back (next appt early tomorrow morning.)

life update

ha so I was So Offline this past weekend-- during the week I was at least poking my head in on the Internet in the evenings using my phone as a mobile hotspot, and sometimes I had a few minutes during the day, but then on Friday at noon Dude showed up and I was just busy and then in the evenings there was family shit until late and then I didn’t want to keep him up so I think three whole days went by where I did not actually open my computer, and only looked at my phone occasionally. I also worked the farmer’s market on Saturday, which, whoo it was 91 degrees Fahrenheit, great.

Friday evening my older sister and her kids and dogs had showed up to Mom’s house, so I didn’t see them until Saturday afternoon. Dude was quiet and subdued and sat in the corner-- not far off his normal behavior, but I did ask him at one point and he said oh i haven’t been sleeping well this week i’m tired, but told me not to worry about him, so, I didn’t.

It wasn’t until Saturday night as we were walking back to the cabin that he spoke and i noticed his voice was extremely hoarse. “What the heck,” I said, “you sound like shit.”

He coughed. “I feel like shit,” he said.

I stared at him. “You took a rapid test before you got on the train, right?” I said. “If you spent all week with out of town coworkers visiting, and you were tired and run-down and--”

“No,” he said.

For some reason I didn’t make him take a rapid test right then. Possibly because there’s no power in the cabin and I was exhausted and wanted to go to sleep. But you’re already guessing the punchline. The next morning I had him take one of the pile of rapid tests I carry with me always for such a thing (half of the pile that lives in our house), and sure enough.

Immediately, it showed a positive result.

Fucking great, Dude! You coughed on my mom, and on all of my niblings! BIL had *just* Saturday afternoon been done with the 5-day post-exposure protocol after sitting next to the deputy mayor of Troy in a meeting one day before (the deputy) tested positive, so now everyone gets to mask back up...

we had to drive home with masks on, and I had to do all the driving, and he was like yeah in hindsight I get that I should’ve figured this out earlier but-- well he’d had bad tooth pain, had to go to emergency dentist, wasn’t sleeping or eating because of it, and had been consistently coughing due to allergies, and he just plain hadn’t noticed when the accounted-for malaise had shifted over to being more general.

Now he has decided to hole up in the living room of our house, not either of the bedrooms, and that room has no doors, so I have to wear a mask anywhere besides the bedrooms. This is stupid, but I wasn’t going to argue with him. I have tested negative once, and will re-test every 24h I guess-- the protocol is to test on days 3, 4, 5 of exposure and then return to normal, but as my exposure is ongoing I can’t see how that will work out.

I’m at work at the moment, mostly to get out of the house so he has a chance to putter a bit. When I get home I’m going to force him to move into the guest room. He didn’t want to do that because then “if you want to go to the back porch you’d have to walk past me!” ... Dude why don’t you just take the back porch, and I’ll be in the house. I have no need to get to the back porch. if I do I can walk there from outside.

But the guest bed currently has a bunch of my spare clothes on it, because normally I can’t get dressed in our actual bedroom because Dude sleeps later than me. So if I just haul all those clothes out then I think he can just be in there. It makes a hell of a lot more sense than forcing me to wear a mask everywhere in our house.

Of course, if I test positive when I do my second test in about 4 hours, then it will be moot, but.

I think I’m going to borrow some equipment from work so I can work from home a little bit this week, and not come in, because this is fucking stupid.

What’s up guys, I just wanted to let you know that my posts may be either slowing down or speeding up. I’m not sure yet. Today we did one of those 15 minute Covid tests and it turns out I got the corona 💀. So since I’m sick posts may slow down, or since I won’t be going to school they might speed up. An Update

I didn't want everyone to think I have abandoned the blog because I haven't. The past few weeks have been busy to say the least.

I took a little break due to some changes that have happened in my life recently. I have been keeping up with fundie news and was ready to come back a couple of weeks ago. Then...

...mum ended up having to have surgery due to complications from her emergency c-sections 20+ years ago. She took herself to A&E with stomach pain but it turned out to be more serious than we all initially thought. She had surgery and was ready to come home, bar a few blood pressure issues, but then Covid came to visit. She is still in hospital but hopefully out of the woods now. She was in the right place at the right time but everyone in her ward room caught it as well.

My close long distance friend, calls me Panda 🐼, this completely looks like me in a GIF haha 😄!

This is my energy right now. I'm still stuck in bed with covid-19, being immune compromised, my body is having a rough time fighting off this virus.

My chronic migraines are really bad today. I'm laying in the dark with ice on my head 🫠.

I laid down today expecting to take a thirty minute nap. When I wound up sleeping 💤 for 4 hours 🙃!

Today is not my best day. But I'm going to make the best out of it.

I have my friend texting me, keeping me company. I have my kitty 😺 who has been very cuddly today. ☺️ However her screams are a bit much for my migraine today 😅. I don't know why she likes to scream bloody murder as she talks to you... I have a weird cat. She's very loud!

I have my electric heated blanket, I'm comfortable in bed. I have social media to keep me entertained. My friend may go on Tiktok live later tonight, so I'll be able to watch and talk to him there.

I have yummy soup, all I have to do is heat it up when I'm ready to eat.

My parents are being very kind and are coming in to regularly check on me. 🥰

It may be another uncomfortable day. But I'm not mad about it. My body is taking the time it needs to get over this virus 🦠. And I hope soon I will be back at work.

I hope to do more of these daily GIF life updates.

Hi again, I'm the anon who sent the ask about masking and my parents. I just wanted to say thank you so much for your response. I think they will continue to let me mask in public thankfully, and I'm going to distance myself from them around the house as much as possible. Aside from covid risks, I'll be safe (they wouldn't do anything to me aside from regular 'no phone' type of punishments.) Also thankfully I'm close to being able to move out. Thank you again, I really am very grateful for your advice, and your words mean so much to me /g

Hey im the last anon I just wanted to say I really appreciate your advice! Unfortunately the people I live with are my family, including my parents. My parents get pretty angry when i try to wear a mask at home, and i have to get their permission before they'll give me one. I tried asking for a mask today to wear in shared spaces and they said no. Also they have a rule that i can't eat in my room but i haven't pushed them about that yet so idk how it will go. My parents do wear masks in public and are vaccinated afaik, so if i have to be out of my room it would be safest to avoid the unvaxxed/antimask person the most. Idk if there's really much else i can do/ any other advice you might have? Sorry again to dump this on you and i don't expect an answer or anything /g Also hope you have an amazing day and tysm again!

sorry, same parents + mask anon as before, I just wanted to clarify that like my parents wouldn't punish me per say for wearing a mask they just aren't going to let me have access to any unless I'm going out in public. They keep them under lock and key and I'm not allowed to go to the store alone (i'm old enough to go alone they just don't allow it) so I can only have one to wear if I get their permission. Also sorry if this is weird of me to send /g

i’m really glad you’ll be able to move out soon!! that’s majorly bullshit & i definitely maintain what i said previously about it being a denial of your autonomy etc, but i’m really glad you’re hanging in there & i hope you stay safe for the duration until you have more control over your circumstances!

idk if i have any other ideas/advice but folks feel free to chime in if you think of something + i’ll reply to this if something occurs to me!
