Let me tell you a bit about my wonderful, wonderful JiB 11 experiences.
It finally happened! I've met Jared Padalecki!
First thing Saturday morning I went to his auto. I had bought a moose notebook back in 2019 when I got the JiB tickets, and have been waiting to give it to him ever since. He looked at it, then visibly did a double take and started to laugh. I told him "Back when I got the notebook you had this huge hiatus beard!" He smiled, stroked with his knuckles over his own beard and said "I'll get there again!".
Tumblr media
Next up was my Jared photo. While I was standing in line for the OP, he made eye contact two times, very briefly, and I almost died on the spot. Lol. I am an aro/ace woman in my fourties, but this man is killing me!
We took the picture, I said thank you and turned away. While I was turning away, his hand stayed on my back, and he rubbed me twice in circles. I don't remember much from this op, but I do remember the feeling of him stroking by back in circles. I also remember the feeling of his chin on top of my head. And how cold that stupid (sorry) Gucci jacket was against my face.
Tumblr media
I'm not putting an uncensored picture on here, but believe me, I couldn't smile any more if I tried. I have a look on my face that is completely over the moon, but who can blame me?
With Jensen, I asked him to be hugged from behind, and I really love this photo too. I just wish I had left my jacket on. My bare arms don't look so good on here. But that's just me being self critical. So what the heck, I'm gonna share it with you anyways.
Tumblr media
@takikojou and me planned on standing in line for a question at the first panel sunday morning. (A Jared solo panel.) I knew what question I wanted to ask, but I planned on writing it down. Just to be sure I'd get it right.
But while we were sitting in the Saturday evening Jared solo panel, close to the right hand side microphone for questions, the queue on that side was getting shorter and shorter, and suddenly there was no one standing in line at all. On the other side there were still plenty of people queing, and there was also quite some time left on the panel. So I just got up and went up to the micro without thinking. While I was standing there, my heart beat like crazy. I have no idea what was being said during the question Jared was currently answering. I just tried to get the question right in my head. When it was my turn, I asked him:
"At the last JiB I asked Jensen a question for both of you -"
Jared: "I wasn't there last JiB."
Me: "I know."
(That sounded rather rude-ish, but I swear I didn't mean it that way. I was just so incredibly nervouse.)
Me: "I asked Jensen to answer for both of you and he did, but he also said you would probably have this long insidefull answer. So now I'm asking you. What aspect of Sam's and Dean's personality was hardest to act?" And then, because I was kind of besides myself, I felt the need to clarify "Sam, in your case."
Jared said that a lot of Sam came pretty natural to him, and he gives credit for that to the writers who got to know who he is and wrote Sam that way. As an example he mentions Sam's "empathetic puppy dog eyes" written in scripts. He then says that the hardest part to act was Sam's kind of comedy. Because for him Sam's kind of comedy was hard to find. And that maybe that was correct, because Sam didn't think of himself as a funny person. Whereas Cordell Walker's kind of comedy is basically Jared's kind of comedy.
He concluded: "That's my answer. I hope it lived up to Jensen's expectations." Lol.
That's when I messed up completely in my nervousnes. Because I repeated Jensen's answer the wrong way around. Jensen had said for Jared it would be "having a shorter older brother". But I said to Jared:
"Jensen said it would be having a taller older brother."
But Jared, being the intelligent man he is, and knowing Jensen the way he does, immediately made sense of it.
"I guess for me it would be having a shorter older brother. Because my brother is taller than I am. So."
And with that he basically repeated Jensen's answer for him from JiB 12. Lol.
Here's the video, if you're interested. My question starts at around 19:10.
youtube
As I've just rewatched the video, I've realised that he was looking at me a lot. Unfortunately, I couldn't really see from my position at the microphone. In a panel on the next day Jared mentions that everybody on that microphone is squinting and shielding their eyes. There was this bright light shining right in peoples eyes over there. They dialed it down a bit after Jared mentioning it on Sunday, but Saturday, I could hardly make him out on stage.
On Sunday came my long awaited J2 OP. I asked them if they could look like Sam and Dean as opposed to Jared and Jensen. They both said sure and we did the OP. When I left I said thank you. Jensen answered in the most Texas drawl "You're welcome!". I loved the way he said it.
I also love the OP! I tried to smile a bit less, to make it more of a Winchester pic. I failed horribly at that. But again, who can blame me?
Tumblr media
On my other post someone commented it looks like Sam and Dean are confused that there is someone in between their hug. And that is so true, lol. "Sorry, boy's, I'll get out of your way, now."
When I went to the Jensen auto with my friend, we were waiting in line inside the auto room, even though Jensen was not there yet. But Jared was. He was sitting at the table, giving auto's. I was standing at a point in line that was basically closest to Jared for about 20 to 30 minutes, without my line moving. So I had plenty of time watching Jared from about 3 meters away. And I was blown away by his kindness, his gentle and funny nature. What everyone says about him is absolutely true. He really makes these short interactions for everyone special. And his full attention is at the person in front of him. Always. It's one thing to experience that in person for one short interaction. It's another to witness that with dozen's of people. It's not just one friendly hello after the other. (Which, honestly, would be enough to ask for.) It's that his facial expression changes with every person. With some he laughs, with some he's serious. He's listening intently if someone talks to him. I could't here what was being said (and wouldn't have wanted to eavesdrop anyway), and couldn't see what he signed. But I saw his face. I saw he reacted to that. And it never seemed forced. He just is that kind of person. Genuine. Empathetic. I only saw one thing given to him. And I had to laugh. Someone brought him Haribo gummy bears. He was so FAST taking that and slipping it into the bag for presents he had behind the table. It was a blink and you'll miss it moment. Lol. I guess that's also genuinely him. He loves his sweets.
Then Jensen arrived and I had my autograph. He was really, really nice and attentive too. Jensen also always makes sure to look up at the end of each auto and look people in the eye.
I had so many great interactions throughout the convention, and everything I had hoped for had come true already. There were just a few panels left I wanted to watch.
So @takikojou and I went into the panel room for the Jared and Misha panel. And she points out that there is no-one at the microphone on the left hand side yet. She asked me to stand in line with her. So I did. I quickly came up with a question for both of them. I didn't want to ask a Jared only question at a Mishalecki panel. I thought that would be rude.
So I wanted to ask where in Germany besides Berlin they had been. I thought this would be a short question with short answers, nothing special. But then Jared Padalecki basically had a whole conversation with me, and it turned into the most amazing moment of the whole JiB convention!
I'll leave the link here. It starts at 7:20
youtube
You may have seen videos where people stand in the hallway at the end of JiB con, and the actors come out to walk through the people, giving high fives and stuff. There's a small area where people can stand, behind barrier tapes. When my friends and me came out of the panel room, that area was already crowded. So we just left the convention area through a hallway in which no-one was allowed to stand. But at the end of the hallway people gathered again. My friends and I got a really good place there, right at the end of the hallway, where the room opens again. Security quickly put up more barrier tapes. So basically, it was a espallier (? that what you call it? ) of people, then a hallway, and then another espallier of people, forming one long line.
People in the first area where shouting for Jensen to come out, and he did. But he didn't see us down at the second area at the end of the hallway, so the turned around and went back into the green room again. Same with Jared after that. They just didn't see us. I know because I was the first person at the end of the hallway and had a perfect view all the way up. They didn't even look in our direction. And they couldn't hear us over the loud crowd in area one.
Then came Rob, and he saw us. When he realised there were so many more people down there, he just started a sprint and came to us. The security guard accompaniying him was completely taken by surprise and had trouble keeping up, lol. Rob went through our row, and so did every other actor after that.
Matt Cohen was last. He went through our row, and when he came back, while passing me, I asked him:
"Matt, can you ask Jared and Jensen to come down here as well?"
He said he would. And he did.
A few minutes later all the actors came out together, and they all came into our second area.
I thought that was a pretty great grand finale. But then my friend surprised me with a can of FBBC beer she had brought from Austin to share with me. And that was just the crown on top of an overwhelming, amazing, wonderful weekend. I had the time of my life! And I am so grateful I got to share it all with @takikojou and M. It would not have been half as wonderful without you two!

------
Sadie froze when the shot went off. She waited with bated breath for someone to move, to see who was hurt.
Her worst fears were confirmed when the intruder crawled out from under Stella and blood started pooling on the floor.
“You said the house would be empty.” Sadie’s eyes shot to the intruder, who lifted his mask. Witt. “That was the deal; the house was supposed to be empty.”
“It was,” she defended. “It was empty for hours! I thought you would’ve been gone by now.”
Witt rolled his eyes. “I wasn’t here, got it?”
She nodded and stumbled when he shoulder-checked her on his way out. As soon as he was gone, she found a towel on the table and tried to stem the bleeding from Stella’s side. “You’re gonna be okay,” she said. “It’s gonna be fine. Just fine….”
This wasn’t supposed to happen. No one was supposed to get hurt. What the fuck was she supposed to do now? How was she supposed to explain this?
Sadie dialed 911 and prayed to a God she stopped believing in for a small miracle.
—----------
Cordell sat on the bench outside the Side Step, still trying to process the fact that the Jackal- or god forbid a copycat- was back on the prowl. He still remembered all the details of the case as if it had been closed yesterday. Except, it never closed, not really.
He was just happy to have Geri by his side. She always had a way of grounding him in situations like this.
Her phone ringing jarred him out of his thoughts and he missed her warmth when she got up to grab her phone out of her purse.
“Hey, Sadie,” she said, coming back to rest a hand on his shoulder. “Are you and Stella on your way here? I thought you’d-”
He looked up when she cut off, just in time to see her reaction to whatever Sadie was saying. Whatever it was, it couldn’t be good. “I- What? Sadie, what hap- Okay, okay, just calm down. Which hospital did you say you were at? St. David’s? Yeah, okay, we’ll be there.” She covered the speaker with her hand and turned to him. “Go get August. I don’t know what happened but Stella got shot and she’s in surgery right now. We need to go.”
Cordell had a million questions to ask and not enough oxygen to do it. He just nodded mutely and went inside to get his son. “Your sister’s in the hospital; we need to go.”
August, who had been slumping over the bar, quickly sat up. “Stella- Dad, what happened?”
“I don’t know, but I’m going to find out. Sadie’s waiting for us at the hospital.”
Geri offered to drive and Cordell didn’t feel like arguing. He needed to call Liam anyway.
—-----------
As soon as they made it to the hospital, Cordell made a beeline for the reception desk. “Excuse me, do you have any updates on Stella Walker?”
“What is your relation to the patient?”
“She’s my daughter.”
The nurse glanced up at him, then nodded. “I’ll let her doctor know you’re here. Right now, she’s still in surgery. As soon as there’s an update, you’ll know. Please have a seat, sir.”
He nodded stiffly and turned to walk back to his family.
“Hey, Cordi.” Liam hugged him as soon as he came over. “What’s going on? Is Stella okay?”
Cordell hugged back. “She’s in surgery. We won’t know for sure for a while. But I’m sure she’ll be fine,” he said, looking between him and August. “This is a good hospital; they know what they’re doing.”
Liam nodded and squeezed him before pulling back. Cordell patted his shoulder and looked around for Geri. She’d just been there a second ago. Where-
He swallowed hard when he saw her. She was approaching Sadie. Cordell could see the blood on her hands- Stella’s blood- and the blank look in her eyes. He knew that look; Lord knew he’d seen it in the mirror more than a few times. He started walking toward them, gesturing for Liam and August to follow.
“Sadie, are you okay?” Geri knelt in front of her and took hold of her hands. “What happened?”
Sadie looked up at Geri and swallowed hard. “I- Well, we stopped at the house to get changed for the afterparty. Just to change our shoes, set down our purses, charge our phones…. But when we got there, the place was a mess. And then…. Then we heard someone…” She closed her eyes and covered her mouth. “This- this guy just came charging at us. We were both freaked out but Stella just- She just tackled him! I tried to stop her but-”
“It’s okay,” Geri said gently. “It’s not your fault. Did anything else happen?”
Sadie shook her head. “No. The guy ran off after…. and then I called 911….”
Cordell set his jaw. He couldn’t handle this. This was supposed to be a good day. His best friend was getting married, he asked Geri to be his girlfriend again, Stella was moving forward with her life, he was ready to accept Sadie into their family, everything was fine. They’d had so many bumps on the road on the way here, they deserved one good day. But no. August wanted to go into the military, the Jackal was back and now this.
He couldn’t handle it.
One step at a time. What's the first priority, Ranger?
“I’m going to call Cassie and Trey,” he said, pulling out his phone as he shifted into Ranger Mode. “They’ll go look at the house and update us on the situation there. And we can just wait here until Stella’s out.”
Liam nodded. “I’ll call Mom and Dad.”
He sighed. “No, Liam. They’re about to get on their flight if they haven't already and they won’t even see it for the next 16 hours. Or they will see it and then they’ll cancel their honeymoon again. Just- Just wait here for any news while I call my team.” He pat Liam’s shoulder again and briskly walked out of the entrance to the hospital to make the call.
One step at a time.
—-------------------
They didn’t get any updates on Stella until almost two hours later. Thankfully, it was good news. Mostly, anyway. “She was very lucky,” the doctor said. “Nothing vital was it. She’s stable now and she’ll likely be awake before tomorrow morning. We’ll keep her here for a bit to heal and make sure nothing gets infected but if all goes well, she’ll be home within 14 days.”
Cordell nodded stiffly, slowly coming out of his compartmentalized Ranger mentality. “Can she have visitors?”
“You can see her if you want, but she won’t be awake for some time. I’d recommend you all get some rest and come check on her in the morning.”
“We’re still waiting for some people,” Liam said, answering so Cordell didn’t have to. There was no way he was leaving his little girl here alone overnight. “But thank you.”
Geri rubbed his back after the doctor left. “She’s gonna be okay,” she murmured. “I think I need to get Sadie back home though. She needs rest-”
“I’m not sure that’s a good idea,” Cordell said. “We should wait until we hear from Cassie and Trey. You may not even be able to go home right now. I mean, your house is kind of a crime scene right now.”
Geri frowned. “But- Where are we supposed to go?”
Before he could offer the ranch, his phone rang. He held up his hand and checked his screen to see the Caller ID. Cassie. “Hey, Perez,” he said, answering the phone. “I’m putting you on speaker. Are you at the house? What’s the situation.”
“Not good, Walker. It’s a literal crime scene over here. They got up the yellow tape and everything.”
“Are you serious?” Geri asked incredulously. “It- It can’t be that bad…”
“I’m afraid it is,” Trey cut in. “Aside from the attempted murder, the whole place has been ransacked. Half of your kitchen cabinets are on the floor, the closets have been cleaned out, furniture is turned over, the works. Whatever the intruder was up to in here, they weren’t trying to hide it.”
Geri seemed shocked into silence so Cordell took over. “Okay. We’ll find a place for everyone to stay while the house is handled. Can you get me the names of the officers on the scene so I can follow up with them later?”
“Sure thing,” Cassie said. “Anything else you need?”
“Nothing I can’t get from the office on Monday. You guys go on home and get some rest; I have a feeling we’re going to need it.”
He hung up and turned his attention back to Geri, pulling her into a quick hug. “You and Sadie can stay at the ranch while we figure all this out,” he murmured. “And I’ll talk to some of the guys I know over in evidence handling about getting your personal stuff out of lockup as soon as possible. August can drive you guys there.” He handed the keys to the truck to his son. “I’ll- I’m gonna stay here for a bit, see if there’s anything new on Stella.”
“I’ll stay with you,” Liam offered.
Cordell shook his head. “No, you should go home and help them get settled in. I’ll let you know when I hear anything.”
“But-”
“Just go.” He squeezed Liam’s shoulder and walked back toward Stella’s room.
He couldn’t explain why, he just knew he needed to be alone with his daughter right now.
—--------
Liam followed August on the drive back to the ranch. He hopped out as soon as he parked and herded everyone inside. “August, why don’t you head to bed? I’ll get Geri and Saide sorted,” he said, taking the keys and pushing his nephew up the stairs. He looked like he wanted to protest but didn’t end up saying anything. Poor kid really needed to rest. The last few hours had been intense for all of them.
He guided Geri to Cordell’s room and took Sadie to the empty toom August had left to move into Stella’s old room. “I think Stella left some things here you can use until we get your things,” he said, opening one of the dresser drawers.
“Uh huh, sure….”
Liam turned around, some spare clothes in hand, to see Sadie sitting on the bed. He tried to ignore the dried blood on her hands. “Here. The bathroom’s just down the hall; you can take a shower and get ready for bed and we’ll figure things out in the morning. Okay?”
Sadie took the clothes but didn’t get up. “Hey, you’re a lawyer right?” she asked. “I mean, I know you do the horse rescue stuff and you got fired from the DA’s office but you didn’t get disbarred or anything right? You can still like… give legal advice and represent people in court?”
Liam didn’t like where this conversation was going but he didn’t think he could stop it. “Yes, that’s true. I actually use my law experience to help people in the agriculture community now. Why are you asking?”
Sadie bit her lip. “Okay so…. There might be a teensy-tiny itsy-bitsy chance that I know why that guy was in Geri’s house….. And I may know why they knew the house would be empty at that time. And-”
“Sadie.” Liam stopped her before she could dig a bigger hole for herself. “Are you telling me you’re connected to what happened tonight? Do you understand the implications of that?”
“...Yes, but I also understand attorney-client privilege so you can’t tell anyone else about this!”
“That- That’s not-” Liam sighed. “For that to work, I would have to accept you as my client. Which I haven’t yet.”
She shrugged. “Well, maybe, but also if you don’t accept me as your client, Geri will be really mad at you. And probably other people too.”
Liam pinched the bridge of his nose. “Okay, look- Before we go any further, how deep are you in this? Is there any serious evidence of your connection to…whatever this is?”
She bit her lip. “Well…. There’s text messages. They probably have videos of me agreeing to stuff too. But I’m not, like, in the inner circle or anything! I don’t even know those guys. I’ve only met a few people and I know they’re not that high up in it. And I haven’t even been involved with them for very long, just a few months….”
Okay, that wasn’t too bad. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t terrible. If Sadie’s involvement in whatever this was has to come to light in court, they could probably swing it as coercion and get her off or at least a light sentence, depending on how deep it went.
Liam sighed. “Okay, okay, I’ll- I’ll do what I can. But we’re going to need to talk about this more tomorrow. And do not say a word about this to anyone else until we know more about what we’re doing.” If he knew his brother, Cordell was going to be less than sympathetic to Sadie’s situation given everything with Stella.
Sadie nodded. “Yeah, definitely. I think even Geri’s gonna be done with me if I just tell her now.” She smiled like it was a joke, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “Thanks,” she muttered before finally leaving the room to clean up.
Liam sighed and pulled out his phone as he left the room to let Cordell know everyone was settled.
—-----
When Stella woke up, she wasn’t sure where she was. She just knew it was dark and there was this really annoying beep. She tried to sit up but a shooting pain in her gut kept her down and she groaned.
“Stella?” A lamp near her bed flicked on and she saw her dad’s face. “Hey, babygirl… How are you feeling?”
Stella blinked and tried to get her thoughts in order. “I- I feel okay. Where….?”
“You’re in the hospital. You got out of surgery a few hours ago,” Cordell said gently. “You sure gave us all a scare.”
The hospital? Surgery? What-
Oh. That’s right. She’d been shot. That guy had shot her. “Is Sadie okay?”
Dad nodded. “Yes, she’s fine. She’s at the ranch with Geri and August and your uncle. Are you sure you’re feeling okay? I can call the nurse if you-”
“Dad, I’m fine,” she said. “I mean, it hurts a little but I’m okay.” She was just glad Sadie hadn’t gotten hurt.
“Let me see?” he asked softly, reaching for her. She looked down to see a bump in her hospital gown, likely where the bandage was, and nodded. He carefully lifted the thin fabric and peeled back the bandage. She had to look away- never could stand seeing the sight of her own blood- until he put it back.
“It looks okay,” he murmured before sitting down in a nearby chair. “Can you tell me what happened? We already heard about it from Sadie but I want to know what you remember.”
Stella thought for a few moments, straining to remember. “I remember…. We got to Geri’s house to change into something more comfortable. We didn’t see anyone else there until we got into the house. I remember the place was a mess and we heard someone messing around. I- It was stupid but I didn’t think to run or anything. I just- I grabbed a lamp off the table and used it. I remember fighting. I remember-” she swallowed hard “-I remember getting shot….” She shook her head. “I don’t know. It gets all blurry at that point. It hurt so much.”
He nodded. “Yeah. getting shot hurts a lot,” he murmured. “Speaking of which- We need to talk about what you did tonight.”
She frowned. “That doesn’t sound like the beginning of a congratulatory speech.”
“It isn’t.” He looked at her, stern face reminding her of many a time-out. “What you did- You can’t do things like that. You see a guy with a gun, you don’t hit them with a lamp or jump on them. If you come home at night and you don’t have a weapon on you and you hear someone messing around in the house, you leave and call me or 911. Bringing fists to a gunfight is stupid. What you did was incredibly dangerous.”
“I- I was just doing what I thought was right. I mean, isn’t that what you would’ve done, Mr. Big Brave Texas Ranger?”
“Stella, there’s a difference between bravery and recklessness,” he said firmly. “My job requires bravery too, and maybe I’m a little reckless at times, but even when I’m not being my smartest I don’t go in completely unprepared.”
“You jump on guys with guns all the time!” she snapped.
“Yeah! And when I do, I’m wearing a Kevlar vest, not a sundress!” He sighed and sat back in the uncomfortable plastic chair. “I- Look, I know how adrenaline affects a person. But you can’t just do things like that. That bullet was a hair away from hitting some vital organs; you’re lucky you made it to the hospital alive.” His voice cracked on the last word and he took a deep breath to keep the tears at bay. “Stella, I need you to promise me that this isn’t going to happen again. I-I can’t get a call like this again, butterbean. I can’t.”
The pain in his voice hurt her almost as much as her new bullet wound. “I’m sorry,” she said quietly. “I just- I wasn’t thinking. I’m sorry.”
“If I had a nickel for every time I said that,” he muttered. She couldn’t help but chuckle, which ended in a groan as the pain hit her again.
“You okay? Do you need- I can get the nurse for more pain medication. It’s probably about time for your next dose anyway….”
Stella nodded and watched him get up to leave. Then, something hit her, a memory.
“Wait, I think I remember something else.”
Her dad stopped in the doorway and turned back. “Really? What is it?”
Stella rubbed her forehead. “I don’t- It’s fuzzy but…. I swear I heard Sadie talking to the guy that broke in before I blacked out….”
Cordell set his jaw and nodded. “Right. Well, we’ll be talking to Sadie about what happened. Don’t worry about it, okay? Just get some rest, butterbean.” He smiled tightly and left the room to go find a nurse.

Cordi x Micki - Unexpected Reunion
| ・゜゜・. we all love a little POV of characters returning, so here is my little blissful moment of writing one of my favorite duos on the show Walker. Not my best written work, just some dribble Drabble
Tumblr media
| pairings; cordi x micki
-ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈
It was a normal Wednesday for the Texas ranger. Waking up and starting his daily routine.
Shower, dressed, bed made, and children fed.
“I’ll be working late tonight but call me if either of you need me.” kissing the top of Auggie and Stella’s head. Slipping on his hat and hopping into the truck as he drove out of the driveway. Upon arriving at the station, he didn’t think anything out of the ordinary. Walking inside the doors he made it over to his desk.
Few hours of rolling, it was now nightfall.
“Hey, a couple of us guys are going out to grab a drink, you want to tag along Walker?”
“Uh-no, I got a ton of paperwork to do, you guys go ahead. I’ll catch up later,” he said, never looking up from the screen.
“Right, don’t stay glued to that screen all night Walker, you deserve a break too.”
Cordell didn’t respond, only focusing on the computer screen. He was now alone in the station, it was quiet. He could hear the door opening and then closing as he let out a brief sigh. “Guys, seriously I’m fine.” He said again looking up only to his surprise it wasn’t the guys but Micki.
Standing to his feet quickly but in what felt like slow motion, Micki had a small smile on her lips as she waved. “Walker, you look like you’ve seen a ghost.” She teased, Cordell finally catching the breath he was holding as he walked around the desk. He wasn’t sure if he was seeing things or if she was there. Almost hesitate to even hug her.
“M-Micki...” he mumbled out before finally lunging forward to wrap his arms around her. Closing his eyes he couldn’t shake the feeling this wasn’t real; she wasn’t back.
“Walker, don’t tell me you got all soft on me after all this time.” She pulled away, gripping his shoulders as she poked at him.
“What are you doing here? I mean great you’re here but.”
“No, I know what you mean, I have honestly been asking myself that same question.” Looking down as she sniffled a bit, it was hard for her to be here after leaving years prior. “ I meant to call to check in, but Walker. Cordell, I’m engaged, and I had a baby, things happened that I’d never think would.”
“No, no listen to me, I’m happy for you, proud of you, okay? It’s not your fault, I could’ve reached out to you too, just been crazy around here, with the kids, and losing the ranch, it’s a lot to process but I’m glad you are here. Remember you are family Mik, always will be.” he pressed his own hands against both sides of her shoulders, squeezing them in reassurance.
She would smile fighting back the tears that threatened to surface. Sniffling again, she opted to smile nervously instead. Nodding her head.
“Mik, I’m stoked you are here, but why are you here?”
“Cordi, I’m here because I need my best man woman, to walk me down the aisle, I need you.”
His eyes were wide for a moment, scratching the scruff on his face. “I- I mean are you sure? I uh- never turn down a good wedding.”
Punching his arm, she nodded. “Wouldn’t want it any other way, Beau.”
“Then count me in Flor.”

I hope it's ok to send you stuff on your Birthday Weekend, if not I apologize! :( How do you feel about: When Cordell Walker lost his Wife, he felt so lost in sorrow, the only thing he could think of to fix it was to accept the Undercover Assignment he was offered, failing to even think of how his three children: August, Stella, and his Eldest Daughter, his 18 YO Y/N, would be affected by his leaving them when they need him so. 5 and a half Months into his Assignment however, he, or rather...
Duke Culpepper, Cap and All, finds himself straying from his Assignment, returning to the House he called Home, now empty save for Sweet Memories turned Bitter by recent events. As he Wanders the Walker Home, he finds himself absentmindedly walking to his and Emily's Bedroom, Instinctually drawn there by Memories both Innocent and Sinful. Finding the Door a bit ajar, he slowly and gently opens it, half-hoping to find his Wife asleep in bed, the past months a bad dream, only to freeze...
For the Bed he and his Wife once shared is indeed not empty, there, lying atop the Blanket, was his Beloved Y/N, Cradling his Pillow to her Body in a Tight Hug, Wearing her School Uniform, which indicated she must have come here after school. Cordell's heart melted at the sweet yet sad sight, of his Lil Girl, having missed her parents so much she'd come home and cried herself to sleep in her parent's bed. Fatherly Instinct draws him toward the Bed, to comfort and care for his Lil Cow Girl...
Awwww, how sweet! Go on.....

I loved you and you did nothing - Cordell Walker x reader
Tumblr media
Warnings; mentions of Sexual Assault, messy plot lines, yelling (well, descriptions of it)
"Why the fuck do I have to remind you that I run this shit?" Cordell shouts at me.
I turn around and hear Micki stop walking a few steps ahead of me, I see her appear at my side as she gives Cordell the same look I'm wearing.
"I wasn't aware you started 'running this shit'? When did this happen, Walker?" I ask getting in his face.
Micki stands back and watches me get into our partners face. Cordell has always treated me like it's his duty to care for me and I've hated it. I'm the same age as Micki, only a few years younger than he is. With the exception that I've known Cordell my whole life so maybe that's where his attitude comes from.
"It started when you joined my team!" Cordell shouts in my face.
"No it started when I was born! You're an asshole who can't handle anything not being in your control! Micki and I can handle this case, go back home to your daughter who I practically raised with Emily when you weren't around cause work was your priority over your own damn family!" I say starting off  surprisingly calm and I end up yelling the last few words in his face and he steps back, shocked that I went there.
"Emily always liked you more than she liked me, no wonder why," Cordell says. "I'm starting to see how you take every person I'm close to away from me."
"It's not my fault they find me more likeable!" I say as I back away to Micki who has her hand out to touch my back when I reach her.
"You're ridiculous! I can't believe it, why would you even try to take over?" Cordell asks as he starts pacing.
I look at Micki in shock that he's still going on about how us two women have taken over a case that could get Cordell thrown into jail for one wrong move. It's a sensitive case surrounding the sexual assault of a young teen and a male ranger is the last thing she wants.
"Because we're trying to protect you from ruining your life on this case!" I exclaim, my voice wavering with emotion.
"Protect me? Why? I can handle this shit!" Cordell shouts again.
"Not this shit, I don't wanna see you get thrown into jail for saying the wrong thing like you happen to do some times," I say at a normal register and try to make eye contact with Cordell as Micki starts to grab both of my shoulders.
"Why do you care?!" Cordell stops pacing and shouts at me, pointing a finger in my face.
I take a deep breath and look him in the eyes, "because I love you, you idiot!"
Cordell's face changes instantly and Micki pulls me in to give me a hug as Cordell processes what I just told him.
"Since when?" Cordell asks me.
"Since I graduated high school, you were 24," I say, my voice muffled by Micki's shoulder.
"Oh," Cordell says.
"Oh? That's all?" I ask as I back away from Micki. "I know I never fucking told you but I assumed it was kind of obvious Walker, I was head over heels for you for years, you were the perfect guy, you understood my life style, you grew up on a ranch, you were caring, kind, you were selfless for fucks sake and I wanted that for so long."
Cordell starts to tear up as he realises how much he's hurt me over the years by being so oblivious.
"I tried telling you, fuck I did tell you straight up multiple times but you brushed it off as platonic love, sibling love or whatever you called it to excuse the fact that you felt the same way after you met Emily," I explain, Micki letting this all unravel. "I was heartbroken when you married Emily but god knows I knew how much you two loved each other, so I moved on but once she died it all came flooding back, I had learnt to love her with the love I used to have for you, I learnt to love the kids with that love but now she's gone it's back."
Cordell tries to touch me but Micki stops him.
"I don't want you to get involved in this case because it happened to me Cordell, you weren't there to help because of work, Emily helped me the best she could but I needed my best friend and HE WASNT FUCKING THERE!" I cry and shout at him as he realises what he missed out on by being so obsessed with work that his own wife was helping me instead of the person who knew me better than I know myself.
Micki gets Cordell to take a few steps back to give me space.
"So yeah I'm taking the fucking lead on this, grow up," I spit and turn around and continue the case we were assigned, I feel Micki fall in step with me as she wraps an arm around my shoulders and we leave Cordell standing on the footpath reeling in what just happened.

“Y/N,” Stella clings to you, refuses to let go of you. The moment you got out of your old truck she jumped at you, crying as you came back. “You’re back.”
“Yeah,” you swallow thickly when Stella tells you how much she has missed you. For now, you will hide you still don’t know if you will stay or go back to New York. “How have you been? I know my departure was—sudden.”
“It was his fault, wasn’t it?” she chokes out, looking up at you. “Why can’t he just admit he wants to go out with you? Dad should stop being so stubborn.”
“Your father and I, we are friends and partners. It’s complicated, you know. Maybe it would be easier if I wasn’t your mom’s best friend. I think Cor—I mean your dad doesn’t know how to express his feelings. And I don’t know if it’s a good idea that I stay here.”
“Why? You are family, Y/N. Please don’t leave us again. August, he doesn’t show it but he’s missing you too. He’s as stubborn as dad,” Stella sighs when you run your hand over her hair. “Dad is an idiot for not seeing how much you care about him.”
Tumblr media
“There she is, the long-lost daughter,” Bonham smirks when you walk toward the house, Stella hot on your heels. She refused to leave your side since you are back in town, even followed you home when you tried to change clothing.
“Hi,” you let Cordell’s father wrap you in a hug. “How have things been since I’ve been gone? Do you still drive your wife crazy?” he snickers at your words.
“So, you’ve become an important FBI agent now?” he looks at you, searching your face while hoping you will come back. “I heard about Cordell and you. Why didn’t you tell me you are about to become our new daughter-in-law?”
“Bonham,” you sigh, shaking your head lightly, “this is all a misunderstanding. Cordell and I are only friends and partners.”
“Do you want to tell me you left your home, your family for a job you don’t want out of the blue? I know about the blind date and that you left town right after you canceled, the party,” he slings one arm around your shoulders to lead you into the house. “I am an old man, not blind nor stupid.”
“Love is out of the question for Cordell and me,” Bonham doesn’t say a word. He guides you into the house, biting his tongue. “Emily was the woman he loved, and it will always be her for him. I don’t think he will be able to open his heart for someone else.”
“How about we save the heavy topics for later and have dinner? Abeline made your favorite, and she made a pie to die for, Y/N,” you hate to say no to Bonham, so you nod silently, swallowing the lump in your throat. “You know, if he doesn’t man up and asks you out, I’ll handle this for him.”
“Bonham,” he laughs when you try to stop him from playing the matchmaker for you and his son. “Please don’t try to change his mind. Cordell is—”
“A stubborn man, but he has feelings for you, my dear. He’s like his old man,” Bonham ends your sentence. “Y/N, he’s a good man, with a broken heart. He just needs a little push. Let me push him if I must.”
Tumblr media
“That’s delicious Abeline,” you try to break the awkward tension in the dining room. While Stella and August won’t stop asking questions about New York, the FBI and your training Cordell sits opposite you, frowning anytime you say something, “as always.”
“Thank you, Y/N,” Cordell’s mother gives you a soft smile, offering another slice of the pie to you. “You are always welcome to join us for dinner. Cordell should invite you more often.”
“Mom,” Cordell clears his throat, eyes drifting toward you again. Tonight, he sticks to water, doesn’t even touch the beer his father offered to him. “Y/N will come around when she finds the time. She has her own life…maybe even in New York.”
“Dad,” Stella drops her fork. She grimaces, pointing her finger at you. “Do you want her to leave town again? Why don’t you ask her out? If you can go out with that other woman, you can go out with Y/N!”
“Stella,” August tries to spare you another hurtful scene. He’s grown for his age, and you give him a weak smile. “We talked about this, didn’t we?”
“Fine,” grasping for her water Stella glares at her father. “If she leaves all of us because of you, I will never forgive you.”
“I think that is enough,” Bonham speaks up. “Y/N doesn’t owe you anything, Stella. She is important to all of us, but this doesn’t mean she must stay in town and work as a Texas Ranger, not when she has the chance to become an FBI agent.”
“Grandpa,” Stella sniffs, looking at him, pleadingly. “Please. I don’t want to lose her too. He can’t ruin everything for us. Mom died because—”
“Enough,” this time you drop the fork. “It was my fault too. We arrested that man together. I was the one not wanting to give up and your mom and Jason paid the price. The guilt almost ate me up and your father was the one catching my fall,” you admit, pushing the tears away.
“What?” Stella inhales sharply. She always believed you are like Wonder Woman. Invincible and strong-willed. “But—but you seem so strong and…”
“Even the mightest people fall sometimes. It’s no shame to accept help from someone,” you clear your throat, eyes drifting toward Cordell. You know he’s ashamed Geri called you and that you saw him drunk once again. “Some people might say you are even stronger for accepting help.”
Tumblr media
“Hi—erm, can I help you?” watching you clean the dishes Cordell awkwardly stands in the kitchen. “Mom said the dishwasher needs fixing. Let me lend you a hand.” He stands behind you to subtle sniff at your hair.
You can feel his chest press against your back when he tries to take the first plate out of your hand. “I—I can do this,” voice a little shaky you try to focus on the warm water soaking your hands, not the heat coming out of Cordell’s body. “How about you go back and chat a little or something.”
“Y/N, will it always be like that from now on? I want you to look at me the way you did before you left for New York,” he begins. “Please at least look at me. Even if you give me a dirty look. Just talk to me.”
“Do you think you are the only person thinking about shit all the time,” you place the plate back into the sink. “I think about Jason and Emily all the fucking time,” you turn around to jab your finger into his chest.
“Baby girl,” you whimper at the pet name. “I’m sorry—” he runs his large hands up and down your arms to calm you. “I should have stayed away from you, but I can’t. Y/N, I feel guilt too.” You huff at his words, not believing he feels sorry at all.
“Oh, you feel guilty for fucking me?” you retort, letting out a frustrated huff. “Do you know why I feel guilty, huh?” he shakes his head, swallowing thickly when tears well up to your eyes. “I feel guilty for getting them killed. I feel guilty for fucking my best friend’s husband. I feel guilty for hiding whatever we have from our families and friends. And I feel guilty for wanting you so bad that I can’t think straight when you are close to me.”
“Baby girl,” he gently cups your face, stroking your skin with his thumbs, “I’m so sorry for being an insensitive asshole. I should’ve told you how I feel a long time ago.” His lips softly press against your forehead, and you sigh deeply, hating he makes you feel weak all over again. “Please, give me a chance to show you I can be better.”
“I need to…I need to go,” you duck under his arm to escape the painful situation. Before you flee out of the house you look back over your shoulder to give Cordell one last glance. “Give me a few days to sort my thoughts, Cord. I just can’t be with you right now.”
Tumblr media
“Hey, Ems,” you sit in front of your friend’s grave. “Do you think I should go back to New York? I-I know it’s wrong to love your husband, but I can’t stop my heart from beating only for him.” you sniff, wiping your eyes. “Shit, I can still feel his hands on me. He’s just—fuck. Cordell gets under my skin, Emily.”
Silence is a good friend tonight, so you sit there in front of her grave, drinking your favorite beer. “Do you remember when we first met? I thought you hate me, and you believed I am too cool to hang out with you. But the truth is, back then, I thought you are the coolest girl I ever met.”
“Shit, I wish you were here with me, Emily. I swear, nothing would’ve happened between me and Cordell if you were here. I could’ve never done such a shady thing,” you sip at your beer, sighing deeply.
“...and even now, I think about him and his fucking hands. God, his hands all over me and his lips against my throat. I love when he calls me baby girl. It drives me crazy, and I believe that I will lose my mind.”
Tumblr media
“Coming,” Cordell grumbles, reluctantly opening the door to his house. “Y/N?” he gasps when you grab his shirt to bring him down for a messy kiss. “Baby girl.”
“Just shut up,” cupping the back of his neck, you kiss him again, this time slow and gentle. “I-I don’t know what to do. I only know that I want you.”
“I want you too—” you find yourself in his arms, your legs around his waist as he carries you inside his house. “Let me show you how much, baby girl…”

A Happy Love Story
Relationship(s): August Walker/Sadie Yoo, August Walker & Stella Walker

Summary: In which Sadie courts August and he is very appreciative
Part 3 of the Shame verse
Written for @flufftober Day 21- Swoon

------
The Walker family had a habit of taking on strays. Not that they’d ever use that language, but it was true. People in their orbit that had little in the way of family tended to find themselves wrapped up in the ever growing Walker family hugs.
As such, it was no surprise that when Sadie Yoo came into their lives, she became a fixture in their little clan through no fault of her own. Between living at Geri’s house and Abby constantly extending invites to family dinner, it was almost impossible to avoid.
What was a surprise was her attraction to August, something none of them were aware of until Sadie asked Cordell for permission to court his son.
“You know, if anyone should be giving you permission to court him, it’s August,” he said, mostly because he wasn’t sure how to answer.
“Well, duh,” Sadie said. “But you seemed the traditional type and I didn’t want to step on any toes.”
“Uh huh, sure.” Cordell squared his shoulders. “In that case, you should know August has had some trouble with Alphas in the past. One of those encounters was particularly scarring. I’m sure you have no intention of hurting him, but if you do, I’m in a position to cause you a world of hurt. As is the rest of my family. Is that clear?”
Sadie smirked. “I wouldn’t expect anything less.”
Later, after dinner, Sadie did ask August’s permission to court him. Though he seemed surprised by the offer, he said yes.
—--------
August wasn’t expecting much from Sadie’s courtship. He knew what he should expect from an Alpha from talks with his father and his grandmother. Gifts, dates, some overprotective behavior. “Nothing that makes you uncomfortable; if they overstep, don’t be afraid to tell them. And if you are afraid to tell them, then tell me,” Cordell had stressed.
At the time, he hadn’t thought the talk would be necessary. Sure, many parts of society still considered omegas important and special and all that, but times had changed since his grandparents’ day. Omegas weren’t married off as soon as possible and fertility just didn’t matter as much to people these days. He didn’t think that just being openly omega was going to bring about a ton of suitors, or any at all if he was being honest.
Sadie asking him had been a surprise, but a very welcome one. From the first day they met, August had felt a pull toward her that he couldn’t explain.
Despite his strong feelings for Sadie, he wasn’t expecting much. He knew she didn’t have much in the way of money and it’s not like she had a lot of competition. And it’s not like his standards were all that high. Honestly, flowers and chocolates would completely win him over.
But Sadie, August found, really liked defying his expectations.
She never bought him flowers, but she did bring him a freshly picked bouquet once a week. She never bought him chocolates, but she did bake him cookies and brownies on the regular. She never took him to fancy restaurants, but she came by the ranch every day just to talk to him. And usually to drop off a cute love note that he would find sometime later and wait to read in secret because he didn’t need Stella teasing him about his blush.
Sadie was absolutely doing her best to woo him. And August was, for lack of a better word, utterly swooning.
“Has she officially asked to mate you yet?” Stella asked him one day.
“Not yet,” he said, carefully arranging the latest flower delivery. “Why?”
“Just curious.” She hummed. “And you’re okay with all this, right? She’s not making you uncomfortable or anything?”
“No.”
“And she hasn’t asked you to do anything in return, right?”
“No.” That was one thing he’d been nervous about initially, especially with all the attention Sadie was lavishing him with. But she’d been nothing but respectful so far and barely even held his hand without asking permission. “We did kiss once but I initiated it. So relax.”
She nodded. “Okay. That’s good. You know I worry. After Kevin-”
“Sadie’s not him,” he said firmly. Just hearing that bastard’s name brought on a bad mood. “Are you done with the questions? She’s going to be here soon.”
“Augie, I just-”
“Am I interrupting something?”
August had never been happier to hear Sadie’s voice. “Nope! Come in.”
Sadie smirked and held up a picnic basket. “Actually, I was hoping you could come out here.”
If August were an 18th century high society lady, he might physically swoon at that. But, as it was, he just let his heart do a little dance. “Yeah, that sounds fun…”
“Make sure you bring him-”
Sadie cut Stella off. “Yeah, yeah, I’ll have him home by midnight. I know the rules, Fairy Godmother.”
Stella scowled but waved them off. “Have fun.”
“We will!” Sadie held out her hand. “Ready to go?”
August gripped her hand as his heart skipped a beat. “With you? Always.”

masterlist
It was a sunny afternoon, a perfect day to be riding around with the windows down jamming out to music with my mom. We were going to meet up with my dad before we headed out to deliver supplies. It was one of those days where my mom let me go with her to drop them off since there was no school. She’s always helping people which is what I admire so much about her. I would love to help people as much as she has, that's why I go with her sometimes so I can learn how to help others.
We pull up on the dirt road and see my dad’s truck approaching. My mom parks the car and gets out. “Well look at you. Did you get your guy?” she smirks at my dad.
“Do you even have to ask?” he states, taking off his hat and putting it on the hood of his truck.
“You get huffy when I don't ask” I chuckle to myself at my mom's response.
“Yeah, I got my guy.” he rolls his eyes and approaches mom more, “You heading out already?”
“Yeah I gotta pick up Geri. she’s got the supplies” she says then dad pulls her into a kiss.
“Ew! Come on guys!” I yell through the car window. “I’m right here.” They pull apart and laugh looking at my direction with their arms still wrapped around each other.
“Its love sweetie, you’ll understand when you’re married one day mom tell me with a smile
“Which won’t be till your 40!” my dad adds in.
“Really dad” I rolled my eyes and hopped out of the car. I walked toward them crossing my arms, trying to be annoyed but fail and end up smiling. Dad laughs and pulls me into a hug.
“I’m serious Butterbean. No boys” He pulled me tighter in the hug and gave me a kiss on the top of my head. He pulled away smiling, then looked at mom and said “And you’re going to be..”
“On the approved route that you gave me.” she finishes his sentence. He nods and looks over at me again.
“And you little missy will..”
“Stay with mom and listen to her directions.” I replied.
“Okay.” Dad nodded satisfied with our answers.
“Don't worry, Ranger Walker. We’ll be fine” Mom pulled me into a side hug and I leaned my head on her shoulder. “Now get up to the house. Augies waiting on you, with your parents. It’s game night.”
“Right. Uh, how do I play that game again? Every time you tell me the rules I-I black out. And I’ll be at a loss without my usual partner” He says looking to be at the last part. I roll my eyes.
“You’ll be alright, Dad. you might lose every game because I’m usually the reason we win.” I smirk
“Oh really” he said
“Babe.” mom cut us off “just go in there, go have dinner. They're just excited to see you. You could lose every single game and it wouldn't matter”
“Why are you talking about straight to me losing?” he laughed and kissed her again
“Oh for the love of” I grumbled to myself. Jokingly of course, I'm happy that my parents love each other so much.
“Hey. Be safe.” Dad told mom once they pulled away. She nodded and dad looked over at me and said “You too Butterbean”
“Of course daddy.” I said, hugging him one more time before climbing back into the car.
                               »»————- ★ ————-««
It all happened so fast. One minute mom, Geri and I were handing out supplies then the next mom was telling me to run. We kept trying to run but the person was still chasing us. I was running right beside my mom but then she told me to run in a different direction.
“What?” I said as best I could while running.
“I need you to run in that direction,” she nods her head to the left, “ and keep running until you reach your dad’s and my spot, you know where that is right?” She asks and I nod my head. “Good and no matter what happens or what you hear, do not turn around.”
“But what about you?” I ask her tears welling up in my eyes.
“Don't worry about me, just keep running alright”
I nodded my head and said “I love you mom.”
“Love you too baby, now go!” she told me but I looked at her hesitantly. “Now Y/n/n!” she yelled and started to pull out her phone.
I took off in the direction she told me to go in. I was so scared, I felt like my heart was going to beat out of my chest, my lungs and legs were burning, begging me to stop. I heard the faint sound of a gunshot and scream in the distance. It took everything in me to not turn around and go back to my mom but I kept running. I had to, she told me to not stop “keep going, keep going Y/N, she wouldn't want you to stop running” I kept telling myself. I'm tired, confused, scared and overwhelmed at this point. I tried to wrap my head around every scenario that could have happened a couple of minutes ago. Who got shot? Mom? Geri? Was the shot fatal? Did the shooter miss? If I go back would I have been able to save them? Tears are pressing against my eyes, I just want to go home. Adrenaline is the only thing keeping me going at this point. I don't know how long I’ve been running for but I eventually saw my parent’s the white gazebo at Lady Bird Lake.
                                »»————- ★ ————-««
Emily pulled out her phone and called Cordell’s phone, she waited a couple rings before he answered.
“Emily, you alright?” he asked.
“Just had to call you. I told Y/N to go to our spot. Something's not right.” she answered sounding scared
“What do you mean?” Cordell asked, growing concerned for his wife and daughter. Emily didn't respond, Cordell can only hear her panting over the phone. “Emily. Emily.” he says trying to get a response from her. Then he could hear a gunshot and her scream over the phone. His heart dropped and he started to panic, this can't be happening. “Hey.” he said before the line disconnected. He quickly told his family that the call was work stuff. He didn't want to scare them with what he just heard on the phone. He quickly went outside and tried his wife’s phone again. All he got was voice mail. He yelled in frustration and sadness and started crying. The worst thing has happened to him, he lost his wife and possibly his daughter. His daughter! Cordell suddenly remembered that Emily said Y/N would be at their spot. He quickly pulled himself together the best he could and hopped in his truck. He started making his way to Lady Bird Lake praying to God that his daughter will be there. His heart was pounding, Cordell normally doesn't get scared a lot but in this moment he is. Pulling onto the road leading to the gazebo he sees his daughter run out of the trees and collapse. At the sight of her he feels slightly relieved, at least he didn't lose both of girls in the same night.
                                   »»————- ★ ————-««
As soon as I reached the white gazebo I collapsed. I start coughing and gasping for air because my burning lungs need it. I flinched away when I felt a hand touch my shoulder, scared it might be the shooter and he might have followed me here.
“Hey, hey, Y/N/N, it's ok.” I heard dad's voice. I looked up and saw him kneeling on the ground to be at the same level as me. He opened his arms out to be and instantly jumped in them and clung for dear life. Dad instantly responded by wrapping his arms tightly around me, stroking my hair and every once and while my back. With the adrenaline worn off my emotions finally caught up with me and I finally burst. I started sobbing, my whole body shaking and I started gasping for air again. “Oh butterbean, you're ok now. It's all over. Take some deep breaths for me.” my dad said the calmest he could while repeating the soothing motions. I could tell he was trying to hide how upset he also is by the shakiness in his voice and I could feel tears drip into my hair. “Are you hurt?” He asked me gently and I shook my head in response.
“M-mom,” I was able to stutter out once calmed down enough “she told me to r-run….then there was a gunshot...I don't know if she’s-” I wasn't able to finish the sentence as I started to cry again. Dad shushed me and continued to keep telling me it's going to be ok…..I’m trying to believe him but I don't know if I can.
                                  »»————- ★ ————-««
                                        Eleven Months Later………
It’s dad's homecoming night. He’s returning from an undercover case he was on, I haven't seen him in eleven months and haven't talked to him in three. August and I started living at our grandparents house and Uncle Liam moved in shortly after to help take care of us. Uncle Liam and I got closer as he became my rock during dad’s absence. The whole family and dad’s old ranger partner, now chief, are waiting outside for dad to arrive home. He’s late of course, I am not even surprised at this point, and i’m starting to think he is not even going to show up at this point.
“Let’s just go inside” I told August
“He’s coming” August responded, looking down the road hoping for dad’s truck to pull in. I rolled my eyes.
“Oh, absolutely! Neither hell or high water could keep him away.” I said sarcastically. Then a vehicle pulls up onto the road leading to the house. My heart sped up and I got excited at the sight, I was finally about to see my dad again. That excitement fell when I realized its not dad’s truck but its Stan Morrison’s.
We greeted Stan and all went inside to have dinner. I was quiet for most of the night, not that anyone really paid attention to me. There wasn't really much for me to talk about since this dinner was supposed to be for dad, which he falled to show up too completely. After dinner I just went into my room while the rest of the adults talked. I started drawing in my sketchbook, nothing too detailed I just like doodling really. Tears were pressing against my eyes, I was so excited to see him again but when didn't show up at all I was heart broken. A knock at my door made me quickly wipe my eyes. The door opened to reveal Uncle Liam, he gave me a small smile.
“How are you holding up Y/N/N?” he asked. I just shrugged my shoulders and continued to look at my doodles. “You know I need a better response than that.” He said while walking further into my room and sitting down on the edge of my bed.
“I just...miss him you know? I haven’t seen him so long. I wish he never took that stupid case.” I said.
“Your dad is saving people when he’s on a case, but I understand that you miss him….and that you're mad at him too.” he told me giving a reassuring smile
“Was it that obvious?” I laughed a little and he nodded smiling.
“Get some rest ok. You have school tomorrow.” He told me, walking towards the door but I stopped him before he could leave.
“Do you think he’s mad at me?” I asked.
“Y/N, we talked about this.” he sighed
“ I know Uncle Liam, it's just...think about it, if I went back when the gunshot went off maybe I could have saved mom?” I mumbled.
“The key word in that sentence is maybe. I told you where the wound was there was an unlikely chance you could have saved her. And if you went back there was a more likely chance you would have gotten shot too.” He reassured you.
“Don't tell me you don't think that if mom was alive, dad wouldn't have been on a case for this long” I snapped. “I should have done something! But I didn't!” I cried. Liam quickly sat on the bed next to me and pulled me into a hug.
“Listen here Y/N, you did the right thing. I know you don't think so but you did but trust me when I tell you, you did everything right. You listen to your mom’s instructions and isn't that your dad’s rule anyway? ‘Always listen to mom’?” he comforted and I nodded at his question.
“I just want him here” you sobbed.
“Me too, me too.” he agreed, rubbing your back comfortably.

Loved Walker tonight! I love seeing the Walker family, but sometimes you just want to see some kick-ass action and intrigue! Spoilers ahead!
Favorite bits:
Captain James calling Cordell and Micki 3rd graders!
Micki going off-coms.
Gorgeous scenery and locations throughout!
Trey and detention!
The escape rooms.
Micki's hoop earrings.
Wasn't sure I'd like Garrison, but he grew on me.
The office fire scene was on-point with the stunts and the special effects!
Not to mention worried Captain James and Denice.
Plus, worried and insecure Liam. Can I just give him a hug? (Without messing up that beautiful hair.)
What's with the random horse walking by? That was weird.
LOL! A mixed CD! (Followed quickly by... rip my heart out you dumb CD.)
Cordell's "What do you need?" ❤️
Worried Trey sitting all alone. Come back to him Micki!!! He needs you!
And lastly, the final scene paralleling the first episode. Cordell and Micki are fantastic partners! I don't want to see Lindsey go.
Great episode! I'm ready to take a breather and spend more time with the family next week as we enjoy the Walker vs. Davidson Chili Cook-Off in Barn Burner!

August wanted to bulk up over the summer. He didn't say why, just that he was ready for a change. So, Cordell and Y/N were more than ready to help him make a workput plan and set reasonable goals.
This plan involved a morning run followed by 1-2 hours of weighlifting in the mornings. Every day they tried a new regimine but, as far as Cordell was concerned, the result was the same.
That result being watching Y/N get all hot and sweaty.
Cordell had his own workouts to do but he kept a close eye on his boys. He liked watching their muscles flex and bulge, creating a lightshow with the sweat shining off them. The Texas sun only added to the heat and made sure they all needed frequent water breaks. Cordell could watch Y/N's adam's apple bob up and down as he greedily slurped down his water (and maybe he would pretend his son was gulping down something else). He watched the occassional droplet fall down his chin and neck to his chest, where it would join the dark sweatstains on his shirt.
The cooldown was probably his favorite part, where the Walker boys would congratulate each other on their hard work, sweaty hugs and backpats abound. If Cordell snuck in a squeeze or two to feel the muscle under his habds, no one seemed to mind. Mostly because his boys were squeezing too.
And that was just fine in his book.

Short Straw
Tumblr media
Prompt from @flamencodiva : “Right, who’s drawn the short straw this time?”
Beta: @wonder-cole
A/N: I love Gen, and I love the couple that she and Jared make, but this is a pure act of fiction and they are not together for the purpose of this fic!!
A/N 2: The song in this fic is Burn it to the Ground from Nickleback.
“Come on Y/N, just go over and talk to him! He’s cute, and attractive, he may even buy you a drink,” one of her friends pestered her. Y/N rolled her eyes as she tugged at her ponytail and tightened it. She’d been keeping her hair pulled back a lot during the Texas heat. She and her friends had been called out to Texas to be extras in the new reboot of Walker the TV show with the one and only Jared Padalecki. Jared was attractive in his previous role of Sam Winchester in Supernatural. For his new role as Cordell Walker, the widowed Texas Ranger? Damn he looked smokin “Drawing of sticks?” Y/N asked.
Out of the three friends gathered extra straws they had asked for and each took their own, before revealing who had the shorter of the two…. “Right, who’s drawn the short straw this time?” One of the friends said before Y/N’s face lit up bright red. The other two girls giggled, moving to push Y/N towards where Jared had been hiding and not recognized much by the fans in the area. The western cowboy hat was helping conceal who he was. Most Texans had a cowboy hat in this area anyway, so hardly anyone noticed.
Gathering her courage, Y/N grabbed her own brown western hat, swallowed the lump in her throat, walking over toward Jared’s tall shadow. She politely tapped him on the shoulder and he turned and y/c/e met Jareds and Y/n felt whatever words she was going to say to him fall right at the tip of her tongue. His eyes were beautiful, they reminded Y/N of  a mosaic, each sliver of his iris a different color - blue, green, gold, brown.
“Let me guess, you were the loser of rock paper scissors.” Jared says seeing Y/N in stunned shock and amazement and knew this was common when fangirls approached him. Blinking as she registered what he’d said to her, Y/N nodded embarrassed as her cheeks flushed a bright red color.
“Is it that obvious?” Jared nodded with a chuckle.
Of course Jared knew this game. He and former co-star Jensen Ackles, did this all the time; well, in character anyway. Jared and Jensen, aka Sam and Dean Winchester, always won their arguments over a game of rock paper scissors. To which Sam was usually the winner, only on a few rare occasions did the younger brother let the elder win.
Y/N let out a breath, hearing him laugh, so she wasn’t making a total fool of herself anyway. That was good at least. Rubbing the back of her neck, Y/N tried to feel less awkward. “Can I buy you a drink?” “Shouldn’t I be asking you that?” Jared says, his tone could almost be taken as a flirt. “How about this, I buy you a drink, and you owe me a dance out on the floor?”
It was a compromise. One all y/n could do in response is nod. She did have a drink at her table, but she wasn’t about to turn Jared down. After looking at Y/N for what seemed like forever, he smiled, placing her order to the bartender. Placed in Y/N’s hand was a jack and coke. Something simple, yet not too strong for her; Thank goodness there were such services like Uber and a taxi that could take her home if she needed it. She sure as hell wasn’t driving after all the alcohol in her system. “So, what brings you to Texas?’ Jared asks, trying to start a normal conversation with Y/N.
After the first round of drinks were completed, Jared held out his hand for her, leaving the woman to blink as she heard the guitar of a song kicked on followed by its bass. Y/N paled. “Jare, no.”
Jared laughed as he kept pulling Y/N to the dance floor where there was a group gathering to dance with the tune. She’d had enough drinks in her to definitely not be coordinated enough for this. Having looked up the song when she was on her way down, and the dance, Y/N knew she was in a world of trouble.
Well, it's midnight, damn right
We're wound up too tight
Wasn’t that the truth, it wasn’t midnight, but it was damn near close…. Y/N watched the steps for the first round and tried to talk it aloud to herself. Jared was already in the line and kicking up his leg and clearly having fun.
We're going off tonight
To kick out every light
Take anything we want
Drink everything in sight
We're going till the world stops turning
While we burn it to the ground tonight
Y/N took a deep breath and moved in step with the crowd. The steps weren’t difficult per say, but it wasn’t the easiest thing to do. Thank God her boots weren’t terribly high heeled. Her eyes widened when it came to the kicking portion of the dance, and Jared’s leg went as high as his collar bone. When Y/N tried, all she could do was kick as high as her hips.
The more turns performed, the more Y/N started to let loose around Jared. On one of the turns, Y/N lost her footing and ended up tripping into the taller man's arms, his muscles holding her to his chest. As he helped her stand, Jared’s lips inched toward hers, pressing against hers gently.
The house door slammed as Y/N was pinned against it. She and Jared had shared a few soft kisses in the cab seat of the Uber they’d ordered, using Jared’s card, as much as Y/N had insisted she pay, since he’d bought most of their drinks. Y/N’s panties were soaked, and she hoped Jared knew it. The man had run his hands up to her legs and had stopped at her knees. Damn her for not wearing a skirt. Then again, with that leg kicking, flashing underwear would not have been the smartest choice.
“Jared,” Y/N gasped and moaned. Jared’s kisses were down her neck and nipping at the flesh of her collar bone, his cock hard against his jeans and clearly he needed attention too. “Shh,” he whispered, kissing her, pulling Y/N with him towards the bedroom. While walking, Y/N tried to tug at his shirt, how the hell did he manage to keep that hat on? Oh that's right, he wore button down shirts. The button down shirt was torn open, buttons flying across the wood floor, causing Y/N to giggle.
Jared sits Y/N down on the bed and makes quick removal of her jeans and her black lacy thong, all in one movement. “Hold on tight baby girl.” Jared says as his Cordell Walker accent kicked in and it took all Y/N had in her to not cum on the spot with his words
Before Y/N could let out her next breath, Jared had her legs over his shoulders, his mouth mere inches away from her pussy, blowing warm air just across her sensitive clit. Goosebumps prickled Y/N’s flesh, causing her to shiver, causing Jared to smirk at her. Moans filled the bedroom as Jared continued to work her clit. “You like that don’t you, you little whore” he says. Fingers curled inside Y/N, looking for that ultimate sweet spot inside her, the spot that would leave her cumming all over his fingers and possibly making a mess of his bedding. Oh well, it needed to be washed anyway.
“Jared, please, don’t be a tease.” Y/N begged, toes curling, back arched up as she let out a breath and came over his fingers. She hadn’t gotten a chance to warn him that she was about to be sent into her orgasm, which Jared seemed to be pleased with judging by the hot ass smirk on his face.
“I never said I wasn’t going to be a tease baby girl,” Jared smirked as he took his mouth and began to kiss her wet pussy lips. Y/N moaned, gripping and tugging at his flesh. He’d chosen to keep the cowboy hat he'd worn at the bar after removing his shirt and damn, could he look more like a country god? Jared’s kisses were slow and gentle, Y/N didn’t mind slow and gentle. What she really wanted was that hot kind of sex you see in the movies.
“Jared, Oh fuck.” Y/N gasped as he brushed her sensitive clit, his tongue swirled inside her trembling walls as she shook as she came against Jared. Moans left her mouth as a half chant and her panting breath. The taller man didn’t give Y/N a chance to fully ride out her orgasm before shifting his position, his cock hovering at her entrance. There was a moment of him rubbing his rock hard cock against her juices. He let out a moan as he eased inside her, pushing all the way inside her till his hips were pressed against her.
“You like that don’t you, you little cock slut. You knew where the shorter straw was, you knew you wanted me to take you here and fuck you in my bed and make you scream my name didn’t you?” Jared pants in her ear, tugging at her ear lobe, “You just wanted to be my little whore didn’t you?” Y/N was in a state of bliss, wanting to reply to him. Was he a ‘Sir’ kind of man? Or was he a ‘Daddy?’ There were so many kinks running through her head she didn’t know what to think. He was hitting places inside her she’d never had a man hit before. Then again, Jared Padalecki was a lot thicker and larger than any man she’d slept with. Jared’s movements were as smooth as a choreographed dance. Y/N wrapped her legs around his hips. Attempting if it was possible to send him even deeper inside her. “That's right baby, take all of my cock,” He grunted with each thrust, panting as he pushed himself to the edge. Truth be told, Jared had been rock hard seeing her walk into the bar hours earlier. Y/N’s jeans hugged the curves of her hips, ass, her whole body perfectly. The top she’d worn was low cut, it was clear she hadn’t been wearing a bra, could have worn one but with the size of her breasts? She had every right to show them off.
The bedroom was filled with moans and groans from both parties occupying the bed. Cries of Jared’s name as Y/N worked through each orgasm. Positions changed every so often, Jared even asked her to ride his cock cowgirl style, to which Y/N had no problem taking his hat and smirked as if she’d been riding a mechanical bull at the bar. Jared’s cock twitched inside her as he was nearing his own orgasm, wanting to paint her walls with his white hot cum he’d been holding back for what seemed almost too long.
Jared had nearly came in her mouth as she’d sucked him off. On her knees in between his legs, her pussy soaked from the orgasm he’d given her before they shifted to Jared receiving a blowjob. Jared was intent on pushing Y/N as far as she was able to, but she looked like she could swallow his entire length. He’d pushed gently to allow her time to adjust to his size, but holy fuck when she had the ability to push past her gag reflex? Damn it was the hottest thing he’d ever seen.
“You gonna cum for me Cowboy?” Y/N smirked as she noticed Jared’s change in rhythm. He was slamming a lot harder now and yet it was slower for a few minutes before resuming the pounding of her pussy. “Where do you want me, you little slut? Want me to cum in this little pussy and let my cum run down your leg so people know you were just fucked?” Jared pants. All Y/N could do was nod, rubbing her over sensitive clit as she’d cried out his name and pulled his mouth to hers as he cried out her name, warm ropes of hot cum exploded from the tip of his cock. As promised, as Jared slowly pulled back, white cum slowly eased out of her pussy, Y/N tried desperately to keep all of it inside her. His cum was so warm, it made her feel giddy inside.
Jared moved to collapse on the bed, his breath heaving as he attempted to catch his breath. Both of their bodies were covered in sweat. Once able to move, Y/N moved to spoon herself into Jared’s arms.
“Best sex we’ve had in a while,” Jared says with a smirk.
“Agreed, stranger foreplay made it more fun. I actually was glad I didn’t wear a dress, if I flashed my pussy to anyone else, you’d have gotten jealous and started a brawl then where would we be?” Jared chuckled and kissed her head, brushing away her sweat soaked hair.
“Once we’re able to move, I’m making you a large ass breakfast.”
Jared leaned up to look down at Y/N, “Is that before or after I ask you to marry me?”

Walker Family Secret- Valentine’s Drabbles
Word Count- 491
Pairing- kinda Cordell Walker x Reader (mostly platonic, though)
"I'm just tired, Cordy."
"I wish you'd never heard Liam call me that." Walker handed you a small glass of sweet tea and sat beside you. "I understand, Y/n. 'Tired' doesn't even begin to cut it after the year I've had."
You sighed and took a drink. It was perfectly sweetened. You'd been wondering for years how Abilene managed that every single time.
"I shouldn't be complaining to you. You've got it a lot worse than I do."
"Why, thank you so much. I feel much better now," he said, smirking.
You rolled your eyes and sighed. "Damn, I just can’t win tonight, can I?" You set the glass on the table and turned to him. "I just meant that you've got a lot on your plate with the kids and dealing with what happened to Em and coming back to work. I shouldn't bitch about my-"
"Hey. We have known each other for twenty-five years, so you can complain to me about any-goddamn-thing."
"Not true, Walker. This is…" You shrugged. "It's insignificant."
"Not if you're here." You opened your mouth to argue, to say that you were there because Abilene Walker made the best sweet tea or you wanted to see the horses, but he grunted and sat forward. “All right. I know what you need.” He opened his arms wide and jutted his chin down at his chest. “Bring it in.”
“Come on. You think a hug’s gonna fix this?”
“You’re so sure that it won’t?” he challenged.
“Stubborn S.o.B.,” you muttered as you leaned forward and wrapped your arms around him. As soon as his arms enveloped you, you started to feel relief. The stress of your day, or rather your year, started to melt away. “Man, how did you do that?” you whispered, starting to pull back.
“Walker family secret.” He didn’t let you go from the embrace. “Stay a while.”
“At the ranch or-”
He chuckled. “I was talking about the hug, but you kinda have to stay at the ranch to stay in the hug.”
You settled your head against his chest, wondering what his children, who hadn’t seen you in years, would think if they walked in on you cuddling on their couch. You put that thought out of your head as he adjusted the placement of his hands to your lower back to press you closer. The ‘Walker family secret’ was an effective one. You hadn’t had a chance to embrace Cordell like this since college, when you were freaking out over a midterm test you were certain you had failed. You spent hours being comforted by him that night while your peers were partying in their dorms and in the halls and on the lawns. On a night when you shouldn't have found sleep due to noise and anxiety, you fell asleep in Walker's arms. It was a kind of magic he had.
"I'll stay a while," you whispered.
