This old fucking bitty just tried to hit and run me!
Where I live, there's 3-4 lane road coming from a bridge.
However, they claim they do not MARK that it is 4 lanes, rather 2 (found out after).
But, for MY ENTIRE LIFE ON THIS PLANET (30+ years) EVERY SINGLE PERSON uses it like a 3-4 (one side has a major right turn) lane. The only time everyone didn't was when one side allowed parking on the street. But they stopped doing that. So I thought that was the law. Again, because it's super wide, both sides, no parking. WHY ELSE BE FOUR LANES WIDE!? Also, I do think it's a 2 lane not only cuz of everyone doing it (I video taped 5 people do it as I was sitting there waiting for the cop), but there are COUNTESS roads in michigan where there are two lanes, but the divider paint was worn out so you can't tell it's 2 lanes. I saw like 2 other roads like that today alone. Not my fucking fault. Paint your god damn lines!!! In pitch black of night, you can hardly see them! Make them glow in the dark idiots!
Anyways, I am creeping up, slower than speed limit, and see a guy stopped at the corner. I know, by law, you can't block an intersection, so I slow down even more. I HAD A FEELING. I see nothing. So I start to ease thru..(and in retrospect, if I would have been speeding, I probably would have avoided her!)
Old Lady, at THAT MOMENT comes thru the intersection (NO right of way. She was IN CONSTRUCTION), and PLOWS into me. To this moment, I do not know if she was turning left (she NEVER would have made it) or right (directly into my lane, which where I was technically was the official start of the 2 lanes, so she still didn't have the right of way over me.) I have NEVER turned my steering wheel so tight. I ALMOST avoided her (SO SO close), but she was going way too fast. With my wheels turned, and her hitting me, you could almost SMELL the rubber from my tires being peeled off. I took all the damage for the most part, and pull to a local parking lot to make sure my car was drive-able. I see her turn 2 blocks away, away from me.
After I see my car is safe to drive, I go to find her and get her info. I didn't care if she called the cops or not, but I wanted her info. I was not at fault! I go around 2-3 blocks. Can't find her! Then I circle another block, find her, MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, at the stop sign, just sitting there.
I pull up to the side, stare at her, and tell her multiple times to roll down the window. She just stares at me like she doesn't know who I am. I scream I want your info! She stays there a few more minutes till I pull to the side of her again and tell her 'Pull in the nearby parking lot!' She finally moves. And at the parking lot, she calls the cops. And btw-she's not in shock. She barely got touched in all of this. A scratched fender, and one broken light. THAT IS IT. My door and wheel were smashed in! I could see her gears turning. She was trying to turn this around as 'a sweet old lady' (also she had a newer car. Her insurance would be insane if she got a ticket).
Cop comes, talks to us both. I tell him how she tried to hit and run, and avoided me. He said 'she says was looking for you.' Then a-how come I found her? b-she did NOT call the cops till l confronted her? Would you not call them immediately if you thought you were innocent? c-she was sitting at a stop sign when I found her, middle of the road. She wasn't looking for SHIT. I FOUND HER. FROM BEHIND.
In the end, no ticket. Just a police report. Why?
Because government is inept, redundant, and stupid. I talked to the cop longer about this fucked up situation than the actual accident. Because I ain't usually 'give that bitch a ticket' but I was in a 'give that bitch a ticket' mood*.
So I guess because this road follows a highway, the laws for it are blended between state and local. Local politicians AND cops for basically my whole life (3 decades!) have said this was a 3-4 lane road, make it a two lane road at least on the one side, paint it as a 2 lane, it will help accidents and flow of traffic.
State basically said no. Fuck you. Keep it as it is, and you are NOT allowed to touch it. I guess they even said they would UNDO IT if they did it. (cop told me ALL of this. Paraphrasing, of course.)
So what did the local cops and judges do?
Anytime there's an accident there (cop implied 28 already at that EXACT spot already this year), the cops either do not write tickets, or the judges almost ALWAYS throw them out anyways.
As a 'fuck you' to the state.
Just...can you believe a HIGHER authority, the state, won't let locals do what they know is better and safer for the community? I mean, even the cop was talking about a 2 year project for the road and bridge by the state that they PRAY the state will fix and draw the lines (and they better. They're building a new gas station RIGHT in the heart of it. THEY NEED 2 lanes!)
So no ticket, but if that old bitty tries something, let her. I took pictures, videos, etc, and my car clearly looks like she GUNNED into me, while I tried to avoid her. How did I see her first if she had the right of way? Right of way means she's already going. I would have ran into her...
<super bad is I'm on my parent's insurance.>
Just...never had someone try to hit and run, but an old lady? And she tried to say technically it wasn't a 2 lane road, but guess what? The cop admitted EXACTLY where I was technically was the start of the 2 lane road. Bring it on you old bitch. Lie to cops, I don't care. But you ain't fucking lying to me.
I seriously think it was the first time I saw someone try a hit and run. It's fucking crazy! Like, everyone around us saw you hit me, but you think these backroads, which I have navigated my entire life, will hide you? I found you fucker cuz where you turned was a series of dead ends! You only ONE out. And I found it.
I had to stalk an old lady who hit me so she would call the cops! I knew she wouldn't until I wouldn't leave. Just...I can't make this shit up!!!
*cop, very politely for how insanely hot it was, kindly tried to explain to me how, tho EVERYONE was using that lane I was using, that doesn't make it legal. He said I do not catch every speeder, does that make speeding ok? And I said 'I'm a do no harm, no foul guy. And there's situation where speeding is required.' He shrugged it off, but its' the truth. She harmed me, tried to run away, and played it aloof cuz 'she an old lady.' Fuck that. FUCK THAT. I own up to any accident I have caused that harms anyone outside of me, you do the same. I will fight her tooth and nail, cuz I am confident she's going to do something cuz a-thats her new car b-insurance c-she's a 'sweet old lady.'
'She was trying to find you.' Middle of the road, stop sign, opposite direction of where I was? She SAW what direction I went, and I KNOW ways I could have avoided her if I needed. She was hiding, making sure I was gonna flee, then gonna call the cops, and claim hit and run. FUCK HER TO HELL. I'm sorry, but this is what pissed me off the most. Not the accident, not even the old lady hit and run, but the fact the cop just outright believed the old lady when I described how I had to force her to pull over....I HAVE NEVER HAD ANYTHING HAPPEN LIKE TODAY.
ps-FUCK the state of michigan. In every meaning of the word. You are IMBECILES.

The Lords in Black and their obsession with wants
I've already had the theory of tgwdlm and how it relates to wants, but NPMD takes it to a whole new level. The Lords in Black are obsessed with wants. This is easily show within the Lords in Black song, specifically the:
"whatever we want we want we want whatever we want we get, whatever you want you want you want forever in our debt!"
This line is super interesting. It even stuck out to me the first time I watched it. Once you get your want, you are indebted to the lords in black. It's a 'I scratch your back you scratch mine' scenario. And we have seen it before!
Pokey - Once you get your want within tgwdlm, that is the seal to your death. I could go into a whole in depth theory here, I have on in my google drive, but I will keep it shorter than that here. Paul originally wanted a black coffee, which we knew wasn't his actual want, and the hive tried to provide that with CORC/COPC and that would've been it, but Paul actually wants Emma and he gets the promise of Emma after the helicopter crash and gets her officially in Inevitable. Emma wanted a pot farm and to not die in hatchetfield, and to finally see paul. She got all three. Ted wanted to screw around with another man's wife and he definitely did that. Bull wanted his daughter. Charlotte wanted to be wanted/loved. They all got it and they all died. TLDR is that once anyone admitted to their want in tgwdlm, they would get it and proceed to die. It was a game of chess. Also the line "What do you want, Steph?" that is a clear mirror to TGWDLM- GOD!
Wiggly - He focuses on the want for more than you have; the want of happiness and to fill those holes. Everyone wants that, but it's more prominent in adults within Black Friday. In exchange for those holes to be filled, you give him power. You give him the means to escape and be free in your world, but you don't know that. Nothing comes free in Hatchetfield, and it isn't just the simple price of 49.95. You're in his debt.
Tinky - The want to change the Past. In exchange he drives you to insanity, satisfying his sadistic needs. Once again, not that you know that. But there is always a price to pay for a redo in time.
Nibbly - The want for Power. Not only does Roman literally channel his power from Nibbly, but it is also shown in the Honey Queen Festival itself. Anyone who ends up being sacrificed to Nibbly was hungry for power, but instead of you getting it, Roman does and it ends your life as your soul gets devoured.
Blinky - The want for knowledge / to see all. This one you might be confused by. Alice wants to be at the party and to know that her girlfriend isn't cheating on her, and the one thing holding her back is her father. Meanwhile, Bill wants to know what is going on in Alice's life so he can have a closer relationship to her. The debt that must be paid for blinky is complete corruption of your mind, as you lose sight over what is truly important. It's a game for him.
Once you have gotten what you have wanted from the lords, committed your trade, there is always a major sacrifice. But for stuff like Grace's situation, it also opens up a new door for the lords. The ability to gain valuable resources/people to serve them. Grace was such an easy person to manipulate to serve her want, to rid the world of dirty dudes, while also serving their want. The want to feed on others souls so they can wreck havoc on the world when the time comes.

Pain and Prejudice: A Call to Arms for Women and Their Bodies by Gabrielle Jackson is an excellent addition to my health feminism and bias in medicine shelves.
She does an excellent job of laying out why there are no incentives for treating or researching chronic pain, and how the healthcare system must adjust; she also makes a good case for why this change should come from the government and their funding. She breaks down well how the system is not set up for something like chronic pain, and highlights the issues of 'heartsink' patients, the pressure on doctors to cure and have all the answers rather than mitigate or investigate, and how a higher life expectancy does not necessarily mean a better life quality.
I've reviewed many of these books and so I want to highlight specifics that Jackson brings to the table that I did not find in other books. These include a breakdown of Chronic Overlapping Pain Conditions (COPCs), descriptions of each of the primary ones and how they intersect, and a focus on chronic pain conditions overall throughout the book. She has a especially excellent breakdown of how the lack of knowledge of female biology overall results in hysteria narratives, an enforced need for women to go to the doctor more often for basic prescriptions due to an inherent distrust or policing, and how overall misogyny and sexism ties in with our inability to believe women about their pain. I appreciated how Jackson paired her discussion of a lack of education in female biology and chronic pain with an in-depth education about those things for women who might need it.
I also appreciated her quoting and acknowledging Maya Dusenbery. I've found that many books recently quietly use her research or issues she brought to the forefront but bypass her specifically, and so I really appreciated how much she was highlighted for her analysis of this issue.
Overall, Jackson's book is a tremendous success and call-to-action about the bias in medicine against women, the failures of the health-care system to treat or consider chronic pain conditions, and what can be changed. Her own endometriosis story influences much of her writing, and it adds a particular indignation throughout that is tremendously satisfying and convincing.
