Handsome Devil (2016) Review
Handsome Devil (2016) Review
Ned Roche did not want to go back to the boarding school he attended due to being bullied and targeted because he was not fully into rugby which is the main focus of the school. He is gay and content with that, when Conor Masters arrives as his new roommate it was going to be a nightmare with him being on the rugby team right? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (more…)

'...Handsome Devil
You guys, Nicholas Galitzine and Andrew Scott are in! In this 2016 film by John Butler, Ned (Fionn O’Shea), an outcast at an elite Ireland boarding school. Ned, who hates rugby, is thrown for a loop when rugby prodigy Conor (Galitzine) shows up as his new roomie. Ned and Conor become friends and Ned learns about Conor’s sexuality. Scott appears as Mr. Sherry, a gay English teacher who takes Ned and Conor under his wing. If you can’t get enough of Galitzine, enjoy him in his sweaty rugby-playing glory here...'

Handsome Devil (John Butler, 2016)
Cast: Fionn O’Shea, Nicholas Galitzine, Andrew Scott, Moe Dunford, Ruairi O’Connor, Michael McElhatton. Screenplay: John Butler. Cinematography: Cathal Watters. Production design: Ferdia Murphy. Film editing: John O’Connor. Music: John McPhillips.
I've got nothing against happy endings, except when they turn a promising movie into an ordinary one. Something like that happens in John Butler's Handsome Devil, which starts off well, with a deft lightness of tone and some extremely likable performances, especially from Andrew Scott as Mr. Sherry, the Irish high school's new English teacher, and Fionn O’Shea as Ned, the misfit student who hates rugby in a school devoted to it. Naturally, Ned is immediately suspected of being gay, especially by the blustering bear of a rugby coach, Mr. O'Keefe (Moe Dunford). But then Ned is assigned a new roommate, Conor Masters (Nicholas Galitzine), a rugby star who was expelled from his old school for fighting. After a bad start, Ned and Conor find that they're more compatible than they expected. There's a lot of bright, sharp dialogue as the film progresses, but soon you see the turn into familiar territory, as the only way Butler seems to see for his film to end is by turning to conventions out of sports movies, romcoms, and the troubled adolescent subgenre. At the end, everyone involved learns a lesson about prejudice and tolerance, and what was a thoroughly enjoyable movie becomes a vehicle for a message. I didn't feel bad at the end of Handsome Devil, but I did feel cheated.

Cine: Handsome Devil (2016)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

Only Amateurs Name Drop Steve Ballmer, w/ Mike Nichols
Get ready for an exciting episode of Raw Data by P3 Adaptive!  Our guest today is Mike Nichols, a consumer technology and entertainment leader with a proven track record of building growth businesses and exceptional organizations. He's none other than the former Chief Marketing Officer at Xbox, who played a critical role in turning around the Xbox One release with his customer-centric and innovative marketing campaigns featuring #AaronPaul and #DannyMcBride. But that's not all—our guest also had a significant impact on the development of Microsoft's search engine, Bing, which was originally launched as Microsoft Live.
Mike also shares his data journey and some inside information on how he brings people together to drive growth and build iconic brands. He shares his insights on customer-centricity, innovation, diversity, and teamwork, and how these principles have guided his leadership throughout his career. From Xbox to Bing, our guest has left a lasting impact on the tech industry, and as a bonus, we even get to learn the truth about what "BING" stands for and what Mike knows about the naming process.
It's not all facts today, though, we do get a little speculation as Rob, Mike, and Tom delve into a fascinating debate about the divorce rate at Microsoft. Tom proposes a theory on the durability of first marriages for the first generation of Microsoft employees, and Rob and Mike weigh in on whether the overall rate is higher than the general public's and, more importantly, whether the rate is higher for Microsoft employees who were closely associated with Rob Collie. Is it the Microsoft Effect or the Rob Collie Effect? Regardless, this interesting discussion sheds light on the impact of work culture on personal relationships and the challenges of maintaining a healthy work-life balance in the tech industry.
Join us for an episode that is both entertaining and thought-provoking, as we explore the people behind the tech and the impact of work culture on personal relationships. This is an episode you won't want to miss!

like you can't just use aabria's npcs as you see fit with no concern for their free will. or at least not without consequences. you can't just use charm or command or sometimes intimidate and expect to be best friends afterwards. there is no conor counterspell who gets suggestion cast on him and remains loyal enough afterwards to save your life. if you keep only checking in on your subordinates when you have tasks for them, you can't be a family with them. if you don't check to make sure your butler isn't in the room and start blabbing secrets, he's gonna hear them. and people aren't just going to think the way you want them to think because you passed a check, you don't have that much control over their inner beliefs. or even if you really do have someone's loyalty, down to the bone, there are sometimes negative consequences to that as they read your intentions and try to execute them. like it feels hostile compared to brennan's npcs, but it's also much more real, and makes for very intense roleplay interactions and drama imo

The only driver-owner in the field, Ed is very focused on winning the Indy 500, either himself or his drivers. Quiet and appearing mild-mannered, he's got a wickedly dry sense of humor. He doesn't anger easily but when his temper does flare, he has no problem confronting the target of his ire.
He's very family focused, including his drivers in that family. He virtually adopted his brand new driver, Conor Daly, during the 2020 lock down, working out together at Ed's home and inviting Conor to dinner and fry outs with Ed's family. He always encourages them to do what's best for them and their career, even if that means leaving Ed's team, reportedly pushing Josef Newgarden to take the Penske spot when it was offered to him.
He and his team are especially beloved at the Indy 500. While Ed wasn’t born in Indiana, he has adopted it as his home, going to school and raising his family there.
