“None of us know for sure what’s out there. That’s why we keep looking. Keep the faith. Travel hopefully. The universe will surprise you constantly.” - The Doctor
I don’t talk about it very often on this blog but I have a rare neuropathic condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. It causes me constant, debilitating full-body pain along with a host of other symptoms that affect every aspect of my life.
I got sick when I was 9 years old. I am 25 now and over the years my condition has deteriorated. I’ve developed several comorbidities which in combination have become life threatening.
In 2021 I was admitted to hospice. I was only able to make it through with the support of my friends who found new treatment options and set up a fundraiser for me. I’m beginning another round of treatment soon and with your help I will be able to afford the care I need during this lengthy recovery process.
These last few years have been the hardest of my life, but also the most hopeful. This disease has taken so much from me but I refuse to give up. I know I have a future, I just need help getting there.
You can learn more about my story here:

You can help by donating, reblogging this post and sharing my fundraiser. Every bit helps!!!

did you know that i have a patreon you can subscribe to for as little as $2 a month?
⭐️ patreon.com/lalalychee ⭐️
you'll get to see work-in-progresses of all of my paintings that are posted nowhere else (such as the painting wip in this post), and you can ask for in-depth art advice to your heart's content ❤️ i also post makeup tutorials, vlogs, and anything else you feel inclined to request!
i am physically disabled with a very severe and rare disease called CRPS (aptly nicknamed the suicide disease because it is so horrific), and subscribing to my patreon helps me pay for my neverending medical bills. ideally i would one day no longer have to work a desk job at all and be able to rely solely on patreon and art so that i can operate on a schedule that works with my pain levels better, so this is a really important way to support me.
sharing this post to help get the word out is also so appreciated ❤️ thank you

Today is #GivingTuesday!
As most of you know I am fundraising to receive life saving ketamine infusions at a clinic in Florida to treat my Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. I cannot tell you how blessed and grateful I am to have this opportunity. There is so little research on CRPS that for years I had no hope of any treatment or symptom management. This disease ate up my life, a life which I now have the chance to get back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To celebrate Giving Tuesday I want to share 5 things I'm excited to do after treatment:
5. Make more art - This is something that I already do, but with great difficulty. Sculpting and painting are my two favourite forms of visual art but are especially exhausting. I want to pursue my inspiration uninhibited and be able to fully express my creative vision!
4. Interact with nature - Nature has been a huge part of my mental, physical and spiritual healing. I feel most myself when I am deep in nature, but this is difficult for me because forests aren’t very wheelchair accessible. I dream of hiking, swimming, climbing, gardening, exploring this beautiful earth in every way I can.
3. Go back to school - I had to drop out of school in grade 12 because I was too sick to keep up, even with alternate education. I loved school and I love to learn. I want to finish high school and go to university to study film, visual art and writing.
2. Make movies - I am a filmmaker and have been since I first watched a movie. My love for film is my most consistent passion and driving force. I am an artist and a storyteller and I have so much to share with the world!
1. Be myself! - I want to figure out who I am and be that person with my whole heart. I got sick so young that I never had the opportunity to explore myself as an individual human being. I’ve learned so much about myself over the last year and I know there is so much of me left to discover once I am given the chance.

By supporting my fundraiser, whether through donation or sharing, you are helping me live the life I have only dreamed of. For that I am endlessly thankful.

Do you ever have to talk to a doctor or someone, kind of proffesional like, and they say somthing along the lines of, you're so awfully young too and then list of everything you can't do because of pain and illness, and then you have to stop yourself from crying ......
Cause yeah me neither

i have been having terrible anxiety about the upcoming fall and winter because my crps has gotten to the point where it feels so unbearable to wear pants; i have to wear shorts all the time. my new job is not a wfh job, so i won't be able to just wander around in shorts, and especially not when it gets cold. so i decided to start redesigning some of my pants to touch my bad leg less in the most affected areas! ⭐️ here's my first attempt at something that is comfortable but still (hopefully) looks cute and intentional.

being a disabled addict whose disability was partly caused by drug use is weird. the thing that can most effectively treat my condition is the thing that had a big part in causing it. plus I can't even use the thing that will treat it (well I can but I'm not gonna go there. I'd rather be in pain than in active addiction) because my DOC was the exact medication that would be prescribed.
