Is most country like Britain or former parts of the British Empire (which I sometimes forget includes the United States), blue represents the more ring-wing/conservative leaning party and red is for the more left-wing/liberal leaning part, but an exception being America and wondering how come?

Great question!

This is actually a recent phenomenon in American politics.

The U.S didn't traditionally have a stable color-coding system for much of its history, in part because American party systems had a very different history that was ideologically distinct from the socialist vs. liberal vs. conservative European model. However, to the extent that there was a color-coding tendency, it was that Republicans were often blue (because of the Union Army's uniforms) and Democrats were often red (because of red-baiting).

However for the 2000 Presidential Election, for some reason all of the networks adopted Democratic = Blue, Republican = Red for their election night coverage and it stuck and now we have this whole concept of "red states" and "blue states" that the rest of the world finds very confusing.

Many critics of these protests in Western establishments have dismissed them as far-right conspiracies against liberal democracy because right-wing extremists have often sought to exploit them for political purposes. Other critics dismiss the truckers and farmers as pampered special interests, whining about the withdrawal of unjustified subsidies or objecting to perfectly reasonable regulations. When they are not neo-Nazis, much of the establishment would have us believe, the mutinous farmers and truckers are merely corrupt “crony capitalists.”

But there have been far-right extremists and fuel and agriculture subsidies for generations. Only factors unique to the present conjuncture can explain these similar and near-simultaneous uprisings. One factor is the commitment of Euro-American elites to impose a costly transition away from fossil fuels, regardless of the price. The other is the difficulty of achieving successful workplace strikes in an era of offshored manufacturing and decentralized, small-scale service firms compared with truck and car blockades that can shut down whole national economies. The truck or tractor convoy may replace the picket line as the symbol of class conflict in the deindustrialized nations of the West.

Kinda tired of people thinking that somehow the allies actually cared about the Jews and that’s why they helped to liberate them during WWII then force the colonization of Palestine to create the new country of Israel. That’s all bullshit.

1933, Hitler takes control of Germany and the attacks on the German Jews began. That same year the first concentration camp Dachau was created and laws targeting Jews were being enacted. These laws started by targeting their citizenships, their businesses, burned books, essentially erasing them from German history, stripping them of their rights as citizens. They also targeted other “undesirables,” and instituted forced sterilizations or castrations for disabled people and criminals. Through September 1939, activities mostly contained to Germany & Austria.

October 1939, first ghetto created in Poland, thus beginning the start of uprooting Jews for future termination. 1939 is also when Britain and France declare war on Germany because the Nazi’s have now breached the borders of Germany. July 1940 is the start of Nazi’s attacks on Britain and other surrounding countries. 1941 Jews are being taken from the ghettos to camps. Final solution begins.

FOR 6 YEARS, between 1933 and 1939 the Jews in Germany were being targeted with ever increasing threat by the Nazi’s for ethnic cleansing as non-aryans and no other country lifted a finger. It wasn’t until they were attacked when Britain, France and the other surrounding countries started fighting back. They joined the war not to save the Jews but to save their countries from Germany. 1941 Japan declared war on the United States and attacked Pearl Harbor. It’s wasn’t until attacked when the US agreed to join the war effort, again nothing to do with saving the Jews.

If Germany had stayed their asses in their own borders, the other countries wouldn’t have lifted a finger.

Of course, while there, the allies liberated the German prisoners including the Jews, but stop touting that they stepped in because of them. The allies are heroes for what they did, not for altruistic reasons, but for self-serving reasons. Honor the actual soldiers that put their lives on the line, but don’t politicize it and give the countries any credit.

The German Nazi’s targeted “undesirables,” torturing and killing with the goal of getting rid of them because non-aryans were considered inferior. They also wanted to conquer more lands from the surrounding countries to expand their control. Germany started attacking the countries they thought they could capture.

The Israelites are targeting “undesirables,” torturing and killing with the goal of getting rid of them because non-Jews are considered inferior. They also want to conquer more land from the surrounding areas to expand their control. Israel has broken the border treaty since its inception in their efforts to take away more land from Palestine than they already were given. They have also been picking fights with surrounding middle eastern countries.

Why were the Nazi’s considered evil and the Israelites are not?

What is happening in Gaza should be a warning to the Middle East, that if Israel is allowed to continue their push into Palestine, they will be next. History and research has shown men continually given power become drunk with it and will do everything they can to keep control over it. Challenging them will evoke violent responses. If the world wants to stop this from escalating, they need to shut down Israel’s actions now. The United States and other allies also need to take responsibility for creating this monster. The US is like Italy and UK is like Japan from WWII. The allies will become the axis powers this time.

There’s two alternative myths regarding Medusa (149). The Roman version is the version that we commonly know. Neptune being married to Athene (2, 881) rapes Medusa and then Athena going after Medusa, eventually killing her mounting her head to a shield blah blah blah.

In the Greek version, Medusa makes an oath of celibacy and to be a nun. She later falls in love with Neptune/Poseidon (4341) and Athena (2, 881) goes to punish her for breaking her oath.

(Yes, for the unaware: I have a bachelor's degree in international business. if trc was a visual medium and I was a tiktoker i would go insane talking about quiet luxury and how Declan and Adam both fall into this position of people with OBJECTIVELY less money compared to their peers and how both of them are trying to replicate luxury (ie: clothing=persona/identity) to varying levels of success. adam wears old gifts from the ganseys and declan is very clearly called out by other characters to be overcompensating. neither are fully seamless and even though thats not an overt plot point it is DEFINITELY very significant since plenty of their story beats echo each other down to their relationship with ronan, who is a different fashion debate (eg. how punk can you get off of a bank account you dont need to look at and a shaved head which needs to be constantly maintained and a BMW you stole w no repurcussion). again I DO think stief implies fascinating plot points that she doesn't focus on but her display of class and economic variation is very very cool & obviously people w more context of specific USAmerican culture can have this debate better than I can

We know people are inexplicably drawn to Buggy the clown and in a very intense way. Not to mention accidental.

There is something about Buggy, that makes hundreds of dudes to worship him even if he doesn't like it.

He is a mediocre pirate (when compared to others), and yet his crew is devasted every time they lose him.

And remember what happened with Gaimon?

They were drinking buddies one night and the next day they exchanged farewells in thr most dramatic way possible. Ajd all of this makes me wonder:

Does it affect Buggy too?

Is it as easy for him to get attached to people as they draw to him?

My semi-educated guess is yes. He is so intense, it only makes sense.

After all, he cried along with his crew when they got reunited. He said goodbye to Gaimon as if they were lifelong friends , and most curiously, he can't let Shanks go.

Even if he hates him, it's obvious he got so attached to him (because they were crew mates, or because they were the same age, or the only boys on boat, whatever the reason might be), that he keeps bringing him back at the smallest provocation.

Buggy is so intense, and he gets attatched so hard that if you upset him once, he is gonna hold on that forever, but also there is a high chance that if you get to hang out with him and know him more personally (I will exclude his followers and fans), he would care about you as much as you care about him.

Or hate you forever if you cross him.

gotta say, i do not like how lately i've been seeing posts from people who use a person having colorfully dyed hair as a sort of shorthand for "leftist who is actually secretly an asshole." like people making comments like "the girl with blue hair and perfect eyeliner wings is also the one who won't give up their seat for a disabled person on the bus". like we already have to deal with the right-wing fascists using "blue hair and pronouns" as a shorthand for "leftist (trans) person who is insufferable and oversensitive", can we please not turn brightly colored hair into a caricature in leftist circles as well. having brightly dyed hair is not some magic symbol of "person who claims to be a leftist but is actually secretly an asshole". it is a morally neutral trait. and while i'm not discounting anyone's experience with someone with brightly dyed hair who treated them badly, i think that turning it into some kind of shorthand for "asshole" is just going to ultimately hurt us more than it's going to help.

Role-reversal AU where Machete opens a library on Florence and slowly becomes a very influencial local political figure, while Vasco's parents become fed-up with his "lifestyle" and send him away to the clergy (he probably has a brother in this AU, to make their decision more believable)

They reconnect in a similar way to the original, but their relationship is much more tragic as Vasco became self-hating and thinks he corrupted/doomed Machete in their youth and meanwhile, this Machete is trying to protect him from the corrupted side of the Church and possible assassination plot, that he's too indoctrinated to see happening around him

A interesting ending for this AU should be that Machete still dies, but results in Vasco finally running away from the clergy/inquisition (not sure if Vasco joins the inquisition or not, you can decide) and hiding in the country-side. Where he grows old dedicating various paintings and poems to Machete and possibly taking care of some noble's horses for a living
