It was an honor for us from @attconnecticut and @korebjjassociation to host a @sayockali workshop with Tuhon Tom Kier @kier.thomas. Practical, effective, and high percentage techniques that helped not only the veterans in this style but also many students that are now integrating striking, grappling, blades, and firearms in their training. Our mission is to make our members more capable, with multiple skills, following our Bushido standards. Thank you again TTK for the visit and opportunity. #sayockali #sayoctacticalgroup #combatives #striking #grappling #wrestling #integration (at American Top Team Connecticut) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpdgThjJssd/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
World War 2 Office of Strategic Services Smatchet Designed by William E. Fairbairn Smatchet measures 16 3/8" overall. The blade itself measures 11 1/8" w/ parkerized finish. A Smatchet is a short, heavy fighting knife/sword 16.5 inches (42 cm) in overall length (including grip). It was designed by knife fighting expert and instructor Capt. William E. Fairbairn during World War II. Though described in the Office of Strategic Services catalogue as a cross between a machete and a bolo, it was actually based on the Royal Welch Fusiliers Trench Knife of World War I, and was designed as a pure combat knife. It has a broad, leaf-shaped blade sharpened the full length on one side, and from the tip to half of the other side. The entire blade is coated with a dull matte finish to prevent detection at night from stray reflections. According to Fairbairn, the Smatchet was an ideal close-combat weapon for those not armed with a rifle. The psychological reaction of any man, when he first takes the smatchet in his hand is full justification for its recommendation as a fighting weapon. He will immediately register all the essential qualities of good soldier - confidence, determination, and aggressiveness. Its balance, weight and killing power, with the point, edge or pommel, combined with the extremely simple training necessary to become efficient in its use, make it the ideal personal weapon for all those not armed with a rifle and bayonet. The Smatchet was used by British and American special forces (Special Air Service and Office of Strategic Services, respectively) during World War II. In the late 1980s, Col. Rex Applegate licensed a modified version of the smatchet he and Fairbairn designed late in World War II. He called it the "Applegate-Fairbairn Combat Smatchet". https://sword-site.com/thread/1068/ww2-smatchet-designed-william-fairbairn #knives #knife #knifephotography #battle #prep #bugout #combatives #mma #gun #steel #fights #fight #punch Sources: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smatchet www.ebay.com https://www.instagram.com/p/CngdGmgrStG/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

this comic was brought to you by (1) my mom insisting we need to watch the 1989 tim burton batman and (2) me wondering why on god's green earth they got prince to do the music. and for the record i fucking love prince (and grew up listening to him), i just would not in a million years think to make that connection on my own. anyway please listen to Erotic City it's a good tune
Thank you to the students that continue to make this happen. I am beyond humbled and appreciative. Myself and others in the industry have kept 2023 prices as low as possible (les than $70 increase) to combat travel, shipping, range and ammo increases and to stay aligned with GSA pricing for our gov/mil students. Analytics show multiple sellouts within the normal time and the new ranges added this year have many waiting to purchase. Curriculum changes to increase speed and accuracy have been well received proven to work on every level. Surprises for 2023 are already being implemented now, will be in class descriptions and directly related to modern events. These changes are needed for many. Again, thanks for letting me do this…….I love it! #2023 #defoor #carbine #defoorproformanceshooting #pistol #kd4 #scoped #nods #combatives #blade https://www.instagram.com/p/CgRV-lROsuf/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
