Sophie Turner and Dane DeHaan will star in crime thriller "Wardriver"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dane DeHaan, recently cast in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming Oppenheimer, and Game of Thrones and X-Men: Dark Phoenix star Sophie Turner are to lead the upcoming crime thriller Wardriver, a splashy new addition to Berlin’s virtual European Film Market (EFM).
Written and directed by Daniel Casey — best known for penning F9: The Fast Saga but whose credits also include Liongate’s Kin — the film is due to start principal photography this summer in Los Angeles.
Wardriver follows a brilliant, tech-savvy thief called Cole (DeHaan) who has a highly specialized skillset and uses it to commit robberies from his laptop. When Oscar, a criminal with a dangerous past, discovers Cole’s unique talents, he forces him to hack into the bank account of the young, seemingly wealthy Sarah (Turner) and empty it of nearly a million dollars. Cole soon discovers that a powerful, mob-connected lawyer has been using Sarah to hide his money. Seeking to bail her out of danger, Cole initiates a plan to replace the stolen money and begins to fall for Sarah. Ignoring warning signs that something greater is amiss, Cole soon finds himself pulled into an elaborate web of lies, deceit and betrayal.
“I’m beyond excited to be working with Dane DeHaan and Sophie Turner on Wardriver,” said Casey. “Both are incredible performers and gifted, talented artists in the truest sense. I know I speak not only for myself but also for the amazing teams at Star Thrower Entertainment and Highland Film Group in saying that I can’t wait to see them bring the roles of Cole and Sarah to life.”
Before Wardriver, both DeHaan and Turner are appearing together in the HBO Max miniseries The Staircase, based on the 2004 French true-crime docuseries.
“We could not be more excited to have Dane and Sophie team up for this hacking thriller from the superb writer behind the box-office behemoth F9: The Fast Saga,” said Highland Film Group CEO Arianne Fraser.
“Daniel Casey has crafted a brilliant story, chock full of suspense and intrigue. We are thrilled to be working with this talented filmmaker and can’t wait to see the cameras roll next spring,” added Highland COO Delphine Perrier.

Cole Sprouse talks Five Feet Apart, singing on-screen and Riverdale season 4
PopBuzz: One thing that surprised me about the film was how it’s so heartbreaking and yet so hopeful at the same time. It felt so different to other films that fit in the same genre. Was that something you guys wanted to make sure you got across? To show the light?
Cole Sprouse: Yeah I mean, first off, I think Justin's mission statement, our director, was always one of hope and the job for Haley and I was to try and shave off the natural romanticising that takes place within that genre into something that felt a little more grounded and honest for the characters. But the interpretive ending allowed us to have the audience sort of decide what they felt happened to the characters. I think Justin was in the mind that if you're gonna do a movie that hopefully is going to be viewed by the cystic fibrosis community, then the message we wanna give to them is one of hope, not necessarily one that felt on the darker side of that narrative.
PB: This is the first movie you’ve done in a long time. What was it about this film, and the role of Will in particular, that drew you back in?
CS: Well, I was pretty hesitant at first. And I think that's because this genre has the potential to do a lot of damage if it's sort of represented incorrectly. At the end of the day, it was really after I met with Justin and finding out how passionate he was about the cystic fibrosis community and the mission statement being one of hope that that kind of put all my trepidations to rest. In terms of career trajectory? To be honest, I've had that question a lot and I wish I'd been thinking about it. I wanted to work during the hiatus on Riverdale and this lined up perfectly with it. It just seemed like a good move at the time.
PB: I know you’ve spoken about the immense responsibility of telling the story of such a heavily underrepresented community, how much preparation did you undergo for the role? I know you said that physically it was a challenge for you as well.
CS: Yeah, we had the luxury of about a month and a half of prep and research, alongside the advice of actual patients with cystic fibrosis and medical professionals. With their advice, I had a physical regimen to get me into the kind of shape or image of a cystic fibrosis patient. And then of course they gave us a lot of time to understand the psychology of grappling with your mortality at a very young age and how that effects social foundation and relationship building.
PB: The reaction to the film on social media has been incredible so far. Has anyone from the community reached out to you about it yet? And what did they say?
CS: We got a lot of really really positive feedback from the CF community, it's very validating. Ultimately, you know, they're why we made the movie so their acceptance is the currency of the success in my opinion and I think that's been really reassuring. Before the movie had come out, there was a lot of fear that it would misrepresent the community or would do damage to the representation through the sheer notion of romance or encourage a dangerous sort of connection. But the community has been really really responsive to the representation that we have. Yeah, so really reassuring.
PB: That's amazing to hear. The film has such an incredible cast with Haley - who is brilliant - and of course, your little Disney Channel reunion with Moises Arias. How was it working with the two of them? You guys seemed to have such a great dynamic on-screen.
CS: Yeah, I think Haley and I kind of had the same idea of how we wanted to play the characters, which was way more grounded in realism than what could have been the kind of overacting that often comes within that genre. And we got along really well! It's one of those things were you roll the dice, you can have chemistry and you can try to do as much as possible, but you don't really know how the work environment is going to be alongside your co-stars until you're there. And we were lucky enough to have gotten a good roll on the dice and really get along quite well! Haley's talented, she's also a very giving actress - and I act in a very similar way. So, we both cared a lot. Considering the kind of content we were grappling with, we were able to validate one another.
PB: Well, speaking about the emotional heaviness of the script and the subject, how did you guys combat that on set? I just saw that you and Haley went on a strip club tour... which is amazing.
CS: We did!
PB: How else did you keep your spirits up?
CS: To be quite honest, when we were on set, there was a responsibility and an emotional continuity that we needed to keep in order to stay in it. And I'm of the mind that it's better not to take from that. Toward the end of production, we were able to loosen up a little bit after the more emotional scenes had taken place and we had finished those and moved onto the last week of the production cycle. We were able to let go a little bit. In terms of levity, we really didn't allow ourselves to fall into too much levity. To be honest, it felt kind of inappropriate to detach from that. But New Orleans is an incredibly vibrant and wonderful city with wonderful food and great drinking. A really great nightlife! And more bachelor and bachelorette parties than I have ever seen in my life.
PB: I bet!
CS: So it was fun to kind of get lost in that crowd.
PB: One of my favourite parts of the film is the scene where Will sings to Stella and it’s so great that I get to talk to you now because of course, in the musical episode of Riverdale, you sing! And it's incredible!
CS: Thanks!
PB: Previously, you said that it would take a lot for someone to get you to sing and now you’ve sung twice. What made you finally say, “yeah, I’m gonna do it”?
CS: To be honest, I think I was mis-quoted the first time I said that. What I actually said when I said I wouldn't sing is that, Disney Channel was asking me and my brother to drop an album for very many years. And that's what we didn't wanna do. I mean, I've sung on The Suite Life, I've sung on a couple other projects and you know, when it's in character, it's not a problem for me. When it's 'Cole Sprouse singing,' it becomes very strange and vulnerable. It's just a matter of making sense for the character in the moment. For Will, it was a matter of comforting Stella in the same way that she had been comforted and trying to bring a little joy to something incredibly frightening - like surgery. And for Jughead, it was a moment of incredible vulnerability and really a tragedy that kind of fit perfectly to the narrative.
PB: Yeah. Like you just said, it depends on the character but let’s say Jughead decided to let it all go for a night and get involved with karaoke at La Bonne Nuit... What’s the one song you do think he would get up and sing?
CS: Oh, man... you know that angsty emo kid would sing some Avenged Sevenfold or Panic! At The Disco. Something incredibly emo.
PB: Maybe a slam poetry version?!
CS: Oh, of course! He'd be the guy in like, the top hat and all the bracelets looking like an amateur musician doing slam poetry.
PB: Love it! So what's happening next for you? Hiatus is coming up, you're still working on Riverdale now, you've got your photography, anything else lined up? Any other acting gigs?
CS: Yeah! I have one little project that I can't speak too much about lined up for the hiatus. I'd like to manoeuvre my way through the film thing where I'd like to do at least one film a year and it be of a more artistic calibre than a kind of commercial one. I've done Five Feet Apart and it was a commercial project, Riverdale is such a mainstream project that I'd like to live within the independent life for a bit. And then, a lot of photography! Honestly, I haven't stopped working for the last 3 years. So in the event I just sit on the couch for the whole time, I think that would be a welcome relaxation at this point.
PB: Absolutely! My last question, I hope you don’t mind, it’s about Riverdale…
CS: Sure!
PB: We’re winding down toward the end of season 3, there's been some huge shockwaves being sent through Jughead’s home life with his mum right now. Where do you want to see Jughead’s story go in season 4? Because he's changed so much. What do you think is ahead for him?
CS: I think when Riverdale is at its strongest it's about the characters, their dynamics, their personal narratives and their relationships with one another. And I think Jughead asking himself how his family has affected him is what I'd kind of like to see. But I also think I'd love to see a Jughead that feels kind of like a season one Jughead, which is much more of a quiet sort of monologue side. I think there's a lot of potential and a lot of interesting narratives this season in the form of FP and Jughead teaming up and playing the True Detective crime investigator father/son duo. I think there's something really enjoyable about Jughead being the brain and FP being the brawn of that investigation. That's something I'd personally like to see going into season 4.
PB: And I mean, seeing as you’re finally showing off those vocals how about a lead in the next musical episode?
CS: Ha! Oh man, I'm not trying to trying to grease any wheels on that - if it makes sense for the character, it makes sense for the character. But I could spent the rest of my life not singing on screen and being totally content with that.
PB: You were fantastic in the musical episode!
CS: Oh, I appreciate that.
PB: It really was a lovely moment between Betty and Jughead, and so nice to watch.
CS: Yeah, I think that's a really pretty scene and I'm glad it turned out that way.

Keeps the Family Photography Tradition Alive in New Exhibition
Liverpool Echo -- May 28, 2013; By Paddy Shennan
Photographer enjoys following in mum Linda and uncle Mike's footsteps
Life doesn’t get much better than this. I am sitting in a room surrounded by extraordinarily talented women. Madonna, Marianne Faithfull, Helen Mirren, Gwyneth Paltrow, Björk, Chrissie Hynde and many others are just yards away. And it isn’t just talented and famous women – just around the corner, for example, the marvellous Morrissey is grabbing people’s attention. It’s a feast for the eyes and, even better, I am sitting alongside the supremely-gifted woman who made all this possible – photographer Mary McCartney.
We are here – all of us, in some form or other – at The Lowry in Salford, for the stunning exhibition Developing: Photographs by Mary McCartney.
Many of the brilliant large-scale images featuring those already mentioned, as well as many others, not least Mary’s sister, Stella, and their late mum, Linda, are dedicated to “The Radical Woman.”
Photography doesn’t run in the McCartney family, it gallops. Linda was a renowned photographer, Mary’s Merseyside-based uncle Mike has been putting people (including Lennon and “our kid”) in the frame since he was a young man, Stella’s life as a top fashion designer goes hand-in-hand with photography – and dad is pretty keen on it, too.
Mary says: “I grew up around photography (a picture taken by Linda of Mary as a baby, being held inside dad’s jacket, adorns the sleeve of Paul’s 1970 debut solo album, McCartney). Mum and dad were always into candid, beautiful photography."
“But I never ever thought I’d be a photographer. It wasn’t until my early 20s that I really picked up a camera. I went into my mum’s archive when she asked me to help her with a book and that inspired me. Also, one of my best friends, Teresa Armitage, who worked on the Hillsborough charity single, inspired me – by showing me her holiday snaps!”
Discussing the photographs all around us, Mary says: “There is a kind of connection between me and the sitter.” But today Mary is the sitter, and there is an instant connection between her and ECHO photographer Andy Teebay as, immediately after being introduced, they talk cameras for a few minutes.
Mary, meanwhile, will naturally have had countless camera conversations with her family, including, of course, dad Paul – one of the most photographed men on the planet.
He’s not in this exhibition, but Mary says: “I took pictures of him recently for his new tour and for his album Kisses On The Bottom. It is a little intimidating, for two reasons. One, because he has been photographed by some of the most amazing photographers and two, because he’s my dad and so I feel an extra responsibility – I want him to like the photographs.
“But he’s great. He’s got a really playful energy and often starts messing around. He likes spontaneity and I always get something that wasn’t planned – and I like that. He’s interested in photography and my mum was a professional photographer when they met. They would talk about photography and she introduced him to lots of her gallery and fine art photography.”
She adds: “My mum had a way of putting people instantly at ease. She would just be hanging out with you and would take a quick photo – she wouldn’t put the camera in your face.”
Uncle Mike, meanwhile, is always observing and always taking pictures: “He’s an inspiration. Whenever we are together he’s got his camera with him. I like that kind of photography. He’s always fresh and interested and smiling.”
Mary may have been born in London, but she travelled the world from an early age and had parents who were so proud of their roots – and she recalls: “If people asked me I’d say I was half Liverpudlian and half American. My accent used to be a bit of a weird mix.
“We would come up to Merseyside for New Year and stop off in the summer on our way to Scotland. I just love the warm atmosphere in Liverpool and I love the family element to it. It’s beautiful, too. I came up recently to do some photography on the film about (Irish philanthropist) Christina Noble, looked at the blue sky and wonderful architecture and thought ‘Why don’t I come here all the time?’”
This is a woman who was taken on Beatle tours from an early age – by a Beatle!
She reveals: “Yes, dad would drive us round. We’d been in the car for six hours and he would say ‘I’m just doing a tiny detour – this is where I used to live’. He would say ‘Do you understand how many people would love to be shown around by a Beatle?’ – but we just wanted to get home and watch TV! It was like when we were telling him to stop playing the guitar when we were watching the telly.”
Hang on – you told Paul McCartney, the real-life former Beatle, to stop playing the guitar?!
Mary laughs and says: “That’s what he would say! And we’d reply ‘Get over it!’ Now I appreciate it, but it’s different when you’re in your early teens. It was similar with my mum’s photography. She was always taking pictures and in a way you dismissed it when you were younger. The amount of pictures she took from a car window... she would get these amazing shots – but when I tried later I missed them!”
All the time we talk, I can feel the eyes of Mary’s sitters on me – and she says: “The subjects are so interesting and they were interesting situations to be in. For example, to take the Duchess of Devonshire’s photograph I got to go to Chatsworth in Derbyshire, while I photographed Lily Cole on a horse outside St Pancras station. They are all like little adventures. And it’s great that all these photographs have been brought together in one exhibition because it reminds me of how many amazing people I’ve met.”
And does there need to be a certain chemistry between you? “Chemistry is quite important because if there isn’t any it can be a bit bland,” says Mary. “The worst thing would be if the sitter had no interest in being there, but I have been quite lucky.”
This is obvious from the evidence all around us.
“It’s a team effort,” stresses Mary. “And I try not to make it too gruelling. I try to set up a nice environment, use nice locations and I like to keep moving.”
It’s naturally difficult for Mary to pick a favourite photograph, but she says: “I love PJ Harvey and I love Helen Mirren, because that was one of the first I took (in 1998). And I love the one of Chrissie Hynde because it’s a bit quirky – she’s lying on the floor in a designer suit next to her cat. And with my Royal Ballet project I immersed myself in their world.”
It strikes Andy and me that Mary’s photographs would look great on the walls of a Liverpool gallery. “I’ve not been asked but there would be a chance of bringing it to Liverpool,” she says. Come on, somebody, ask her. And you could bring your dad, Mary – he’d be able to take you on another Beatle tour!
Developing: Photographs by Mary McCartney is at The Lowry in Salford until Sunday June 9.

So, after what feels like forever I think I’m starting to feel normal again. If normal is even a thing. Months and months of feeling like the air I was breathing was thick, like even finding the motivation to be excited about anything was hard. Feeling like I was going backwards rather than forwards, like nobody would understand so why even try to explain it, to not even want to post a stupid blog post about it because it looks like attention seeking, my usual way of worrying what everyone thinks. But when it comes down to it, this is more for me than anyone else, since only a handful of people I know are even on tumblr. It gives me some sad sense of accomplishment to be able to click back in and read my own optimistic words. After making the horrid decision to let Zulus move on in his life, to be with someone who could give him the time, confidence and experience he desperately needed to continue to be the brilliant horse he always will be, I thought maybe I’d made things worse, I’d removed the structure I so desperately relied on in my day to day life. I’d removed the one interesting thing about myself, I’d made myself smaller. Then I met Cole, a friends horse who within a few short weeks managed to restore the confidence I’d lost, bring light back into the sport I loved. But of course it would be too easy if that was how things ended, due to a number of unfortunate factors, Cole is currently a bit poorly and won’t be jumping any clear rounds for quite some time. Because of that the last month or so has really felt a little empty, so I’ve decided to get my photography hat back on! Get out and get involved in the things I love, ride other horses, take pictures of all my friends riding, the country I love, the cities, the countryside, dogs, horses, everything! It’s not a brilliant personality trait but i need to be involved, to be at the centre of something I feel matters. And that’s how I plan to do it, well I already have been doing so (hence a few of the attached images) but there’s a lot more where those came from. I suppose it’s been radio silence from me, for a lot of people, I’ve been a bit neglectful for the most part, aside from essentially smothering my sister with my pathetic need to feel like I matter. But things are getting better, and I’m sure they’ll continue to improve. Because I’m in charge of how things go, It’s up to me to make things better for me.

illusion Research
Cole Fischman
Cole is an extremely underrated photo manipulation photographer. He is also a 20 year old self taught visual artist. His skills with photoshop and lightroom have really inspired me to create similari mages with his “style”.
Tumblr media
I really love Cole’s images as he uses a lot of orange and teal tones in his photos which is similar to my colour palette. His style is also very mordern compared to most other manipulation photographers. In the image below, i think it as an unsettiling vibe to it. The orange/red balloon adds a sort of “Penny-wiise” feeling to this image. I like this because it adds a sense of story for the viewer.
Tumblr media
Tommy Ingberg
Tommy Ingberg is a multi-award winning photographer and visual artist. He was born 1980 in Sweden. He works with photography and digital image editing to create minimalistic and self-reflecting surreal photo montages dealing with human nature, feelings and thoughts. His work is represented in collections all over the world, from the National Museum of Photography in Colombia and the Bibliothèque nationale de France in Paris. During the last eight years his work has won over 30 international awards.
Tumblr media
Tommy’s work has such an “old fashioned” style, almost like his photos were taken in early1900. His manipulation photography is really interesting and quite a mystery. His images also have a dark melancholic look. I like these images due to the simplicity that Tommy has created. I really like the composition in the image above, it is simple but still interesting. I also like the black and white contrast beause I think it puts a moody atmosphere into the image. The two images also creates an unsettiling tone or vibe. Overall I really like the style of Tommy’s work.
Tumblr media
Erik Johansson
Erik Johansson was born 1985. He is a photographer and visual artist from Sweden based in Prague, Czech Republic. His work can be described as surreal world created by combining different images. Erik works on both personal and commissioned projects with exhibitions and clients all around the world. within Erik’s photography the focus is on the story and the goal is to make it look as realistic as possible even if the scene itself contains impossible elements/events.
Tumblr media
An obvious choice for this research but his photography is remarkable. Johansson’s skill in creating illusion images is phenomenal, and his photoshop skills are exceptionally good. Erik is a photographer as much as a retoucher which allows him to create anything you can imagine. The reasoning to me liking Erik’s images is his creativity. Every imahes has a different “story” and Erik’s imagination turned into real images is amazing. In the background of the image above, the electric guitar almost blends within the image. I only noticed it was surreal when i looked at the image for longer than 10 seconds. The metal strings from the guitar contrast really well into the power lines, making it look like the guitar actually fits into the scene.
Tumblr media
Dariusz Klimczak
A polish photographer called Dariusz Klimczak composes dreamlike landscapes that show their surprise and weirdness. Dariusz Klimczak has been a professional photographer for 30 years, a few of which he spent creating photo manipulations. The artist prefers monochromatic (colours of a single hue.) images, where fantastic scenes look even more authentic and mystical at the same time when they’re black and white. The manipulations of the photographer's images open the door to his imaginative world where quirky characters bring a bleak desert to life. Everyday items contrast in odd compositions with animals or humans, conflicting with gravity and the other physical laws without which our common sense would collapse, Similar to Erik Johansson‘s work. His photos are surrealistic due to his artist montages. He says that the aim of his images is to use stories and universal symbols to move his viewers and force them to think or to simply crack a smile.
Tumblr media
These images remind me of Tommy Ingberg’s style. They’re similar in a sense but still have their uniqueness. Dariusz’s images give off a very vintage look/mood. His work seems to inspire the atmosphere of the vast deserts in his photos, as do the stilt-walkers and other characters. These images seem to bend or break the laws of physics, but the fact that most of the images remain photo-realistic makes them all the more unsettling. I particularly liked the phone in the sand shot. The phones look like they represent “palm trees” dug into the sand. His work is really brilliant, unique, and innovative.
Tumblr media
Riccardo Bagnoli
Riccardo Bagnoli is and Advertising Photographer and Film Director based in Milan. He has great experience also in Lifestyle and Portrait Photography, in fact he often shot italian and foreign celebrities. Riccardo was born in Florence in 1963 on April Fool’s day.
Tumblr media
THe image above features surfers hatching from eggs, emphasising the coming out of the Sundek surf wear. i really like this image because it adds alot of mystery to the “characters” within the scene. i also like the moody look with the musty tones frmo the sand and mountain in the background. When looking at the second image the first thing that jumps out is the man breathing fire intothe big hot air balloon, due to the scale of it compared to everything else in the scene, he is shown to be at the foreground of the image, another thing that makes the subject stand out is the contrasting colours used like the dull, cold and moody background with the bright fire. I also believe that the cold and dull colours help to set a mood that contrasts the city below. I think that this image is showing excitement and fun.

Cole 45 Shirt
Having been thoroughly camp-ified Cole 45 Shirt . the fashion world is primed for some Gothification. Enter the Sissies of Mercy, the multimedia duo of Alban Adam and Jordan Hemingway, whose mission is to “bring Goth back from the dead.” Their resuscitation project started with a short film, Anatomy of Goth, released last year. Their first DJ gig was in January in Paris, where they performed at the birthday party of Aalto University and SSAW Magazine’s Tuomas Laitinen. Their friend Lauri Kopio “christened” the duo—real life Sisters of Mercy fans—with their brilliant moniker. Cole 45 Shirt, hoodie, sweater, longsleeve and ladies t-shirt

Classic Men's It’s genius Cole 45 Shirt . How has nobody thought of it before? Adam exclaims.) Having performed in Helsinki, the pair will be back on stage tonight in Milan, on the same lineup as dark electronic duo Vowws, who performed at Comme des Garçons’s Fall 2019 men’s show. What started as a sort of joke is quickly becoming a “thing.” Heck, they even have impressive merch, thanks to Heikki Saloneon of Vyner Articles, who is repped by Adam. At this point Sissies of Mercy are distinguished more for their puppy-like enthusiasm and infectious sense of fun than their technical skills, but with a tutor like fashion-fave Clara 3000, they’re sure to learn. Most important is that the music is part of who they are. “Alban,” says Hemingway, “has a historical knowledge of Gothic music and all the ins and outs of what was, and is, Goth music. And me, I’m a little more on the contemporary side.” The pair describe them selves as the old Goth and the young Goth. When Adam, a Frenchman now based in London, where he works as a communications and creative consultant, first got into the scene in the 1990s, Hemingway was enjoying his childhood in suburban New Jersey. “My parents were a bit punk. So punk to goth, it’s like one step away,” says Adam, who remembers trying not to get beaten up on his way to Goth parties back in the day. Hemingway, a Prince fan who made his way from being a metal head to a Goth, comes from a musical family, his father is a noted jazz drummer, and is now “bringing rock and roll to photography,” film, and his artistic development work with CDG. This event is presented as part of The in:VISIBLE Series at Gallery AWA
6:00pm Onwards Thursday April 18th 2019
John Lamont Ramsey spent 33 years in prison for a crime that he did not commit. With his legal team by his side, it was uncovered that the NYPD and Brooklyn District Attorneys office withheld exculpatory evidence during his trial that proved his innocence. After submitting a motion to overturn his conviction to clear his name, he remains focused on his justice that lingers in the balance and the time is now to launch a movement for us to be the voices of the wrongfully convicted to join the criminal justice reform.

ABOUT THE PANELISTS:
John Lamont Ramsey bio:
After serving thirty-three years in prison facilities in Update New York, John Ramsey was released in February 2015 to make his mark in this world as a visionary. During his incarceration, he decided to change his path in the most powerful way possible by helping others especially the youth inside and outside of the penal system. Through his work with adolescents over the years, he has strived to turn minds away from criminal activities and towards a brilliant future. Recently he created Liberty Investigation that takes on reviewing the cases of the wrongly convicted work closely with inmates and former offenders. In the near future, he plans to continue his work with youth that he did behind bars on the outside counseling at-risk and gang-affiliated youths through speaking at churches, community centers to continue his passion to make a difference.
Craig Phemister bio: www.napolilaw.com/
Mr. Phemister has been practicing law in New York since 1998. Since then, he has been fortunate enough to have handled several thousand cases and taken well over a hundred verdicts at trial.
Initially, his practice focused on personal injury but over the years, he began working on cases where people were claiming they were assaulted by the police, or wrongfully arrested and held against their will.
As time went on, Craig began seeing more and more of these cases until he had the eye-opening experience of seeing a judge in New York declare that a man who spent nearly 18 years of his life behind bars was “actually innocent”. The realization that our system was imperfect enough that someone can have 18 years of their life taken from them when they had nothing to do with the crime had a deep impact on his career.
Mr. Phemister began following stories and searching for people who claimed they were wrongfully convicted. He has been shocked to learn how often our investigation into these cases reveals evidence that was hidden from our clients at the time of their trial, or in several cases, witnesses who were coerced by detectives to identify our client, who have since come forward with the truth.
In any field of work, there are honest people and dishonest people – the same applies with police and law enforcement. Our work is to find their victims and ensure they have a voice to prove their innocence.

ABOUT THE MODERATOR:
Chanté Ramsey bio: www.vysynphotos.com | IG/FB/Twitter @vysynphotos
Chante Ramsey is an artist-entrepreneur with a passion to change the world! A self taught portraits and fashion photographer, she established her company, VySyn Photography in 2011 with a vision to show the world what a wonderful place it is one amazing human at a time whether capturing clients in her vibrant portrait shoots, NYFW inspired look book shoots or on the runway drive-by shots featuring the wearable artwork by local designers or those candid person to person moments in the streets of New York and beyond.
Her photography career began after the loss of her mother in 2005 to breast cancer at the age of 51. To escape her perpetual sadness and emptiness left behind from losing a parent after a tenuous battle, she used photography to fill that void. While working as co-founder of Synchronized Rhythm, a live performance cultural arts joint venture for underground artists in NYC, she fell in love with photography and began to build her portfolio. She has indulged her creative curiosity by constantly shooting the world around her and collaborating with other photographers on various projects to learn her craft. Her work has been featured at local venues including the Barbara Campbell boutique, Casa Frela Gallery, TeaFey Infusions, to name a few. And in Spring 2015 she launched her women’s photography initiative, the SHE Project, in tribute to the women in her life and in the memory of her mother. The SHE Project features women in her visual and podcast series who have found their purpose and are a living testament to the results of hard work and determination.
As she climbed her creative ladder, she soon attracted the interest of young burgeoning artists that she immediately took under her wing to mentor them through creative style coaching as well as a business resource giving them a few tips from establishing their photography business to connecting them to potential clients. Soon after that momentous experience, in 2016, she launched the Blueprint to Artistic Excellence, a nonprofit that seeks to provide robust training, professional coaching and entrepreneurial learning to youth ages 11-19 years old. Through her new path as a youth advocate, she explores varied approaches to teaching art and nurturing the artists within these youth as well as be that nurturing support that every young artist needs. Chante is a woman with a big heart and hopes to impact the masses whether through her art or through the art of the future artists that she interacts with. The imprint that she leaves behind will hopefully be one of seeking to live a fulfilled and happy life while showing compassion, empathy and love to everyone around her.
Case Timeline:
October 30, 1981: Murder of known drug trafficker, Vernon Green, by two robbers: Cole Coleman and a second suspect whom one witness under the influence named as “Ramsey”.
October 1981: Police investigation ensued. Initially, none of the witnesses prior to and at the murder scene identified the second defendant as John Ramsey. One of the witnesses spoke with the police department for the 2nd time and identified the defendant as the 2nd suspect though the witness admitted that he was under the influence of angel dust and marijuana.
December 1981: First defendant, Cole Coleman, was arrested for the murder of Vernon Green.
March 3, 1982: Second defendant, John Ramsey, was arrested for the murder of Vernon Green even after speaking with the ADA affirming that he didn’t know Vernon Green nor was he in the East Flatbush area at the time of the murder.
March 1982: During trial, no other alternative suspects were identified or interviewed nor did the defendant, John Ramsey, testify or provide witnesses to corroborate his whereabouts on the night of the murder. The jury returned a verdict of guilty of all three counts of the indictment. John Ramsey was sentenced to concurrent terms of imprisonment of 25 years to life for murder, seven and a half years for attempted robbery, and one year for possession of a weapon.
1982-2014: John Ramsey continued to proclaim his innocence then had to admit to the crime in order to have his release granted by the parole board.
February 2015: John Ramsey completed his prison sentence and was released on parole after serving 33 years.
2015: Cole Coleman’s arrest report was obtained. The report was never disclosed to defendant's counsel prior to his trial. The report revealed that the other person arrested the night of Vernon Green’s murder was DeWayne Coleman, Cole’s brother.
September 13, 2016: The Conviction Review Board (CRU) was notified of the undisclosed police report evidence.
June 15, 2018: The defendant, Cole Coleman, admitted in a meeting with CRU that John Ramsey was not at the scene of the crime and the police were aware of that. He admitted that his brother was with him at the robbery and murder of Vernon Green.
Present: Given the evidence and corroborating testimony years later by some of the witnesses supporting John Ramsey’s innocence, the CRU refuses to vacate/overturn his conviction.

Cole Sprouse, the boy has style
GQ asked the talent Cole Sprouse to play Dior's men's fashion
For those who spend even an hour a day on social media it is impossible not to have heard of Cole Sprouse. This is not the small Ben from Friends, nor the half of the duo Zack and Cody who from 2005 to 2011 dominated several Disney Channel productions. Because the Cole Sprouse re-emerged in 2016 with the Riverdale TV show, after years spent away from the spotlight in which NYU graduated in archeology, is a media phenomenon apart. He obviously grew up, but thanks to the study and the ability to keep his feet firmly on the ground, Cole developed a brilliant personality, a sharp humor, a refined charm and for nothing built that inevitably is also reflected in his relationship with fashion. Nearly 22 million people follow him on Instagram and 10 million on Twitter, the reason? Very little has to do with his personal life, since - like a fish out of water on social networks - he is very reserved. Instead it has to do with his humor and his thousand talents, from drawing to photography. In recent years he has shot for important international magazines, including W Magazine, L'Uomo Vogue and Teen Vogue and has also signed the Sunday Times cover photographing the top model of the moment Kendall Jenner.
And then, a bit like the other side of the coin of a generation of masculine-style icons with a thousand talents that also includes personalities like Timothée Chalamet and Harry Styles, Cole Sprouse has a gift: he is fine with everything, because the his character and his complex personality prevent him from disappearing even in the most eclectic clothes. Immortalized in these pages by Cameron McCool in Dior total look, it is clear that Cole's relationship with the big fashion brands is as solid as the one he has with the Converse tank top and shoes combination. Although his personal style is deeply inspired by workwear - lots of denim, utility jackets and lace-up ankle boots - he has never made any secret of being perfectly at ease even in impeccable tailored suits. Impossible to forget the elegance of the three-piece Thom Browne that he wore at the last MET Ball. Born in 1992, born in Arezzo, Italy, where, however, he has not spent even four months of life, Cole Sprouse boasts a career and a style that, unlike the days of baby celebrities, rubbed shoulders with his twin brother Dylan, today the they belong totally. In order not to miss anything, in March he will also return to the big screen with the romantic comedy Just A Baldy by Justin Baldoni.

A proper homie roll call is in order: two of my friends, My-hanh Lac and Sunshine Velasco are doing amazing things and these two brilliant queer women of color deserve a shout-out.
My’s film BUDAI debuted at the Brava Theater last Friday, a short docu-film on her experience as a young refugee from Vietnam. Twelve minutes on a captivating story, along with a gorgeous cinematography had me screaming for more! Also, her film is in Cannes!
Sunshine’s work on the other hand will be exhibited at the SOMArts Cultural Center on April 22nd, at a benefit for the art gallery. Pièce de RESISTance: A contemporary renaissance ball to support SOMArts will feature her photography on femmes, wherein a friend is also one of her subjects. Teju Cole has been on mind recently, as I sift through more photos from my last trip to the Philippines. I also finally opened another folder of photos from 2014, from another trip to the homeland.
I noticed that most of what I had taken with my camera weren’t “action shots” — not a lot of people or activities but instead, of minute details of the country’s everyday life. An empty soda bottle. A storefront. A row of dog bobbleheads. And for each photo, I can remember the exact moment from almost three years ago.
“…stillness, in photography, can be more affecting than action.”

Maybe it’s because I started this week with Teju, but it’s incredibly heartwarming to see my post from Sunday get so much love. Thank you to everyone who has read, shared, commented and written to me about Postcards from the Philippines. It’s still a work in progress. It gives me tremendous strength that in moments of grief, I am not alone.

It was an act of faith, and faith would not be faith if it was not hard, if it was not a test, if it was not an act of willful ignorance, of believing in something that can neither be predicted nor proved by any scientific metric.

I came across Viet’s piece on The Los Angeles Times wherein he talks about writing. This week, I wrote and published a book review on his newest book The Refugees.

Do’s and Don’ts of Outdoor Event Photography
There are many things which you need to do and don’t need to do when you take a Event Photography Orlando. In the open-air services and gatherings is all piece of the wonder of facilitating summer weddings. Another special reward? Outside wedding mixed drink hours. All things considered, is there anything better than tasting mixed drinks in the daylight? Simply envision the progress between your function and gathering one loaded up with new florals, a lot of normal light, hand fans, intuitive yard games, and custom bar arrangements!
Sounds marvelous, isn’t that so? In any case, there are a few rules and regulations of open-air wedding mixed drink hours you have to consider on the off chance that you need to get your visitors drinks and appetizers on your gathering grounds. Here are some innovative tips that will ensure a mixed drink hour all around spent.
Do’s for Event Photography Orlando:
“Try not to fear rising the bar for mixed drink hour, particularly if you are having your wedding throughout the mid-year,” recommends Britt Cole and Francie Dorman, originators of 42 North. An outside wedding mixed drink hour can immediately turn out to be hot, so consider conceal. “Here, we boosted the size of the tent by making a handcrafted round bar that completely folded over the middle shaft, permitting visitors to come into the tent and access the bar from any point,” they clarify.
“Do slip away for representations during mixed drink hour,” says Charlotte Jenks Lewis, proprietor of Charlotte Jenks Lewis, including, “It’s a pleasant time of the night to get some additional photos.” Strategize brilliant hour for your mixed drink hour, gathering for photographs loaded up with sparkling, dusk light.
Toast your extraordinary day with a themed mixed drink! “Try not to be hesitant to wander from conventional champagne and include an individual touch with a mark mixed drink highlight during your mixed drink hour,” recommends Demi Meeker, senior project lead at Cannon Green. A customized menu with a respect to recollections of your relationship—where you had your first date, a tribute to your old neighborhood—can add a paramount encounter to your wedding mixed drink hour.
“Summer soirées call for paper fans and cool mixed drinks to keep your visitors revived,” says Shannon Wellington, proprietor of Shannon Wellington Weddings. This pleasant summer wedding style thought can convert into a merry occasional structure that will help keep visitors cool, just as an indication of the season.
Dont’s for Event Photography Orlando: Professional Photographer Orlando
“On the off chance that the mixed drink hour is hung on grass, there is nothing more terrible than having your visitors maneuvering to be agreeable and loose,” says Brenda Babcock, proprietor of Brenda Babcock Celebrations. While concluding your mixed drink hour configuration, plan for a bounty of seating and separate parlor zones to ensure your visitors are agreeable in the middle of occasions.
There are unlimited approaches to offer visitors approaches to beat the late spring heat. Brooke Keegan, proprietor and innovative chief of Brooke Keegan Special Events, proposes couples set up presentations of parasols and chilled lavender towels to revive visitors. “These little contacts will leave an enduring impact on your visitors and set the pace for the remainder of the night!” she says.
