It was dawn with a light breeze and I could say it as a winter eve. I stood there looking at the watch nervous and waiting for the person as he approached me. It was the first time in months I went out with the person. As he approached, He winked and waved at me. I knew the trouble I was getting into with that damn smile.
I took a few long breaths to calm myself as I edged towards his arms for a friendly hug. We sat there for our favourite coffee conversations with a bunch of things to talk, but remained silent enjoying that comfort in nervousness. It was awkwardly comfortable sitting like that before one of us initiated the talk.
He led the move and started a conversation and I played the part being a good listener. It was quite a conversation over a long period of time. We shared a lot of things in common and yet we are different in our choices and creative. We fell into the deepest thoughts as time passed by and left a hope for tomorrow.
It all started there with a cup of coffee. It was a small talk over coffee, but a conversation worth creating a memory.

Drinking too much coffee is bad for health, specially in this heat. Then again, who cares as long as you are having profound coffee conversations. Friend: You were down with Covid during the first wave, right? It must have been depressing. TDW: Depressing seems like an understatement. Friend: That bad, huh? TDW: Imagine being locked out of your house. You live in the same place, but you can't see or feel your family. You know, people point out the health symptoms of Covid-19. There are mental repercussions. Friend: The coffee is good so I am all ears. After an awkward pause of 3-5 mins, TDW: One of the toughest symptoms of COVID-19 that me and my wife had to bear was the distance. You are living in the same house and yet, you cannot meet your family or go near to them. You seem so helpless. You cannot do anything for them. You can only wish everything stabilizes. But deep down, you know what is coming. Still, you have to choose to stay away. Friend: You know, I have always felt that Covid-19 is here to teach us all the meaning of sacrifice. TDW: Indeed...you sacrifice yourselves to save the one's you love the most.
