Certain things about Friends have not aged well (*cough* Ross *cough*) but I do genuinely miss the trend of coffee shops being full of colorful art and mismatched furniture. My local, state-based franchise started out in the 90s with purple velvet armchairs and paintings from local artists on sale.

Everything is so freaking gray now, that post about the world being increasingly shades of white, gray, and black is accurate.
