super robot wars has introduced code geass to me. code geass is the most confusing shit ive ever seen.

i have been introduced to

-a dude who uses his geass, which is to my understanding a sort of special power a select few people have that involves the eyes, to not only just tell people "IF YOU ARE MY ENEMY, DIE LITERALLY NOW" but he uses it to tell someone to just. sleep forever

-a girl who goes "oh yeah i have infinite body parts in this other universe so i'm basically immortal. this other guy killed god ther though, so that makes things harder"

-a geass power that was just going "NUH UH I TRAVEL BACK IN TIME I DONT DIE" like some playground roleplay shit, which caused me to replay one mission twice, and this was literally intended by the game, because the outcome changes slightly both times

-some, admittedly, really cool mech designs

i do not know what goes on in code geass and frankly i dont think i'm powerful enough to find out

Would you recommend Lancer? I’ve been thinking about checking out some new ttrpg systems and I have a pdf of the rules from an itchio bundle and I’m considering it

I'd give a tentative yes, but it depends largely on what you want from your ttrpg experience. if you're imagining super robot, it's probably not going to deliver on that, but it absolutely delivers on real robot

Lancer excels in achieving the highest level of "real robot feel" possible without completely drowning you in number crunching. there's still a good bit of it, but it won't feel like you're trying to transcribe sacred geometry to calculate projectile ballistics or anything

one thing to keep in mind is that Lancer achieves this by, more or less, being two entirely different games: a rules-light and roleplay-heavy pilot phase + a rules-heavy (but not overbearingly so) tactics-focused combat phase. some players might find this a bit restrictive, but its actual function is allowing mecha to be horrifying war machines without completely swamping any non-mecha characterization of the pilots

so if you're up for military strategy flavored with gundam, it may be for you. if you're hoping for code geass or getter robo, it may be better to look for a different system

What’s a muze you rlly want to rp but have no one to do them with

The thing is anon, I tend to roleplay pretty obscure characters. ^^; Some that people may know or that they haven’t gotten much attention to. For example, I’d like to roleplay Juliet Starling, but idk if people knew of the game or about her. I have multiple disorders which I’ll list, keep these in mind if you decide to chat with me. I have ADHD, Agoraphobia, Anxiety (Social and Generalized), Borderline Personality Disorder, Delusion Disorder, DID, Insomnia, OCD, PTSD, and Nightmare Disorder.
