Manifesting that whenever (if ever??) They bring the paradox swords of justice to Pokemon masters they need to put Rosa + the BW rivals with the "real" SoJ with suits.
(Is this because I am also manifesting a Hop + Zacian suit? Abso-fuckin-lutely what else would I do-)

wanted to rewrite this post for the new year!
I still have minimal designs for sarah/hugh’s pokemon, so same deal as last time! You tell me a mon and I’ll tell you smth abt their personality, show you an old design, or a gijinka design and you design the mon! go wild and do whatever you want! in return I’m still doing a full body drawing of a char of your choice :)
Sarah’s ref/Hugh’s ref for easy access 👍
this time I’m also adding legendaries! I only have a few gods designed, so I’m sending that out too. specially requesting ho-oh and lugia. Doing the pokemon and gijinka forms means I’ll do 2 fullbods in return! Also, I do have this kind of oddly specific requirements for gijinkas which I’ll tell you abt in dms if you want to do that.
(reblogs would be appreciated :D)
List of the taken/already done mons-
Hugh’s noivern, samurott, arcanine, skeledirge, krookodile
Sarah’s lycanroc, meowscarada, houndoom, delphox, zoroark, luxray, sylveon, mightyena, hydreigon, lucario, gallade, zacian
arceus, palkia, dialga, xerneas, yveltal, minor god zygarde (major needs a design), major god cobalion (minor needs a design), zacian, zamazenta, lunala
for the gods specifically: repeats are ok if you have a good role lore-wise for them. ex: another arceus that’s the main arceus’ secretary or smth

A Cross of Strange Colors Masterpost (OOC)
Hey guys, as you might have noticed we're into another arc here, so this here will serve as a little (not little) masterpost/FAQ for the arc!
What should I know going in?
This arc is higher-stakes than my usual fare, so posts will be tagged appropriately. General TWs for this arc include stalking, dehumanization, deception, general mental health instability, implications/discussions of Poképhilia (focused around hybrids, rather than specifics), and human/Pokémon experimentation. More serious posts may include body horror and/or related violent/disturbing themes. If these general themes bother you, I'd suggest blocking the mastertag, #a cross of strange colors. Any related troubling posts should also be tagged as #high stakes pokeblogging. And of course, individual trigger tags will be used!
[A note: PLEASE let me know if you want any extra TW tags on posts I make! I miss things at times, as much as I try to cover what I recognize could be triggering!]
Okay, this is a darker arc. Are you posting anything else to lighten the mood here?
Yes! I will be posting more regular content in between main arc posts! Gosh darn it, my foxperson is great at posting like nothing's going on when everything is going on.
How long is this plot going to be...?
Yeah, I wish I had a great idea. Likely two+ weeks spread out. Probably longer.
Can I interact with this? What about playing a larger role?
Yes! Interactions are highly appreciated along the way of this arc! Vanilla is not an island. Arc knows he'll need support along the way... or a little antagonism to push him along!
If you'd like to do something larger in the context of this arc, or just want to know what I'm up to (please, I could use help bouncing ideas), please feel free to DM me! Please. I'd love to hear what you have in mind!
Who is... ? (A character directory)
Aspear/Spear: Spear (27M) is a human geneticist and Cheri's serious, put-together twin brother. Though he has heard plenty of Vanilla from his twin, the two have yet to meet in-person. He is currently researching genetic differences between humans and Pokémon that might explain the large gap between the two that emerged many thousands of years ago. His partner Pokémon is Goop the Duosion.
Cheri: Cheri (27F) is a Pokémon geneticist, Aspear's twin sister, and Vanilla's current, highly energetic, girlfriend. The two met initially thirteen years prior, after Vanilla came hurtling through Cheri's window on the run from... someone. They have only recently reunited. She is researching the genetics of Pokémon to better understand what factors lead to better hybrid compatibility. Her partner Pokémon is Ribbon the Gothorita.
Cobalion: This universe's Cobalion (???, he/they) is something of a disgruntled leader of the Swords of Justice, serving as a sort of workplace "boss" to his subordinates Virizion and Terrakion. They all seem to get along, for the most part. Cobalion has Chosen Vanilla to receive several of his powers, including increased physical strength, durability, and the ability to use Secret Sword. Currently, Cobalion treats Vanilla as a trainee, rather than a subordinate taking on jobs.
Colress: Colress (38M) is a canon character. (For anybody who missed B2W2 and/or USUM, check out details here.) He is a scientist and the ex-"leader" of Team Plasma, focusing on how to strengthen Pokémon via the power of their bonds with humans... whatever means that research takes. He has recently developed an interest in Ultra Space, after spending several years in Alola on the run.
V: Vanilla's former name, given at birth. Though not quite a deadname given Wolfgang is still allowed to use it, anyone else referring to Vanilla as such would receive fierce resistance.
What's the plot so far?
(readmore for aforementioned potentially triggering content)
[. . .LOADING. . .]
Vanilla is discovered and contacted in-person by Colress, an ex-Plasma scientist researching the bonds between humans and Pokémon and [UNCLEAR]. The two have a battle that Vanilla wins, leading to Colress remarking on the potential strength of human-Pokémon hybrids before being chased off by Clay.
The next day, Colress contacts Vanilla to request a further meeting, revealing in a supposed show of goodwill that he is aware of a tracker used for [UNCLEAR] placed in Vanilla's right ear. Vanilla, upon learning this, challenges Colress to set up a meeting on his own, and sets about removing the tracker on her own terms.
Later that week, Vanilla gets a request from Cheri to meet at her lab, to meet Aspear and to give a talk on sensitivity towards hybrids. At first this visit goes well, though Aspear does catch up to Vanilla to talk about his sister briefly. Once the actual meeting starts, though, just about everything goes to shit. Colress walks into the lab room, and Aspear accidentally reveals Colress as his and Cheri's "boss" of sorts, leading up to a battle between Vanilla and Colress.
During this battle, Cross posts about something that concerns them--it is later shown that Colress directly attacked Vanilla with his Beheeyem's Lumina Crash to trigger Vanilla's instincts and bait them into attacking for the purpose of gathering data on the strength of "natural hybrids". Cheri tackles Vanilla to the ground to stop any harm from coming to anyone, and Vanilla is left shaken for several minutes. Soon after Vanilla comes to his senses, he confronts Cheri about the events of the day, leading to a breakup between the two. The footage of Vanilla attacking Colress is made public, but luckily, he has plenty of support from those around him. Even if there are still mysteries left unclear...
Several days of silence pass. Finally, after Vanilla expresses concern about what Colress is planning, they receive another message from him. This time, a veiled threat: seek him out, or else... what? Vanilla pretends to be unaffected, but secretly contacts Aspear. Their plan? Record Colress admitting to his own scientific misdeeds to reveal to the general public, generating enough outrage that the government is forced to finally take action against him.
The morning comes, and the two set things into motion. Vanilla takes the visage of Cheri so as to not arouse Colress's suspicion, and Cross is used to live-stream the entire event. However, as the talk continues on, Vanilla plays their hand a bit too early. They're caught by Colress, who destroys the lab & severely injures Aspear and Cross with a Discharge. At this point, the public view ends, as Cross is knocked out by the attack, and is only found by Tula hours later. Vanilla is taken down for a few seconds, Cobalion releasing itself from the Pokéball it entered to conceal itself, and Colress makes an attempt to escape with his Beheeyem's Teleport. Vanilla musters up just enough strength to jump after him, tagging along to his final destination. (A conflict ensues, in which Vanilla is captured.) Cobalion's attempt to charge Colress, likewise, ends in him accidentally injuring Cheri, who had seen the livestream and come to the site of the lab to ask questions. From here on out, Cheri takes the point of view.
Cheri, Rune, Tula, and Wyrdo form a search party for Vanilla. On Saturday, they search for clues, but are left empty-handed, save a heavy stack of papers found by Tula when she recovers Cross and a list of possible locations from Lo. With these hints, they regroup Sunday, settling on the Dreamyard as the most likely location for Colress's laboratory. The four come across Chiru, Vanilla's Altaria, as they approach, and, with some harsh words from Wyrdo towards both Cheri and Tula, descend into the Dreamyard. There, they face four hybrid "experiments" of Colress's, and as Tula sneaks off to find Colress himself...
[Hey! If you're visiting this months later as a refresher, finally finished it!]
Suddenly, what appears to be a strange Ultra Beast--Necrozma, perhaps, though something about it's off--lashes out at the party. Wyrdo realizes the misunderstanding quickly, confirming their suspicion when they jolt an illusioned Vanilla with enough electricity to both paralyze him and reveal his true form. With the rest of the hybrids being taken care of quickly by the combination of Rune, Wyrdo, Cheri, Cobalion, and Wolfgang's efforts, focus shifts to Colress's lab.
Inside, several minutes before, Tula had confronted Colress, taking a swipe from his Klinklang's Giga Impact. In return, Tula nearly takes him out of commission permanently, an intended stab to the heart hitting his shoulder. The two fall to the ground, crushing a Master Ball Vanilla was apparently confined in. However, the approach of Wyrdo's Misdreavus gives Colress just enough time to recollect his bearings, and he uses some strange machine to escape to somewhere unspecified.
Rune enters the space, and as Tula lashes out the two realize Colress left his Klinklang behind in his attempt to flee. Finally, Cheri and Cobalion enter to share that Vanilla's come to, and the group regathers around the hybrid as Rune's Cosmog, Connie, helps bring the injured to the Driftveil Hospital.
In the aftermath, Vanilla recovers quite well. In the hospital, Cross (reunited with Vanilla at last) and Motom arrange a meeting between Tula and Vanilla that leads to an agreement: the two will travel together for Vanilla's gym challenge. A pragmatic agreement with absolutely no romantic feelings behind it, certainly.
Tula also reveals they have Colress's laptop, which is later unlocked by Tula's close friend Callisto. Vanilla keeps the information on there notably quiet. Tula cares for Klinklang for some time, before passing custody of the Pokémon to Rune. Other miscellaneous information includes the fact that both Cheri and Aspear recover, and decide jointly to begin their own Gym Challenge at around the same time as Vanilla.
The group also tries to press Colress's subordinates for further information on the hybridization project he was testing, but receive little in the way of new information. And so it continues, for well on nine months...

Generation IX Pokemon Nicknames, Part 2
Continuing!
Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
A toxic seed that's made of stone? Hmm. Kind of looks like a Shelgon without limbs. And blue. "Bluegone". It's blue, and its limbs are gone.
Tumblr media
Huh, a skeletal dog with a tombstone on its head. It actually looks pretty cool. Kind of like a Cuphead enemy. "Tombhead".
Tumblr media
A flamingo without the n. "Anti Plasma". It really doesn't like N.
Tumblr media
... What is that? It has a lot of HP, but the worst defensive typing ever. I can't see me making one.
Tumblr media
Carvanha-esque fish. ... Ehn, its stats are pretty bad, so I doubt I would ever make one.
Tumblr media
Whiscash-esque fish. Dondozo, huh? The name reminds me of Yakuza 8's Dondoko Island. So... "Trash Pirate".
Tumblr media
This tiny fish had oddly high stats. Why. I'll call this "Sushi Gin", the restaurant that you go to in MANY Yakuza games. I think it actually exists in Kabukicho?
Tumblr media
Undead Primeape? Looks more like an undead Mankey "Ex-Mankey".
Tumblr media
... Huh. So instead of Alola forms of Kanto Pokemon, we have... whatever this is of Johto Pokemon? Well, if I never made a Quagsire or a Girafarig... And Dunsparce came back because why not.
Tumblr media
Huh, a Bisharp evolution. That's cool. From a Pawn to a Bishop, to a King. ... Isn't that a demotion, given chess rules? At least it makes my nicknames for this thing pretty easy. It'll be whatever my Bisharps are named, except... I would need to re-RNG them. "Promotion" and "Centurion".
Tumblr media
... Um... huh? These all have the same Ability, but... they're just monster versions of existing Pokemon? ... ??? Well, I guess the nicknames are pretty straight forward. From the top, "Nahpnod", "Ffupylggij", "Sugnooma", "Suigamsim", "Anoraclov", and "Notengam".
Tumblr media
... The hell? These are just... robotic versions of existing Pokemon? These are like the Purifier variants of regular Protoss units in Legacy of the Void. Hmm. Well, I can't give unique names to each of these like the Purifier faction units, so... from the top, "Mechaphan", "Delibot", "Harifier", "Hydragoon", "V-07-CAR-0N4", and "Robotar". ... Hydragoon sounds like a Hydralisk crammed inside a Dragoon chassis...
Tumblr media
Hm. So the base 600 total non-Legendary is once again a Dragon type. Dragon/Ice, eh? Hmm... I wonder if a Dex Holder team overhaul is in order... Baxcalibur, the Dragon/Ice typed Ice Dragon Pokemon. ... Then its name must be "Dragon Ice". Dragon Ice the Dragon/Ice typed Ice Dragon Pokemon.
Tumblr media
... "Coinstring", because that thing looks like the Cheesestring mascot, but it's made of coins.
Tumblr media
Huh, so these must be the region's trio/quartet. Why the Chinese sounding names? Isn't Generation IX supposedly to be based on Spain? I still rarely name Legendary Pokemon, so... none for now.
Tumblr media
More of these weird monster/mecha variants. Monsters get the names of "Ecnemalas" and "Enucius", and the mechs get "Gallade 3.0" and "V.1r1 Zion".
Tumblr media
I assume these are the version mascot Legendary Pokemon. Hmm... I have no nicknames for these.
Tumblr media
Huh. Apple Dragon. Why are these two so far apart in Dex number? Grass/Dragon so it gets annihilated by the Dragon type's classic weakness of Ice, eh? Well, if I had to give it a name, I would call it "Invaluable". Fits the Apple Dragon quite well. Apple, because of who sings the song "The Invaluable" and in what album, and Dragon because it's the ending song of Yakuza 8, or Like a Dragon 8.
Tumblr media
... "Mugman".
Tumblr media
... Is that another trio in the same region? Hmm...
Tumblr media
Huh. There's... a lot of text associated with this one. I ain't reading all that. It's a Mask Pokemon. Okay. I have nothing.
Tumblr media
Huh. Another base stat 600 total non Legendary, and another Dragon at that. It's a... bridge dragon. ... I got nothing good.
Tumblr media
More monsters and robots. Well, there was a monster Suicune, so get the monster Raikou and Entei here... in reverse order because why not (Dex goes Raikou, Entei, then Suicune). And there was that robot Virizion, so get Cobalion and Terrakion in here... also in reverse order (Cobalion, Terrakion, then Virizion). ... F*ck Keldeo, I guess. So from the top, "Ietne", "Uokiar", "Robokion", and "Carbot". I was going to say "Cobot", but that sounded like Carbot, so... Carbot it is, from Carbot Animations. ... What is with this generation and knock off copies of existing Pokemon?
Tumblr media
So we have a gem-turtle, then we have a roadkill form, and then a... er... Gigantamax form where the turtle stands on top of its roadkill form that's above a Protoss Plasma Shield flare... ... bwuh? That's a fancy ass turtle, so I'll give it the name of... "Gemtle". The most non-fancy name there is.
Tumblr media
Last one! ... A peach seed Pokemon, eh? ... It has base stat 88 across the board except Def, which is at 160. Hm... that's... pretty mediocre. Not bad, but... not amazing. ... I got nothing super creative. So "Poison Seed" it is.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whew. That's all of them. There was a lot more than I thought there'd be. And I guess it's pretty hard to come up with a suitable nickname for Pokemon in a game that I will never have and don't want.
Given the sheer number of monsters and robots, you'd think the game's region was based on Tokyo and not Spain.
Now, the Baxcalibur and Archaludon are the only base stat total 600 non Legendary that I did not yet give to a Dex Holder in overhaul posts, in my mission to give each one to a Dex Holder. Obviously the overhaul posts only matter in whatever short story I make that uses Pokemon, but... I might as well see that mission through. ... But who...

Unit Teambuilding - Oleana
I feel like the opinion of Oleana as a sync pair is the ultimate proof of the sub-reddit’s weird stance on female characters.  “But she shouldn’t be PokeFair, she was the perfect candidate to be a general pool!”  Yeah, sure guys.  The conventionally attractive antagonist lady from a more modern Pokemon game was gonna be a demote in this day and age.  Very realistic.  Do you even hear yourself?
General Overview Oleana and Garbodor comes in and asks a very simple question.  A question by which one could argue they live and die.
Is Emma here?
If you got Emma...keep reading, learn some stuff.  If you didn’t, Oleana feels borderline mandatory.  We finally got a good Poison-type damage pair whose damage is not conditional on some nonsense.  Emma was the closest we had before, and while Emma is hard locked to the foe being poisoned, Oleana has Gunk Shot by default, which does fantastic damage.  Seriously, it’s only mildly behind Emma.  Her trainer move is very nice, giving the usual +4 Atk/+3 crit, with +2 accuracy to offset Gunk Shot, and a -1 sync cooldown to offset that turn 2 is going to be her Max Move.  Oleana wants to Poison, and when she does, it’s actually Toxic.  Max Move will inflict this Toxic, while also applying a Poison Rebuff to all foes, not just the target hit.  This leads immediately to Venom Drench, which is given a x3 multiplier by her last passive, hitting Atk/Sp Atk/Speed for -3 per action.  While it takes a minute to set up, and requires Poison, this is the fastest acting debuff to any of those stats, let alone all three at once.  This also leads instantly to Power Play, which is a ridiculous multiplier on a Tech pair, and is her innate sync multiplier as well, so A+ on consistency and avoiding the damnation of needing a status and being useless in Gauntlet.  Her last move is...Move Gauge Boost.  For some reason.  We were so close, girl.
Oleana is legitimately fantastic, pushing DPS nearly on par with Emma after rebuff, and a sync nuke that is more than double previous champion Koga.  Poison finally got a real, legitimate contender.  So okay, what’s the catch?
Oleana, like many Poison types, relies on the foe being Poisoned.  Not as badly as others, but you need at least one to set up Venom Drench, or she can’t really access her sync multiplier.  The good news is, she only needs one, so I’m not writing Cobalion off just yet.  The other is her DPS is listed so high as an absolute extreme, where you take all the various Potent Toxins and most critically, Ramming Speed.  Oleana is not especially fast, and while gauge is appreciated, Ramming Speed pulls it into nigh-mandatory range for Gauntlet, where Poison cannot be assured.  This means Oleana needs specific partners, or to run her own self-setup.  Which is either taking hits (Posthaste), or spamming Move Gauge Boost (Pep Rally 2).  The latter does have the nice benefit of boosting team speed, and is relevant for Emma synergy, but spamming such an otherwise useless move instead of doing any of the other fantastic things she does really isn’t worth her while.  So the theoretical maximum is fairly hard to outright impossible to achieve.
Still, what an entrance.  This is the justice Garbodor deserves.  Too many “bad design” jokes from the Gen 5 era has resulted in it releasing its fury here, as quite possibly the best Poison-type damage dealer in the game.  Sorry Emma, you know I love you, but holy shit.
EX and Move Level? Tech, so EX always encouraged.  Oleana also feels a bit more reliant on the 3/5 in many situations, but I fully admit, 1/5 is perfectly fine because Oleana has legitimate, actually significant support to offer a team at 1/5.  That Venom can Drench.
Team 1: Oleana, H!Caitlin, SS Leaf Something something caps her own crit therefore Caitlin.  You know the drill, Caitlin is optimal always, but especially when your physical striker needs speed.  SS Leaf can AoE Poison without the Max Move so you can conserve that nuke and Venom Drench spam faster, and even shreds defenses and offers pop healing for Caitlin.  I’ll also point out that, given Oleana’s -1 sync cooldown and SS Leaf’s trainer move, H!Caitlin can run Head Start with no penalty thanks to Vigilance for a fast-ramp.
Team 2: Oleana, BP Janine/Hop, BP Erika/Roxie “I’m on a bit more of a budget, is there anything else?”  Sure, here’s an option.  BP Janine offers Oleana the last +2 attack she needs, and some speed buffs for gauge and/or multipliers.  BP Erika sets up Toxic early to conserve Max Move as desired, or you can dual strike it with Roxie, who loves the speed buffs from Janine, and gets a bit of a bump in efficiency with Janine’s Team Sharp Entry and X Atk All.  You could go Hop as support for the Galar skill with Oleana, which helps Roxie’s offense but limits gauge barring Pep Rally 2 on Move Gauge Boost.
Team 3: Oleana, V!Agatha/Bugsy&Scyther, Emma You wanna fuck shit up?  This is how you fuck shit up.  Oleana and Emma actually combo incredibly well.  Oleana provides Rebuff for Emma’s damage, which can and will one-shot sides on-type turn 2 provided a Poison (via Max Move, this is easily achieved).  All they need is +2 Atk, and ideally some defense debuffs.  Variety Agatha is worth noting because I need to justify my impulses, while Bugsy and Scyther are a nice alternative with move gauge acceleration, if they ever rerun him.  Leer is rare on a support, as it turns out.  At 3/5, Oleana can also offer Pep Rally, which caps Emma’s speed, giving her full multipliers by turn 2.  This is the kind of nonsense these two can get up to, and I am very excited.
Team 4: Oleana, Anni N/C!Iris, Lodge Dawn/Hop Alright, let’s talk about my personal favorite angle.  Oleana, in two turns, bottoms out foe’s attack and special attack.  Finally, full power first sync for Champion Iris and Anniversary N.  Pecking Order/Devastation combos are thriving, just add the relevant support.  This is a trait Oleana achieves at a mere 1/5, too.
Team 5: Oleana, Victor, SS Acerola Don’t say I never did anything for you, Victor.  Another great aspect of that Venom Drench?  Bottoms speed in two turns.  This is fantastic for partners who don’t care about the status, and is worth noting for Victor in particular, whose every multiplier revolves around speed debuffs that his slow ass cannot provide.  SS Acerola offers the Terrain and stacks of moves up next to get him throwing around the best damage he can.  There are other options, but I really wanted to emphasize something Galarian for theme skills.
Team 6: Oleana, Rose, Colress Okay, listen.  Listen to me, and hear my words.  Oleana and Rose do not have the greatest synergy, but you can make it work, thanks to one trait.  Pep Rally 2 on Move Gauge Boost.  Even with relatively slow options, this can achieve enough gauge to manage.  And with that, we select Colress.  This offsets some points in CS, and allows you to pack in defense drops, as well as accuracy drops, to support a fairly sturdy team thanks to Oleana’s offensive debuffs.  As mentioned with Rose, Colress also gets a free action at 3/5 when using status moves, so he’s gauge free and loving it.  Consider this him picking up a new job.  He has very poor taste in employers.
Team 7: Oleana, BP Clemont/BP Morty, Tech Lickitung Last one.  Stall strats.  Stall is a winning plan now, and Oleana facilitates it obscenely well.  Guaranteed AoE toxic turn 1 with max move, and two turns later you’ve removed all offensive presence.  Just add trap from an ally, and a supporter with something to do, such as BP Clemont with Synchro Healing or BP Morty with Potion (and also Synchro Healing), and you’re golden.
Final Thoughts Legitimately, I love this kit.  I am a slut for debuffs, and fast-acting debuffs like this are tremendous.  I’m...really impressed with how this sync pair turned out.  Like, sadly, really impressed.  I kinda love it.  I’m so mad.  I don’t even really like Oleana.  But I do like Garbodor, so I guess it all kinda evens out.

Pokemon Card of the Day #1707: Cobalion EX (Plasma Storm)
Tumblr media
Cobalion EX provided a big Metal-type attacker for a type that had a couple of Klinklang and, eventually, Bronzong for support. This was something the type needed quite badly to keep up at a time where strong EX attackers were everywhere. While it had its problems with not being able to hit important Weaknesses, the damage output was still of obvious importance to its type.
180 HP was pretty typical for a Pokemon EX and let Cobalion take a hit most of the time. The Fire Weakness could be an issue against Emboar decks running Delphox as well as Flareon. On the other hand, while the Psychic Weakness wasn’t huge, it could make Mewtwo EX use a third Energy to KO in 2 hits. The Retreat Cost here was 2, which wasn’t awful but you’d still want to have a better way to pivot around if possible.
Righteous Edge certainly had its moments. Relying on an attack that only did 30 damage, even for a single Metal Energy, wasn’t too great, but you got to discard a Special Energy attached to the Defending Pokemon. There were decks that relied very heavily on Special Energy, with Plasma TDK decks being quite notable for this. Cobalion EX could really screw up those decks by attacking early in a game.
Steel Bullet was Cobalion EX’s much-needed big attack. 100 damage for 2 Metal and a Colorless Energy was impressive enough, since it could KO anything but some Mega Pokemon and Wailord EX in 2 hits. It wasn’t affected by Weakness, Resistance, or any other effects on the Defending Pokemon either, so it was nice for Klinklang mirror matches but missed out on the powerful hits on Kyurem and Fairy-types. It was still one of the best attackers of its type, at least, so this attack was quite impressive on its own.
Cobalion EX was a staple in Klinklang decks of any sort as well as very common in BCR-On Metal Links decks as well. It wasn’t one of those Pokemon EX that jumped out with massive damage or anything, but sometimes it was nice to have a very solid attacker that could trade blows with most decks rather effectively. Cobalion EX provided that quite nicely.

📜 for some of that world lore!
ohhh man I’ve got nothing unique to say lol-
this blog takes place in modern time (2023 lol) and just like the normal anime universe? I mean that like not just boring turn based battles, things like thunder armor swellow and “aim for the horn” do work.
The events of this plot take place after the journeys anime and b2w2 game. Ash lived out the bw plot, Sarah lives out the b2w2 plot. The events of the horizons anime will probably never happen? (Roy and Liko will be Ash and Goh’s kids in the future I think)
Like I said in the pinned, legendary and mythical pokemon are treated like gods, worshipped and prayed to and whatever. When meeting a legendary/mythical, it is custom to bow and be respectful. They also have shrines and stuff. This excludes ultra beasts (aliens) and the man made ones (genesect, mewtwo)
Many legendary/mythicals seem like the one and only, but most are just rare. (There’s only 1 of each box legend, but there may be more than on cobalion or shaymin. Whatever fits the pokemons lore best)
Speaking English is not something every pokemon can do, and only certain mons choose to learn it (like team rockets meowth). All legendaries/mythicals can speak telepathically, and the majority of powerful psychic type mons can as well, but most of the time it’s a matter of choice whether the mon wants to. (ex- alakazam could speak telepathically but abra could not)
Many trainers fully understand their own pokemon based on body language, facial expressions, etc. Many mons understand English, hence why they understand orders in battle.
To officially register for a trainer license, you have to be 10
The age limits for most things are lessened in my universe, but adulthood is still considered 18
Most trainers who go out and adventure have to attend virtual classes during the school year
Anyone can carry around 6 pokemon, but they have to register/fill out some kind of form to hold more. This excludes anyone with the champion rank, they can just carry around as many as they want.
the champion rank is way, way less exclusive, anyone who beats the league and top champ gets it. Becoming top champion is more of a choice, people are given the option when beating the current top champion.
