Hi gina this is kinda random and might be a reach but has anyone ever connected copy of a copy of a copy to fight club, as it is a pretty famous quote from the book/movie

Shit, I was literally having that discussion with someone about a month ago. And now I can’t remember who it was. But yes!! I’ve never seen the film, but was digging into it when they brought the idea up and it’s a really interesting theory.

Hi. Hope you're doing okay. Every time I'm having doubts about Louis's sexuality I remember this is the guy who wrote COACOAC. This is the guy who leaked Home. There is never going to be an action LOUIS WILLIAM TOMLINSON is going to do to tell the world about his true self than in his songs. That is where he reveals the depth of who is. So I pity people who spend hours looking for clues on socials to prove stuff about him. Hell Larry might not be real (cough in larry is real)but it doesn't mean Louis is automatically straight. He's not a man of action to prove to people what is real or not about him but I think for him his strength lies in writing out what he feels and for those willing to go the extra mile and really listen they will get a glimpse of who he really is. I mean COACOAC literally has a line saying 'been this way forever', what do people think he's trying to say, that he has been straight forever? Why is a straight man saying they have been this way forever as if it's a crime to be straight?

In the end, whether Eleanor is around or not, whether he picks a pride flag or not. Whatever happens today or tomorrow in his public life. The clues we should be looking for are the ones in his music.

I agree with you. The constant “scavenger hunt” around Louis’ sexuality doesn’t sit right with me either. When you know, you know. Or you have to keep looking for it, I guess.

I understand that history made us hyper aware of Louis’ queer coding, but it not being there all the time, doesn’t automatically imply his queerness has somehow gone. I also understand how outrageous it would be if Louis would lift up a pride flag one day. But he doesn’t owe it to me to confirm or reassure me about his sexuality. He is still very much closeted after all. Louis’ image is that of a very straight man.

Listening to it now! Louis is an extremely talented songwriter- he paints very vivid pictures with his words. I could see that point of view: comforting him, telling him he’s not the only one who’s gone through what he will, that he’s not the only closeted artist, that it’s all the same. He won’t be the first, and he’s not the last. It’s an interesting thought, that he’s writing about the industry. It’s a sad song in a lot of ways. We know Louis is honest to a fault in his music (see the princess park line in Habit for proof of that 😂). I think he weaves layers into his music, and most of the time they have multiple meanings or interpretations, and there probably isn’t one “correct” way of thinking about it!

ooooh no, i don't think that. i think copy of a copy was very much inspired by the same ideas as sign of the times, and that louis put a sonic easter egg, the guitar slide, in copy to link it even more to sign of the times. the super long guitar slide from low to high, right before both choruses, is identical, and it's a very typical blues/country thing, so very very harry. louis putting it in copy is, imo, a reference to sott and to harry. i generally don't think they write together, but i do think they do this kind of cross-referencing all the fucking time

In honor of yesterday's fight club tiktok I wanted to add some fight club content that might give some perspective to people who haven't seen it/read it.

First of the book starts with some homoerotic innuendo and we also get some hints of it further on in the book. Here are some examples(it is a bit lowkey but remember the author of the book is gay so I don't think this is a coincidence).

(Gun in mouth->read it as bj, fighting->sex)

Secondly, if I remember correctly we talked about the fight club before when just like you mv dropped. There was a comic of yogi the bear and the original comic says something along the lines of first rule about the park is dont feed the bears and people conected it with quote from fight club that says first rule of fight club is you dont talk about fight club

And lastly smiley. In fight club smiley first appears in a scene where the Narrator gets a call from Marla. This is the screenshot from it(it might be a reach but it looks like the same type of sticker that rbb and sbb were using).

The sticker foreshadows project mayhem where the goal is to destroy the world and make something better of it. The symbol is once again a smiley that shows up on the burning building. (Smiley and soap are popular symbols of the movie)To me smiley screams Louis.

This are just some of my first toughts when it comes to connecting louis to fight club. Also one of the main points of the movie is fighting capitalism/consumer culture and i think louis kinda stands for that.

I tried to be as objective as possible but I'm quite a fan of fight club soo...Idk this might be a bit of a stretch to connect louis to fight club.
