here-be-dragons-and-whatnot challenged me to a Disney Redraw Challenge. She chose this scene of the coachman from Pinocchio and his infamous scary smile.

This was a lot of fun to draw and then paint. This was also an opportunity to try out some new brushes, new overlay textures, and use the brushes to blend instead of blenders for some parts.

Book 3 of Playful Land is getting really interesting… the wooden masks grew on everyone’s faces, making them become weak- even Lilia, Grim, and Yuu! And now I’m wondering at just how far the trafficking plot of Pinocchio will play out in Playful Land. Considering the wooden masks, the boys seem to be turning into puppets, either wooden or human.

But now my theory of someone else running Playful Land feels a little confirmed haha, because Fellow definitely has a boss that’s threatening his salary if he doesn’t meet the deadline. I’m not too surprised however, just because in Pinocchio, there was the Coachman, and Honest John and Gideon had almost nothing to do with Playful Land. However, since it’s unclear so far, the “boss” could also just be a client, but…

Now the whole threats with the salary and everything sounds like a Crowley moment, but even I don’t think that’s happening haha, and I’ve been begging to have Crowley in this event. It just seems way too sinister from a character we already know, so it seems likely that Fellow’s boss is the “Coachman.” I wonder if TWST is going to introduce yet another character for this event as the Coachman, or will he just be behind the scenes from the phone? And just like the Coachman, this boss/client of Fellow’s sounds wealthy, as Fellow expresses how much he hates rich people’s selfishness.

But it’s interesting. There’s a deadline, Fellow gets paid for this, and it involves human puppets. Is it like Pinocchio where boys get sold?? If they’re human puppets, are they meant to be sold for puppet shows, exploited for their magical ability, or something else?? None of the possibilities sound good at all. Who are the rich people buying human puppets, I just want to talk 🔫

However, if Fellow is using them for magic, that makes a lot of sense why he got so happy at seeing NRC uniforms: as top magic school students, it’s the easiest way to pick out the strongest mages. But like I said, it’s interesting there’s a strict deadline specifically.

Hm….this event is getting crazy and I need to know more!! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️
