periodically I feel a little bit bad about the fact that my feelings about su she overall are mostly "meh" because he probably does deserve better than that but he's just not clicking with me personally, I suppose.

put him on the "hated by all" side of things but not all the way over because it seems like he was at least liked enough to build his own sect, but that is balanced out by the fact that I feel like outside of his sect he's not exactly the most popular in society writ large. this is not a character flaw

also probably could've given him more trauma if I'm going with cql!verse, in retrospect, but I guess maybe I'm thinking relatively speaking

7. If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most?

I don't think I've ever actually used song lyrics as part of a fic? I use songs as art insp a lot but never for fics, now that I think about it... I'm gonna use this as an excuse to drop a link to my Bell's Hells playlist, though, because I'm currently writing a BH modern au and this playlist could kind of be its soundtrack.

8. Pairing you wrote the most for this year?

Apparently every fic I've written this year has featured a different pairing, no repeats... I like variety lol. The character I've written the most fics for this year is Orym, though!

14. What’s your shortest work of the year?

It's Midnight Chat, which is a quick little fic I wrote after bingeing The Great North! (It's also one of only 7 fics for that fandom on all of ao3 lol...)

Yeah, I was hoping the maturity warning was for lesbian sex but no it’s just for violence 💔. Even the nudity is not explicit 💔. The rape & cannibalism is from background characters not the leads. The meet cute for the two main characters is the immortal catgirl rescuing the human girl by beheading her kidnapper with her bare hands. Naturally, she declares herself in love at first sight and tells everyone she needs to find her hero again so they can get married.

Eventually catgirl, her best friend foxgirl, their new friend human girl, and some guy with a government job all meet and set out together to investigate some mysterious murders.

What do you listen to while writing?

These days, a lot of the time nothing. This never used to be the case - I was always listening to music when I wrote, whether it was a playlist or just my entire iTunes library on shuffle - but nowadays I'll often just be writing with the sound of my own keyboard to keep me company.

Unless I'm on a bus or airplane, in which case I'll be listening to something. What that is...varies wildly. I sometimes can only listen to instrumental music while I'm writing or I'll get distracted (particularly with certain artists), so I have a playlist for that, but I also just have a ~600 song playlist that's just "songs I'm really into" that I'll put on shuffle and just kind of let run.

it's funny, though, I hadn't really thought about how I used to be much more of a music-listening writer than I am now. maybe I should try that again, see what it does for me.
