eventually when he gleams that she might not smack him within an inch of his life (he's sure chrissy could do some major damage-- jock muscles and all.) if he wasn't careful he might lose one of the only two money makers he's got; his mug. but hey, at least he'd still have his fingers to strum with unless she decides to do away with those as well-- "it was uh, it was my bad." he walks closer, lowering his hands back down to his side and instead holds them together behind his back. bending down slightly to whisper something to her like it's too important a secret to say into the air. "you uh," he turns red, licks his lips, "you sounded good, cunningham, if it makes you feel any better.” says under his breath, “make madonna sound tone deaf.”

If he hadn't been caught off guard, he would easily have been able to catch the cheerleader in his arms, especially given her size compared to him. But, he hadn't been expecting the sudden hug that Chrissy was throwing him into, and Steve groaned as he fell hard onto the ground.

"What's the occasion? Damn, Chris!" He was laughed lightly as she was on top of him, arms gently circled around her waist. His head was spinning a bit from the impact, but he didn't mind it, just smiling as wide as he could up at the other. "Well hello to you, too."

HE WAS AWKWARD around girls. He’d never had much dating experience. And Chrissy was WAY out of his league. Nevertheless, Stanley flashed her a (hopefully) charming smile and attempted to make a joke to lighten the mood a bit. “Should I be doing something differently?” It was said as if it was a joke, but the question was genuine. He had NO IDEA how to act around girls.

The National Basketball Association {NBA} All-Star Weekend is a weekend festival held every February during the middle of the NBA regular season that consists of a variety of basketball events, exhibitions, and performances culminating in the NBA All-Star Game held on Sunday night (February 8th).

Timbaland and Magaoo had just released their first album “Welcome to Our World” (November 11, 1997) and performed their top hits; “Up Jumps the Boogie”, “Luv 2 Luv U”, “Clock Strikes”, and Missy’s debut solo single “The Rain” alongside Shaunta Montgomery, Mad Skillz, and of course Aaliyah on this night.

It’s not documented that Aaliyah performed any of her own hits during this event although the televised broadcast performance was dubbed “Aaliyah and her Superfriends”.

The Basketball game itself --- Lakers guard Kobe Bryant became the youngest All-Star starter when he suited up for the West at age 19. This was the first All-Star game to feature both Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan is crowned the game’s MVP.
