Pet Fic: Lucky, Alpine, and More

It's dogs. And cats. And the occasional ferret. Come on, of course we love them! This sampler offers a variety of animal-centric fics: in some, pets and animals are what bring Clint and Bucky together; in others, they serve as key components to helping Clint and Bucky figure things out; in one, we get some of Lucky's actual POV. Animals act as therapists, as cockblocks, as the absolute best pillows. Winterhawk Samplers: Fics to Sink Your Teeth into (aka werewolves and vampires)

It may not be October, but it is Dracula Daily season! Fandom is full of werewolves and vampires, and winterhawk is not immune to the thrall of our beloved cryptids. How to - Summaries WHBB2022

Hello authors!! Below the cut you will find a how-to for summaries for your fics! Basically, in addition to sending us your rough draft to show you have it at least 70% finished (if not finished, please also provide a rough list/paragraph/etc to indicate you have a plan for the rest of the fic) you will also want to have a summary for when artists are doing claims. Please note, if you do not include a summary the mods will attempt to contact you. If you do not get back to us we will not write a summary for you though we will attempt to at least post something for claims.

In the email with the rough draft please include the following:

<b>Username:</b> <b>Word Count:</b> <b>Completed Percentage:</b> <b>Title/Working Title:</b> <b>Characters/Pairings:</b> <b>Warnings:</b>(non con, extreme violence, etc) <b>Rating:</b> <b>Summary:</b>(no more than three paragraphs)

Take time to make a summary - in fact it might be a good idea to give a little more than you normally would - remember you're trying to snag an artist with this one, not just a reader, so you can give a little more away actually - dangle some tasty scenes! Also be liberal with your tagging of things that might seem questionable or upset someone. We want our pairings to go smoothly and for that to happen we need to be upfront about what the fic will contain.

Sometimes Bucky has bad dreams. He never wants to talk about them, and Clint, being a man of a few words himself, and accustomed to silence, does not push him. It’s not like it would be smart to antagonize the infamous Winter Soldier – even though that’s not really who Bucky is anymore, Clint is fairly sure he could still kill a man with his bare hands, and that’s not at all a comforting thought as he lies naked and vulnerable in bed next to the former assassin. Over time, Clint has figured out that a better strategy to deal with the mornings that follow these dreams is to leave a cup of coffee within Bucky’s reach and rub circles on his shoulders while he comes back to himself.

He doesn’t ask anymore, but he does put in his hearing aids, just in case.
