There is something so disturbingly poetic about Trigun Stampede airing at the same time a Climate Panel declares Earth is going to hit a "critical" warming threshold in 2030s

For people who don't know when climate folks talk about "loss and damage financing" we are talking about giving money to poor countries in order for them to fight and adapt to climate change. This is essential to fighting climate change and cannot be ignored.

Overall, Earth is getting hotter.
The warming comes directly from human activities – specifically, the release of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels. We started burning fossil fuels in earnest during the Industrial Revolution. Activities like driving cars and operating factories continue to release greenhouse gases into our atmosphere, where they trap heat in the atmosphere.

At the End of the Day, It’s Us
Our satellites, airborne missions, and measurements from the ground give us a comprehensive picture of what’s happening on Earth every day. We also have computer models that can skillfully recreate Earth’s climate.
By combining the two, we can see what would happen to global temperature if all the changes were caused by natural forces, like volcanic eruptions or ENSO. By looking at the fingerprints each of these climate drivers leave in our models, it’s perfectly clear: The current global warming we’re experiencing is caused by humans.

Are you disgusted at corporations and oil companies doing nothing about climate change? Are you worried that fossil fuels will be the death of our planet if we don't take action soon?
Joe Biden and Senate Democrats passed a bill with $369B allocated for reducing carbon emissions, and it's being paid for by high corporate taxes and taxing the 1%.
Unfortunately, Republicans are spending billions of dollars on campaigns these midterms to try and take over the Senate. Please, make a plan to get out and vote for Democrats this very important election, and remind 3 friends to vote as well!

The problem with the organizations targeting key historical artworks to protest climate change is that they chose to aim precisely the wrong crowd. The folks who value art are not exactly of the thoughtless variety who don't care about the planet and future generations, on the contrary. That's EXACTLY why these actions are absolutely senseless. In a human world full of ugliness, of hopelessness, art counters this by enriching it with beauty and hope. That's how art saves the world, even if an artwork is not meant to protest injustice, that doesn't mean it's meaningless. Art is one of the only evidences of our humanity, of our heart, of our organic nature, of our connection to other living beings, of our capability of achieving great things and THAT is important for future generations TOO. It's humanity's source of spirituality. What we do to our planet is wrong, but so is this. 2 wrongs don't make one right. To think that the end justifies the means is what the most atrocious people in history have agreed on. If you are capable of spray painting something that came out of someone's soul, something that GIVES our world soul, I highly doubt you are a good person, even if you don't damage it. If you want to raise awareness, I beg you to find more creative and less lazy ways to do it.

A 27th climate convention, and sad statistics for China
By Nassim Belhadj
From November 6th to 18th, 2022, COP27 will be held in Sharm el-Sheik on the shores of the Red Sea in Egypt. This international conference on climate change aims to solve environmental issues, particularly in polluting countries such as China. We will therefore see what the objectives of the COP 27 are and to what extent China is a polluting country.
An international conference:
The COP is an international conference on climate change bringing together 195 countries. The first edition of this grouping took place in 1995 in Berlin. Today, it takes place in Egypt. During this edition, the report will be made on the efforts of all the countries, in the fight for the climate since the last edition of the COP in 2021 in Glasgow. The main objectives of this gathering are the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions, adaptation to climate change and climate financing. All this, with the aim of limiting the rise in temperature to 2 degrees by the end of the century. However, the worst pupil of this COP will undoubtedly be China. Because it is the most polluting country in the world.

An economic and industrial boom, but pollution that goes with it:
The rise of China began in the early 1970s. With a significant acceleration in various fields such as: industry, the economy, or even urban planning. Indeed in 1975 in China there were 5 cities with more than 10 million inhabitants, in 2021 there were 33 cities with more than 10 million inhabitants. Many agglomerations have thus emerged: Shenzhen, Shanghai or even Hong Kong. Today it is customary to say that everything comes from China and for good reason. Your phone, microwave or your sweater probably comes from this country. However, all this progress and expansion comes at a cost to the planet. China is the first polluting country in the world ahead of the United States and India. The air is so polluting in some metropolises like Beijing or Chongqing. Breathing without a mask smoking equivalence 3 packs of cigarettes per day. On a global scale, 32 million tons of CO2 are released per year, China alone releases 9.9 million, or almost 1/3 alone. This country also produces 1.8 billion tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions per year.

The question of Chinese pollution will therefore most certainly be discussed, with a view to reducing pollution in this country. In order to relieve and preserve our planet.

I am not under the delusion that I will change anyone's mind on who they vote for, but I am going to ask every person that does not want a Trump, a Mitch McConnell, or a Marjorie Taylor-Green like individual in office and wants the country to keep moving forward and not get stuck in endless litigation gridlock to vote on Tuesday. No matter what. VOTE LIKE IT IS YOUR JOB. Keep progress moving forward.
