Okay so the words he mouthed in that one clip is "One day you're going to die" Which is a lyric to Memento Mori [another ww song]
Which first of all, means that Memento Mori is very likely one of the next songs in the power hour
And second, all the bits referenced in Nerd are fully there! Red being one he did in the past [or what he was doing at that moment with the Cage line] & Green being references to the next two power hours after it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But then like, whats the last power hour???? Cos there's no more lyrics that are referenced I don't think?

Assassin's Creed fic 👀 I am always a sucker for (good) Desmond Miles fic, hell yeah, would 100% read those if you posted them.
👀 👉👈 you're my new favourite, anon. this isn't close to being done but i'm very fond of it so here's a lil preview~ inspired by esama's study of flight, but with a twist! (gen, time travel/reincarnation, found family, william miles' a+ parenting, accidental subterfuge, desmond goes by miles mostly)
Inhaling a careful breath, Ezio pauses half a flight from their destination and Leonardo halts on the step above him, frown deepening in concern. “Ezio?” he prompts, when he still doesn’t say anything.
Ezio sighs. “We have thirteen recruits now,” he explains, turning to lean his back against the staircase wall; the cool temperature of the stone actually calms him somewhat and allows him to go on, “He’s been with us a few months, now.”
Tilting his head curiously, Leonardo bends closer to him. “I thought you had stopped recruiting for the time being.”
“I had.” Ezio rubs over his face quickly, such discomfort usually unsafe to display so openly — then again, Leonardo is hardly his enemy. “One of my discepoli, Adele, noticed him first.”
  “ ‘Noticed him’?”
“... In my defense, I was away on a long assignment.”
Leonardo just looks bewildered, an expression that’s usually quite amusing to see on the man, but Ezio can only cough awkwardly.
“He, ah, was here a week before anyone thought to question him.”
His old friend blinks slowly at him, Ezio can almost see the calculations happening in his mind, before his whole countenance brightens enough to make Ezio wince.
“You mean he infiltrated the Brotherhood? And nobody noticed?” he asks gleefully. “Oh, Ezio.”
Refusing to flush in embarrassment, Ezio crosses his arms with a humph. “As I said, I wasn’t in the hideout at the time. Geniuses some of my recruits may be, but they all thought I had sent him here. Adele was the one to notice he had previous training, and asked him where he had met me.” Letting out a long breath, Ezio does smile, just a little. “The whelp didn’t even deny having snuck in, ’said that this is where he wants to be and was tired of waiting for chance to put him in my path, or I in his.”
Leonardo laughs brightly, moving to rest against the wall across from Ezio. “And Machiavelli didn’t kill him immediately?”
“No, Valeria convinced them all to keep it quiet until I returned from my contract, the little hellions. She even used me as a meat shield when Niccolò finally found out.” Ezio loves his recruits to distraction, they’re his brothers and sisters and siblings and he would gladly die for any one of them. He would also like to never face down Machiavelli’s sword and rarely-used hidden blade ever again. Once was already in excess.
  “And the recruit?”
“Miles defended himself, of course. At least long enough for Niccolò to become intrigued by his skill.” He’s still testing the theory, but Ezio is fairly certain even the rank of millite is too low for him, though why Miles would be hiding his prowess is a concern all on its own.
Leonardo has known Ezio far too long, and far too well to not guess at his unsaid meaning, his lips tugging back into a thoughtful frown. “You think he was trained by another Assassin?”
“I’m not sure yet,” he admits with a sigh. “He certainly wasn’t trained by any of our branches.”
“Miles, Miles Miles,” Leonardo muses to the sloped ceiling. “Unusual name. Germanic? Or French, perhaps?”
Ezio had been considering contacting his brothers in Spain, despite being almost positive that Miles wasn’t trained by them; he hadn’t even considered the French branch. Actually, did the French branch even exist anymore? He thinks he recalls hearing of its decimation around the time of the Inquisition.
“There’s a thought,” he agrees slowly, rubbing his jaw. “I’d have to ask la Volpe or another older member about their fighting styles, I only ever crossed blades with Helene, and she hadn’t been an Assassin in many years by then.”
“Ah, Helene... Dufranc, was it? Yes, yes, the lovely rogue from Barcelona. ‘Mon petit Assassin’, if I recall correctly?”
Glowering, Ezio kicks his friend’s foot at the reminder of the nickname he only escaped upon return to Italy. Some of his Spanish brothers still tease him about it in their letters. “I regret ever telling you about that,” he grumbles, much to Leonardo’s amusement.
Though, he quickly sobers and meets Ezio’s eyes under his hood, pinning him there easily. “Why am I here, old friend?” he asks, softly, but leaving no room to wriggle out of the answer again.
He really isn’t making this easy, is he?
Ezio can only hold Leonardo’s gaze for a few moments more, before he has to look away. “Miles is a bastard from a Veneziana whore. He never met his father.” He needn’t look to know Leonardo gets it immediately, but Ezio still goes on, “My students aren’t nearly as subtle as they think they are, and I do not know if it would have occurred to me without their whispers.”
Leonardo understands this immediately, too. “Ah, does he not bear significant resemblance to you, then?”
Ezio shakes his head. “My recruits seem to think so, but I’m afraid I’ve gotten far too in my head about it and am no longer sure if what I see is simply what I want to see.”
“Oh, Ezio,” Leonardo sighs, standing straight to reach across the narrow space between them and put a hand on his shoulder. “I would be glad to meet him, old friend. Then, after, we will sort all this out, just as we always have.”
Despite himself, Ezio finds himself relieved by the comfort, and reaches up to squeeze Leonardo’s hand, before removing it and stepping away. “Thank you,” he murmurs, and nods to the bottom of the stairs. “Miles is usually sparring one of his brothers or sisters around now, come with me.”
“Or siblings,” Leonardo reminds him with a soft laugh, following at his heel.

I wonder why Soul doesn't ever stop events in the loop from happening? Like, if he remembers the loops, he should remember the events. And if he remembers the events, he could stop the more serious ones like our dearly named Juno Incident. So why doesn't he?
One reason I've seen flying around is that its set in stone always. That one way or another someone will shoot a gun. That ones fun, but its also pretty limited by true time loop variants of HMS typically. Also I have a personal distaste for deterministic worldviews lmao I want them to have some free will.
A second one I've seen flying about is that putting off certain events results in worse ones. Like if Heart doesn't shoot at the Sun with a gun, something worse will happen during the loop to make up for it. This one's also fun to play with but uhhhh tends to be really really deep into torture porn territory if done wrong.
Third one is pretty limited to Souls deep in the loop soup. Tried and true "He's just given up it repeats anyways even if he changes things". I like this one. Very nihilistic. Typical for Souls that have been Through the Horrors for thousands of loops and are now just Going Through The Motions.
I've also seen some analysis that claim that Soul ALSO forgets the exact events of the loop after a certain point in the album. He only remembers their existence, and not the events contained inside. This one, very fun, very rarely used, truly people need to get on this train more you could so easily make him blame himself for not remembering what might happen and being unable to stop it. So much Soul angst potential.
Anyways that was a really long way to lead into what I think is why. I commit the Unholy Combination of "fuck it multiple". Ehhh people who read my fics might have seen me describe it a couple of times already.
Basically I think that he starts of only remembering the existence of the loops, ala option 3 mentioned above. But as events happen he Remembers every looped version of it happening post-event. Not before it happens, not as its happening, after its already happened and nothing can be changed, and suddenly he can remember the times upon times that the same event has happened before. Also entirely viable in a "the loop is just a loop of mental health" versions where time does not truly go backwards.
So much space for Soul angst potential. He doesn't know its coming so its a surprise every single time and the reaction is his natural first reaction. He remembers after and hates that he didn't know early enough to stop it. He knows every slightly different way an event has gone. As the loops pile up so do the number of memories he regains each time and isn't that just fodder for Soul being Too Tired the longer a loop drags? Weight of the world, weight of ever-increasing memories.
(ALSO as a side point please play more with the "The brain is not made to hold this many memories" concept please please it is so easy to make him Tired and Old and Nihilistic and not doing anything anymore, but way more fun to have him actively fight that mindset and try so hard to stay optimistic. The optimistic one especially is so fun.)

I know the whole thing about demigods not living very long is horrifying and very dark for a kids series but I understand why it was done from a writing perspective. If there were a bunch of adult demigods lying around it would make no sense for all the stuff done in the series to be done by kids. But then HOO happened. And there were adult demigods. And it still doesn't make sense for kids to be doing these things when there are grown adults with mortgages and fully developed brains.

Hi!! I love your commentary and intellect so I wanted to ask you a question: what would you say to a man that was like: ‘Y’all love to say 90% of violent crime is perpetuated by men but a) that’s only reported crime and b) that’s because when women perpetuate violence, it’s not seen as violence/not reported.’
(If you don’t mind answering this! I’d have an idea of what to say but I’m not as well-read yet.)
I'd probably start by telling them that the primary victims of violence by women are other women and children, not men, and if they aren't amenable to accepting that point, I'd just disengage from the entire conversation since there's no point yelling at a wall haha.
But like really. I don't condone physical violence regardless of who's enacting it but there's a huge difference between someone my size hitting a man and a man hitting me simply because the average man is 50 pounds heavier than me and stronger because they're male and that absolutely impacts their ability to hurt others! Obviously men aren't biologically wired to be violent but ignoring that point is ludicrous.

alright no werewolf vampire General history of beef. what about other creatures 👀
hate 2 disappoint but there is not a ton of general beef! there are Attitudes and some of them are negative but nobody really hates anybody else because that's just bad for survival.
as of rn there are four main groups of paranormal folk but subgroups exist in all of them:
vampires- at their worst, they get the "leech" label, sustaining yourself off of humans tends to irk people. sirens tend to like them because they are the only non-siren group capable of withstanding/counteracting siren song. they get along with werewolves because they both tend to get the short end of the pop culture stick and they both share enhanced speed/strength/senses
werewolves- when properly socialized from a young age (sorry jason), werewolves tend to grow up to be well-respected members of society, with the monthly transformation perceived as showing a sense of self-control rather than uncontrollable animalism. everyone loves a werewolf who's not a threat. the word "but" hangs in the air at all times.
witches- generally seen as the most "humanoid" paranormal group, witches have the easiest time blending into human society. some of them, the ones who don't train their powers, assimilate almost completely. there's a little bit of resentment from those who can't blend in so easily, but they're helpful in a pinch since magic is very pliable.
sirens- dude why the hell aren't more people scared of sirens in this universe i cannot for the life of me figure it out and i am writing this shit. they're viewed as the funny convincing group because apparently everyone forgot that they used to EAT PEOPLE. luckily they don't have the vampire thing where people are a necessary part of their diet so they get away with enjoying rare steak and being persuasive but HOW IS EVERYONE NOT FREAKING OUT.

Tagged by @tawaifeddiediaz to answer this question:
What makes you (not your intended audience, but YOU) happy about your writing?
I put a lot of effort into writing realistic dialogue so when it rings true, I feel especially accomplished. I tend to act out my scenes or talk them out - apologies to my neighbours - to ensure that the lines flow naturally.

Okay now I'm very curious about everyone lol
But first why does Skylar have magic but Lukas doesn't?
Okay so this is. Like dangerously close to spoiler territory. But I'm gonna answer anyways in the least spoiler-y way possible:
Lukas *theoretically* has magic.
Basically, magic in this universe is mostly genetic and is passed down through families. And Lukas and Skylar have extremely similar genetics, so technically Lukas does have the capacity for magic. But magic is also generally activated. It usually requires some kind of external stimulus for it to make itself known, and it can very seldom be accessed before that. And some people's magic is buried far deeper than others, hence requiring more stimuli for it to appear. And in this universe, magic has become both far less common genetically and far less commonly known. Many people just don't know it exists, and most magic users have kept it that way for probably a few centuries, fearing the potential witch-hunt that could follow because magical universe history and all that which is. Another tangent.
So Lukas is magical in theory. He has the innate capacity for it. But he doesn't quite have access to it. Skylar, however, unlocked their magic as a kid, and has become quite practiced in it because [spoiler related information goes here], hence how powerful she is.
I hope that makes sense, and I'm 99% certain I didn't spoil anything there, but I hope that's a satisfactory answer! I'm really enjoying answering ur questions by the way anon this is super fun :)
Have good day lovelies <3

Reading AYW things has me thinking about Eddie and Reader sniffing baby Eliza right after they bring her home and she’s got that fresh baby smell and Luke and Ryan are like “what are they doing?”
-cj. @cheesewritings
Just out here fueling my own baby fever. Please enjoy some lil baby Eliza 💕
Words: 1.2k
[As You Wish masterlist]
Tumblr media
Less than a month has gone by since you’ve given birth to your and Eddie’s baby girl and yet so much has changed. Your hormones still give you mood swings from time to time. Eddie feels a bit more tired than usual between being up at odd hours of the night and trying to make sure you and Eliza are being taken care of while still keeping Ryan and Luke’s normal weekly routine going. The boys dote over their baby sister, but their sleep has definitely been impacted as well by the high-pitched wailing that comes just down the hall every night. One morning at breakfast before school, Luke fell asleep with half of his face in his bowl of Corn Flakes.
But every small discomfort is well worth it to have the most beautiful baby girl you’ve ever seen. Her eyes already threaten to be as wide and doe-like as her father’s and you know you’ll be in deep trouble then. The soft wispy baby hairs on her head are similar in color to Eddie’s and her eyebrows have the same arch as his. Eliza absolutely has your nose and lips though. Your husband swears it’s as if God copy and pasted the features right from you to your daughter. Whenever she smiles though, you see her brothers. It may still be gas for her at this age, but the smile that upturns her pretty pink mouth is the spitting image of what you see on the faces of your sons. Munson charm in full effect.
Evenings have been the most unpredictable so far. Will Eliza be awake? Asleep? Hungry? Fussy? Happy? Content? Not to mention what Eddie or the boys will be like.
Tonight is a good night, though. The boys are down the hall playing video games in Ryan’s room, and you and Eddie are cuddled up on the couch, Eliza snuggly cradled between your arms. Spider-Man is playing on the television, but you’d both forgotten about the movie the second that your daughter woke up, about fifteen minutes into the superhero flick.
“Oh, look what a big mouth you have!” you coo as your daughter releases a tiny yawn, as if she hasn’t spent most of her day sleeping. You envy the hours of rest infants need.
Eddie gazes down at her adoringly and the love shining in his eyes threatens to have your heart burst right through your ribs. It’s no secret that he’s always wanted a daughter and it’s still dizzying to think that you’re the one to give that to him.
Soft, gurgling baby noises come from the baby’s mouth as she looks back and forth from you to her father. Both you and Eddie chuckle when she lifts her small arms above her head, then on the way down stops to stick her tiny fingers in her mouth.
“God, she’s perfect,” Eddie muses, and you’re not sure if you were meant to hear it or he was just thinking aloud. Either way, he’s right. Every little thing about her has captured your heart.
Slowly, Eddie leans forward and presses his lips to her soft forehead.
“And she smells so good,” Eddie adds, making you giggle.
“I know!” you agree. “What is it about that new baby smell?”
Gently, you lift Eliza so her head is more level with yours and Eddie’s. As one, you both lean in and inhale the scent wafting off your daughter. The baby doesn’t seem to mind, but it looks like she’s trying to figure out what you’re doing by the way she keeps looking at you. And she’s not the only one.
“What are they doing?” Luke mutters to his older brother from where they stand off to the side of the hallway connecting the living room to the rest of the house.
“Smelling her,” Ryan answers with a shrug.
“Uh, why?” Luke furrows his brows as he watches the scene on the couch in confusion.
“Seeing if she needs a diaper change? I don’t know,” Ryan says.
“But they’re smiling. No one would ever smile around one of Eliza’s dirty diapers,” Luke says, having plenty of experience to back up that claim.
“Maybe they washed her hair,” Ryan offers with another shrug. “I don’t know, I guess she just smells good.”
Luke’s quiet for a moment before he tilts his head up to look at his brother.
“Do they ever smell you?”
“No,” Ryan says with a sigh, this conversation already exhausting him.
“Do they smell me when I’m not looking?” Luke asks, more rhetorical this time.
“Yes, we all do,” Ryan goads. “We’ve been meaning to talk to you about taking more baths.”
The younger Munson boy glowers at his brother and stomps past him into the living room.
“Um, does she smell?” Luke asks as he approaches the couch.
“Yeah,” Eddie says, looking up at his son with a grin. “She’s got that new baby smell. C’mere.”
He gestures for Luke to lean in and smell the top of Eliza’s head. The boy does and when he pulls back, he’s smiling.
“She kind of smells like cheese.”
The words make you giggle, and you lay your head on your husband’s shoulder as Eddie cradles Eliza against his chest.
“Ryan! She smells like cheese!”
“What?” Ryan asks as he walks over.
“Yeah, but like actual cheese. Not a Cheeto or the stuff in a can.”
Ryan frowns. “Didn’t you just eat a whole bottle of Cheez Wiz yesterday?”
“You did what?” Eddie asks, raising an eyebrow at his youngest son.
“I said it wasn’t real cheese,” Luke says to Ryan, ignoring his father completely. “Not that it wasn’t delicious. Now smell,” Luke urges him.
Ryan gives his little brother a skeptical look, but when you give him a reassuring nod, he leans in and sniffs her hair.
“It’s like…baby powder. But…I don’t know, fresher?” Ryan isn’t sure how to describe it, but he certainly doesn’t think cheese is the word he’d use.
“Do all babies have it?” Luke asks as he takes a seat next to you.
“Most do,” Eddie tells him. “You both did.”
“When did I lose it? Or do I still have it?” Luke tries to yank one of his curls straight so he can get a good whiff of it, but to no avail.
“It goes away after a few weeks or months,” Eddie says.
“What causes it?” Ryan asks.
Your husband smiles and you can tell he loves the boys asking him these questions. He’d sit here and talk to them about Eliza—or anything, really—all day.
“I don’t know, pal,” Eddie says.
“It’s like new car smell!” Luke adds.
“But better,” you say, poking his tummy in his most ticklish spot. He giggles and squirms around at your side. Once he’s calmed, Luke slumps against your arm and watches Eliza fuss a little in Eddie’s arms.
“Even when she loses that baby smell,” Luke says, poking you in the thigh with a small bony forefinger, “I hope she grows up to smell like you and not Daddy.”
Eddie’s jaw drops open as he turns his head towards Luke. You want to make some sort of witty remark, but you can’t think of any. Plus, you’re laughing way too hard to speak.
