This is the bed from Lon Chaney's Phantom of the Opera and Sunset Boulevard movies! It was made for the King of Spain to give to French actress & singer, Gaby de Slys. Universal bought it on her death in 1920 and it was used in several movies, most notably in The Phantom of the Opera (1925).
2001 is sort of “the” artsy film and it’s well earned that title, but possibly my favorite detail is not the cinematography but the sound design. Specifically the breathing in the space scenes.
The emphasis on breathing whenever they’re helmeted or extravehicular is overwhelming, it doesn’t stop. You can find yourself syncing too it if focused on the scene, it’s great because it represents the lack of sound in vacuum (at least on a scale we can hear). The emphasis is also great because it makes the impact all the more startling when it just… stops.
Rip Frank one of my favorite moments is your death.
I don’t really have to think, I just know me and him are connected universally. He is so scrummy yummy, like I feel like he is soup (don’t ask where I got that annotation..) fourteen year old me used to watch fight club religiously..so when I started watching Wes Anderson and slowly figured Edward was a reoccurring actor..you can guess how ecstatic I was.
ALSO..his voice 🤤 I could listen to it for hours.. AND I MEAN HOURS. I think I have a voice kink..just for him. Is that bad..is it bad I find a man nearly 2 decades older than me hot?.. yeah probably but like who really cares? 😋
I tried to put actual symbolism (shocking for me) and creativity into this generation loss edit, so I’d really appreciate if you took a watch! You won’t regret it!
(for legal reasons, that last part was more Making Myself Look Cool, I did not, nor do I, ever claim that you will receive enjoyment from this or any of my edits. 😌 merry genlosing!)
