This year's christmas knit! The "Juniper Jacket" knit in Ask "Fløte" and "Du grønne glitrende", with "Bouquet"-buttons, all from Fabel Knitwear.
A 1930s and 1940s inspired jacket with festive colorwork.
I had to go up two sizes so that it would fit me and my guage. I am very pleased with it, but I learned that I have to loosen up when i knit. Definitely a New Years knit-resolution!
Merry christmas!

And with that, my Christmas knitting is done!!!
This is for my younger brother’s girlfriend-she likes oversized sweaters so the sizing was tricky. I’m really happy with how it came out!
I used one strand of merino wool with two strands of silk mohair. It’s so light and fluffy but really warm-I hope she likes it.

Well, I finally have a Finished Object for FO Friday - the Christmas Knitting is done (and only a few days after Christmas!)
And here I was, worried the cables wouldn't show up in this yarn. They show up wonderfully!

Note to self 🧶🎄
Next year start your Christmas knitting at the beginning of November, even if you're only making a couple of tiny things.
Not only do you need time to choose a pattern and swatch, you need to leave time for the materials you need to be delivered.

The Sesame Street Christmas jumpers have have fit for another year so I finally got actually good pictures! Pretty proud of these considering I basically had to write new charts because the pattern didn’t come in kid sizes

Another Christmas‐knit! The "Fuzzy Pixie Hood" knit in strands of Athena and Mohair Silk in the color "Juvel", tied together with a "Livia Button" from Fabel Knitwear.
A 1940s inspired hood, with a Norwegian fjord and winter landscape in the background.
Still a very merry Christmas to all!

Finished my SIL’s sweater!
It was a new pattern, so I had to try it on to make sure that it didn’t fit wonky-I’m very happy with it! The yarn I used is SO soft. I think she’ll really like it.

Naive sock knitting question:
I want to knit the Mini Stocking by Emily Kintigh. It's cuff-down and uses a simple wedge toe made of SSKs and K2togs.
My problem: The decreases make a really pronounced line along the side of the toe, which is fine in a real pair of socks but I think looks ugly in a stocking ornament to hang on a tree.
My question: Are there different decreases I can use that won't create a ridge like these ones do? Or is that ridge not a result of which decreases are used?
