before it was like, "what a horrifying thing to do to a human being! to take away their autonomy and privacy, all for the sake of profits! to create fake scenarios for them to react to, just to retain viewership! to ruin their happiness just so some corporate entity could harvest money from their very humanity! how could anyone do something so evil?"

and now it's like, "ah, yeah. this is still deeply fucked up, but it's pretty much what every influencer has been doing to their kids for a decade now. probably bad that we've normalized this experience"

Ok we have to talk about s2 moments that make me love Aziraphale even more

- pretending to be a journalist and just like. being as adorable and pure and kind of dumb as Muriel pretending to be a police officer

- going against Heaven to protect Job's children! He questioned Heaven twice, then tried to protect them from Crowley and then actually lied to the archangels to save them. HE WAS WILLING TO FALL FOR IT

- him actually grieving and hugging that jar with the tumour after the ressurectionist told him it was from a seven year old

- "you don't seem his type at all" *eyebrow raise*

- giving away his books! his books!!!!! to help Maggie and Nina

- "Smitten, I believe" *looks smittenly at Crowley*

- "You're being silly!" *adorably soft and tender*

- "well perhaps you could tell me...while we dance" AND HIS HAPPY FACE AND GRABBING CROWLEY BY THE HAND TO DANCE

- "You came to me. I said I would protect you and I will" he is an Angel of his word and even if he doesn't like Gabriel he will protect him! bc he promised it! we support a responsible, empathetic and caring being

- being shocked and putting a hand on Crowley's shoulder when they see Gabriel and Beelzebub together like "oh my, are you seeing what I'm seeing"

- THE SOFT LOOK TO CROWLEY - I MEAN I can't deal with it I can't watch this scene without tearing up (after Gabriel and Beelzebub vanish)

My analysis of Buffy hinged strongly on the fact that she is the Vampire Slayer, and as such is deliberately built to not only withstand but in fact defeat Dracula. And Faith is every bit as much the Slayer as Buffy is.

So let's look at what makes them different. I mentioned that a lot will hinge on whether Buffy takes Dracula seriously as a threat. I think Faith is the more likely of the two of them to get herself into trouble by underestimating Dracula and overestimating her own abilities. She's less likely to pay attention to the input of the locals - she's the vampire expert here. Perhaps counterintuitively, Faith is used to relying only on herself, and so may well assume she can. Buffy is used to relying on her friends, and so thus isolated may better recognize that she's at a disadvantage and proceed with appropriate caution.

In a similar way, I don't see Faith as being as willing or able to affect helplessness, because that's precisely the kind of thing she's insecure about. She doesn't have a "normal life" alterego to lure Dracula into a false sense of security with.

I also think Faith's insecurities are going to be way easier for Dracula to play off of. Her self-doubt and fear of being Second Best. Her fear of helplessness. Her guilt over having failed her Watcher. Her own inner darkness. These things Dracula understands. These things Dracula can use.

(And then the question is: does he get cocky? Does he think he can win her over to his side? A tamed Slayer - wouldn't that be a prize?)

But Faith is also much more guarded! She keeps her defenses up all the time. Her, aha, faith in her own abilities is not misplaced. Her job is to slay vampires and she is very very good at her job!

I think overall Faith can probably take Dracula physically but not psychologically. If it's a fast game Faith wins, if it's a slow game Dracula does. How fast can she find his crypt? Will she have the wherewithal to wait for daylight to take him on?

Okay I think I've solved it. If he sneaks up on her in her room during daylight hours, as he does to Jonathan on May 8th, I think she kills him then. Otherwise she's in for months of psychological torment playing on her deepest insecurities, and who knows how that will turn out. If she attacks him on sight, either upon being picked up by the Calèche or upon entering the Castle, he kills her.

It's honestly a toss-up, but either way she's in for a bad time

The thing that draws me most to this fandom, and the things that makes it unique, is that by the mere nature of the works we love, everyone's Arda is different. And not just in the usual headcanon-y ways that are typical of every story, but even down to important plot and characterization points.

Who is Gil-Galad? What is the Oath and what does it have power to do? What really is the Dagor Dagorath? How do the Laws Of The Universe work?

And beyond that- what parts of HoME do you pick and choose? LaCE? Does anyone try and work with Tolkien's horrendous math? Have you taken parts of your Arda from older or other worlds, with the Cottage of Lost Play and the exile of the Gnomes?

Have you given names to the wives and daughters? What do they mean- who are they? Mother-names or father-names for those who only had one?

I just really love how even when two interpretations of the same world seem utterly incompatible, they aren't. I'd love to see other additions/headcanons!

Yemen is the only place giving aid to Palestine, and now they are losing aid for themselves as a poor country.

Congo is bleeding, children are enslaved to mine the materials that go into our phones.

Even if there is a ceasefire, the people of Gaza will have no place to return to, and the occupation will not end with a ceasefire. But we cannot lose hope, and we certainly can not forget.

I want you to imagine. What are you doing today? How much are you vocalizing what is happening in the world?
