"More VHS 'Screenshots' Wakkos Springfield Score"
"Come see the Warners and the Simpsons family as youve never seen them before! This Saturday on April 1! Only on Fox!" another proposed tagline.
These are more recovered, totally not fake, screenshots from a lost crossover special of Animaniacs and Simpsons made circa 1996. It was canceled mid production due to unknown production issues, and totally not by a bored artist who wanted to have another go at creating VHS screen captures. No, its not based on a crossover fanfic I still never got around to writing.
Okay, maybe it is. Again.
Since everyone seemed to like the last ones I did:
I figured Id do some more.
To recap from the last post, the story behind this would have been a AU crossover fic where Yakko and Wakko Warner are former street hustlers turned detectives who team up with Wiggum PI and Skinny Boy Skinner.
What followed would be a series of hijinks where Wakko proved his worth as a detective; Krusty the comedian on run after being framed for a serious crime, The Wanrer Brothers searching for their missing Warner sister, all of it tied with together with some involvement with the Springfield Mafia and a few other familar faces.
As you can see, the story would be goofy as far as plot goes but definitely darker and dramatic as far as tone goes. Lots of action, mystery, and definitely some slapstick violence.
These shots along with the corresponding quotes (from top to bottom)give more inight into the special that was never meant to be. Or, it will raise way more questions than answers.
Wiggum PI: "Alright, Let's just let's settle this nice and easy..."
Yakko: "Ten against four huh? I like those odds!"
Dot: "Whats he doing here? What did you do to him?! Tony, you promised!"
Fat Tony: "You lied to us, Dot. I believe that nullifies any agreements we had.
Krusty: "Does this mean I'm finally not a suspect anymore?"
Wiggum PI: (shakes head)"Uh uh"
Keusty: (groans ) "So Nurse, This means you and I are back tog-"
Nurse: "Nope"
Krusty: (groans louder)
Wakko: "... hes smart, talks funny and even better, he hates clowns! But mostly of all, hes gonna help us! Meet my new special freind!"
Wakko's Special Freind : "Hello gentlemen"
Krusty: "Oh crap..."
Bart: "Why do you hate me, God?"

I know this might be controversial to say because this character is a cop and not a very good or smart one but, can we agree that in the Simpsons, Chief Wiggum is a really good dad to Ralph? He doesn’t force his son to try to be “normal,” or force him to do stuff he isn’t comfortable with, and he plays along with his imaginary games and honestly seems proud of how good of a storyteller his son is. I’m meh on Wiggum as a character but the scene where he talks to Marge about Ralph playing Wiggle puppy genuinely makes me smile. He’s just so accepting of his son and that’s wonderful.
