This drama is the type where either fans will love it or hate it. The storyline narrative deals heavy on feminism and in my opinion does it flawlessly in a historically fictional setting. It’s hilarious (satire in this is on point), romantic, and entertaining. The acting all around is phenomenal with such an amazing cast. I actually was more for the second main couple then the mains though (Chang Long/5th prince, Liu Ling Zi ) don’t get me wrong loved Bai Jing Ting and Tian Xi Wei in the first half of the drama somewhere in the middle half though, they lost the spark a tiny bit for me especially with the whole slight spoiler (‘new wife part). This is definitely a recommend for me. Loved it to bits, even if it may get sketchy with the main leads during the middle.

Drama: New Life Begins (2022)
Genre: Historical, Romance, Comedy, Life
My Rating: 9/10
The Good:
Side Characters / Couples
The side characters are so lovable! The way Su Shen talks and act! I grew to love Song Wu, she's so adorable. Plus, with the other Song Wu~ The girls hanging out together were fun to watch.
Shangguan and Prince Yin Qi couple can make me either cry or laugh out loud. I really enjoy their bickering dynamic. Then there's the quiet couple being relatable and cute.
Hilarious
Heartwarming
So many scenes that make me feel warm and touching scenes that make me cry.
Character Developments
Several character developments were shown. A playboy becoming the most loyal person, a strict person becoming more lenient, etc.
Pure Friendships
Friends sacrificing for each other, being supportive and sweet.
Villains
I hate the villains, which means the actors did a good job.
Satisfying Ending
The Bad:
Side Characters were More Captivating
The main leads are cute but I'm more invested on the side characters. While watching scenes between the main leads, I'll be wondering about the side characters and if they'll show up again.
Did Not Serve Justice to the Villains
After seeing the main villain verbally and physically abusing people, he deserves to suffer at the end. However, he became somewhat passive and calm which feels out of character as he usually would scream or throw things when angry. The villain's end wasn't satisfying.
Some Episodes were Draggy Episodes
Overall, a wholesome and funny drama. My #1 couple of this drama is Shangguan and Prince Yin Qi 🤗.

I'm thinking of Chen Xiao as Jing Beiyuan in a modern incarnation where he's *even more* tired and just wants to (and is champion at) 躺平。
But, I guess Wu Xi turns up and so if he needs to be, he can find it in himself to be ruthless.
Don't know who Wu Xi looks like in this AU. I don't know.

The Brightest Star in the Sky 9
Story: 8
Acting: 10
Chemistry: 10 👌
Comparable to: Sh**ting Stars (kdrama); Tsumari Suki tte iitai n Dakedo (jdrama)
Is it predictable yes. Is it a cheesy cliche drama, double yes. If you love a good idol love/hate story with beautiful music that is highly well written this is your drama. Yes it won’t be for everyone, but I throughly love it. It’s more or less a switch your brain off drama and sit back relax and enjoy the romcom. The main leads have amazing chemistry together. In fact I wished they had more romantic scenes together. It’s a slow burn romance with a lot of episodes (44). The female lead character is also written in a little naively thick (meaning she doesn’t realize her own feelings nor his ugh so it does get to be a tad bit frustrating at times). Nevertheless the OST is beautiful and overall a great drama to watch.
