My favorite parts of this week’s episode were Sam, Sarah, Sharon and the Dora Milaje.
Sticking to the positives.

TOP THREE POLY SHIPS????? 👉👈
*HEAVY BREATHING*
SO FIRST- oh shit a couple weeks ago I’d have said my partners but then one cheated on me  I CAN’T PUT THESE IN A RANKED ORDER BUT
1. Sherlock, John, Mary. (Vee group, John centric) I kinda hate what they did with Mary, but from day one she was like, oh my boyfriend’s boyfriend is back and never tried to get in Sherlock’s way or get possessive of John Plus, the Sherlock-Mary friendship was honestly so legendary-
2. Whatever the fuck Tulio, Miguel, and Chel had goin’ on, yknow?
3. TEAM CAP *hyperventilating* so first of all, Natasha gets to fuck and cuddle whoever she wants to, just as a treat, but I’m going to focus on Sam, Steve, and Bucky.  No tfatws spoilers because I still need to watch it: Stucky, definitely a thing. A big beautiful, soulmates in love thing ant then Bucky gets yeeted of a train. Steve is alone, meets Sam *queues that one post about how Steve had to improvise his running route just to see Sam* and he’s kind, and different, and understanding, and he falls for him. But then Bucky is back. And both of his worlds collide and by some cosmic miracle, it balances out. (another vee because I said so) Now Stevie the little bitch ditched everything and we get to watch two metamors slowly fall in love with each other.
THANK YOU for giving my ambiam heart a chance to scream out into the void!

TFATWS episode 3
I didn’t love Bucky not consulting Sam on the break out before asking him to trust him on it
Weird that Zemo’s apparently been reading “White Fragility” in prison. Also weird that he and Sam bonded over Marvin Gaye (I liked that moment a lot)
Sam having to drink the Smiling Tiger (I think?) was hilarious. He also looked really good this episode.
I love my wife Sharon ❤️ And boy was my girl screwed over after Civil War. I fell even more in love with her in this episode and she was a total badass! Sharon…. if you’re single, call me?
I think part of the test for being a good Cap is having good hero/villain chemistry with your villains and Sam’s 2/2 right now with Batroc and Zemo (who I kinda loved in this episode. He’s a great villain).
The ending kinda hits on what makes this such a rough episode Bucky wise. Wakanda took him in, helped him at his lowest and hid him before Infinity War. And he didn’t seem to think about them at all when he decided to break Zemo out. It strikes me as really insensitive, to be honest
I’m also wary of being Sleepy Hollowed (which is what I use as a shorthand to explain when a show lures you in thinking a black character was going to be bigger and then they completely break that promise). This episode made me wonder if the build up is to Bucky getting the shield. I hope not and I trust the writing team right now not to do that, but the talk about what the shield means seems to lead to one of 2 options:
1) Sam decides to carry it aware of the weight and burden of the responsibility it comes with. He adds a new layer to the legacy that has historically only been afforded to white men. Which would mean this series was about how different the path to being a hero is for black heroes. Which would be a wonderful addition to the MCU because the only black heroic origin story we’ve seen so far is T’Challa’s. 1 black origin story in a sea of white origin stories.
2) Bucky steals the shield back and becomes Cap because he believes in what the shield stands for and can get past all the blood shed for over the years. Which would mean this series was about him overcoming his guilt to take on the shield. And Sam is just here… to help?
So, there’s no question which path I would prefer - and also it would be really cruel and insensitive for Marvel to go through all this build up to Sam being Cap and then not deliver on it. I’m pretty sure that’s not the case but the talk around the shield is kinda all over the place for me.

I watched TFAWS episode 1 and I loved it!
I was so surprised by how much from the comics they put into it and I was so grateful that they understood Cap and the shield’s legacy in a way the films honestly never have. I was so glad to get so much of Sam and Bucky’s lives when they’re not in the field. I kept waiting for it to cut to someone else because I never ever thought we’d be lucky enough to get so much focus on them.
The only thing I didn’t like was that we’re only getting 6 episodes. I would gladly double that because I really love the pacing and vibe of this show.
What did you all think?

TFATWS Episode 5 was my favorite in the entire series
Honestly, I’m sad I had to wait 4 episodes to get it, but I really enjoyed it!
- Sam! Sam Wilson! They finally gave us more on his history, his and Sarah’s relationship, and seeing him with his nephews. I had been waiting SO long to see him training with the shield and I got really emotional watching him grow more confident about using it. He’s going to be an amazing Captain America!
- I loved Sam calling in the neighborhood Avengers and fixing up the boat. Sam made a promise to Sarah that he was going to help her take care of it and he fulfilled it. Sam has been my favorite character in this series from the start and I that’s not changed.
- Joaquin! I loved seeing him again! I wonder if he’s going to become the Falcon in the future. I really love his chemistry with Sam. Honestly... it always seems like he’s flirting with Sam
- It was an... interesting(?) choice to have Lemar be John’s breaking point. Criticisms of that plot device aside (it’s shitty. There was no reason to kill him,) it’s interesting because I have never once doubted that John cared about Lemar. I thought I might’ve been looking at their relationship through rose colored glasses because they had a mutual care and respect that was... not present with Sam and Bucky at the time. But John grieved him, he wants to avenge him, and it’s an interesting motivation. I don’t know why his go to move is decapitation? He really tried to Game of Thrones Sam’s head off in that warehouse. Still a shitty person - despite what his apologists try to say.
- The warehouse fight was well choreographed. I LOVED all of Sam’s moves with the wings. They truly outshined the marvel films with the way they use Sam’s wings and his fighting skills in this show. I loved seeing him and Bucky work to together to take John down
- I was so glad Bucky finally apologized. It took a while, but I was glad to see it and that he explicitly told Sam what Walker did wasn’t his fault. They stopped beating around the bush and had him outright say he and Steve never thought about what it would be like for a black man to try to be Captain America.
- Sam’s conversation with Isaiah almost made me cry. This man has suffered so much and his life was stolen from him. He will never get those years back and it’s heartbreaking.
- This episode, Bucky was mostly here to help and support Sam which was a very welcome change from the last 4 episodes where it was the other way around.
So, yeah, this was my favorite episode of the series. I’m sad it doesn’t look like we’ll get to see that much of Sam and Bucky building off of the bond they started forming in this episode
