#cheery happy optimistic men

Text
how i think the boxers were like in their teen years
was resting bc im sick but punchy men cant wait
Glass joe - was wayy more optimistic and cheery, knew how to cheer himself up, also dyed his hair blonde & lightened it pretty often so his hair was crusty and broke like glass (pun very intended )and hated his childhood photos, used to make fun of people who wear turtleneck sweaters but that didnt age well, looks back at his teen years with sadness
Von Kaiser - was very stern & cold, had a very shitty mustache and a bowl cut, wore actual boxing shorts before his overalls, had very oversized boots that he still wears today because he grew into them, shrieks in embarrasment anytime someone pulls up his teenage photos
Disco Kid - actually used to be a dancing coach and primarily did boxercise, once he started boxing he dropped boxercise and went all out on boxing, used to grow out his hair but cut if off since it distracted him, had his natural hair color, looks back at his teen years with nostalgia (and regret since he cant really cut back on the hair dye now, got into it because of joe)
King Hippo - was actually very tiny, Just shot up in height someday during his teen years, also had a light er voice and a crown that was wayy too big for him, it was passed down from his dad so he still has it & loves it with his entire heart, his boxing shorts still fell down a lot though, looks back at his teen years with joy since he thinks he used to look adorable
Piston Hondo - had longer hair and used to strut his shit, was more of a dickwad, had a belt and did less meditation, mellowed out pretty well since he used to go nuts in the ring flying from place to place, rolls his eyes anytime someone brings up his teen years
Bear Hugger - had a baby face and couldnt really grow a beard, so he had his cheeks pinched very often, used to be happy and still is happy, also met mrs bear's mom at this age during a foraging trip, looks back at his teen photos very happily, if he could go back in time he would pinch his teen-selves cheeks
Great Tiger - his magic sucked ass, his clones were distorted, kept flickering in & out of reality and couldnt stay more than a few seconds, didnt have his mustache & had a buzzcut so he looks back at his photos with anger because of his shitty hair when he didnt have his turban
Don Flamenco - wasnt balding & had longer hair that was wavy, used to be smaller so he was underestimated a lot, had just started bullfighting on the side, looks back at his teen years with sadness, mainly for his hair and lack of anger
Aran Ryan - OHOHHOHH this man wins the award for the worst teenage photos, he had a skaterboy era and the worst hair ever, had a very shitty beard that was growing only on one side, anytime someone pulls those pictures up he runs away
Soda Popinski - Literally unrecognizable, had light brown hair & a buzzcut, didnt drink much soda except for rough matches and was built like a twig, once he started upping the amp on the soda his hair fell out a bit and he got ripped, looks back at his teen photos and laughs at his buzzcut
Bald Bull - oh you think the current bull is scary? You should have seen him then!! He had curly hair and was small but a lot faster, he also headbutted people a lot more but stopped because of health issues, his hair fell out from anger & ripping them out from stress, looks back at his teen years with nostalgia because he missed having hair
Super Macho Man - Literally your average surfer dude, went for the dilfbaiting when he turned 29, dressed like a fratboy and had blonde hair + used spray tans, looks back at his photos and calls himself "gnarly"
Mr Sandman - was wayy tinier except for his arms and used to have glasses, he switched to contacts after having his 19th pair broken, likes making fun of his old photos, also had braces so he was the 🤓 emoji irl for a while

Wah this is a little embarrassing to write down but could I get an obey me match up? I’m super obsessed w Nightbringer atm haha
I go by they/them, I’m 5’10 and I tend to dress mostly feminine but I’m also super hairy LMAO (shaving is too much work), I’m not too confident about my appearance but yknow it’s whateves as long as I get to wear bright and sparkly stuff looool
I’m a capricorn? Dunno much about zodiac stuff, but I would describe myself as a cheery optimistic person!! I like joking around and being silly and I’m described as childish quite a bit 🤷 I can be a bit shy and nervous though so it’s not like I’m SUPER extroverted, I actually tend to be a bit of a hermit sometimes since I don’t like to go out much (ya boy also can’t DRIVE LMAOO) parties and stuff are super overwhelming and I kinda have a hard time making friends ☠️ but I do like talking to people!!! Especially about my interests, I’m super into games and cosplaying rn (currently on my 5th morrowind playthrough, playing all the mainline persona games, working on climbing in ranked league of legends, etc) but I also love to read comics and books as well as write occasionally!! Poetry mostly but I also roleplay online if that counts, plus I do DnD,, I love my character creation 🤧 Tangentially related but psychology is also one of my main interests I absolutely love learning about it!!!
Oh I’m also currently studying art, my skills are mostly in traditional drawing and painting but lately I’ve tried pottery+ceramics and I’m slowly cracking away at digital art too!! My goal is to one day be able to write and illustrate my own stories someday ✨🌈 My favorite genres are fantasy, mystery, romance, and horror!!!
I rlly love spooky stuff teehee, I tend to be a lil thrill seeking, mostly just for stuff like roller coasters, horror movies and games, haunted houses, escape rooms, etc, I find it SO fun I love Halloween sooo much
I guess my love language would be words of affirmation? Sometimes I’m not too big on physical touch but I do like being told stuff lmao
As for things I don’t like, I’m a super picky eater ig? Oh and bugs they give me the icks lmao (I’m so sorry Beel it’s not personal) I also don’t like when things are super chaotic, messy, or out of my control, I function best with at least some semblance of structure in my life 😭
Anyway uhhh I hope this is enough? I’m not rlly sure how these things work lol but I’d love to hear who you think would suit me best!! God knows I’m terrible at picking my men ☠️☠️☠️☠️
Hello Anon! You put a great amount of information! I'm trying to finish the original Obey Me game before I get too into Nightbringer, but with me only being up to Lesson 18, it could take a while. Hope you like your matchup!
In Obey Me, I match you with...
Tumblr media
Okay, I know what your thinking! You're a picky eater and I pair you with the one character that canonically can't cook? But hear me out!
If you can cook, you'd be able to make things you know you'll like, and you won't have to worry about dying from Solomon's attempts at cooking.
If you can't cook, either the brothers or Barbatos would be more than happy to help you out, making dishes for you while also teaching you how to make them yourself.
Solomon loves spooky stuff so he's right there with you in haunted houses, cinemas to watch the latest horror movie, on rollercoasters...you name it, Solomon's up to the challenge!
He also loves sitting down with you and trying to copy whatever you're drawing or painting. He's probably not as good as you but he tries his best. He can always just use a bit of magic while you're not watching to make his scribbles look a bit better.
Solomon loves that you have the desire to write and illustrate your own books. He'd feel honoured if you would share your progress with him. But he's also happy to wait until the final product is finished. It just means more anticipation and surprise when he finally gets to see your work.
Solomon playing D&D would be an experience. He's got so many stories from his years of life that all of his characters are probably just him from different eras. I really want to write a fanfic about the Obey Me character playing D&D now...
Because Solomon's been around so long, he's also a ready reference for a lot of psychology questions you have. He's seen so many people and how they think so there are very few questions you could ask that he wouldn't be able to answer.

Hi hi! I was wondering if I could get a matchup please? Sorry if it's long...!
Haha, where to start - I've always been academically inclined, and I adore reading books - I also adore walks in forests (or knew places in general), and I often take pictures when I do, both as a hobby and to share with family. I love climbing as well! I also enjoy making art and I'm learning the piano.
I've always been very antisocial, and I don't really have any friends - by choice! I can't find anyone who doesn't do anything but sulk, but I'd love a cheerful friend if they exist! I can't stand broody people, or those who do nothing but complain and whine - people who can smile and make jokes are, in my eyes, the best!
I can have quite a dark humour, and my version on "banter" can be a little too much for some - I would definitely need someone who's able to take harsh quips, and isn't afraid to poke fun at me in turn.
I'm bisexual, but lean more towards men generally - I dislike girly things for the most part, and would much rather dress casually or wear a suit if it's formal. That being said, politeness and kindness are invaluable, both as a trait for me and for others. I don't really like mixing in crowds, and can get overwhelmed quite easily at parties, so I spend all my free time searching for nooks and crannies to be alone. I'm very independent in general, and I don't do clingy.
I've always wanted to learn to fight (with a fight or without), and I'm not a very sexual person at all. I'd like to save myself for when I fully trust and love someone. I don't get a lot of sleep, both due to nightmares and not having enough time in the day, but I take a lot of naps when I can.
I apologise for writing so much!
They say that opposites attract, which is why you've caught the eye of
The Affable Optimist
Rio Voleri!
Tumblr media
If there is anything this man finds absolutely fascinating about you is how bookish you are. As someone who believes in putting hard work into whatever you do, he appreciates the fact that you’re so academically inclined. Rio also adores your love for being in nature and openness to going to new places. Voleri is a land of plenty, and there is plenty of places he’d love to take you if you ever want to visit his kingdom.
Kindness is a core part of Rio’s character, and seeing that you value kindness and politeness so much, he will absolutely love that about you. It’s no secret that he is among the most easygoing of the royals, so he will enjoy joking around with you, although it might him take a while to appreciate your brand of humour. If you want to learn how to fight for self-defence or for protecting others, he will happily teach you. He may even invite you to sparring sessions with Grayson
***~~----------------------------------------------------------------~~***
Rio never really saw you interacting with anybody. He understood that you were a newcomer to the school, so he thought making friends may have been a bit daunting. This was why he took it upon himself to befriend you. This was far from the truth, but becoming friends with him certainly wasn’t unwelcome. His cheery disposition was a breath of fresh air, especially after your far from favourable first encounter with this world. Despite your self-preservation, you were glad you were able to make a friend here. Rio introduced you to his friends, Sherry and Thoma soon after your first meeting.
As academically inclined as you were, you had a hard time reading the texts, as they were all written in a foreign language. Rio, of course, was happy to help you read them. The reading bit was easy once you learned how to read the books, but the magic part wasn’t looking too good for you as of now. You come from a world where magic is as commonplace as technology on Earth, and you’re expected to be able to do this without any kind of training beforehand. Rio was also struggling with magic it seems. Looks like you’ll be helping each other with the practical bits now.
A few days of this passed and your progress increased. There wasn’t a whole lot, but it was still something. The days you spend not studying were rather fruitful, too, (pun intended) as he'd often take you to the campus garden to pick some fresh fruits and vegetables for his newest recipes. It was either a trick of the light, or his eyes genuinely seemed to light up whenever he spoke of his garden. The campus garden truly was a delightful place, as there are plenty of quiet spots here. You can make art to your heart's content here! Rio sometimes comes while you're alone drawing to strike up a conversation. Sometimes, you even ask him to be your model, much to his surprise and delight. I say surprise since the delight that comes with it feels a little bit... different. This is not like the delight he feels when he shares a hearty meal with his friends or family.
One day, you decided to head to the garden alone. You were feeling a little bit overwhelmed by the crowd inside, so you picked up your sketchbook and sat under a fragipirium tree. You were happily sketching the scenery in front of you when you noticed Rio searching for someone: You
Rio: "Oh, hello, Sunbeam! Do you have a moment?"
You: "Sure, what's up?"
Rio: "I actually want to tell you that I very much like you"

What about Nanami is it that you thirst? Like what draws u to like his character
mmMMM first off I am a whore for tall lanky slendermen-built men in glasses (see: nighteye, tsukki, kyoya) and his composure and cbf attitude is enough to make me lose my mind. I know my main Type™️ is painfully pretty boys who are either irrationally horny, virgins, or both, but the daddy issues in me manifests into this subType™️ of just Responsible Calm Tired Grown Men who exude stern mean dom energy, and that’s Nanamin for me. He’s the whole package, honestly. (ノ∀ ̄〃)

Also... our 2nd Nozel in a row!! I love writing this royal (ෆ˙ᵕ˙ෆ)
Nozel Silva x F! reader
TW: Fluff, not proof read.
Nozel came out of his office and realised you were not at your desk.
"Where's y/n? Is it her off day today?" Nozel questioned one of his men.
"No sir, but she took an urgent leave for a week."
"Did something happen to her or her family?" Nozel tried to hide the worry in his heart, he pretended to be just a concerned boss.
"We're not sure..."
The entire day, Nozel sat in his office and tried to concentrate on his work. He tried to. But all his mind could think of was you. What could have happened for you to take a week off work? You were always strong and optimistic.
Should he try to send you a pigeon letter? Would it be overstepping the boss and employee line? Afterall, you had a boyfriend that should be the one caring for you. He didn't want to look like he was coming between other's relationship.
He decided to wait it out for a day or two to see if there was any news of you.
---
On the fourth day of your absence, he found himself standing at your door.
You stood there wide eyed when you saw Nozel standing at your door. "Captain Nozel, what brings you here?"
"J-just wanted to ask you about an urgent matter at work," he lied, "is that fine?"
"Y-yeah, sure," you stepped aside, "please, come in."
In your tiny apartment, he could see that the dishes and trash in the kitchen were piled up. A pile of laundry was in the basket. The table was a mess of snacks and empty cups. Were you like this in private? It just didn't seemed to be you.
"I-I'm sorry about the mess," you tried to bring everything on the table to the already full sink, "please have a seat."
"Y/n," Nozel took a good look at you now that you were both seated across each other, there were heavy and dark circles below your usually cheery eyes. Your luxurious hair was in a mess. Your lips were pale and your entire face looked haggard. His worry intensified and he couldn't help but ask, "are you alright? Did something happened?"
"I'm..." you took a deep breath, "I'm fine."
Your forced smile was what broke Nozel's heart. You couldn't even tell him of your problems. Did you not trust him at all? He pursed his lips, not wanting to force you to tell him if you weren't comfortable to.
After asking the insignificant "work question" he found himself standing at your door again. He looked into your eyes, they were sad and void of life. What had happened to you?
"y/n, please take good care." he said and with all the might he had, he turned around to leave. If he stayed any longer, he might just pull you into his embrace.
---
3 days later, you called in to ask for another 2 weeks of unpaid leave. Nozel almost went insane from the perturbation. He had to think long an hard for another excuse to go over to your place again, but he could not think of any idea.
For the next week, Nozel was hella grumpy. Whoever treaded in his path did not have a smooth experience. He could barely concentrate on anything and instead he found himself standing close to his office doors or around walls to eavesdrop on your colleagues gossiping about you, hoping to know about what had happened to you.
Sadly, it seemed that it was all wild guesses and no one really knew about your predicament.
---
A week later, while working late in his office, wild thoughts clouded his mind. Maybe it was the lack of sleep from nights of dwelling over you, he suddenly had this thought of what if you did something silly to yourself. He mind flashed back to the state of your apartment and you the other day. What if..?
He flew straight to your house.
He almost couldn't recognise you when you opened the door. Your eyes were swollen and red, you had lost tremendous amount of weight from the last time he saw you.
He held onto the sides of your shoulders, "what happened y/n?"
"C-captain Nozel.." you tried to wipe away the tear stains on your face while trying to keep your voice steady, "why are you here at this hour?"
"Tell me y/n," he nudged you easily into your house and closed the door behind him, "what happened?"
He took one look at your apartment. It now looked like a dumpster compared to last week. "Why isn't your boyfriend taking care of you and leaving you in this state? Is that how a man should take care of his girl?"
Upon hearing about your now ex boyfriend, you broke down, "he.. left.." you said between sobs.
This time, Nozel couldn't help himself any longer. Seeing you in this state, all he wanted was to protect you from all the wrongs in the world. He pulled you into his embrace and wrapped his arms around your shaking frame.
Having someone hold you at your lowest moment made you break all your walls down, your body suddenly went weak from the lack of food and water you have consumed over the last 2 weeks and you collapsed into Nozel's arms.
He held onto you strongly as he slowly lowered himself onto your floor. He continued holding you close to his chest as you sat in his lap, his arms gently caressing the back of your head.
---
When your sobs finally turned to sniffles, he gently said, "let's get you something to drink."
He carried you to your sofa. "wait here."
He went into your kitchen and to your surprise, you heard the head of the Silva family actually washing a cup and getting you water.
"Here, drink." the water was even warm. It was just water, but it tasted so good, it made your body feel rejuvenated a little.
"Shall I bring you to get something to eat?"
"No.. I'm not hungry.." you said weakly, still not wanting to leave the house.
"Accompany me then, you need some fresh air and I need my dinner." he insisted.
You looked at the time. It was 10pm and your boss flew over to your place after work without dinner to comfort you in his arms for the past hour. You suddenly felt a rush of heat at your cheeks while thinking of the earlier scene.
"Let me have a quick shower then.." you tried to avoid eye contact with him.
A shower really made you feel much better. When you came out from your room, you saw Nozel when his sleeves rolled up and your house was already mostly cleaned.
Nozel Silva the Captain of the Silver Eagles, a head of a Royal family, someone that doesn't need to lift even his finger to do his own braids.. Cleaning your house?
"Captain Nozel!" you quickly took the trash bags in his hands. You turned over and saw that he washed all the dishes in the sink. "You didn't have to.."
"Please, call me Nozel when we're not at work." he said shyly. He brought the trash out.
"Are you ready to leave?" he came back a few seconds later.
"Mhmm," you nodded as Nozel summoned his Silver Eagle.
---
After a nice meal, (your stomach was growling when you reached the restaurant, so Nozel ordered you some food too) Nozel sent you back home.
The cool night breeze really refreshened you up and the fresh air lifted up your mood.
"Nozel.." you still found it difficult to call him just by his name, "why did you come?"
He was caught off guard since his mind was still stirred by the ordeal just now. He could not think of an answer offhand.
You both just stood on the Silver Eagle in silence.
"I was worried." He suddenly said. It was now or never, he thought, "I was worried about you since the first day i came to your house 2 weeks ago."
"Oh.." the sudden confession caught you off guard a little. Your mind was still in a mess after your break up, so you didn't know what to think.
Nozel was rendered helpless at your silence; he didn't want to push it, since you just went through a break up and your mood was still down.
"Come back to work, y/n." he said eventually, "it would help you keep your mind off things.."
Your heart felt bitter at the thought of your predicament, but having a nice night out with Nozel really lifted your spirits and your thoughts were slightly more organised now.
"I will," you nodded, "thank you for today. You made me realise that I deserve better than that scumbag."
He chuckled upon hearing you calling your ex names. It was the first time you saw your Captain even laugh. You were surprised.
"You should laugh more," you smiled at him.
A hint of pink brushed across his cheeks as he cleared his throat, "only when I'm with you."
You blinked at him, confused to what he was trying to say. He glanced at him, probing him to say more.
He took a deep breath and decided to just spit it out.
"I like you y/n. Way earlier than this, but back then you seemed happily attached, so I didn't want to come between your relationship. But since that scumbag couldn't give you the happiness you deserve, then I hope I get a chance to."
He looked at your now rosy cheeks and tucked the stray hair behind your ears, "you don't have to give me any answers now, I just want you to walk out of this sad phase. I promise to protect you come whatever may."
He said it so seriously like he was giving you some instructions for work. But the blush of his cheeks reminded you that he was showing his vulnerable side to you too.
You smiled as you pursed your lips, "I-I have no idea what to say except thank you."
A gust of wind blew by and it swept his braid away from his face. At that moment, you saw his full handsome features smiling back at you, "that's good enough, for now."

OT, UL, SFR, HS & HF what they look for in an S/O and dealbreakers? (if you haven't already)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ve already answered what they look for in a SO for the OT, UL and GT bros here!
Underlust:
charms deal breakers are:
bullies
Being overly pushy. The fact that he’s in a committed relationship is already a big deal. Charm is very nervous about commitment and needs a SO who will let him take the relationship at his own pace.
Constant nagging. Once in a while he can handle, but too much nagging is a sure way to piss him off
sugar’s deal breakers are:
Not wanting kids. he really wants kids in the future so if SO is adamant that they’re staying child free, he might just break things off
not being serious about the relationship. Sugar plays for keeps, so if you're just dating him for fun then you'll break his heart
Treating him roughly or meanly. He just wants someone who will be as sweet with him as he is for them.
Outertale:
Pluto’s deal breakers are:
treating him like a child or accessory. He’s your boyfriend, not your pet.
Basically trying to do everything for him. He’s a capable adult who can fix his own problems. Just let him have his independence
Being a d*ck to Jupiter
Jupiter’s deal breakers are:
Being overly sensitive. He knows he has no filter and he’s trying, but he’s also not responsible for your feelings. Jupiter rarely says something with the intent to hurt
Pushing Pluto to be more outgoing.
Demanding all his time. Jupiter is a firefighter. If he gets a call from work, it could be a life or death situation for someone. Sometimes he has to leave
Fellswap Red:
Lord: what he looks for in a SO is someone bubbly and positive. Opposites attract and lord likes those with a bit of life in them. He also needs people who are unafraid of feelings and very verbally affectionate. Lord needs reassurance that you're happy in the relationship. He also likes buff SO’s who could easily lift him and throw him around ;)
his deal breakers are:
constantly reminding him of how grumpy he is. He already knows, you don't need to be a b*tch about it
Being a jerk to mutt
Forcing physical affection on him. Lord is nervous about touch and will take a while to get used to hugs and cuddles
Mutt: He doesn't seem to have any criteria for what personality traits he likes in a SO besides being a decent person and being persistent. It is very hard to get mutt to trust someone. It takes time and dedication, so if lord likes you and you're determined enough you just might get his attention. Mutt also likes big tatas if you have them lol
his deal breakers are:
being overly secretive.
Getting mad at him for being protective, or for being aggressive towards mean strangers. Mutt will never change this about himself. It kept him alive for this long after all
Hating lord
Mafiatale:
Snipe: For the sake of not revealing too much of the secret combination for making snipe fall for you, I’ll just give a few brief requirements. He has to have complete honestly from his partner. No surprises. Snipe also wants someone who won’t try and sway him from the mafia life. He likes motherly personalities and thick thighs
his deal breakers are:
keeping secrets
Demanding lots of time
snooping around or trying to squeeze details about his job.
reckless behavior, not being street smart
helping bruiser do crap behind the mafia’s back
Bruiser: Literally all he wants is someone with compassion and care for others. Bruiser likes those who have good morals and are willing to help others without reward. Bruiser is also attracted to clever and creative people. Someone who has a sense of humor and can talk circles around others will easily grab his attention. Long fluttery eyelashes help too lol.
his deal breakers are:
ratting him out to his brothers
also ratting his brothers out to each other
just snitches in general.
also please don’t try and steal him from the mafia. Sure he’s not happy with what he does, but his family is there. The only way he’s going is if you dragged his cold dead body
Mafiafell:
Butch: He’s a simple man. Just give him someone loyal, brave, flirty and a good sense of humor and butch is set. If said person also has a good head on their shoulders and actually sticks through his down moments, then butch will fall head over heels. He’s also a leg man
his deal breakers are:
Being a prude. He needs someone he can be goofy with.
Being overly critical of boss. His brother comes first. That’s literally the first rule every one of his flings have heard.
Being afraid of him. If you can’t handle his job, he’ll drop you instantly.
Boss: He’s attracted to those who are a bit bratty. Boss likes the sass. This tends to mean he likes brave people since not a lot of people have the guts to tease a mafia boss. Boss also secretly likes those who have some kindness in them. Someone who treats his workers as family will quickly pull his heartstrings. He prefers ladies
his deal breakers are:
Being overly confrontational. Teasing and fighting are two different things
Disrespect. especially in front of his men.
Breaking the safety rules. Yea having guards sucks but boss is not about to keep a SO who’s just gonna get shot in a week.
Horrorfell:
Rust: He likes gentle and caring people who value family over everything else. Rust just wants his happy family above everything else so He wont really care what his SO’s hobbies or work is as long as they're around often. He’s pretty flexible. He likes it when his SO’s are tall with some chub
his deal breakers are:
Not wanting kids.
Trying to get between him and noir. Just being a jerk to noir in general
Always being out or gone from home. He wants to be near you. Not every second of course but you being gone for days at a time is hard
Noir: He’s almost the same as edge in that he likes people with a lot of wonder and passion. Add a coy and playful personality and he’s set. The big difference between edge and noir is that noir won’t mind a SO who likes taking care of him back on occasion. Noir secretly likes being mothered sometimes. He also prefers ladies
his deal breakers are:
Trying to get between him and rust. being a jerk to his brother
Refusing to let him take care of you
Making fun of people who are trying to better themselves
Horrorswap:
Lilac: In his core, he’s still star. Lilac has been through a lot and has finally just started gaining his independence back. He wants a SO who is encouraging and lets him do things for himself. He wants a partner in crime, not a caretaker. Lilac also likes people with cheery and optimistic personalities. basically someone who he can call sunshine and mean it. Lilac is also a huge fan of the booty.
his deal breakers are:
Being overly worried or nagging
Getting in the way of basil being a mother hen
being really pessimistic
having no sense of adventure
Basil: He just wants someone he can trust. Someone who will be soft for him. Basil is attracted to those who are confident and patient. He likes people with an eye for the practical things in life. Basically self sufficient but still willing to let him fuss over them
his deal breakers are:
not letting him mother hen
Beng shy or unable to make the first move
Being too forceful and pushy with anxious people
disrespecting his god-damn kitchen and garden

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N : hiii!! 👋🏼 :DD I’ve never done Lucci before, but I love him 🥺 thank you for requesting! This is a rather peculiar trio to choose from too, lol,
and it’s so weird— you sent this request while I was playing pirate warriors and each of my enemies/opponents were crocodile, Lucci and Smoker- 😅
Summary : these trio of men having significant others who are optimistic, happy-go lucky types.
note : so.. I notice I did this a bit differently...? I hope it was okay. I’m sure it’s not what you expected, so if you’d like a do-over, please let me know!!

He wouldn’t mind your cheerfulness as much, he’d be the least one to be so annoyed by it. As long as you remain loyal to him and support/care for him, he doesn’t give much shit about your personality, unless it’s absolutely horrible.
In fact, he might find it a bit cute. Seeing you so cheerful and optimistic about everything, always looking on the bright side. Plus, you were like his cheerleader, other than Daz Bones, aka, Mr. 1, you always supported him.
Being so enthusiastic about his goals really brought out some more confidence and gave him more pride, which also caused him to go further lengths to get what he wanted and to achieve it, just to impress you and make you smile. Whatever he wants, he’ll make sure to get it, especially if it’s for you.
And your enthusiasm and faithfulness interested him, because you were even supportive and okay with him taking over Alabasta. Which he even loved about you. You didn’t judge him or criticize his morals. You loved him perfectly and was always there from the beginning.
-
Lucci
Oh boy, I think Lucci would be most stressed from having a rather bright and cheery significant other. He’s more of a reserved, serious kind of guy, so he’s not one to play around much.
As long as you aren’t annoying him and know when to be serious, he doesn’t really give a damn about it. Though, he respects your faithful loyalty to him, because obviously Lucci loves to be in control and have power. So, if you choose to willingly be by his side, he likes that.
Your never-ending cheeriness does pique his interest, only because he’s amazed that you never seem to lose your positive energy. It’s weird. He hasn’t quite met someone so.. bright especially for a long period of time.
Being part of the world-government grants you quite a bit of power, and Lucci has many plans of his own that he keeps underway to further pursue in the future, with the held of these powers, so you sticking with him and expressing your determination and enthusiasm to aid him in his personal goals actually makes Lucci hold the smallest amount of admiration for you.
-
Smoker
You remind him of a particular Straw Hat.
At first, he may seem like he’s annoyed, or perhaps act like he doesn’t really care which is partially true, Smoker actually secretly likes it. Of course, as long as it’s not overboard and you don’t disrupt him while he’s busy.
But if you two are just wandering headquarters or sailing the seas to your destination, he won’t mind if you’re being all bright, smiley and cheery. I think Smoker would find it secretly adorable, which yes, is rather uncharacteristic of the man.
He highly respects your faithfulness to him, because it means you respect the marines as well. Your enthusiasm to capture straw hat along with him brings his attention to you even more, since you insist to stay by his side to help him with it.
Though, it does slightly irritate him when you’re acting a little too like Straw Hat, almost making him want to capture you— and even more when you end up befriending the straw hat while trying to capture him, because of the small similarities between you two.
-
I know this probably wasn’t what you were expecting and I’m so sorry! 😭 please let me know if you want something different!
Y’all, is it obvious I love Smoker? 🤍

-- RP (AU): Homecoming
@yugenronin | Shingen, Army of Kai
---
Tumblr media
Chiharu had gone home with Shingen, and upon arriving in Kai, while she was happy to be home amidst the bustling streets... the people she had come to love and be used too... she found herself... hiding. Avoiding their gazes or, gods forbid, trying to sneak away in Tanuki form, only to be grabbed and held. It took her a few more days before she finally started coming around, and individually began talking to the various men of Kai -- Nobuharu, Masanobu and Masazumi, Masatoyo, Masakage, and then Muneshige, explaining to the latter she would need some time to fully heal before she could get back to work. All of this happened within the span of a day when each had some free time to hear her out.
She was not strong or optimistic -- not so much anymore -- and she wanted them to just understand that... she was sorry for being so disrespectful, but telling her how not to help when that’s all she wanted to do was going to make things worse for her mentally. Her self-esteem was low despite her usually cheery disposition. Luckily, some got it, although a few took their time to wrap their heads around it. That being said, she also took the time to get to know Chizuru and also scold Kouga and yet tell him at the same time the two of them as friends would be okay. She just... needed time... and finally, that brought her to Shingen, who, this early evening, she found as excitable as ever as she folded some laundry -- anything domestic she could do to help out, she would do it.
“... Shingen.” She greeted, looking just a tad worn out after talking with Masanobu and Masazumi and Kouga all back to back today. She offered a smile, even if it was a tired one. “I was just finishing up here. I... I wanted to talk to you personally... but I think I might have over-exerted myself.”

Reticence (soft! Yandere Hoseok)
Tumblr media
Summary: You were always terrified of getting kidnapped when you were younger, and now that you’ve been taken by a man who claims to want to take care of you, you recede within yourself so far you refuse to even eat... but Hoseok is determined to let nothing hurt you, not even yourself.
Warnings: Kidnapping, kind of Stockholm syndrome, mentions of not eating so if you’re sensitive to that kind of stuff pls be careful <3 Yandere behaviour, though I am kind of romanticising it in this fic, please remember that that is all it is: Fiction. Obviously in real life this behaviour would be unacceptable and horrifying.
Word Count: 2.2K
Masterlist :)
a/n: my first hobi fic!!! this is for @kpopgirlbtssvt from a request made about a billion years ago (sorry :/ ) for made-for-each-other verse! Yandere Hobi with a shy reader who wouldn’t talk even though he begged her to, and then him coming home from work to her telling him she missed him and was glad he was home. this was a lil less fluffy and a lil more angsty than i intended, but its still a ‘happy ending’ bc im a weak bitch with simple pleasures, what can i say lmao
Reticence
“What do you want for breakfast, sunshine?”
Silence.
Hoseok sighed, then straightened up again, walking over to the refrigerator. You remained sat by the kitchen island, empty gaze fixed on the marble countertop.
“Omelettes it is, then!” He exclaimed with artificial excitement, trying to be cheery in the face of your taciturnity, but even the sunshiney optimist that was Hoseok was finding it more difficult than he expected. He had hoped that by now you would’ve accepted him, but you remained as quiet and unresponsive as the day he brought you home. Not that you thought of it as ‘home’ yet, but he hoped you would eventually. Hoseok was not a patient man, but he was willing to wait forever for you.
You didn’t even blink when he set the plate down in front of you. It didn’t seem like you were going to attempt to eat it either. Hoseok sighed. He could understand if you didn’t want to talk to him yet — even though it had been months and he’d been nothing but kind to you — but he drew the line at refusing to eat.
You had lost weight. The cute cheeks he loved to watch bunch up as you smiled were now sunken. Your beautiful figure which he had admired from afar was starting to become worryingly waif-like. Hoseok frowned, a crinkle between his brows forming for the first time as his usually exuberant features warped with agitation.
“Listen, Y/n-” Hoseok sat down at the kitchen island across from you, bracing his forearms against the table and leaning forwards. “You have to eat. I promise there’s nothing in it that could hurt you. Look, I’ll even eat it myself!” Hoseok carved out a small piece of the omelette and popped it in his mouth, exaggerating his chewing and swallowing. “See?” You offered no reaction, and Hoseok felt his disappointment join the omelette on its way down to his stomach.
“I can understand that you maybe aren’t so happy with me right now, but that doesn’t mean you have to punish yourself. Just, please, please stop shutting me out.” His pleading tone did nothing to move you. You just sat there like a ghost, and a groan of frustration slipped out of Hoseok.
“Please! I’m begging you! Just eat! I don’t understand, all I want to do is take care of you! All I want to do is love you, why won’t you accept me? Why won’t you even talk to me?”
The only sound was Hoseok’s harsh breaths after his outburst. If he couldn’t see the slow rise and fall of your chest, Hoseok would think you weren’t alive at all. He slumped in his seat, allowing himself to wallow in self-pity for a moment, before forcing himself to get up and ready for work. When he passed through the kitchen again on his way out the door you were still sitting there, staring at the countertop.
The front door banged shut, the sound echoing in the apartment. Then, silence. And then, very quietly, the noises of cutlery moving against a plate and chewing.
~~~~~~
“I don’t know what to do~” Hoseok whined, his head buried in his hands. Around him, his shocked friends were gathered in an informal circle. Each of them had an expression with varying degrees of surprise and confusion — they had never seen Hoseok, the literal personification of sunshine, so dismayed.
“It’ll be ok, Hoseok. I know it’s bad at the moment, but you just have to wait until she trusts you. Once you achieve her trust, you’ll both be the happiest you’ve ever been.” Taehyung reassured him. Taehyung was obviously the source of authority, since him and his wife were basically the perfect couple.
“But what if she never trusts me?” Hoseok fretted, before groaning again. “She won’t even eat! I don’t know what to do, I’m just watching her slowly starve in front of me and she won’t even look at me!” The rest of the group paused as they digested this new information. It seemed this girl was particularly stubborn.
“Force feed her then.” Jin shrugged and Hoseok’s head shot up in outrage.
“No! I could never hurt her like that!”
“You’re hurting her by letting her starve.” Jeongguk pointed out, and Namjoon smacked the back of his head, chastising. Meanwhile, Hoseok looked like he was about to cry.
“Listen, Hoseok, are you sure this girl is the one?” Jimin questioned, bracing his clasped hands on his knees.
“I know she is.” Hoseok replied with a conviction he rarely used. “The second she came into my life, it was like I was born again and she was the first thing I saw. The only thing I could see. Her face- God, it just… glows. She’s like sunshine. She’s an angel. She’s so beautiful and kind and fragile and I want to protect her from everything, and I don’t deserve her but no one else does either and I know we’re meant to be together. If I thought I could’ve let her go, I would have. But I can’t. I have to have her, she has to be mine.”
The circle of men was quiet for a second, before a quiet chuckle broke the silence.
“Well then,” Yoongi rasped, “if she’s all that you say she is-”
“She is.” Hoseok interjected fiercely.
“Then all you can do is have a little patience.”
~~~~~~~~~~
It was incredibly boring being kidnapped. Especially when your kidnapper did nothing interesting except make bad food and dance along to music from the TV surprisingly well and cry sometimes when you wouldn’t look at him. Frankly, it would have been easier if he were more of the torturey-type, because it was really hard to stay stubborn in the face of his sparkling eyes and radiant smile.
When you were younger, there was a poster up on the wall of your homeroom at school. On it was an old man with an ugly sneer and a beige trench-coat, with the slogan ‘DON’T TALK TO STRANGERS’ superimposed in glaring red letters. You used to stare up at the poster and wonder how anyone could be so stupid as to talk to someone who looked like that.
You were never afraid to yell ‘STRANGER DANGER’ at the highest decibel your little lungs could manage whenever a person brushed too close to you in the mall. It was almost a habit — you were avidly fixated on your own personal safety, much to your mother’s chagrin and public embarrassment. Being banned from all the surrounding stores within a 20 mile radius had two consequences:
You had to drive forty minutes for a new pair of socks.
You stayed at home a lot more than you went out.
You became a homebody, and it was certainly not something you were unhappy about. Staying safe in your room meant there was less risk for someone to kidnap you. The comforting layer of your blanket was a shield from everything bad in the world. When your parents were arguing constantly, screaming at each other every other night, you would just tuck yourself in and read a bedtime story on your own since they were both occupied. When your parents eventually divorced, you buried yourself under your duvet rather than answer their questions about who you wanted to stay with, and what your preference was. When your mom died in a car crash, and your dad started drinking, your mattress was the shoulder you could cry on, your blanket was a warm arm holding you close. You had always felt safe in your bed. Perhaps that was why you were having such an averse reaction to being taken from it.
Hoseok was not a man with an ugly sneer and a trench coat. He had an impeccable sense of style, and his smile was breathtaking on the few occasions that it appeared. You more often saw his face twisted into a pained grimace. For a kidnapper, he was awfully sensitive. You were pretty sure it was reasonable for you to be holding grudge, and it’s not as if you were actively fighting against him or anything. You were just refusing to acknowledge him. You were highly skilled at repressing things, or ignoring them, and you were resolved to do the same now.
By 7 o’ clock, your resolve was slightly eroded. Hoseok always arrived back at half-past 5 on the dot. He was a very punctual person, and you felt an unwelcome sense of worry curl along the edges of your mind as the clock counted away the seconds of him not being there. You remembered feeling the same way when you waited for your mom to pick you up from your dads, watching the clock hand sweep past the numbers, increasingly taunting. Of course, you hadn’t realised that she was at the time caught in between a lorry with a drunk driver and a very steep incline. You wondered if you were being similarly clueless now.
When the door clicked open at quarter to 9, you had to restrain yourself from exhaling in relief. Hoseok came in looking slightly disheveled, his collar undone and his hair mussed as if he had ran his hands through it over and over again. He gave you a quick once over to see if you were alright, shot you a small, forced smile and then went straight to his bedroom, shutting the door behind him.
That was odd. He never closed the door to his bedroom. He had always left it open in case you needed anything, despite your refusal to acknowledge him. First, his late arrival and now yet another uncommon action? You felt curiosity bubble within you. That was it. Curiosity. It’s not that you were at all worried about him, you were just being nosy. Of course.
You tiptoed towards the door, tracing a finger around the door frame lightly. What if he didn’t even come out again for dinner? You doubted he had dined out without you, he had been eating his meals sitting across from you while you refused to touch yours since the day he stole you. You really should check on him, if only for the fact that if he dies then you’re trapped here with a high chance of starvation.
Before you could convince yourself not to, you opened the door and stepped inside. The only light-source came from the moonlight filtering through the window, casting Hoseok’s form lying on the bed in a deep blue. His eyes, which you assumed had been closed previously, shot open to observe you as he propped himself up on the backs of his forearms.
“Y/n.” He rasped, and a pleasant shiver ran down your spine. “D-do you need anything?” His tone was both excited and confused, probably because you had literally never directly interacted with him before.
You didn’t speak, and for the first time your silence was due to speechlessness, rather than a conscious desire.
“I-I, uh,” You stuttered, and Hoseok sat up ramrod straight, hearing your voice for the first time. “You… were late home.”
Hoseok felt like he couldn’t breathe. Your voice was so soft and pretty, fuck, and you were actually looking at him, you were actually talking to him, holy shit- and you called the apartment home. You said he was late ‘home’. Hoseok somehow managed to keep his shit together.
“I was?”
“Yes.” You confirmed with a small nod of your head. Fuck, you were so cute. “You normally come back at half five. It’s almost nine now.”
“I’m sorry. I was working late.” He was staying at the office because he felt guilty for not taking proper care of you and wanted to avoid seeing the proof of your unhappiness, but you didn’t need to know that.
“It’s ok.”
You remained standing at the foot of the bed, locked in his gaze. The bed looked so comfortable, moulding to support his body, and his warm body was exactly the comforting presence you were searching for all those years ago and you found yourself asking,
“Can I sleep in the bed with you?”
It was a quiet, timid suggestion but Hoseok reacted to it like a bombshell. His eyes practically popped out of their sockets and his entire body tensed. You were about to rescind your offer when he reached out a tugged a corner of the blanket down, welcoming you into the warmth.
You awkwardly sat on the edge of the mattress, nudging off your house slippers with your toes before slipping under the covers. The relief was instantaneous, shrouded in comforting and familiar warmth, and you couldn’t stop yourself from plastering yourself against his side, arm reaching out tentatively to rest on his chest. You felt his muscles jump under your touch, before his arm slid under you and tucked around your shoulders, drawing you into him closer. You closed your eyes, letting out a quiet little sigh, and you let yourself say the words you wish you could’ve said all those years ago when your mother never returned.
“I’m glad you’re home. I missed you.”

@primasolaris sent: “ get used to disappointment. ” - the ever optimistic jean motherfucking kirstein ——— from ‘the princess bride sentence starters’
Tumblr media
NO TURBULENCE YET. No sudden dips or shaky turns at 20,000 feet in the air. No screaming babies, or kick-happy ten-year-old boys, or slick-haired middle-aged men who can’t seem to ever take a hint when she puts her earphones in. They haven’t even boarded at this point, but her head—
          Gods, it already hurts.
“SO THE DEPARTMENT AWARDED THE GRANT TO BOTH OF US,” Cho repeats slowly, half hoping that it’ll be like that one phenomena of saying a word over and over again, “and now both of us are going on this trip.”
( Say it enough times, and soon it doesn’t even sound real. )
She blinks at him. Between the look on his face, and the unnaturally cheery intercom instructions for their gate, and the strap of her carry-on digging stubbornly into her shoulder, Cho’s tragically hyperaware that not even her own imagination could curate a scenario so specifically designed to bully her.
Marietta had gushed with her about the Thoreau Scholarship, sure— unfailingly supportive best friend and all— but even she had reminded Cho that an all-expenses-paid trip to a flipped log cabin in ski country Acadia, barely a stone’s throw from Bar Harbor, kind of went against the very simple living lifestyle the scholarship’s namesake had often proposed.
If this is retribution for not listening to Marietta, it seems a little unfair that a week with Jean Kirstein is her sentence.
“SAVE IT,” sighs Cho when she notices he’s about to say something else (something clever, and teasing, and capable of rubbing her the wrong way, knowing him). Belatedly, she can’t remember if she’d stowed some sort of aspirin for the flight. “I’m not— I had an early morning just to get here. Can we save having to acknowledge each other for after we land?”

Venus In Leo Man - Tips To Discover Your Ideal Partner
New Post has been published on https://www.astrology-india.com/venus-in-leo-man/
Venus In Leo Man - Tips To Discover Your Ideal Partner
Leo the lion is usually warm and cheery, known for his dramatics. When Venus is in Leo this can show bold displays of affection towards his lover, often for the whole world to see.
The Venus in Leo man has the traits and characteristics to be proud and dignified and, leans towards lovers who are more powerful than himself.
For him, choosing the right romantic partner means either thriving or crashing. The man with this Venus placement is at his best when he chooses his mate wisely.
The Venus in Leo Man Key Features
Positive Points
The Venus In Leo man has inner confidence, which makes him energetic, passionate, driven, warm, and playful.
Negative Points
Negative aspects of Leo can appear as selfishness with a vain streak, and sometimes pushy, and immature.
As shown by a sextile in the Venus in Leo astrology chart, he can be a bit of a showman if he is trying to impress.
The Venus In Leo Man Ideal partner
The Venus in Leo man’s perfect match is someone who is confident and bold, a person with whom he can share the spotlight with.
It helps greatly if this person is friendly, open, warm, and generous- perhaps working for a greater good.
Things a Venus In Leo Man Needs To Work On
He can choose better people to fall in love with. This man is attracted to power, and power is not necessarily a bad thing, but it comes in many forms, and a lot of times it is corrupted.
The Venus In Leo man would find contentment if he would allow himself time to really find out about a prospective partner. Rather than being attracted to the sometimes false image portrayed by dominant women.
The Venus In Leo Man Personality
Leo has a tendency to want to be the life and soul of the party.
Wherever there is fun to be had is where you can find him or, rather, wherever he is at that is where the fun just happens to be.
This man is usually confident and dignified just like the lion that represents his zodiac sign.
The guy with his Venus placement in Leo does not analyze things deeply with thought or emotion, he acts strictly on instinct. This is due to Leo being a fire sign, which represents action.
If you want to get a good mental picture of him think movie star, only he is always the main character. Either that or he is the frontman for a band, a natural entertainer.
It is not highly unlikely that his need to be number one at all times does not get him into trouble. Depending on how explosive this man is it could be often.
Yet somehow, he possesses a remarkable ability to walk away from his explosions unharmed, saved only by following his powerful instincts.
Venus in Leo makes him an outgoing and energetic lover.
While negative aspects of Leo can show itself as selfishness, the competitive Leo Venusian man is determined to go the extra mile for his mate.
Leo is also known to show childlike qualities, with his Venus aspect here you can expect a playful lover.
He tends to be overly concerned with his appearance, checking out his lion’s mane in the mirror more so than others.
It is one thing to be proud of our appearance, but a negative aspect of Leo shows itself as all-out vanity and this could be a turnoff for those around him.
Positive Traits
Confident – Energetic – Entertaining – Passionate
Driven – Playful – Warm – Optimistic
Negative Traits
Vain – Selfish – Childish – Demanding – A Show-off
What Attracts a Venus in Leo Man?
If your default mode is to fly under the radar and not make any splashes, then the chances that a man with his Venus in Leo will notice you are slim.
This man prefers to see himself with a flashy mate: loud, bold, and proud of their personality right down to their clothing and accessories.
This is what the Venus in Leo man likes, but sadly, it can also be his downfall.
Men with their Venus placement here are famous for choosing partners who have huge egos.
They are often getting pushed around which leaves them feeling overshadowed by their seemingly larger than life other halves.
This is likely to be someone with their actual sun sign in Leo, or Aries (or just about any celebrity).
But to be fair, the man with his Venus in Leo also thinks the world of himself and needs to be cherished.
He is attracted by mates who are comfortable with affection and showing often over-the-top displays of adoration for him (even better when it is in public).
While warm and cheery himself, the Venus in Leo man is wildly attracted to the detached type. But not the cold and calculated person, rather the arrogant kind.
As you can imagine, this could either be good or bad for him; the man who is typically happy and over demonstrating himself.
This man is about generosity and having some fun with his romances, less about cruelty and conflicts with others. If he is ever any of these things, it is only for show.
The Leo man does love attention, but he vastly prefers the positive kind.
In fact, negative attention wears down on Leo and no other sign knows that their mate reflects them in the public eye more than he does. The Venus in Leo man is truly the refined fire sign.
Since a man with his Venus in Leo cannot help but be attracted to powerful and dynamic lovers, his best bet is to find someone who is those things.
However, she also needs to be charitable, warm, and personable, not one who wants to trample all over him.
A woman with a degree of maturity who has done some inner-work in understanding how to want to be truly happy together.
Most Compatible With Venus In Leo Man
The man with his Venus in Leo is built to be with a dignified queen since he believes himself to be the king- someone who is proud, confident, and demands being in the center of the spotlight.
The man is not a great fit for signs which deal with insecurities. The introversion of earth and water signs may not work well with the highly self-projecting Leo guy.
The Venus in Leo man is best paired with a partner who similarly has their Venus in Leo.
He is also an outstanding match for those with their Venus in Aries, Sagittarius, Gemini, and Libra.
However, it is always important to consider one’s full natal chart to determine Venus in Leo’s computability. Other aspects of the chart will also play a crucial role in establishing a long-term romantic connection.
Final Thoughts
Leo is the king of the zodiac; the dashing lion man reflects an aura of confidence.
He is about the theatrics and appearances are everything to the Venus in Leo man because he always sees himself as the main character.
His ideal mate is someone as bold as he, who has no problem sharing the center stage of life with him, while the world plays the part of the audience.
If he chooses his lover with discernment, making sure they both share the leading part, he will undoubtedly be happy.

✧ Personality Tidbits ✧
➼ Ethan
He’s more optimistic and hopeful than Mia, often reassuring her whenever her mind wanders to darker places. They often comfort each other in their own ways; he’s particularly partial to holding her hand. He just wants her to be happy and safe, even if that means him going through hell and back for her.
Of course, he’s not without his occasional moodiness, especially with how long he spent alone, grieving over his wife’s supposed death. It’s all the more reason for him to be protective of Mia and devoted to her, fearful of losing her above all else, an even stronger terror felt than his trauma after the Baker farm incident.
He can be paranoid and over-protective, seeking to do whatever he can to ensure his family is protected. When Mia got pregnant, they both went into parent mode.
He can also just jump to conclusions and make rash and impulsive decisions when it comes down to his family, as shown with how he just took off after one incredibly vague five word email with just the slightest hint of Mia truly being alive.
His internal struggle is one between the past, present, and future. He can often be stuck in the past, even when everyone else has moved on. It’s likely he lost quite a few friends while he was grieving his wife’s death, as men’s emotional support circles aren’t that good. They probably wanted him to finally move on and be more like his old self, but frankly Mia is a permanent part of him. It’s not something he could ever get over.
He’s a huge nerd. He enjoys problem solving, hence why he’s a systems engineer. Yes, he was in the chess club in school at one point, why do you ask?
That also means Ethan’s incredibly awkward and more withdrawn. He’s not very talkative since he appreciates actions over words, but he’ll turn more emotional and chatty to Mia as he values the time he spends with the people important to him.
He is sarcastic and has really terrible jokes at times. Sometimes he’s not as funny as he thinks he is, but that’s okay. After Rosemary’s birth he probably turns up the dad jokes to an eleven. Mia just groans at him or shakes her head.
Ethan is happy when the people around him are happy. He kind of feeds off of others’ energy, so he doesn’t mind pleasing others because in the end it benefits him too. He’s particularly entertained when Mia is partaking in any of her hobbies or gets excited about something.
He curses a lot, as you can probably tell. However he’s too respectful of Mia and the ones closest to him to curse directly at them. His voice tone is consistently pretty gentle and soft with her, even when he’s mad at her.
While Mia was often lying to him and going away for her job, he also become more possessive and insecure. It wasn’t abusive by any means, but of course he felt very betrayed and felt that he wasn’t good enough at times for her. He finds great importance in trying to impress and provide for her.
➼ Mia
Although she may seem quite joyous from the video message she sent Ethan, it’s mostly what she wants to be, oblivious and cheery. In her youth she was more optimistic and idealistic of the world’s ways. Oftentimes now she’s more of a hardened pessimist (she’d say a realist) from her time working with the Connections. She is reminded by how unfair and brutal the world is and isn’t very trusting of anyone except Ethan. Blue Umbrella especially gives her pause and she isn’t particularly fond of Chris either, even if she’s polite since he did save them.
She’s quite good at maneuvering social situations and getting people to trust her. Her words are always complete and she’s to the point. Mia is still outgoing enough to maintain conversations even if her experiences have hardened her.
She takes a long time to personally open up to people she doesn’t know, especially now.
From a surface level, you probably wouldn’t even realize she could be capable of lying since she does seem quite forward and brutally honest at times. She’s not someone who enjoyed lying to or keeping Ethan in the dark, it’s simply what she had to do to stay alive.
She’s very guilty and regretful, as much as she tries to put the past behind her, she will always have that self-hatred that she got Ethan into the world of bioterror. Mia’s bitter that she ever worked for the Connections to begin with, especially when they knowingly abandoned her at the Baker house and instead employed Lucas instead of saving her.
Often she leads the way in their relationship, as she’s more headstrong and self-reliant. Though Ethan definitely is appreciated for how much he comforts and softens her when she often has many anxieties of the future, especially once she got pregnant.
She loves adventure, traveling the world or at least feeling like she is going on some sort of hunt. In addition, she’s quite a creative and innovative soul, often trying new things.
Mia doesn’t care what others think of her, save for Ethan. This means she’ll get brutal if she needs to when it comes to protecting her family.
Even before Rose’s birth she enjoyed reading a variety of books. Once Ethan got her those really cheesy romance novels as a joke but she ended up liking them, so she’s now big on romance. The often silly plots help take her mind off of everything else. Other books, like fantasies and mysteries, let her live out her adventurous fantasies as she mentally explores a new world.
Like Ethan, she is also willing to die for him. She wanted him to move on with his life after she died, to be happy without her because she knew it’s what he deserved. However, she’s more in love with him after he showed he didn’t want to and the rest is history.

“You got that throne; Baby, you got that throne, that golden majestic glow…And I got that hope, ready electric go, go, super volcano flow” — Oh Wonder, off their song “Heavy”
Throwing out a Permanent Uncapped Starter/Plotter Call for Haru! Liking this post will give both you and I (It’s a two way street round here) the ability to:
Send asks of any sort whenever you please, regardless if I have a meme up or not.
DM on any platform available we’re comfortable on about literally anything at any time, out of character.
Send starters and minis at any time without asking. I personally prefer to DM before writing, but you may do as you please. This also applies to plotting.
GENERAL INFO:
Born January 1st, Haru Ichinose is a 15 year old girl who has an energetic and cheery personality. Fueled by a fiery, optimistic soul, Haru finds it very easy to trust people, and believes in the best of everyone. Caring, sweet, independent, and forgiving, Haru is a girl who has lost everything and has grown because of it. A survivor at her core, she has scars all over her body that proves her ability to rise from the ashes over and over. She also has a knack for habitually referring to herself in the third person. If you need more info, please feel free to read her app or ask me personally! Some relationships you can have with her are:
FRIENDS:
Haru loves making friends! If you’ve talked to Haru for a little bit, she’s probably willing to trust you enough to hang out with you, and have a grand old time. Friends might not know everything about Haru, but Haru loves to treat people right all the time, so it can be quite easy to get a friendship with her. This isn’t to say that she is oblivious or naive tho (which she is), because she also is smart enough to do what she knows is right.
ENEMIES:
This can be a little harder for Haru to have. Due to Haru’s selfless and forgiving nature, it is quite hard to maintain a permanent relationship where Haru views you as an enemy. Sure, Haru has some strong ideals, and if you threaten her life, Haru will fight back in some form, but once it’s all said and done, Haru is more than happy than leave it as water under the bridge. If you think you can make Haru not forgive you, or if you want to see a darker side to Haru that rarely gets shown, this might be for you.
ROMANCE:
Now it’s time for the fun stuff! I personally am really interested in writing a romantic relationship with Haru (actually the main reason why I’m putting this out), but to get here, we’re gonna have to thread a little bit first. Haru isn’t one to fall in love instantly, so it might take a bit, but once you’re there, Haru will entrust her life to you without a second thought. Haru wants to feel like she’s at home with a person like this; a romantic relationship with Haru is a cute, innocent, and adorable puppy love garnished with a little bit of angst. Haru loves you, and she just wants to play video games and cuddle with that special someone.
There are a couple of things to note about this, however:
Haru is fifteen years old, meaning she is a minor. She will not reach an adult age for quite some time in Isola. This means I will not accept any muse who isn’t a minor as well, at the time of this post. Ideally, the muse would be 14 to 17 years of age. This also means I will absolutely not tolerate smut or sexual content between them. Things like kissing, cuddling, and hugging are free game, but any nudity (if any) should only be nonsexual at all times, no exceptions. Things like visiting a hot spring together is fine, because it’s not inherently sexual, for example. Please try to always run something by me if it includes any nudity, even if you think the nudity isn’t harmful.
Haru is canonically lesbian. She is not interested in dating men. If you are to have a romantic relationship with her, your muse must consider themselves female.
If you think you fit the bill for this/are interested in this, I’m willing to test some chemistry and slowly build up to them dating!
OTHER:
Any ideas I missed? Thought of something that might be a good fit for your muse and Haru? Please, let me know! I’m always down to entertain new ideas, and my DMs are open for that! Give this a like if you’re interested, but don’t see what you envisioned!
And that’s all for now! I hope you’ll consider liking this call, if you’re up for it. Thank you so much for reading this far! My baby means a lot to me, and I’m glad you were able to give me the time of day. With that said, please, have a good day/afternoon/night! You deserve it. Nacht, over and out.

“It doesn’t feel like home when you’re not with me."
Jongdae’s eyelids fluttered shut, the weight of your words touching the depths of his heart. "You’ll always have me, no matter what. Home hasn’t been the same without you.” His eyes opened, brown pools of color full of adoration as he stared back at you.
Everything was falling back into place.
Disclaimer: This series was planned out before Jongdae’s announcement, and I wanted to finish this for everyone who’s been reading and following along since part one. As always, everything in this is fictional, the only things linked to reality are the use of some character names.

Moving day was more organized than you expected. You only had to bring over the pile of stuff you accumulated while staying with Minseok, and the rest already had a place at home with Jongdae. Most of your items were easily settled and in their places within a couple of hours, much to your satisfaction. The only thing left to do was to get the remainder of your clothes put away.
As you folded and hung up your clothes, it hit you that while most of your other tastes had stayed the same, your choice in clothing hadn't. In the course of six years, your wardrobe had changed almost completely.
"I feel like I'm shopping through my own closet," you said over your shoulder. Rummaging through coats and sweaters, you were impressed by certain fashions choices, and oddly confused at others. "Did I really wear this orange sweater?" You took it out by the hanger, lifting it up just as Jongdae peeked out from the bathroom.
"You did, and I always said that you looked like a pumpkin. A very cute pumpkin, I might add." Jongdae laughed, even with his mouth full of toothpaste.
You hung the fuzzy blob of a sweater back up, failing to hide the smile working its way onto your face at Jongdae's words. "I guess I know why I kept it," you said to yourself as Jongdae finished brushing his teeth. He joined you at the closet soon after, similarly dressed in his well-loved pajamas.
"I forgot you even had this," he chuckled. Jongdae reached out, fingers running down the woolen fabric of the sweater. "I never knew why you didn't donate or throw it away. You always said it was too scratchy to wear."
Eyebrows raised in disbelief, you crossed your arms over your chest. "Really? You honestly don't have any idea why?"
Jongdae was still confused, staring harder at the sweater as if he would find the answer there. "No... why?"
"I probably kept it because you liked it so much! Who doesn't want to be called a 'cute pumpkin' by their husband?"
"Huh." Jongdae's head cocked to the head slightly, studying the article of clothing one last time before turning to you. "You didn't have to do that. I know you don't usually like this style."
"I mean, technically I didn't do anything. 'Past me' did."
Jongdae smiled, closing the distance and putting his arms around your waist. "Well, 'past you' is still you." He kissed the crown of your head, his lips lingering a but longer before he rested his cheek against your hair. "Ready for bed?"
It amused Jongdae to watch you hop in on the left side of the bed, a spot you always claimed. You pulled a pillow close to you as you brought the fluffy blanket over your shoulders, sniffing curiously as you caught a whiff of a familiar scent.
"Lavender," you mused, diving down for another sniff.
"To help you sleep," Jongdae explained as he turned off the light on the nightstand. "You used to talk about how it takes forever for you to fall asleep." He stifled a laugh as he lay down, resting his head on the pillow underneath. "And if we're being honest, you were sort of jealous of my ability to fall asleep in five seconds flat."
You mirrored Jongdae, lying down and facing him as you clutched the pillow tightly to you with both arms. "I'm still jealous, now that you've brought that up," you pouted.
Jongdae cooed with sympathy, scooting closer and bringing one arm up to encircle as much of you as he could. "Hopefully the lavender helps tonight."
"I'm sure it will." You smiled up at him before hugging him back, the pillow between both of you making it hard to get your arm over his waist. To Jongdae's amusement, you shoved the pillow out of the way before snuggling closer, nose pressed into his shirt.
And sure enough, you slept better than you did in a long time.

"Y/N, can you bring me the scallops?"
"Yes, chef!" You picked up the hot pan with a towel, warning your fellow chefs as you stepped past before placing on the counter next to Key. He finished plating his risotto before reaching for the scallops, sending you a quick thanks before focusing entirely on the food before him.
"Mingyu, I need garnish soon! Kyungsoo, get ready to have your salmon up to the counter!"
Both men were quick to respond to the head chef, Mingyu readying dainty flowers to be sprinkled atop the scallop risotto while Kyungsoo wiped the edges of his salmon dishes.
You went to check on the meal ticket one last time, making sure that nothing was missing. Under Key's supervision, his dishes were immaculate and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Once Jaehyun came to take the dishes out, the whole process started all over again. Key led your team through a couple orders of spicy pork over cauliflower rice and, much to Kyungsoo's delight, wasabi tacos. Time seemed to fly past as you all finished up the last of the main dishes and started on desserts.
Service ended with a last order of lychee cheesecake and mini red bean pancakes topped with French vanilla ice cream, your mouth watering at the sight of them.
"Good work tonight, everybody. That was the best service we've had in a long time. Maybe even since Y/N was last here," he added, giving you a thumbs-up. "Alright, let's clean up and get the hell out of here. I'm dying for a drink."
You rolled back your shoulders, stretching out the sore muscles and moving onto your neck when Kyungsoo called out to you. "You okay?"
"Yeah, my body's just stiff. Too much sitting around at home for me really left me out of shape," you joked.
Kyungsoo's eyes softened in sympathy. "It's tough jumping back into this after so long. You'll get used to it again though."
"Sounds like you speak from experience?"
"Yeah, before I got hired here, I did my military service. I had to leave my job at Junmyeon's old restaurant, Oasis, but he offered me one here once I got out. I thought I'd ease back in like I never left, but it was weird to get back into the habit of cooking in an environment like this. Not just physically, but mentally as well." He leaned back against the counter, throwing the towel in his hand onto his shoulder and crossing his arms. "Luckily, Key is a decent head chef, when he's not sending drunk texts to the groupchat."
"I can hear you Do Kyungsoo, and those counters won't wipe themselves!" Key yelled from the walk-in fridge.
You stifled your giggles as Kyungsoo flinched, immediately reaching up for his towel and searching for the nearest surface to start cleaning.
Sure, your body wasn't used to the stress of pulling through a service like this, but you felt better than you had in a long time. It also helped that you had been welcomed back so cheerfully. Of course, everyone in the kitchen was overjoyed to have you there. Your tasks had been divvied up and shared among the remaining four chefs, the managers even stepping in to help wherever they could.
But you could feel the camaraderie between everyone, and the way that this same friendship was extended towards you. The younger ones liked to rope you into their antics, Lucas and Mark often looking to you for your opinion whenever they got into an enthusiastic discussion about, well, anything. The latest debate had been over which Smash Bros character was the best.
Your happiness at work filtered into your cheeriness at home, and vice versa. Your parents were even able to pick up on your cheery mood as you talked to them over the phone. Although they were cities away and unable to come up to Seoul as often as they liked, you made the effort to call them at least once a week.
Jongdae liked to say hi to your parents whenever he heard that you were on the phone with them. Nothing more than the usual effervescent, genuine greeting, and then he left you with a kiss and your privacy to continue your phone call. As familiar as he was with your parents, you were almost terrified about meeting his. It was slightly comforting to know that they loved you already, but meeting your partner's parents was always a nerve-wracking event. Jongdae never pushed you to meet them, much less talk to then until you were ready.
But deep down, you knew that this was something you would have to do eventually.
Tumblr media
You met them for the first time (again) at his parents on a sunny weekend in March, during a family get-together at their house. Jongdae's older brother was there too with his wife, their little daughter back home spending some time with her maternal grandmother.
It was easy to see where Jongdae's assorted charms came from as you observed his parents. His father was reliable and always ready to lend a hand, even when you didn't say anything. His mother was bubbly and optimistic, constantly refreshing others with a kind word and a warm smile.
And Jongdae, sweet as ever, was by your side throughout it all. A hand on your waist as you talked to his mom, a hearty laugh when you innocently pointed out that his brother had a piece of spinach stuck in his teeth.
His childhood home was gone, but his parents still kept a room reserved for him and his brother in their new apartment. Boxes of artifacts from his youth were stacked against the wall, full of yearbooks, letters and stuffed plushies spilling out when you opened them up.
"You have a teddy bear collection?" you asked, picking up one with a plush skateboard attached to its feet. "This might be the cutest thing I've ever seen."
"Stop," Jongdae whined, falling to the floor and covering his face with his hands as you laughed. "I feel bad about throwing them out."
"I'm serious, Dae. This is adorable." You sat the bear up against the pillows on his bed, lining up bear after bear until you had an entire row there. Some were in better condition than others, but all had been well-loved.
Jongdae showed you old photos of the band he was in during high-school, an adolescent version of him sporting different hairstyles that his friend did for him. "I let him practice on me, but I drew the line at mohawks. My mom would've killed me, and Jongdeok would've teased me about it forever. Not that he doesn't tease me enough already," he added with a good-natured roll of his eyes.
"How about now?" you asked, wiggling your eyebrows. "I think you'd look good in one."
Jongdae choked on his laughter, tears welling in the corners of his eyes as you frantically got him up to a sitting position. "I'm fine," he assured you, coughing in between chuckles. "You just surprised me."
"You mean you don't want a hairstyle that makes you look like a rooster?" you quipped, joining in as Jongdae erupted into giggles once more.
"Okay, that's it, I'm never going with you to the hair salon." His chest continued to rumble with laughter as he leaned against you, his cheek pressed against your head. "I'm glad you're having a good time here."
"Your family's so sweet, how can I not?"
Jongdae smiled to himself, head ducking down to kiss you. "I'm happy that you're happy, darling."
Jongdae's family members were so similar to himself, how could you not love them? They welcomed you into the family a second time, your personality suiting their easygoing ways.
And something you really appreciated — not once did any of them comment on your ring-less finger.
Tumblr media
It had been a journey wracked with guilt and confusion, but you had reached the point where looking at your wedding ring didn't send you into a whirlpool of nervousness.
A few weeks and sessions unpacking your guilt with Dr. Suh later, you even took to wearing your wedding ring again — although not where you were traditionally expected to. The elegant piece of jewelry hung from a thin silver chain around your neck, an old Christmas present from your father.
Your ring was the bridge between your present and past — but more importantly, your future. Wearing your ring grounded you, reminded you about how lucky you were to be here now, even if you couldn't remember the past six years. It was comforting to feel the slight pull on your necklace when you leaned forward, the ring swinging forward and catching the light.
What warmed your heart even more was Jongdae's reaction to seeing it again.
You had been antsy all day, the ring hidden under your shirt. For all Jongdae knew, you were just wearing a necklace you had rediscovered. But when you leaned down to pick up a pair of shoes, the ring slipped out from its hiding place. Jongdae, who tended to be completely oblivious to his surroundings, took a bit to realize what he was seeing. Once he did, however, his mouth fell open, eyes trained solely on the ring at your neck. No matter how many times you replayed it in your mind, you couldn't figure out who had moved first. All you knew was that both of you were in each other's arms, Jongdae's lips on yours as he kissed you like his life depended on it.
When he managed to finally pull away, he looked you in the eye, asking why you chose to wear it.
"It just feels right," you murmured, fingers tracing over his collarbones. You couldn't meet his gaze, feeling the the intensity of his eyes on yours. You needed to be clear-headed if you wanted to get your thoughts out correctly. "I used to be scared of it. I knew that I loved you, but I wasn't sure if I was ready for a big commitment like this. It's my first time being married," you finished with a soft laugh.
Jongdae lifted your chin up gently, waiting until you were looking at him. "You didn't do this just for me, right?" He swallowed back the nervousness creeping up his throat.
You shook your head. "Not just for you or me, but for us, darling."
Jongdae froze for a second before his hands came up to your cheeks, caressing them softly. “Say it again, please.” His voice was shaky, despite the steadiness of his hands. "I've missed hearing that."
"Darling Jongdae," you whispered back, your own hands trembling as they reached up to cover Jongdae's where they rested on your face. "I love you. I don't think I ever really stopped."
Jongdae let out an unexpected sob, closing his eyes and ducking his head. His hands dropped from your face, taking yours down with him.
"Dae, don't cry," you pleaded, reaching out to be the one to cradle his face now. "Dae," you said tenderly, brushing his bangs back as he tried to hide his tears.
He turned his head, wiping his face on his sleeve before turning back to you. His eyes were red-rimmed, tears clumping his eyelashes together. "I'm happy," he choked out, taking in a shuddering, raspy breath. "You make me happy, Y/N, no matter what you do. But this... nothing even compares to this.”
"But I'm not even wearing the ring the right way," you murmured, surprised by his strong reaction.
Jongdae shook his head, brows drawn low over his face, a serious glint to his eye. "It doesn't matter where you wear it. You could wear it on your pinky toe, for all that I care. But I'm... I'm honored that you would choose to wear it again. To choose me again."
"It's only ever been you, Jongdae. I'd fall for you again, a million times over if it meant I got to be with you." You kissed him, feeling the subtle tickle of his eyelashes against your skin when he closed his eyes.
"I love you," he breathed, unwilling to move even an inch away when he was already drunk off of you.
"I love you too, Dae."
And in your soul, you felt that truer words had never been spoken.
Tumblr media
Winter ended and with it came sunnier spring days, each with their fair share of rainy ones. You and Jongdae had spent these early months of the year cuddled up in late winter's warmth, discovering new things about each other as the first seeds began to sprout. It was normal now for Jongdae to pick you up from work, for both of you to come home and talk about your days over dinner and then spend the rest of the night lazing around.
Your old worries tended to creep up on you from time to time, but your circle of supporters were always ready to listen and comfort. You confided in Dr. Suh, sharing your deepest, darkest fears about not being able to live up to the person you had been before the accident. It took a lot of talking out your thoughts and thinking through the realities of them, sorting through what was fact and fiction, and the importance of living for now.
You had gotten so used to having Dr. Suh as another shoulder to lean on that it knocked your world off balance when you got down to your last sessions.
"I don't think there's anything left for me to help you with," she explained. "You've done an amazing job learning to talk through your problems, and not just to me. I've seen how much you and Jongdae have improved, and I think it's time that I take a step back."
"This is so weird, it feels like it was only a couple of weeks ago that I came in here for the first time," you mused.
"Time really has flown by, hasn’t it?” Dr. Suh took off her glasses, resting them on top of her leg. "You've made so much progress, and I have faith in your abilities to continue your good work. I'll miss my sessions with you and Jongdae, but I sincerely believe that neither of you need me anymore. I'm proud of you both."
A sudden wave of emotion came over you, gratitude towards Dr. Suh for all of her help over the past months, to uncertainty about the days ahead without these confidential talks in her office. "Are you sure?" you asked meekly. "What do I do if I need help again?"
"Then I'll always be here. But I think you and Jongdae have done more for each other than I have." Her lips curled upwards, bringing an uncommon youthfulness to her usually calm demeanor.
"I'm sure together, the two of you will be just fine."
Tumblr media
Six months later...
Your played with the ring hanging from your neck, one foot tapping anxiously against the floor. Tonight was the night. It wasn't your first holiday with Jongdae, and some people wouldn't consider a birthday a "real" holiday anyways, but in your eyes, it was absolutely imperative that everything go smoothly tonight.
"Y/N, relax, he'll be here soon," Key said, wiping off a few beads of sweat from his forehead. "If you stay in the kitchen any longer, you'll end up sweating in that outfit."
He had a point. "Are you sure you don't need any help?" you asked, leaning across the counter. Key had done his best to keep you out of the kitchen, sparing one glance at your dress and stating that he wouldn't be the one to get oil or food residue on your outfit. After you begged and pleaded, he begrudgingly agreed to let you sit and watch from across the counter.
"I'm sure," Key emphasized, waving you away with one hand. "Now hurry and get out there before your dress starts to smell like beef or something."
With a snort, you hopped off the stool, pushing open the kitchen door and leaving the chefs to their own devices.
The restaurant was nearly empty, the last few customers finishing up their meals and settling their checks. You had offered to work today, but Irene wouldn't hear of it, especially after hearing of your plans to celebrate Jongdae's birthday. She even insisted that you take your time off to go and treat yourself to some time at a salon. That didn't stop you from showing up an hour before you told Jongdae to meet you, running through your plans and finalizing them.
For your sake, the restaurant was closing early tonight so that you and Jongdae would have the whole place to yourselves. Well, yourselves, and the rest of the staff who you knew would be eavesdropping at every moment.
"Y/N!" Junmyeon called out, coming over with two copies of your menu. "We finally got the printer to work, what do you think?"
In his hands were two menus, the thick leaves of paper already laminated and placed inside the leather bindings. You read down the list, nodding contentedly at what you saw there. "Perfect! Thanks so much, Myeon. I know how much trouble the printer was giving you."
"If it's for you and Jongdae, it's not a problem. You can pay me in leftover food, though." He laughed as he walked away, the apples of his cheeks tinged pink with mirth.
One table by the window had been especially reserved for both of you, the table settings already freshly cleaned after the previous diners. You leaned over, rearranging the petite flowers in the vase that sat there, the golden sunshine of their petals instantly lifting your mood. The simple arrangement held a mix of dandelions and black-eyed Susans, with some sprigs of baby's breath to add some subtle contrast. As much as you and Jongdae both loved lavender, you noticed how he was always drawn to any sort of buttery, yellow flower. His face had brightened up when you brought some home the other day, his nose disappearing into the depth of petals as he smelled the fragrant scent. He made you laugh when he picked one out, sticking it behind his ear as you both did the rest of your Saturday chores.
"Y/N, it's almost time!" Irene came up from behind, smoothing down your hair and giving you a final look-over. She nodded to herself when she was satisfied, gently pushing you into a chair.
"Irene, I'm probably gonna stand up again once he comes in," you said, even as your boss meticulously straightened out every little bit and piece on the table.
"That might be true, but when Jongdae walks up to the entrance, the first thing he's going to see is you sitting here by the window. With the light coming at you from this angle and your vase of flowers here, you look like you belong in a painting. Jongdae will be at a complete loss for words."
Your lips quirked up at the unexpected compliments, thanking your friend for her help tonight.
"I'm happy to do this for you, Y/N. We all are." She glanced up, spotting something through the window. "I'd say good luck, but I know that you won't need it."
You followed her line of sight, sitting up in your seat and craning your neck until you saw Jongdae, frozen on the path leading up to the restaurant. He broke out of his stupor when he met your eye, raising a hand to wave shyly. You didn't even notice Irene as she slipped away discreetly, your heart melting at the sight of Jongdae. Your boss may have tried to frame you like a portrait in a museum, picturesque and pleasing to the eye, but no work of art could surpass Jongdae's beauty in your eyes.
Jongdae greeted Johnny at the entrance, following through the charade as the taller man led him to your table — the only occupied table in the entire restaurant. He took his seat, fingers tapping nervously against his legs as he gave you a crooked smile. "Hi, darling. I didn't think we'd be the only ones here tonight."
"Being friends with the owner has its perks," you shrugged nonchalantly. "Happy birthday, Dae." You had already wished him a happy birthday multiple times already, but you were overflowing with festive cheer. It was your first time celebrating his birthday, and you intended to make this a night he wouldn't forget.
"Thank you," Jongdae replied sweetly, his hand reaching over the table to meet yours.
Johnny came back with drinks and your specially crafted menus. There was only one option listed for each course, but you had made sure to pick dishes that Jongdae absolutely loved. His face lit up as he read down the list, unconsciously swallowing as if he could already taste the food. "Babe, this all sounds amazing. How am I gonna eat all of this?"
"I'm sure we'll find a way. And if we don't, at least we've got a full staff to help us out." You nodded towards the kitchen, Jongdae following suit only to see Key staring through the window. The head chef was unfazed at being caught, waving quickly before he disappeared from view and sending you and Jongdae into a fit of giggles.
The first course was the appetizer: a sampler of short ribs cooked in several ways. The bites were small, but enough to hold you over until the next course. Jongdae, ever the carnivore, dug in with gusto. "This isn't a dish on the menu, is it? Did you come up with this?" he asked in awe.
"I planned it with Key and Soo. They both helped me with the flavor combinations."
Jongdae sighed happily. "You're a genius. I could kiss you right now, you know?"
"I'd be fine with that," you smiled, leaning closer.
The door to the kitchen swung open, Ten coming to bring you the main course. You and Jongdae both jumped back in your seats, laughing quietly at your shared embarrassment.
If Jongdae was ecstatic at the sight of the appetizer, he was completely overjoyed when he saw what the main course was. "It's your kimchi stew," he gaped in wonder.
You had practiced the beloved recipe, the one from your cookbook that reduced you to tears months ago. It had taken a couple of test trials in the kitchen before you felt that it was absolutely perfect, nothing less than what you wanted to present to Jongdae. Tonight, Kyungsoo was in charge of it, but you trusted him with your recipe wholeheartedly.
Jongdae closed his eyes as soon as he took the first bite, the familiar spiciness and warmth rushing over him. "God, this is so good," he gushed, opening his eyes to meet your proud smile.
"I'm glad you like it. Kyungsoo did a great job with it tonight."
Jongdae nodded, scooping up some rice from the stone bowl beside his stew. "I'll have to give my compliments to the chef," he joked with a twinkle in his eye.
When both of you were done and felt like you couldn't eat any more, Ten came back to clear your dishes. You knew what was going to happen next, and the dormant butterflies in your stomach began to fly into a frenzy. Across from you, Jongdae sat oblivious to your inner turmoil.
"I don't know if I can eat any more. But then again, Mom always said I had a separate stomach for dessert." He laughed, hands resting over his full belly as you joined in.
"Well, I guess we'll see if that's true."
Jongdae raised an eyebrow, about to ask something when some of the lights went out, only your little corner by the window still illuminated by light. A chorus of singing could be heard from the kitchen, only to come flooding out once the doors opened.
Junmyeon carried the cake out, concentrating hard on singing and walking at the same time. Irene was beside him, hands outstretched as if she expected the cake to fall at any moment. Kyungsoo was right behind, the cake knife wrapped in a cloth napkin and held carefully in his hands as his cheeks glowed with excitement. The rest of the staff followed along, singing turning to shouts and cheers as the fun of it all started to sink in. Even Minseok and Baekhyun were there, Minseok recording on his phone and Baekhyun with a party hat on his head.
"Happy birthday!" Baekhyun yelled once the singing was over and the applause died down. He took off his hat to put it on Jongdae's head instead. Of course, always ready to go along with the fun, Jongdae let his best friend put the silly hat on him. It was much too small, and you were sure that he would have a mark on his chin from the rubber band, but none of it bothered him at all.
Junmyeon managed to get the cake onto the table without any incidents, much to everyone's relief. He hid behind Mingyu to wipe away the sweat at his temples while Jongdae grinned appreciatively at the cake.
"Matcha cheesecake?" he asked, eyes flashing up to meet yours.
"The one and only. I hope you like it, Dae."
"I love it, all of this. Thank you so much, darling." He brought your hand up, pressing a feather-light kiss to the knuckles there.
"Don't forget to make a wish," Minseok spoke up, still recording every moment.
Jongdae took in a deep breath as he closed his eyes. It was almost like watching him pray, the way he whispered to himself so softly, no one else could hear. He opened his eyes and blew out the candles, the room erupting into cheers and applause once more.
Soon, the cake was cut and pieces passed around. Jongdae had tried to cut it at first, but the slices were in danger of coming out horribly uneven, so Kyungsoo stepped in. Everyone was scattered throughout the restaurant, lounging around and talking over their cake. They were mindful of your privacy, varied conversations never interrupting the intimacy shared at your table.
"Y/N, thank you so much for tonight," Jongdae murmured, now without his birthday hat. "This is the best birthday I've ever had."
"Really?" you asked, fork stopping halfway to your mouth as your froze, taken off-guard.
"Really," he repeated. "I can tell how much work you put into this, you and everyone here. I still can't believe how lucky I am to have someone do this for me."
"I do it because I love you, Dae." You set your fork down, the metal clattering against the ceramic plate. "I actually have one last surprise," you stammered out. The butterflies in your stomach had now reached peak frenzy, almost rendering you frozen.
Jongdae watched, half intrigued and the other half worried by the trembling of your fingers. You reached up to undo the clasp of your necklace, slipping your ring off of the chain and cradling it in your other hand.
"At the beginning of this year, I wasn't sure what would happen to me. I was terrified and lost, and it took everything I had to even try to piece my life back together." You paused, licking your dry lips and readying yourself for the next words. Jongdae's eyes were wide, emotion swirling in that expressive face of his. The love and awe that you saw there spurred you on, words coming more readily.
"I was scared of falling back in love with you because I knew even less about you than I knew about myself. And the more I found out about you, the deeper I fell. It was the biggest leap of faith I'd ever taken, trusting myself to you and hoping that we would both come out unscathed. And now, every single day, I'm so thankful to have you in my life. I love you more than I can say in words, more than I will ever remember. Kim Jongdae, will you marry me a second time?"
Jongdae jumped up, surprising you and everyone else in the room who had been listening in. He came around the table, stooping down to cup your cheeks gently before he kissed you.
Someone started hooting and cheering, but it was merely background noise to you. How could you focus on anything else when Jongdae was kissing you like you were the most precious thing he had ever set eyes on?
"Is that a yes?" you mumbled against his lips, raising an eyebrow when Jongdae chuckled softly.
"Yes, with all of my heart." Jongdae crouched down beside you, on his knees as he took the ring from your hand. Both of you watched as he slid it carefully onto the finger that had been bare for so long. Once it was nestled safely against your skin, you pulled him back in for another kiss, giggling when your friends began to crowd the two of you again.
"Yo, but can people really get married twice?" Mark asked to no one in particular, looking from face to face for his answer.
"I was thinking more of us renewing our vows, but asking him to marry me just seemed more romantic," you explained with a laugh.
"And it worked," Jongdae added, his hand stroking the side of your face. "I'd marry you a thousand times over, if you asked me to."
"Don't say that, she'll really make you do it," Minseok interrupted.
You stuck your tongue out at your older brother, ignoring the chuckles of amusement at your childish reaction. Jongdae reached down to pick up your left hand, his thumb running reverently over the ring there.
"Thank you," he whispered to you, his forehead resting against yours. "Thank you for choosing me again, even after everything."
"Darling, I always will. Even after every hardship, every unexpected thing that comes out way, we’ve managed to still make it out together. With you, I'm never lost."
Jongdae's gaze softened, his brown eyes reflecting your own hopes and dreams back for you to see. You felt his thumb run over your ring again, the touch comforting and immediately putting you at ease. "You'll never be lost again," he said sincerely.
"I promise."

Series masterlist: ( 1 )  ( 2 )  ( 3 )  ( Final )
A/N: and that’s a wrap! thank you to everyone who’s been reading not only this series, but any of my jongdae fics since I started posting them here! 💕💕💕
for the flowers in the vase: baby's breath means long lasting love, dandelions can mean bravery, personal growth, healing, perseverance (there were lots of mixed meanings) and black-eyed susans mean encouragement.
if you guys remember the small paragraph I shared of this a long, long time ago before I really started working on the series, this will seem pretty different from that. I went through a lot of changes after hearing about jongdae's good news because I didn't want to write a jongdae scenario so close to reality. i’m still happy to end this series on a good note, and I can genuinely say that i’ve enjoyed every moment not only of writing this, but for writing everything i’ve done for jongdae. I won’t be writing any reader x jongdae fics anymore, but there’s always a good chance he’ll show up as a side character in future works!

The Spirit(s) of Christmas - Part 1
Tumblr media
Summary: It was your first Christmas at the Seaside Manor since you had inherited it. Whilst you were ready for some Christmas spirit, the ghosts haunting it weren’t as willing to celebrate.
Pairing: reader x Day6 (ft. previous OCs)
World: Spiritual Connection (masterlist HERE)
Genre: ghost au / romance / fluff / minor angst
Warnings: none
A/N: Welcome back to the Seaside Manor! I knew we couldn’t just leave the ghosts to celebrate by themselves - which apparently, they aren’t so keen to do anyway! So we had to return and see if we could bring in some festive cheer!
This story is part of a previously written world. It may make some sense, but to understand all the characters, I highly recommend reading all the previous parts and spinoffs in the masterlist first before reading this series! They can be found in the link above.
The Spirit(s) of Christmas will be shared daily at 10am from 2 December NZST.

Christmas was right around the corner and yet you had never seen so many downcast expressions.
Okay, so both Jae and Becky were kind of cheery from being reunited after all this time. Still, there was no Christmas spirit in the Seaside Manor and you wished to change that immediately. Especially since you were surrounded by so many.
Spirits, that is.
“You do realise just how many years have passed by where we haven’t celebrated Christmas, right?” Sungjin told you, pulling a face that made you aware he was not going to be the cheerful type. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that it would be his first festive season without Pearl, your grandmother.
So you looked towards the one person you knew you could count on to be optimistic. Wonpil let out a heavy sigh. “I bet even if I stood under mistletoe with Sarah she wouldn’t know I was there.”
“Stop trying to kiss the help, she’s not like Y/N who can see us all,” Dowoon told the sulking man sitting beside the fire.
You groaned, wondering if it was really worth being able to see them all. You had a business to run and over the Christmas period, the manor was fully booked with guests staying right up until Christmas week itself. You knew you would have filled the days leading up to Christmas with guests had you been open to. But admittedly, you wanted to make it special for those who called the manor home – dead or alive.
However, it seemed like you were the only one looking forward to it.
“It’s not that we can’t see why you want to get the place all done up for the festive period, Y/N,” Brian stated, forever the diplomat. You looked at him warily, already slumping in your posture. You knew there was going to be a but.
And you didn’t want there to be one.
You wanted them to join you. Decorating the large manor would be a whole lot easier with their help, much like it had been when you had renovated it. And apart from the tree you wanted to put up in the living room, there wouldn’t be anything nearly as heavy to worry about like when you were fixing the broken down parts of your Grandmother’s home you had inherited.
Brian smiled at you, rubbing the upper parts of your arms encouragingly before continuing. “But just like with our birthdays, we long stopped celebrating Christmas.”
“Well maybe we need to change that too, birthdays are important.”
“I don’t even remember my birthday, do you?” Dowoon admitted sheepishly, looking around at the five men he had spent over one hundred and forty years in this manor house with. Wonpil shrugged as Sungjin laughed, shaking his head.
“Do you remember my birthday?” Becky asked Jae as she looked up from where she had snuggled into him on the couch, and the man loosely holding her nodded.
“Of course, how could I forget that?”
“Oh, so you remember my birthday but not what I looked like after all these years apart, huh?”
Jae chuckled awkwardly. “You didn’t even know your own name until I told you so you’re not one to talk.”
“Maybe that’s not my name, maybe you just gave me that!”
Dropping your shoulders away from Brian’s hands, you slipped out of his grip and headed for the attic in hopes the decorations would be up there. You knew he had followed you, and when he stepped in front to stop your departure, you shook your head firmly. “It’s fine, I’ll just decorate by myself.”
“You know I’ll help you.”
“But you have no interest in Christmas,” you pointed out glumly, and he let out a groan as you stepped around him. “I just wanted us to celebrate like a family this year, that’s all.”
“Family?” he repeated as you pulled on the lever to bring the stairs down to the attic. “How does a family celebrate for Christmas?”
“Surely you would have seen how my Grandmother and her family spent this time of the year when she was younger.”
Brian chuckled. “That was a very long time ago. Besides, she never bothered once you were born since she would travel to your house each year for that. The manor looked just as it does now.”
You frowned, surprised to know that. Brian was right; you had never experienced a single Christmas here. Whilst you spent all your summers playing hide and seek with your five friends, when it was the colder months, you had always anticipated the middle of December when your grandmother would arrive, presents in tow. You hadn’t thought about what she would leave behind or how the men haunting her family home would spend the end of the year either.
It made you further determined to show them the best Christmas ever.
Tumblr media
You found a pitiful amount of winter décor in the attic, and it was much too musty to seem appropriate to place around your bed and breakfast. So when Sarah, your only employee, turned up the following morning, you smiled brightly at the woman. “How do you feel about Christmas decorations?”
“I was wondering when we’d be putting them up. Is today the day?!”
Grinning at her shared enthusiasm, you nodded, collecting your car keys and bag from the foyer. “Actually, we have none. Turns out my Grandmother never decorated for Christmas.”
“Well then, clean slate?”
“City trip?” you shot back and you both grinned at one another. It wasn’t just Sarah who came on the trip. It didn’t matter if you were going to the post office in the small township below or onto the closest city; Brian in the very least would accompany you. However, today Jae and Becky had decided to come on the outing, mostly because the newcomer to the manor had spent a lot of her time in the city until she wound up following a guest for a weekend escape to your manor. Despite being all too happy to have finally found where she lived years before her death, you could tell she was eager to see more bustle than the seaside township offered.
Sarah stopped you before heading into the Christmas store you had arrived at. “Can I catch up? I just realised there’s a shop just around the corner that I need to go to whilst we’re here. Is that okay?”
“Of course, I’ve got enough help with me,” you mused and then realised what you had said, cringing slightly. “I’ll see you when you’re ready to help me. Until then, I’ll just see what I can get done alone.”
“Nice one,” Jae commented as you started to push your shopping cart towards the entrance. You shot him a subtle smile, trying not to bring much attention to yourself. You had learned early on into your outings with any ghost that if you had headphones in and your phone out, any passer-by would think you were talking to someone on the phone. It was a well-formed habit of yours now and when you were set up, you glanced at the couple beside you.
“Where should we start? Tinsel? Wreaths? A tree?”
“You’re the one wanting all this, Y/N,” Jae replied with a shrug, rearranging his glasses on his nose before looking down at Becky.
She seemed lost in thought, her brows slowly weaving together.
“Should have brought Dowoon, at least he would choose colours for me,” you lamented, turning to push the cart down the first aisle. You might as well just see everything the store had to offer.
Twenty minutes later, Sarah had returned and you were actually getting things you needed. You had found a tree whilst she had been gone, in which she was still marvelling at how you had lifted it in by yourself. You didn’t have the heart to tell your friend that Jae had attempted to bring a smile to Becky’s face whilst flexing his non-existent muscles helping you.
Still, his ghostly babe, as he so affectionately referred to her as, was not even present any more, her steps slowing down, trailing through the winter wonderland section in a daze. It concerned you, but you had to keep up with the conversation with Sarah, who was none the wiser. Jae was either just as affected by her change in mood, or afflicted by his thoughts, growing increasingly quiet. Just as you were about to ask them what was wrong when Sarah went off to ask a store clerk for help, Becky stilled, looking up at Jae, tears welling in her eyes.
“I remember.”
“What?”
“Why we don’t like Christmas. Or least, why I don’t like it.” You watched the couple carefully, Becky’s attention turning to you as the first tear fell from her eyes. “We were supposed to get married then.”
Tumblr media
When you arrived back at the manor, you feigned having a headache to Sarah and then grabbed Becky’s hand, leading her into your bedroom and shut the door quickly. The whole drive back had been sombre, even Sarah picking up on the mood in the car. And while there was not a lot of conversation happening, your mind had been processing faster than the car was moving.
The brunette looked at you curiously. “What is it, Y/N? I’m sorry I ruined your outing-”
“No, don’t be. But can I ask you something?” you cut in, waving your hands about dismissively. Becky eyed your quick movements, giving you a small yet cautious nod. “I know you and Jae were lovers when you were alive. And when the fire happened…”
Becky’s head fell and you sighed, changing your approach immediately.
“You spent the rest of your life working away from here, and were displaced upon death.”
“I stayed in the house I died in until accompanying the descendant who brought me here, yes. I don’t know why I couldn’t leave her, though I did try. All I know is when I woke up in the afterlife; I could talk freely, despite not talking ever again after losing Jae. Then again, I had only accomplished saying five words by that time.”
“Both you and Jae now believe you were meant to stay with that family line until you ended up here. You were meant to be together.”
She nodded with a small smile. “Even when were alive. He was the only person who didn’t see me as different or broken. And what was shattered had been slowly healing.”
“And you were going to get married that Christmas,” you added on, Becky chewing on her lip as she nodded again. You smiled warmly at her, throwing your hands up in the air. “Why not get married?!”
“Don’t be foolish, Y/N, how can a ghost get married?”
You reached for her hand and shook it eagerly. “Why can’t you? You love him, don’t you?”
“With every fibre of my existence.”
“And you were going to get married at Christmas when you were together. Which you are now!”
Becky was slowly warming to your idea, her eyes flashing with a sense of hope. “Do you think I could even be a bride?”
“The most beautiful bride this manor has ever seen!” you replied, now bouncing with joy. Becky started to smile.
“You know, it would be lovely to go ahead with what we had planned to do before I lost him.”
“And now that you have an afterlife together, you can be forever his bride.”
“Y/N, do you think maybe this Christmas we could hold a ceremony here?” she asked earnestly and you nodded immediately.
Seeing the woman before you begin to smile with excitement, you knew that there would be a swift change in the Christmas spirit around here.

December 31st 1799 Day 31
This is very late, but better late than never, right?? For @drawlight
Auld Lang Syne Prompt
“Did getting locked up in the Bastille teach you nothing? You continue to dress in such an outlandish manner, you’re going to get yourself discorporated and you can’t say that I didn’t warn you.” Crowley groaned as the shuffled by a group of young British officers as they made their way down the street.
“Oh come now! I’m not that overdressed and at least I’m not looking as ghastly as you!” Aziraphale bickered. “Honestly, those pants of yours are practically obscene!”
“At least I know how to blend in, you just stand out, literary everywhere you go. Lucky it hasn’t caused more problems for you.” Crowley
grumbled. “So you’re finally going to let me see what you’re done to your little bookshop then? Feels like it’s been ages since you’ve let me into your humble home.”
“It’s not a little shop anymore, Crowley. I made some changes.”
“About time, that tired old building has been your base of operation for...well, since forever.”
“It was in need of some updating, and my last place was more of a library, this is, ah, just see for yourself.” The angel glowed with pride as they turned a corner and stood in front of a stately stone building.
“You have been a busy little bee, haven’t you?A.Z. Fell and co?” Crowley read. “Who is the co?”
Aziraphale shrugged. “It’s just a title really. Would you like to come in?” The angel and demon stood together at the threshold, as Aziraphale opened the door.
The space was large, warm and still the remarkably unorganized chaos that Crowley knew so well. Four grand pillars now stood in the center, above them, a massive window allowing Heaven’s light to filter in, filing the room with a pale light. In typical Aziraphale fashion, the furnishings were just a bit out of style to ever be mistaken for modern.
“I see you kept the old furniture.” Crowley remarked.
“Can’t expect me to change everything.”
“The silver tea set is new. Angel wings on the cups? Really?” Crowley snickered as he picked up one of the polished pieces. The angel pretended not to hear him.
“Seems like you have no intention of actually selling any of these books.”
“I have some intention.” The angel scoffed. “But not much.”
“A lot of work to open up an enormous book shop with the intention is not to sell any actual books.” Crowley meandered around the room, admiring the splendor and noting the personal touches the angel had installed. “I do like what you’ve done with the place.”
“Oh thank you.” Aziraphale said as he tidied some leaflets.
“Gabriel approve of it? I mean, all these little Heavenly touches must really put a cheery smile on that face of his.” Crowley grimaced.
“I didn’t exactly tell them yet.”
“You didn’t tell them what?” Crowley asked, carefully studying the angel’s posture change.
Aziraphale answered by gesturing, a grimace overcame him as he genuinely feared Heaven’s reaction.
“How could you not tell them? You’ve been talking about having a proper book shop for the last 200 years now.” Crowley said with surprise.
“It never came up. It’s been ages since Gabriel or any of them have been on Earth, and I haven’t been summoned to Heaven since the birth of Christ.”
“You just miracled this immense building into existence and you expect Heaven not to notice?” The demon laughed over the angel’s boldness.
“I didn’t miracle anything. I built it myself.” Aziraphale said quietly.
“All of it?” Crowley looked around with wonder. “By yourself?”
“Yes.” Aziraphale fiddled with his collar. “I rather like the work, and it didn’t take that long to finish. Mostly a labor of love, so to speak.” The angel ran his fingers over the marble pillar, seemingly impressed by his own handiwork, despite his efforts not to show his vanity. “But anyway, this is the new shop and you’re the very first to see it completed.”
“I suppose we should celebrate, seeing how this is the last night of the century and the realization of your bookshop finally coming together.”
“Well, we have celebrated much lesser achievements, and I do have some single malt scotch I was planning on drinking soon anyway.” The angel mused as he pulled the glasses off their shelf; two of them, no more, no less. “Where would you like to go this time to ring in the New Year? Obviously Paris is out. Florence? It’s been a while since we’ve been there. Perhaps Edinburg, you like Scotland and they are an exciting bunch.”
“Actually angel, I was thinking we should just stay in and celebrate here.” Crowley said with a shrug.
“You mean you don’t want to parade yourself around an adoring crowd?”
“I was thinking it could just be us.” Crowley bit his lip. “Just a quiet night in, you and me.”
“Alright then.” Aziraphale poured them each a drink. “Cheers.”
“Angel,” Crowley began. “This place really is lovely.” He watched the angel blush as a smile spread across his face.
“Thank you. It’s a bit formal and open. I have a room towards the back that I believe might be more comfortable.” Aziraphale noted the demon’s propensity to sit awkwardly in chairs, especially the fine vintage pair in the center of the shop. “Follow me.”
Aziraphale’s office was more an intimate space, with tidier shelves and a large chaise, perfect for lounging. The angel lit the oil lamps, their shades cast a crimson color across the room; a stark contrast from the swathe of golden sunlight in the main room.
Crowley settled upon the green and tan upholstered chaise and allowed the plush cushions to curve around him. “Oh, this I like.” He hissed in approval.
“Care for another drink?” The angel asked.
“Have you ever known me to say no to you?”
“My dear, it’s been so long that I cannot recall.”
“Angel, do you really believe that God intends for all of this to end one day?” Crowley, ever curious asks after several drinks.
“I don’t like to think about that.” Aziraphale confessed. “In the beginning, it was easier to keep myself detached from them. But now?”
“Oh come now! You’ve been fond of them right from the start! You gave away your damn sword, remember?”
“Right.” The angel shrugged as he slung back the rest of his drink.
“What was I saying?” Crowley pulled off his sunglasses and rubbed his eyes. He set them down on the table as he began to walk around.
Aziraphale said nothing as his eyes lingered over the demon for a little too long.
“Oh never mind.” Crowley said as something caught his attention. “Do you hear that? Sounds like singing.”
“It cannot be morning already?” Aziraphale fumbled for his pocket watch, squinting to see the lines. “Apparently, we’ve missed the arrival of the new year.”
“And the new century!” Crowley grinned. “How about it, angel, fancy making a resolution?”
“I resolve to do good, more good, oodles of good deeds. What about you?” Aziraphale hiccuped.
“Me? No resolutions for me. I’d rather get a New Years kiss.” The demon winked while the angel once again pretended not to hear him.
“It does sound like singing. Let’s go listen!” Aziraphale leapt from his seat, grabbed the demon by the arm and dragged him out of the shop onto the street.
There was a crowd gathered, men and women, young and old standing across the street from the shop. They were singing an old folk song, yet the lyrics were different.
“Auld Lang Syne.” Aziraphale said knowingly. “It’s by a remarkable Scottish poet. Honestly, my dear, do you read at all?”
“Not if I can help it.” Crowley muttered, knowing his words would draw the angel’s ire.
“I love the promise each passing year brings. The chance to improve, to progress and to create. There’s no other time I feel as optimistic as I do on this day. Happy New Year.” Aziraphale nudged his counterpart gently in the arm. “You’re not wearing your glasses! You’ve left them in the shop. I will grab them for you.”
“S’alright angel.” Crowley turned to face the angel, their eyes meeting under the canopy of stars above them. “Happy New Year, my old friend. Here’s to your bookshop, and for what it’s worth, I think Heaven should be proud of your accomplishments.”
Crowley continued to keep his eyes upon the angel. All the moments we’ve shared together, I know you better than any angel, and you, you know me better than any demon. He thought. When will you see that we don’t belong to them, that we belong to each other. We are on our own side, together until the end.
As the crowd dispersed, the pair made their way back into the bookshop. Aziraphale said goodnight, as he prepared to officially open the store to the public in the morning. Crowley called for his carriage, and he was whisked away to his home. He sat and decided that it was time to compose a letter; a letter that may not ever be delivered, but one that he needed to write none the less. A letter telling him everything, all the things Aziraphale deserved to hear and all the things he wanted to say.
