What could I possibly know that could ease the weight of my wrongs?

Things claim to constantly be shifting shape each facet of my character has stayed in place, bound under chains.

Shifting shape isn't an option for me, unless directed at my wants and desires, but never my character.

NUANCE IS MY ENEMY.

#the brotherhood of satan #american cinema #horror film #l. q. jones #sean macgregor #william welch #bernard mceveety #strother martin #charles bateman #ahna capri #charles robinson #alvy moore #helene winston #joyce easton #debi storm #jeff williams #judith mcconnell #robert ward #geri reischl #jaime mendoza nava #rural american gothic shocker that's somewhere between Race With the Devil and Children of the Corn. intermittently impressive; the first #act is a brilliant bit of deep south creepery with weird town and hostile locals‚ and the final act (and particularly the final scene) are #about as good as this type of film gets. also this doesn't spoonfeed and leaves a lot of dots to be joined which i kind of like about it. #it has faults too tho; the middle is definitely flabby and a plot twist reveal is given bizarrely early and then never really exploited #the cast are variable too; i enjoyed Charles Robinson's priest tho he does go quite large in performance‚ while Bateman as the nominative #lead has little impact. the real joy is simply seeing lq Jones and Strother Martin (best buds irl and often costars) hanging out together #in a film co written and produced by Jones. i bet they had a whale of a time. bears some similarity to the slightly later british picture #Nothing but the Night‚ but considering neither film was particularly big and both were the work of semi independents I'm putting #it down to coincidence. Jones would later novelise the script of this film‚ and continued plugging away as a modest filmmaker besides his #acting career (and I'm pleasantly surprised to find out he's still alive‚ tho understandably retired at 94)

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5/AP) — Former Arizona Corrections Director Charles Ryan has pleaded no contest Tuesday to a disorderly conduct charge for an encounter in which police say he fired a gun inside his Tempe home in early 2022 and pointed a firearm at two officers during a three-hour standoff.

The maximum sentence Ryan, who retired as corrections director in September 2019, could receive is two years in prison. Ryan’s trial on charges of unlawful discharge of a firearm and disorderly conduct had been scheduled for Nov. 20.

Back in September, Arizona’s Family political editor, Dennis Welch, spoke with a local defense attorney who said Ryan could have faced significantly more serious charges. “Pointing a gun at a cop is a very serious charge under the criminal code. He could have been charged as high as a class 2 felony,” said attorney Tom Ryan, who has no relation to the former corrections chief.
