Brawl Tier List (Based On The Relevance of What They Were Doing When We Meet Them In Subspace Emissary)

I'll explain some of my choices under the cut

So a lot of these choices are pretty obvious, although some are a bit iffy or require explanation of the Subspace story which can be found in trophy descriptions & The Dojo.

The first category was for characters who were engaged in the Subspace plot from the get-go and were the "good guys". In case you didn't know, King Dedede is the hero of Subspace, and if it weren't for him, Tabuu would have won, since he made the "reset badges", and his initial plan was to hold onto some people and give them the reset badges in case Tabuu used his Off Waves. Meta Knight is considered to be a good guy, even though he mostly just wanted to get the Halberd back. Fox I put into this category as well since he's first seen giving chase to the Halberd in his Arwing, so I consider that pretty engaged, even if we don't know the exact reasoning.

The second category is open and shut. They're the Bad Guys. Ganon, Bowser, and everyone's favorite winner, Wario. Technically Wario kinda defected from Tabuu and wanted to just steal all the trophies, but I'm counting him here.

Next was the "Used by Tabuu" tier. According to the lore, the entire Subspace Army is made from the power of Game and Watch (although it says the Game & Watch are unaware of this). Pikachu's electricity was being used to power a lot of the operations (most notably the Subspace Bomb Factory iirc). And it's implied that R.O.B was coerced into helping Tabuu, feeling so ashamed that he put on the Ancient Minister garb to hide himself out of shame.

The "Was Doing What You Expect" Tier is a tricky one, since some characters like Mario & Kirby weren't doing what you'd expect in their normal games, but they were fighting, which is something you'd expect in Smash, but I was kinda lenient. Pit was watching from Skyworld, which is in character. It's shown that Pokemon Trainer was looking for Ivysaur and Charizard, so we can assume he was on that journey when we found him in the Ruined Zoo. ZSS's motivations are kind of unclear about whether she knew about the Subspace Bombs and tried to stop them or if she just knew her Power Suit was there and wanted to get to it. I always figured it was the latter, so I'm putting it in this tier. Marth was defending a castle, which sounds right (I haven't played Fire Emblem). Ice Climbers were climbing ice. Monkeys were getting their bananas. Link was getting Master Sword. Yoshi was sleeping (which only gets him out of "Just Standing There" tier because he is Yoshi).

Next are the ones who just kinda showed up. And it so happens that all five of them make a pretty grand entrance. Sonic is the obvious example here. Ness also counts since there's no implication that either he or Lucas actually live in or even near the Ruined Zoo, but then again in the dialogue-less cutscenes tying together over 30 characters, I don't think that detail was important. Falco makes a grand entrance, although you could argue that he was meant to be Fox's backup. Ike makes a grand entrance with this Great Aether. Captain Falcon literally shows up to jump out of his car, punch a robot and kill approximately 50 aliens in one fell swoop, so either there was an F-Zero track around the Island of the Ancients that we don't see and he quit in the middle of his race to do that, or he just did that. Either way there's something wrong with him.

And then finally we have the characters who were Just Standing There. Luigi obviously was minding his own business when he got got by Dedede. Peach and Zelda I almost put in the "Doing What You Expect Tier" (or at LEAST Peach since she knew Mario at least), but honestly? They were just standing there. No hate, obviously. Sometimes you just gotta Stand There. Olimar was minding his own business letting his Pikmin eat a robot before they were murdered. Lucario was vibing on top of a mountain (as you do). Lucas was just being sad. And Snake? We don't see any sign that he's on a mission. We just see that he's been on the Halberd for an undisclosed period of time before dramatically revealing himself way way later. I like to imagine he accidentally fell asleep.

And then the last tier are for the 3 characters that are unlocked after Subspace, so I don't really count them.

Leon gets what he wants. He always does eventually. He’s the champion.

And what he wants right now is you. The prettiest girl in all of Galar according to him. So sweet, so kind, so clever, so good with Pokemon.

He’s madly in love with you, even though you guys are only friends. There’s just one problem.

The boyfriend.

Leon has some competition in his way, as you’ve told him over and over again how madly in love with this man you are. Leon has to watch him kiss you and make you giggle. Disgusting! You should be in his arms, kissing his lips instead.

He draws the line when you tell who you think is a good friend that you want to give your boyfriend your virginity.

So Leon “runs” into your boyfriend in the Wild area, and challenges him to a Pokemon battle with Charizard. Your poor boyfriend… Charizard just… burned him right up! What a freak accident! Naturally Leon deposes of the body before anyone stumbles upon it. He throws it into a cave, careful to keep his fingerprints off it.

His body is found a few days later, and it’s all over the news. You come running into Leon’s arms, crying your pretty little eyes out. Leon pretends to be all upset and comforts you as you cry.

That’s when Leon starts the manipulation. He starts twisting your brain to see him in a better light, to maybe even fall in love with him.

And it works! From what he can tell, you have a crush on him. Finally. Now he can begin the second step of his plan.

He decks out a room in his private penthouse just for you, and breaks into your apartment that night. The house is peaceful, and you’re wearing such short shorts and such a short shirt while you sleep peacefully… how is Leon supposed to resist you?

He sees you sleeping with your mouth open, and pops a few pills in there. He helps you swallow them too, how sweet. Those will make sure you stay unconscious for the next few hours.

And once he makes sure you’re out cold, he lunges his new prize over his shoulder, and carries you out to the car to rest peacefully in the back seat.

You awake in a very strange place. You don’t remember being here. Then Leon appears, to welcome you to your new home! You put two and two together and start screaming at him for kidnapping you, but he doesn’t bat an eye. He says once you’ve calmed down and gotten used to the place, your restrictions can be lifted.

And just like that he’s gone.

Your room is nice to say the least… he made sure to decorate it to your tastes. A large king sized bed, bookshelves, a desk, a video game system, anything else that may have interested you…

And of course a massive closet filled with all sorts of clothes… but especially lingerie. The sluttiest cuts you’ve ever seen! You even spied a few sex toys in the drawers…

Leon brings you fresh food and water very often, making sure you’re well kept. You’re still mad at him for kidnapping you, but pleased he’s taking care of you so well.

You eventually ask him why, and your suspicions are confirmed.

“Oh, love. Well I couldn’t let anyone else have you, now could I? You were made for me! So I had to start keeping you here… so I could have you all to myself. We’re meant to be together, don’t you know?”

At first you reject him, and he’s disappointed, but just thinks you need more time. So he gives you more time, and manipulates you more, until you finally tell him you love him after countless nights of being denied.

That’s when you gain a bit of freedom. Now you’re allowed to walk around the entire penthouse! Leon officially starts calling you his girlfriend too, and takes your virginity on a night you chose to wear lingerie for him.

You stay happily cooped up in his apartment for about a year, while still taking good care of yourself, before he finally sets you free. He knows you won’t leave his side, and you’ll always come home, but now you can start leaving the penthouse… as long as you always come back. (Which you do!)

After being his precious little darling for a few years, he presents you with a beautiful ring one night, and asks you to be his queen. Of course you say yes, and reward him that night with the lewd pleasure he loves to get out of you.

The wedding is wonderful, and he’s so glad to finally have you as his bride. Stolen, maybe. But his nonetheless. You’re a wonderful wife to him, no matter if you stay at home or have a career of your own.

But a few years into your marriage, Leon wants a little more than just you. He wants you to bear his children. Of course you say yes! Actually, you say yes many times, as you two end up having five little babies of your own.

A girl, another girl, a boy and a girl (TWINS!) and another boy.

Your children and husband are the lights of your life, just the way Leon has always wanted it.

Becuase you belong to him.

More Steve. Ya got SCP Steve, Bloodborne Steve, bruised/missing eye Steve, sassy cat Steve, and then......Ember the Charizard from the Pokemon AU lol.

The upper left Steve is from a Silent Hill AU. Where Steve is forced to go on a vacation with his parents to Silent Hill. Everything seems normal until they get close to town and wind up in a car crash. Steve wakes up in the fog world and starts looking for his parents.

While Steve has his own baggage to deal with, he’s also encountering monsters created from his mother and father’s issues as well. While Steve is able to face his demons, his parents are unable to do the same and by the time Steve meets them again it’s too late.

When Steve’s mother breaks, the town consumes her spirit. She refuses to see herself for what she really is, someone who is willing to let other’s suffer for her own sins and pleasure. The last time sees her is moments before she is taken.

Steve’s father on the other hand is a WAY bigger problem. Induced into a hysterical rage, Steve’s dad ends up stalking him throughout the town, trying to kill him. As time goes on his form becomes more twisted and hideous, and by the time Steve escapes the town he barely looks human.

It’s only Steve that comes back to Hawkins, cold and hollow after everything. Looks like Hawkins isn’t the only town with a shitty Upside down kinda thing.

omg I need to. Write you guys about this

So recently my life took couple of mf flips and eventually I ended up back in my home city (which is in fact, awesome)

And I struggled to get a job anywhere until I visited my old elementary school which is the purest place on the whole earth. I love this school. I love how they teach. I love the teachers. They all remember me and love me back.

The principal, who is absolutely my second mother like fr (they even share the same name), asked if I knew that one of my old classmates works there as daycare room attendant. I said that I do know and I actually came to also visit her! The talk went on and she asked if maybe one day I’d work for them as well

And I just stood there like 🧍🏽well actually

And WELL HERE I AM, they made me a whole ass arts and crafts teacher

I got 3 classes to teach so far and they’re pretty sweet kids! Willing to work if the subject interests them enough, very talkative, they’re awesome, honestly.

And just the funniest things keep happening

Y know how kids are very much present in social media these days and as much as we would love parents to control their screen time a bit more, it happens either way

Like on TikTok? You keep seeing literal kids on TikTok, 7-10 year olds n stuff

these guys. Know. Memes.

And they keep referencing to them. They dance. They quote. One of my students dabbed at me today because I praised the flower she drew for a reference for the class.

AND I KEEP FORGETTING THEY ALL PLAY GAMES WHICH IS SUPER OBVIOUS THEY DO BUT THEY TALK ABOUT IT SO OPENLY!!

you guys have no idea how it feels to walk into the classroom and spot those gremlins wearing shirts with Amongus or Fortnite and every second one of them has a Minecraft themed backpack next to their desk

Today one of my students had a pencil case with Minecraft Story Mode characters and I bawled internally

AND ALL THAT??? I mean it in the nicest possible way

Cause just as much as those games are usually kinda cringe or memes to us, to them??? They’re interests! And it’s honestly, genuinely so cool to see they’re not worried to show them off☺️

The funniest thing to me so far is actually talking to them about the games, when you’re a teacher. Cause from what I observed, to them, it feels like something absolutely out of this world. Teacher? Knowing THEIR interests??

I had second graders today and they were making tiny Pokémon figurines with clay (ditching the task I gave them but it was pretty late and tbf we were all tired). I praised the small Pikachu and asked if they could put together a figurine of Bulbasaur, because we were having a spring lesson. THEY WERE OUT OF THEIR MIND, they proceed to ask HOW DO I KNOW THIS?? WHY DO I KNOW THIS?? WHAT IS THE ELEMENT OF A CHARIZARD AND WHAT DOES HE EVOLVE TO???

We continued to have small chats about either Fortnite or Minecraft, still to their surprise that a teacher knows of their interests.

After that long day, I sat down to my mom’s car, fastening my seatbelts and had a single tear running down my cheek

“You said playing games will never be useful in my life,” I started, looking at her.

“You were wrong.”

Happy New Year.

It was a pretty good year for my gaming hobby and being a Nintendo fan. As usual, I did spend a majority of the year just replaying games I loved, but there were a few new, and new-to-me games that I played this year.

Around this time last the year I was on a Rare kick, playing through all the Donkey Kong Country trilogy, DK64, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo Kazooie, and Conker. and Mark Kurko's Snowglow Village remake, and this spilled into January.

The Rare stuff also lead to a N64 kick in general, as I found a few decent Mario 64 hacks that worked on real hardware, and I also finished a run of Kirby 64 I started a few years ago and abandoned close to the end.

I managed to make it through a short and easy but very charming Fievel Goes West platformer on SNES. I've got a lot of nostalgia for Fievel so, no regrets there.

I started going back and fourth between The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, and Banjo Kazooie - the Jiggies of Time, and it was interesting to visit areas of the game as Link only to come back to them as Banjo, this also marked the first time I ever replayed a full length romhack from start to finish.

I picked up several Super Mario World romhacks. Some of them worked out, others didn't, either because of romhack difficulty or hardware incompatibility, but it really was kind of a Mario year for me.

Smash Remix got some amazing updates adding Marina, King Dedede, and Goemon, among other things. I can't wait to see where else that game goes. But speaking of Smash Bros, I also discovered the Akenia build for Super Smash Bros Melee, and I was thrilled to play that game with some characters that came later in the series like Lucas, Diddy Kong, Charizard, Sonic, and Wolf.

And I cleared two Gameboy games for the first time, Donkey Kong Land, and Final Fantasy Adventure, hopefully I can get to their sequels in 2024.

From there I marathonned a ton of Mario games... the SNES version of Super Mario RPG ( little did I know a Switch remake would get announced later this year ), New Super Mario Bros U, Mario Kart 8, which I managed to get 3 stars on every cup and every difficulty rating, Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros DS, and Super Mario Odyssey, all in preperation to hype myself up for the Super Mario Movie which, against all odds, was fun as hell and filled my little Mario fanboy heart with joy.

Also found mods for Wario Land and Donkey Kong Country returns that made both games far more enjoyable to me. Wario's default walking speed was increased, and Donkey Kong Country's motion controls were mapped to buttons.

Revisited Sonic Riders again, and sadly kind of realized it was not as good as I remembered, having only two grand prix that are largely copy pastes of each other with different lighting. Still prefer the concept of those games than sticking Sonic in a car though.

I discovered a pretty amazing Ocarina of Time hack called the Sealed Palace, which is a it obtuse, but still very good, and I really need to get back to it, I had nearly finished it but went on a hiatus when other things caught my attention. Will finish it in 2024 hopefully.

And one of the big highlights, I finally became the proud owner of an NES. My family had one as a child but it was more for my parents than for me. I mostly played NES games via Nintendo's re-releases or emulation.

Among the games I played for NES, the whole Mario trilogy, Zelda, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, Final Fantasy 1, Dragon Quest 1, Metroid MOTHER, Kid Icarus, Super Mario Bros 3+, Mega Man 2, Kid Icarus, Duck Hunt, and I started up Final Fantasy 2, but have yet to finish it.

And in April I went to Super Nintendo Land. The experience was slightly soured for me but I had fun and got some cool merchandise. The actual ride was a little underwhelming though, and I didn't even get to go to the Toad Cafe.

In anticipation for the Legend of Zelda, Tears of the Kingdom, I replayed Link's Awakening, and Breath of the Wild, had a great time with both of them.

And then Tears of the Kingdom came along and completely absorbed my life for two months. I still miss playing it. Maybe i'll replay it sometime in 2024? It'll be interesting to see if my opinion changes at all, but so far, this one is in my top 3 Zelda games. It's not perfect, but honestly, mention any Zelda game to me and I can give you a laundry list of flaws for each of them, so a Zelda game not being perfect is old news. But it doesn't make them any less great. I think this one is just contentious because 1. it took 6 years, 2. purists of the old Ocarina Cone style of Zelda games are worried that they'll never enjoy Zelda again. They have my sympathies but honestly I don't ever want to go back to the old style of Zelda unless it's for a 2D game.

I actually tried to give Skyward Sword another try, I bought the Switch version, but like with every attempt to replay that game since it's launch, I just find myself really irritated by all the exposition that I just quit playing early on.

Against my better judgement I bought Sonic Origins Plus on Steam, and it has some performance issues. I really didn't need it, I love that Amy is playable but I kind of prefer her Sonic Advance move set, which fans had already modded into the genesis games. I think i'd rather just get an actual Sega Genesis to play these games on someday.

I finished raising every single digimon on my Digimon Version 20th v-pet, which is essentially like completing the "pokedex" but for digimon. Sadly not every virtual pet tracks that information, so I won't get to attempt that again.

There was a double dose of Ninja Turtles with TMNT II the Arcade game for NES and Shredder's Revenge on the Switch, I think a certain movie came out around this time of year that put me into a Turtle frenzy because I also started watching the cartoon around that time of year.

I am not mentioning every little NES game or hack I play but I want to higlight two excellent Zelda hacks called the Legend of Banjo and the Legend of Super Mario, which are exaclty what they sound like, Zelda 1 but with a Banjo Kazooie and Super Mario makeover respectively, both are very well designed and arguably a lot more friendly to players that aren't experts at Zelda 1, and do a great job at selling the illusion that they're intended to be Mario and Banjo games.

One of my big regrets for the year was Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3, Slime Speedway, which I bought because 1. I was done with the Mario Kart DLC and wanted more racing game, and 2, I was on a nickelodeon kick and was hyped up from the pre-release of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.

Slime Speedway is just not very well made. I am generally accepting of low FPS but two genres of games that shouldn't have them are racing games and fighting games. And it's very sad because I feel like NKR3 could be one of the better Mario Kart clones if it was better optimized and had less annoying sound clips... Nickelodeon All Star Brawl 2 was a good game but my hype deflated when I learned it would be cutting ELEVEN characters. Also the Switch version performs like ass but I really wanted to be able to take it to a friends house, so I didn't do the smart thing and buy it on Steam.

October is usually when I do my month long Halloween celebration of only consuming spooky media. But Nintendo and Sega had the nerve to plan big Mario and Sonic releases that month, interrupting my plans. But I did manage to slip in some spooky gaming, with Luigi's Mansion, an Evil Dead hack of Wanpakku Grafitti: Splatterhouse, and a Super Mario World Halloween hack, as well as a Kirby Halloween romhack. There was also the promising Super Mario 64 hack - Super Mario and the Monstrous Manor, but it seemed to lose it's spooky flavoring half way through, so I put it on pause for now and will come back to it in 2024.

I don't need to say much about Super Mario Wonder. It was wonderful. Easily the best 2D Mario in decades. It can definitely stand toe-to-toe with the original NES trilogy and Super Mario World. But Sonic Super Stars on the other hand? It's fine, but the bosses suck ass, especially the final boss, who isn't even interesting since it's just the Sonic 3 and Knuckles final boss again but without the Doomsday Zone sequence.

Super Mario RPG came out in November and it was a delight. My second time playing the game that year, I never would have seen it coming in a million years, but i'm so happy that it did. I already want to replay it.

I was put into the mood for Square RPGs, something I always felt like I missed out on growing up. So I started up Final Fantasy IV, which I played before, but never finished. I need to get back to it but I am officially at the point where I stopped playing last time, about to storm some tower in the underworld while the red wings are being distracted by tanks.

In December I started feeling Donkey Kong again and played the first two DKC games, and a few levels of Tropical Freeze, I thought i'd finally try out that new Funky Mode. I then realized that I was playing the exact same games around this time of year last year. Pure coincidence, but I do kind of want to play the rest of the Rare platformers...

I bought my first ever Mario sports game in Mario Tennis Aces, and I had a blast with it, though the adventure mode was surprisingly difficult, I have also bought Kirby and the Forgotten Land but have not really dug into it much. I guess my appetite for Kirby isn't what it used to be, that and my mood lately has been mostly on Mario. Maybe I should finish Yoshi's Crafted World, I got that in 2022 and have not played it at all this year...

Mark Kurko did his annual Christmas Romhack for Banjo Kazooie. I played it on Christmas Eve, and on Christmas Day, I replayed all his past romhacks. I think I might make that a new tradition, to replay all the christmas BK hacks, and whatever else I have. I found a decent Mario 64 Christmas hack as well, though it's only a single level.

And to cap off the new year, I started up a run of Animal Crossing for the Gamecube. I've been at it for a week and a half now. I am curious to see how long I can keep it up. But I have already found two NES games, and I kind of want to see if I can get the whole set and build an NES arcade in my basement, just like old times.

There's not much for me to look forward to in 2024 as far as I know, just the Mario vs Donkey Kong and Paper Mario TTYD remakes really, as I'm not too interested in the Peach game. But I hope we get some exciting announcements. I just am not ready for that announcement to be a Switch 2, I'm so tired of buying new machines.

Aster has been updated with a new look! And a job. And an updated backstory. Putting it all under the cut because it’s fucking long lmao

First up, not actually abandoning Aster’s original design, just giving her a new one to sort out the time and place for different scenarios I draw her in :)) little diagram below of the changes she undergoes over the course of around 5 years.

The Backstory

Born and raised in Wyndon, Aster and her older brother grew up watching the city change and evolve around them at a rapid pace. This impacted both siblings in different ways — in Aster’s case she tends to find herself getting bored or frustrated if her surroundings stay the same for too long.

In childhood Aster was pretty shy, and struggled to bond with people outside of her family, preferring the company of pokemon to her classmates at school. Generally came across as a bit awkward and quiet but otherwise unassuming to her peers, while at home she could be very talkative and energetic.

Became interested in battling from a young age thanks to the general culture in Galar being very battle focussed, and used to dream of being a steel type gym leader, just like Peony watched a lot of his matches on TV throughout her childhood

Taking part in the gym challenge at 14 years old made her reassess this ambition, however. She enjoyed the battles, sure, but the extra attention gained from doing well in the challenge made her uncomfortable. Once people started recognising her in the streets she decided that no matter how far she got, she would not get involved with the league afterwards. Aster did not want to lose out on personal privacy and it made her very anxious feeling like there were eyes on her at all times. Changed her plans to using the prize money she saved over the course of the challenge for travelling.

Then she made it to the finals. And beat Leon. It was a very close match, basically a draw, but out of their respective last pokemon standing, Leon’s Charizard was the first to hit the ground. So Aster won.

Within two weeks of assuming her new role of champion, Aster quit. Giving zero notice to the league, she packed her bags and left the region for Kalos after giving her family a brief goodbye. The league was not happy with this development.

Her disappearance resulted in a bit of a media frenzy for a few weeks, and Leon got his position as champion reinstated. Chairman Rose decided to sweep things under the rug by way of claiming the championship fight was actually a tie so this was all just a big mix up, actually.

After half a year in Kalos, her next move was to visit Paldea, where she met a Naranja-Uva student named Pecha, and some of her family (belonging to @peachsodama ). The two girls became close friends and would stay in touch after Aster left the region to visit other parts of the world.

Spent the next few years exploring different regions before coming to Unova at 20 years old. After about six months seeing what the region had to offer she took a liking to Unova, and moved to Nacrene city, living with a friend she met in her travels, and getting a job at the daycare on Route 3.

Nearly a decade after leaving Galar she made her return at 22 years old to take part in the Galarian Star Tournament at Leon’s invitation.

Her personality has changed significantly over the 10 years since she left Galar. Constant travelling forced her to interact with total strangers far more frequently than if she stayed in Galar. While some interactions were negative, overall she became more comfortable with socialising. Actively enjoying it, even.

Aster’s battling style has loosened up considerably along with her personality. As she commands her pokemon she moves in time with them, as if dancing along to the rhythm of the battle. Almost got banned from Gear Station for jumping around a train car in the middle of a battle when she first arrived in Unova.

Born into a family of flying taxi cabbies on her father’s side, at least one person every generation grows up to be one — family has a tradition of each child receiving a Rookidee as their first pokemon when they’re around 5 years old. In part so if they too become a cabbie they have a partner they trust and know inside and out, but mostly to ensure the kids in the family are used to being around pokemon and learn to treat them with respect from a young age.

The gifted Rookidee is also the offspring of the parent’s Corviknight — Aster’s family values their ties and connections to one another and having your first pokemon being connected to your parent’s is a nice sentiment.

Loves movies. While travelling, Aster would sneak into cinemas to see new movies, and once settled in Unova she got to work building a DVD collection.

Her Perrserker, Muffin, was a runt Aster found abandoned out in the wild when she first started her gym challenge. She took him to a pokemon centre, and raised him into her ace. He’s a tough little man now :))

Aster’s team has three main stays — Muffin, Mango and Goji. These are her guys who carried her through most of her gym challenge and haven’t left her side since. The other three slots in her party get rotated out often so she can give equal amounts of love to her other pokemon

The fourth party slot is usually taken up by her Carkol, Treacle, during work hours though.

Aster’s job at the daycare is primarily taking care of and hatching eggs trainers don’t want to collect, then raising the newborn pokemon until they can be released or given a new home with a suitable trainer. She also assists in handling particularly rowdy and aggressive pokemon when necessary.

Daycare wages, while consistent, are not the highest, so Aster supplements her income by visiting Black Tower on her days off when she needs the money. She makes some extra cash and her team get to battle tough opponents, they have a great time

Really dislikes using social media. Finds it super tedious, so the best way to stay in touch is just by texting her lol.

Despite loving cat pokemon of all kinds, the Kantonian and Alolan Meowth lines just rub her the wrong way. She just thinks the Galarian variety are much better cats.

Has multiple scars on her body that have accumulated over the years, most are from minor accidents during her travels or getting a bit carried away while playing with her team.

Champion of my heart

We love a man in uniform, even if it’s a questionable uniform.

Leon is a hunk, and he’s well aware of his status as such. One of his favorite things to do is flex for you. Please swoon, jokingly or otherwise. It makes him feel good and like he can protect, especially if you feel on his muscles too. Feel them, they are the real deal and you will not regret it.

However, with muscles comes responsibilities. Aside from his normal Champion duties (and post-Champion Chairman duties), he likes to work out. It helps him relieve his stress and makes him feel good. He’ll feel doubly as good if you join him. He’s happy to help you in your own workout, but if you’re not into exercising (or if you finish before him), he’ll let you be his weights. He’ll do push ups with you sitting on his back, or even lift you up like a dumbbell if you want, obvious dumbbell jokes included.

You will be meeting Hop and his family as soon as possible. He loves his family, and though he’s busy and far away, he wants them to be aware and a part of his life. You’ll visit Postwick together, and spend a few fun days listening to Hop ramble about his brother, his Pokémon, his dreams to become the Champion / a great Pokémon Professor. If you engage Hop, show enthusiasm over the boy’s interest, Leon will fall in love with you all over again. Nothing is sweeter to him than his love getting along with his brother.

He likes to have dates outside, out and about through Wyndon or the Wild Areas. He may be pretty bad with directions, but it’s nothing that can’t be fixed by having Charizard out or Rotom ready with a GPS. Even if you end up lost, he’ll make sure you have fun wherever you end up. Some of your favorite dates consist of getting lost in the city and just deciding to hang at the place you discover, be it a used book store or little known, local battle cafe just starting out.

Speaking of Charizard, the big dragon loves belly rubs, and loves you for giving him as many belly rubs as he wants. Leon is often left a little jealous of his ace, strewn across your lap getting drowned in love and affection (it’s what he deserves). Careful, though. Ham it up enough, and you’ll have Leon climbing into your cuddle pile for kisses and affection, and that can get very hot, very quick. Charizard’s tail isn’t on fire just for show.

Don’t ask to wear his cap. Leon’s happy to hand it over, but him wearing it (and sweating in it) so often means it kinda smells :( I would snag his cape instead. As gaudy as it looks, it’s soft and warm and smells like his cologne :)

Take a ride in the Charizard Car. He’s a daredevil, driving out into the Wild Area with it. If you’re an adrenaline junkie, you’ll get your fix drifting under the stomp of a pissed off Pokémon. This man takes his Mario Kart skills and puts them to use, for better or for worse.

If you’re a competitive trainer, he’d love to train with you. Sure, he’s the Champion, but he’s good at strategy too. You have to be, after ten years of battling being your main shtick. He’ll help you get better, and be your personal cheerleader the entire way.

Also, Leon will brag about you to the Gym Leaders. They know about you before meeting you, so expect some minor teasing from them, Raihan especially. He’ll mostly tease Leon about how lovesick he is, but if you wanna spare yourself the same treatment, join in. Leon will pout at you two ganging up on him, but he can’t help but smile, seeing you getting along with his friends.
