So, I’ve been playing with a MLP au for a few years now on and off but never did much with it. BUT thanks to @canadian-pug-cartel I’ve been refueled!!!! Hopefully gonna get some actual things done for it!!

“Look I can explain I-,” he said desperate fumbling for words, he couldn’t though.

“You lied to us,” Peni choked out large eyes shining wet with tears, and it was his fault.

“For how long?” Ham demanded

“I-,” he sputtered ‘all the time I’ve know you- every moment was a lie’ his traitorous mind whispered

“No- actually don’t answer that, you lied to us, you lied to me. Let’s leave,” he turned to Peni and the rest, “ and never come back.” He threw a look back at him, heartbreak- and hate was all his face said to him.

One by one Noir watched as everything he cared about- what he knew was too good to last- what he foolishly prayed would stay…left. Left him there. In a cold dank ally- alone.

Alone.

Alone.

Alone.

Like always, he was left out to dry- he played his damned part- and they would find someone better, ‘they would be happier too’ the bitter part of him lurched.

He stood up head low, fighting tears he knew would never come. He couldn’t sleep tonight, or the next night- or the night after that. He had to leave the city he had to-

“What are you still doing here?” He narrowed grey eyes at the last pony standing in the ally

“Well I can’t leave you here alone,” Peter looked him in the razor focused, and obviously (to Peter at least) hurt eyes.

“Yes, you can and you should. So why aren’t you? I’ve heard it all and I’ve had bigger rocks thrown at me than in this ally- “

“Why would I do that?”

“Because im a Monster,” Noir spat matter of factly. “Monsters don’t have friends, they don’t have family, and no one cares.”

Peter took a step forward- Noir took a step back, “I get it youre mad and you want to be alone- but can we talk? Or at least let me see you home.” Noir grit his teeth at the older stallion, “I don’t have a home anymore, I’m leaving town.” He swallowed around a lump in his throat, “and you’ll never have to see me again.”

In a move that was totally not inspired by a certain someone from Centaurworld, I got inspired to do some G4 My Little Pony redesign stuff. I really like the idea of the 'reformed' changelings being insectlike enough and them having vibrant colors...the problem is they fell apart when they took away the changeling's holes and otherwise monster-ness, and also the colors they went with I felt were kinda ugly. They feel like too much rather than an ungulate component of the rest of the world in G4 that, especially the later seasons, were going for.

My solution?

Instead of being eerie dead bug horses, they are eerie birdbug deer with a jewlbettle vibe to them.

So yeah, now they are perytons, which are flying stags from Argentenian mythology and classic bestiaries. Fittingly, OG perytons are associated with deceit somewhat and can have a hangry nature despite being deer. It felt like a match made in heaven and I couldn't not draw it.

Notes:

-As with Thorax in the actual show, their wings also function as their tails and are tucked behind them when not in use. When flying, they still hover like insects, but I imagine their flying to be like giant hummingbirds.

-Ocellus is no longer a little sister. In my version of the G4 timeline, there is a timeskip from between then and when Twilight opens the school. Ocellus is implied to be the new generation of changelings born from Thorax alone, which is why he has such a fatherly protection over her.
