Thank you very much to the author for the wonderful story "In the language of flowers".
I love to reread this fan fiction. I really like the au of the war universe and the Sans of this au. This is the most interesting work by a Reader like Sans. Also, your reference to the language of flowers and their meaning, I was also very interested in making my own selection of flowers that will suit "Cinth".
Here is my list: Alstroemeria - devotion;
Hyssop - purification, humility;
Kalina - uncontrollable emotions, painful attachment, dependence; "If you leave me, my heart will break";
Crocus - rebirth, cheerfulness, fun, joy, affection;
Asphodel - my regrets will follow you to the grave;
Cedar - "I live only for you";
Petunia - anger and bitterness;
Grass - submission, "I'm ready to forgive you everything.";
Honeydew (Pulmonaria) - You are my life.
The idea of drawing "Cinth " at a turning point in his life has been spinning in my head for a very long time, and I believe that Asphodel as the name of the art and Crocus are flowers that vividly express the emotions of this scene and Sans himself.

Despite the future trials, I am very happy to see Sans recovering and becoming happy. See you later!

You stared up, stars littered the dark blue and black sky, it was one of your favorite views, the moon hidden behind clouds. In less than a few weeks it would get cold and snow would pile on everything the eye could see and it would be time for a variety of warm pies and pastries.
Your soup bowls tend to sell wonderfully around that time, thick beef stew or creamy tomato soup that warmed a person right up from inside and had them yawning by the time they made for the door.

I saw spoilers of this early in my time playing the game and now!! I have finally seen the in-game content regarding the pre-yassification of Rook. ngl, the whole "observing and enjoying aesthetics but never thinking much about participating" bit is relatable.

Brock watched as you went about your day. He really had no idea what your job entailed. Help desk wasn't exactly clear and cut, but you smiled brightly and most people that left seemed much happier.
Barbie caught his eye and smiled so wide he was sure her head would fall off as she waved. He scowled as you turned and spotted him. Brock shoved a hand through his hair and turned to find Nat standing just behind him.
"Aw, fuck."
"Hey stalker."
"I am not stalking," he grumbled.
She raised an eyebrow and leaned against the wall he had just pushed off of. "Ohhkay," she made a show of looking past him before looking back at him. "I stopped by her place today."
He looked over his shoulder. "Didn't ask ya to do that." The sleepover had been three nights ago, those two were annoying but… he could deal.
"I know, but I didn't get her much stuff, figured she would want to get back to her place instead of staying in your guest room."
Brock watched her lift slender shoulders. He had taken the guest room, his bed seemed to be more comfortable for you and he didn't give a shit. "Yeah?"
Nat smirked, "something wrong Brock?"
He glared at her, "no."
Nat nodded and he sighed when your voice called out to him.
He scowled and Shelly giggled, "he's really sweet huh?"
You nodded before catching yourself and huffing, "I don't know! He's rude and grumpy and everyone is scared of him."
"Not you."
You squirmed and saw Natasha appear out of nowhere. "I do have to pay them back… plus I have to get back to my place-" the thought turned your stomach. You would have to face your sister and her boyfriend, get them out. Your plan was to talk to the unit complex lords and see if they could help. Then there was the matter of possibly being kicked out for having guests for longer than a month.
You didn't think about how waking up in his bed made you feel safe.
Shelly watched as a slew of emotions crossed your face and smiled as you stared longingly at Brock. "You know, maybe you should… just crash a little longer at his place. I could bring some stuff over?"
You jerked out of your thoughts. "NO!" Shelly stared at you and you cleared your throat. "It's what my sister did, I can't do the same thing to him. Anyhow," you shifted in your seat, "I need to pay them back."
And that is how you ended up standing behind Brock.
You glanced at the book shoved in his back pocket, it looked familiar but he turned before you could get a real look at it and smiled as brightly as you could. You would treat them and then get your stuff from his place and that would be that.
Why did the thought make you sad?
"I- erm," you shifted from foot to foot and clamped your hands together at the two stoic stares now directed at you. "I wanted to uhm, take you two to lunch?! I can't really repay you for what you did and I need to be a grown up and handle my business, but if there is anything aside from lunch I can do…?"
Natasha smiled as Brock stood still beside her and wondered if he knew what he was doing at all? She knew the guy knew how to fuck, there were rumors and the women he had been with were very vocal about it afterward. The guy had been pretty far up in ranks while with Hydra and there were plenty of flunkies for that, but Y/N was a different matter.
"Lunch sounds like a good start!" She answered as you looked a little disappointed, probably thinking it was a bad idea. She stepped forwards and swung her around around yours and smiled at Brock, "right Brock?"
He caught the sparkle in her eye, the way she leaned into you and dropped her head on your shoulder with a suspicious smirk. He had asked her for one favor, what the fuck was she up to now? "Yeah, that sounds good," he answered, glaring at her.
"Now good for you?" Nat asked, looking at you.
You had tensed for a moment as she pressed against you but managed to relax and nodded. "Yes!"
Natasha tightened her grip on you, "Such a good girl!" She hummed before starting to walk, you stumbled a second before catching up and checking to make sure Brock caught up, he did, a few feet behind the two of you.
**
"So, Y/N you like books?"
You smiled at her, lunch had come and gone, the three of you sat with your drinks. Natasha was surprisingly easy to talk to, she asked so many questions and paid very close attention to your answers. "I do! I have a couple bookcases at home actually, eheh, sometimes it's a choice between rent, books and food. I was homeless for a while before I landed the job here at Stark Enterprises and transferring here to the complex to work, but I always had a book to help when I was lonely. Y'know? So, it might be silly to some, but it helped me not feel so lonely."
Nat liked the way you smiled, you really were completely open, which made her wonder as to why you had little to no friends. After her little trip with Brock she had made it a priority to ask around.
No one could tell her anything she hadn't read in your file. That was before she got to the pretty boy and the blond. It seemed they gave the same generic answers but she could tell they were holding back on information.
That was a good sign. At least you had two you could count on.
"... silly, but what is a girl without her books?"
Brock shook his head, "eating is important."
Your smile faltered, just a fraction of a second, Nat caught it quick enough even as you looked at your coffee. Made a quick note and kicked Brock under the table. He jerked slightly and glared death at her.
"A working girl has to have her small pleasures and treasures, am I right Y/N?"
You nodded enthusiastically and kept your gaze on your cup.
Brock closed his eyes, he hadn't meant for it to sound like that. This was bullshit.
"Brock?" He looked up at Nat's voice, she smiled, the damned redhead had quickly shoved him into the seat next to you when the three of you had made it to the complex's lunchroom. He didn't exactly hate sitting next to you, it made him want.
Goddammit.
"Didn't you have a book in your back pocket?"
You finally looked over at him, he could almost feel you vibrate at the mention of it. How the fuck did the widow know anyhow? He reached back and grimaced, he had been shoving it in there trying to figure out a good time to give it to you when there really hadn't been. Now it was crumpled up, a crack down the center, he jerked it out of your reach when your fingers grazed the books spine, flickering over his knuckles for a second.
You felt embarrassment when he pulled it away, really! Why couldn't you keep your hands to yourself? But wasn't that the new Ophelia Magnus book? Brock read romance? "S-sorry!"
You jumped when he flinched, jerking back from under the table, your gaze rushing to Natasha who somehow seemed unmoved but you suspected something had happened under the table. OH! Your eyes widened and you realized how dumb you had been. What an odd couple. Obviously, right? Since they had been together when you just up and threw yourself at them, and she had helped get your stuff from your place.
Mortification swamped you. You had been staying at his place. In. His. Bed. And she knew about it?!
Natasha watched your face, it was quite impressive how easily she could read everything that crossed your mind. Not that Brock was a bad choice but she would eat him up and spit him out, she also didn't much care about the scar running along his face, she was never one to care as long as it worked and she was satisfied.
"Ugh," she placed her face in her hands and shook it, why was she even considering it.
You stood up quickly. "I'm so sorry! Let me pay the bill!"
Natasha looked up from her spot in her hands, "I already took care of that."
You plopped back into your seat. "But I-"
She smiled and straightened, "it wasn't so that you would pay us back. We were worried, well Brock was more so. Brock the book?"
He pushed it over to you and said nothing, his shin already hurt.
"For me?" You asked, carefully lifting it, he nodded. It was the newest addition to the series you were reading. You hadn't gotten around to buying it with everything going on at home. "Thank you!"
He looked over at your little whisper, watched as you clutched the book close and smiled. There. That was it. That was the smile.
Nat dropped her chin to her hand, he was so obvious. That look alone was idiotic. It would be unfair of her to let you think there was anything going on between them much longer. Obviously he hadn't picked up on it either. She quickly sent a text before looking up at them. "So, I had a chat with your complex board and they made sure to vacate your apartment."
You looked at her in surprise, of course. She probably wanted her boyfriend back asap. "I really can't thank you two enough."
"Lets go get your things, I just have a quick stop at the help desk." She said before standing. You followed along with Brock staring happily at the book before tucking it away.
"What's he doing here?" Brock wondered under his breath as a tall brunette waved at Natasha.
"Is th-that the winter soldier?" You asked, stopping in your tracks.
Brock nodded and scowled as Nat hurried up to him and threw her arms around his neck. He watched your mouth fall open as she planted a kiss to his lips. "Yeah, I'm not sure if she's dating him or Steve, maybe both but that's none of my damned business."
"Oh! I thought…" Brock cocked his head to the side and stared at you. It took him a minute but then he broke, laughter booming out of him. "I!!" You blushed, bottom lip sticking out as you felt foolish for assuming. "It's not that much of a stretch! You're both hot! And… and… she helped so-"
"You think I'm hot?"
"My bag is in the break room…" you ignored his exclamation and dared not to look at the two that hugged by the help desk as she rushed past.
Brock leaned back on his heels, a shit eating grin in place as he shoved his hands in his pockets. She thought he was hot. Not just hot, but hot enough to be grouped with the widow. Wait, she thought they… he looked over to where Nat stood with Bucky who hugged her round the waist and pecked her cheek. He shook his head, how had you gotten that in your head?!
"Don't even think it-" she warned him.
**
The car ride to his place was quiet, you gripped the book in your hands. It was a bit of a comfort to find out they weren't dating.
"I'll just be a minute!" You hurried into the room you had basically taken over. It really only took a few seconds to get your items back into the duffle bag and you stopped, standing still at the foot of the bed.
You had gotten comfortable in the three nights you had stayed. You didn't want to go. You felt safe here.
You looked over your shoulder and hurried over to grab a shirt from the dresser. It would be okay. You could still see him at work.
"You should tell her to stay."
Brock rolled his eyes. He couldn't just tell you to stay. Even if he did like watching you shuffle into his kitchen with your messy hair. He didn't think it would matter, you had your place back, everything would go back to normal. He would put the cup with the daisies back in his cupboard.
"She could say yes."
"Don't be ridiculous!" He growled.
You stepped out and paused when both of them looked at you. Were they fighting? Cause of you? "Sorry I took so long."
Brock really didn't think it was a good idea to let you back by yourself. He walked behind you, somehow the complex seemed cold. Was he really thinking about having you go back? Could he ask you that?
"Thank you, both of you for coming with me."
Nat shrugged, "Kinda hoping your sister stayed."
You giggled as she smirked at you and you turned to open the door. Somewhere deep inside you kinda hoped she had stayed too. "Confetti?" You asked, turning to smile at them.
Nat looked at Brock and he shook his head as you disappeared into the apartment. "Not me," she said following behind you.
Brock nearly crashed into her, Nat stopping almost instantly, "the fuck?!" He demanded before huffing out air to blow a strip of white confetti from his face.
"Brock-"
He looked over her shoulder to find you standing at a pile of confetti, paper scattered in strips all over the living room. His gaze stopped on the pile of books on the floor or rather what had been books. He jerked his eyes to your bookcases to find them empty.
All three.
Completely bare.
"No-"
He took a step around Nat, hands on her rigid shoulders to get closer to you. "Y/N?" He called out, making his way closer. He stepped around you, foot slipping on the scattered remains of your precious books. How long had it taken you to accumulate three cases worth of books? How many meals had you skipped? He had always seen you with a book, some were completely dog-eared and tattered, but your face screamed how much you loved what you were reading.
Brock stopped in front of you, caught the single tear that rolled down your cheek with his thumb. "Hey, Y/N…"
You smiled, bottom lip shaking for a moment before you tore your gaze to meet his. "I-its just… just books.."
He shook his head, brows drawing together. He would find them and he would bury them. He made up his mind. He didn't care that she was your sister, the guy didn't fucking matter.
"It's okay… I'm fine. Sorry, I-"
Brock tutted and his rough fingers cupped your jaw and you felt another tear escape, his calloused thumb quickly swiping it away. It was stupid to cry over books. Stupid. He stepped closer and you let out a little whimper before throwing yourself into his arms. "Why? WHY?! What did I do to her?!"
"Я, блять, убью ее голыми руками. Это фигня," Nat seethed.

It's A Twin Thing - Ch 6
Hetty continues her struggles with worrying over Trevor's possibly being sucked off, but at least she's not alone.
AO3
***
The morning went by fast as after Jeremy got ready and had breakfast, they spent the morning looking through and talking about the drawings Jeremy had created.  Jay had been thrilled to see many moments that Sam had sort-of described brought to life.  Something about how his imagination isn’t the greatest, but seeing it visually helped a lot.  It even helped bond Jay and Trevor a bit as Trevor showed off his ability using a chalk board covered in chalk to write some messages to him (Jeremy wanted to help ease the tension with them, somehow).
Therefore, they enjoyed having discussions on all of the various drawings.  Trevor knew that Jay wasn’t the only one excited for the stories that Sam had very much trimmed down when (or if) she shared them.  Some stories, Sam wasn’t even privy to, but all of the major stories or drawings seemed to focus on Trevor and Hetty.  Even before they got together – like the moment she brought him to see their plot for Ari or when she caved and lied that he was the ‘prominent snub’ just so he’d feel better about the dinner party.
Throughout the years before Sam arrived, she appeared as well, not necessarily more than any other ghost, but enough that he wondered if he’d always been interested in her?  Was it possible?
He knew that up until the washing machine incident Hetty would’ve never considered anything sexual with anyone – except maybe Isaac, due to her crush on him, but even then, she hadn’t considered it until last year.  So, he hadn’t really considered her a possibility either, but these drawings seem to indicate some level of being drawn to each other.
Flower had joked about it for ages, but he always brushed her off.  Relationships amongst the ghosts just didn’t happen.  They didn’t typically have the same urges after they died, unless they thought about it or has some outside force be involved.  Like his pursuing women on the dating app or getting revved up after the thing with Bela and Eric at the holidays.
Another thing could be the ghosts being voyeurs to the couples in the house – as with Flower and Alberta watching him and Ari, but even that didn’t spark the same level of horniness that it would if they were alive, and they could make do with some time alone.
It seemed that there was a lower sex drive as a ghost until one found themselves activating that sex drive. Hence, Trevor and Flower being the ones most interested in sex for a long time, even as ghosts, but getting beyond it easily, until… recently.  All of the life happening in the manor and seeing how happy Sam and Jay are together probably affected them all.  It definitely seemed to spark something in him and Hetty, Flower and Thor, plus Pete’s insistence at dating Alberta, and Nigel’s wanting to pursue something more with Isaac…
It was all very interesting.
He glances up at Hetty, who gives him a little smile as she stands with Flower, across from him.  Despite the smile, he could sense that something was bothering her, but before he could contemplate going over there to talk to her, her eyes slide to Jeremy, and he knows that she doesn’t want to interrupt what he’s got going on with his brother.
He appreciates that as whatever is bothering her is something that they could surely discuss another time. Especially since they have eternity.  He gives her a smile before returning to the drawings and focusing on Jeremy.
***
Hetty wants to be happy for him – should be happy for him, if she were pressed, she would answer that of course she’s as happy for him as they were when they believed that Thorfinn might be sucked off at his funeral, but there’s a part of her that is decidedly unhappy for herself.  If he got sucked off, then everything they had would be gone – and she spent so long fighting her feelings… he may never even know.
She knows that it is terribly unfair, but she does not want this to be the end when they have only just begun to truly enjoy one another.  She feels a slightly tug on her arm jarring her attention from Trevor and his brother to Flower, who clearly wants to lead her away somewhat.
Knowing that Trevor is busy, it would not hurt to find out what Flower wants, thus she lets Flower lead her upstairs to the upstairs den.  She doesn’t speak at first, evidently waiting for Hetty to speak.
“Flower, dear, why have you brought me up here?”
“I just want you to know that it’s okay to be worried and it’s even okay to be upset.”
“I do not know of which you are referring.”
Before Flower can respond, Samantha and Alberta enter the room.
“Are you okay?” Samantha asks, sounding worried.  “You looked a little upset down there…”
“I am fine.  I am not upset,” Hetty lies.  “Why would I be upset?”
“I don’t know – I thought you’d be thrilled to see Trevor with his brother, you seemed happy when they reunited,” Samantha offers.
“Yeah, you were excited to hear their stories, yesterday,” Alberta offers.  “So, why the sad looks today?”
Before Hetty could try to work her away around discussing her feelings for Trevor and his possibly being sucked off, Flower asks, “Isn’t it obvious?”
“Uh, no?”
“Trevor might get sucked off,” Flower states, plainly.
Hetty, somehow, hadn’t expected that Flower had picked up on that being a possibility, but if she thought so, too, then it stands to reason that it’s a strong possibility.  Samantha and Alberta, on the other hand, both scoff slightly.  “Please, he’s not going anywhere.”
“I can’t be the only one thinking it,” Flower states.
“Flower, you don’t just get sucked off whenever you meet a relative,” Alberta states.  “Or else we’d all have gotten sucked off by now.”
“Let’s look at the facts – Trevor was betrayed (which he found out and worked passed it), Trevor’s body was laying at the bottom of the lake and his family didn’t know about it (yet, now they have closure, and his body has been properly buried), and now, his brother is here.  The man can finally feel good and get closure with his twin brother – what else is there?  Finding someone that he could’ve spent his life with?  He’s resolved that, too – either accepting it and the fact that he’s dead or falling in love with Hetty.  There’s nothing else for him to work passed, is there?”
Flower is right – except the whole falling in love thing, Trevor was not in love with her, of that, she is sure. Everything else though was exactly as Hetty believed, Trevor resolved so many of his issues.
“Flower,” Samantha hisses, looking at the Hetty, who had moved to the window.  “You’re scaring, Hetty.”
“I’m being real, Sam,” Flower states, her voice wavering as she, too, is upset.  “Trevor is my best friend – I know him better than anyone in this house – I know what his issues are, and just like with Thor, I don’t want to lose him, but it doesn’t change the fact that I need to be prepared that he might leave.”
“You don’t know –”
“She does, Samantha.  I have been considering the same thing,” Hetty admits.  “Flower has been closer to Trevor aside from the last six months – even a large portion of it as I was a bit resistant to share things and be friends...  She knows as much as I do about his issues, and now he’s reunited with the other half of his soul and making amends… it really is only a matter of time.”
Samantha softens.  “While I know the two of you know him best, let’s not forget that we believed a funeral was enough for Thor and it wasn’t.  Isaac’s afterlife-long dream of getting recognition was realized and he’s still here.  Alberta discovered her murderer – something she wondered about for ages and she’s still here.  Flower made amends with her brother and she’s still here.  Pete’s discovered his betrayal by his wife and best friend and he's still here.  You’ve made your own progress – stood up to Elias and yet…”
Hetty looks at her worriedly.  Could she have been in danger of losing everyone?
“Now, you’re freaking her out,” Alberta admonishes.  “What Sam’s trying to say is that what we think may be the reason we’re here, doesn’t mean it is, and just because we resolve certain issues, doesn’t mean that we’re ready to move on – whether that be up or down.  Hopefully, not down.”  That gets a chuckle out of the women in the room.  “We may never know what it is, but we can’t be afraid.  Yes, it would suck to lose Trev, but you’d still have the rest of us.  Even more importantly knowing how much we all want it, isn’t it important to be happy if it does happen?”
“It’s okay to be both,” Flower states, throwing Alberta a look.  “When it comes to losing someone – it’s okay to be happy for them and be upset for yourself.”
“I’m not saying that it’s terrible to be upset just –”
Flower and Alberta continue to argue for a few minutes when Samantha clears her throat, “Both of you – out!”
There’s grumbling, but the two of them do follow Samantha’s order.
“Hetty, I know that you care for him, but I also know that he cares for you.   Flower’s right – it should’ve been obvious how close you two have gotten, and unlike Elias, I don’t think he would ever choose to leave you –”
“I would not want him to stay for me, either,” Hetty admits.  She could not be that selfish.  “As great as things have been in the past couple of years with your arrival and such, I would not wish for him to give up his chance at peace, as it would be a terrible burden.”  She hesitates before she admits, “I am just not ready to lose him.”
Samantha smiles softly at her.  “I stand by what I said – we don’t know if he’ll ascend due to his brother’s presence and working through the issue created by his death, but if he does – we can be happy for him, and we’ll be here for you.  Me, Alberta, Flower, Isaac, Thor… all of us will miss Trevor if he were to ascend, but we’ll support that because it’s good for him and we’ll support each other as we grieve his absence.”
“Plotting to get rid of me, are you?” Trevor asks, teasingly from the doorway.  “What would you do without all this?”
Samantha laughs.  “You know, I take it back – I won’t miss you.”  Then, she says, “I’ll leave you two alone,” as she walks out the door leaving Hetty alone with Trevor.
He approaches her, slowly, as if worried he’d done something wrong and didn’t want to annoy her.  As soon as he’s within grabbing distance, she grabs his tie and suddenly they’re kissing.  It feels so much like their first kiss that she’s sure he’ll forget about talking.  After all, it was always easier to avoid talking with Trevor by a simple kiss to distract him.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t always work as proven when he leans back after a few moments.
“As much as I enjoy kissing you, Hetty, I need you to talk to me – tell me what’s wrong?  Why do you think I’m going to ascend on you?”
“It is the only logical thing to happen with your brother’s visit, is it not?”
“Actually, I think not,” Trevor states, surprisingly certain.  “In a lot of ways, I feel a thousand times better, but now, I have a way to talk to my parents, my brother, and when he dies – sometime in the far future – it is far more likely that I will ascend then.”
Hetty blinks.  “Why – why would you think that?”
“Because we’ve been connected for our entire lives, it would only make sense that our afterlives would be, too,” Trevor states.  “Especially given those dreams and drawings.”
“I suppose that does make sense.”
“Besides, I am not ready to ascend,” Trevor offers, giving her a smile and lacing his hands with hers.  “I’ve only just begun to get to know you on a deeper level, and yeah, I do want to be out of purgatory, but I am enjoying myself when I’m with you too much to move on just yet.”
“As much as I appreciate the sentiment, Trevor, I do not want to be responsible for you being stuck…”
“And you’re not – I am.  I know I’m not ready and I happen to be enjoying my afterlife a little more thanks to you, but my staying isn’t on you – it’s on me.”
“Even if the selfish part of me is happy that you will not be sucked off?” Hetty questions.
Trevor squeezes her hands and brings them to his lips to kiss them.  “All that tells me is that I’m doing something right.”
“You are touched that I do not wish for you to get what we have all dreamed of for years – to be at peace?”
“No, I’m touched because it means that I mean something to you – I’m not just your replacement washing machine anymore,” he teases.  “And I like the feeling it gives me to know that you don’t want to get rid of me just yet.”
He gives her a light kiss, and she smiles.  “I may never want to be rid of you, Trevor.”
“Well, then, I suppose that just means I’m one lucky ghost.”
“I like the sound of that,” Hetty says.  She’s never felt like someone would be lucky to be with her – Elias certainly never made her feel that way.  With Trevor, though, she can tell he means it.  To him, he’s lucky to have her and she definitely likes the fluttery feeling in her stomach those words give her.
Trevor grins.  “Good.  Good.  I’m glad.”
She gives him another kiss, but before either of them could take it too far, Trevor leans back, rather reluctantly.  “Uh, I would absolutely want to take this to our room, but Jeremy really wants to get to know you and our parents are supposed to be calling soon…”
Hetty smiles.  “We shall wait until later, then.  Would not wish to leave them hanging as you would say.”
“Later, I promise.”
“I shall hold you to it.”
