Interviews with Incredible Women
Here are some interviews that I think are absolutely brilliant, and I’ll explain why.
These women are trailblazers in what they do and I think, have really nailed the interview process down and you can tell because the more natural a person appears to be on camera, the more effort has gone into looking that way. Uneasiness, discomfort, shyness are easily spotted, especially with body language - and you can see the confidence just radiating from them.
Now, you may not like some of these women for whatever reason. I don’t really care about that - I’m simply looking at their oratorship, their presence in front of everyone and how they carry themselves. There’s obviously lots of powerful female orators, leaders and figures out there but I can’t possibly list them all so excuse me if I’ve missed out on your favourites - I’ll add them next time.
There’s a few things these women have in common:
1. They don’t always jump to answer. They think for a second or two before answering.
2. There are no filler sounds. They speak at a measured rate, which allows them to think ahead about their sentences.
3. They have a vast vocabulary.
4. They are not shy in disagreeing with the person in front of them. None of that diplomatic nonsense. There is clearly a strong sense of self identity and personality, unapologetically.
5. They show their vulnerabilities, weaknesses and hard times as thing of the past and accept them without a fuss- they don’t oppress themselves with it, and come across as strong survivors rather than wallowing in self pity. It’s what makes people admire them.
6. They don’t answer what they dont want to. And they beat around the bush with it, clearly stating that they will not answer those questions.
7. One thing I loved about Rekha’s interview - when questioned about an ex lover, she asks: “hey, is this interview about me or Mr Bacchan?” And it didnt come across as haughty or egoistical.
8. There’s feminineness in their strength. Them being strong in their stances is not masculine, overly aggressive or yelling - its firm, to the point, yet graceful.
This is what you should be looking at, carefully:
- body language
- Vocabulary
- Talking speed
- Gestures
- Facial expressions
- Voice modulation
- Expressing emotions

so it turns out that Theranos book that everyone was raving about was not overhyped at all.  i thought i already knew everything about the Theranos blow-up and thus would find it dull, but, turns out there’s more, and it’s all here in a juicy corprate thriller page-turner form factor, perfect
anyway, yeah, here’s an excerpt from this one engineer’s immaculately pissy resignation letter (context: he tried recommending a few management books to Elizabeth a few days prior):
good luck and please do read those books, watch The Office, and believe in the people who disagree with you...Lying is a disgusting habit, and it flows through the conversation here like it’s our own currency. The cultural disease here is what we should be curing before we try to tackle obesity...I mean no ill will towards you, since you believe in what I was doing and hoped I would succeed at Theranos. I feel like I owe you this bad attempt at an exit interview since we have no HR to officially record it.

50 Interview Prep Questions
Here’s a list of questions I used to get a job. I felt it could be useful for you too, and is fairly generic. I think this is one of the most comprehensive HR/ job application question guides that I’ve created - so I hope that you find it useful.
Questions:
Why are you interested in working for this company?
Tell me about your education.
Why have you chosen this particular field?
Describe your best/worst boss/ teacher.
In a job, what interests you most/least?
What is your major weakness?
Give an example of how you solved a problem in the past.
Give me an example of a time you did something wrong. How did you handle it?
What are your strengths?
How do others describe you?
What do you consider your best accomplishment in your last job?
Where do you see yourself in three years?
Think about something you consider a failure in your life, and tell me why you think it happened.
How do you think you will fit into this operation?
If you were hired, what ideas/talents could you contribute to the position or our company?
What do you know about this company?
Give an example where you showed leadership and initiative.
Give an example of when you were able to contribute to a team project.
What have you done to develop or change in the last few years?
Tell me about a time where you had to deal with conflict on the job.
What are your goals?
What can you do for us that other candidates can't?
If I were your supervisor and asked you to do something that you disagreed with, what would you do?
Describe how you would handle a situation if you were required to finish multiple tasks by the end of the day, and there was no conceivable way that you could finish them.
Can you describe a time when your work was criticized?
Give me an example of a time that you felt you went above and beyond the call of duty at work.
What was the last project you led, and what was its outcome?
Where would you like to be in your career five years from now?

What do you see yourself doing within the first 30 days of this job?
If selected for this position, can you describe your strategy for the first 90 days?
What are your lifelong dreams?
What do you ultimately want to become?
What is your personal mission statement?
What's the last book you read?
Who are your heroes?
What do you like to do for fun?
What do you do in your spare time?
Tell me about a time when you had to give someone difficult feedback. How did you handle it?
Are you willing to relocate?

I've always been under the impression that no one actually got in legal trouble for what happened in S4, Haida and Retsuko just stopped Himuro from using the fudged numbers and he got ousted by the board like they said they would if he didn't post a profit, and that seems to be confirmed by them saying Haida QUIT instead of being fired.
But that begs the question then why Haida had the trouble he did cause like. It'd be very easy to lie your way around that in an interview. The one we actually see him go to, and him talking to Retsuko later saying fraud is a big deal he can't just put behind him, I dunno, it just continues to paint the picture of Haida as not a smart man who's kinda causing his own problems.

Baffled and pissed that Ted Lasso doesn't have a physical release either. No blooper reels?? No deleted or alternative scenes?? No insight into the story structure shift from a half-hour to an hour over the course of the series (a wild change for a show to even be allowed to do)?? This show won awards. It's nominated for more. They really think not enough people will care about it to physically buy a copy with extra stuff on it?? I hope there's at least a YouTube video or podcast out there somewhere, but why do I have to scour the internet crossing my fingers for something that an officially released physical copy of it could easily provide? Studios want film & TV production dead, is what it really feels like. How do you pass along knowledge of how an industry works, how do you inspire future generations to learn more about and pursue it, if you suck the energy of current workers in it dry and slam the door behind them so no one else has a way in?

Heartbreakingly tiny Daisuke signature card from ~2004. It's the thumbnail for a gallery that didn't archive fully, so no other images seem to have survived from the event this was drawn for. There's a description that mentions the event having this signature card as well as posters and other things that were signed by Daisuke, Kikuko Inoue (I-No's JP voice actress), and Emiko Iwasaki (GG Petit's director).
