Stewart of Gal Lowav Virescit Vulanere Virtus Clan Badge
Tumblr media
The Stewart of Gal Lowav Virescit Vulanere Virtus Clan Badge is an emblem of honor and heritage, rich in symbolism and tradition. Crafted with meticulous detail, it embodies the noble lineage and valorous spirit of the Stewart clan.
At its heart lies the rampant lion, a powerful symbol of strength, courage, and majesty, representing the clan's proud heritage and unwavering resolve. With its fierce countenance and regal bearing, the lion commands respect and admiration, reflecting the noble character of the Stewart lineage.
Encircling the lion are intricate Celtic knotwork patterns, intricately woven symbols of eternity and interconnectedness. These timeless designs speak to the enduring bond of kinship and the unbreakable ties that bind the clan together through the ages.
Adorning the badge are elements reminiscent of the Scottish highlands, such as thistles and heather, paying homage to the rugged beauty of the clan's ancestral lands. These natural motifs serve as reminders of resilience and perseverance, qualities that have defined the Stewart clan throughout its storied history.
Above the lion, a heraldic crest proudly displays the motto "Virescit Vulnere Virtus," Latin for "Courage grows strong at a wound," underscoring the clan's indomitable spirit and steadfast determination in the face of adversity.
The Stewart of Gal Lowav Clan Badge is not merely a symbol; it is a testament to the enduring legacy of a proud and noble lineage, a reminder of the virtues and values that have guided the clan through generations past and will continue to inspire future generations for centuries to come.

Today’s Irish word of the day is GRÁ (graw). There is an online Irish dictionary where you can browse for translations and definitions at focloir. ie
Your interest will help keep Irish alive as it is the oldest living Celtic language that originated in Ireland over a thousand years ago!

- Cinnabar Moth - 'Frequent in open grassy habitats including waste ground, railway banks, gardens and woodland rides but perhaps most frequent on well drained rabbit-grazed grassland, mature sand-dunes and heathland.' A moth with bright colours that act as warning signs displaying their toxicity. They are seldom eaten by predators. And can afford to live life as a day-flying moth, living life in the sunshine, because of this.
In symbology - 'This creature is seen as a symbol of hope during difficult times. The cinnabar moth has the power to help us let go of our old ways and embrace the new.'

drew some more fanart of @zeragii's an inner light! this is kind of a cover redraw and kind of an illustration for the scene where the venerable druid discovers asterix has the solas anam.
i've posted a speedpaint of this drawing here: https://youtu.be/Wl6XUufMmYQ
the symbol in the background is called the serch bythol. it's a celtic symbol that represents everlasting love. (i'm not 100% sure if it's real, but multiple sources i found agreed on its design and meaning, and it's made from two triquetra knots, which are a real celtic symbol, so i'm sure enough to use it.) it usually represents love between two people, but here i wanted to use it to symbolise what i think is the key trait of asterix's solas anam - unconditional, everlasting love for others. that's what drives his loyalty, kindness, empathy and courage.
so yeah! also this is actually the first time i've drawn asterix in full colour, and i'm pretty happy with it. the flowing hair and the angle of the head gave me a lot of trouble and i had to redraw them like 3 times, but i think they came out alright. i'm also pretty proud of the lighting on this one :)

Mystic Symbols
From the motion-within-stillness of the endless knot, constructed on principles of cosmic geometry, to the stark simplicity of the cup or cauldron, the Celts wove a web of symbols which remind us that there is a deep and sometimes hidden meaning in the everyday. Whether you wear a triskele around your neck, recite stories to the music of the Harp or stand before a Celtic cross, you are on the…

An Coileach Ar Lasadh Corcairdhearg
The great war overseas was finished. The mercenary armies of the crimson bird was smashed by the legions of the crimson shroud. The phoenix was defeated by a bundle of sticks.
But, the bird returned, moving into Iberia, encroaching on the tribes that already lived there. The tribes of the bird of Ares. They came for their lands. They came for their silver. They came without woad or moustaches.
But the very trade routes that provided the silver and tin helped ferry them away. Ferry them away to a verdant land of mist and fey. They walked along beside the fey. They wrestled with the Fir Bolg. They watched giants build causeways to fight each other.
And the land was theirs.
