r/thehatguy aita for treating someone for being weird? i know how that title sounds but bear with me. i (M17) come from a predominantly rich family that is known internationally. when this person (GN17) came up to me, being all weird, acting like i know them. i was thinking that they were going to use me for connections / money / fame / etc. i didn't want that to slide obviously so i told them (dis)respectfully to fuck off. despite, my warning messages, they kept persistently to be friendly with me. in my personal opinion, i hate clingy people especially when we first met.

EDIT: I said I'd add more, and so I shall. I swear, the more I rewatch it, the more abserdity crosses my mind. I forgot some, so I'll add those when I remember them.

Rewatching the Mugen Train Arc, and there are a few things I noticed that I shall now share with you. I will add more as I think of them.

▪︎Rengoku's mom is hot

▪︎You will never be able to convince me we didn't see Akaza's O Face during that final attack.

▪︎Why didn't Akaza just drag Rengoku along with him to escape? All that oomf he has, and you're telling me one dude is too heavy? Nezuko can carry someone easily while in baby mode and was strong enough to curbstomp Daki, and you're telling me Akaza, Upper Three, the fourth most powerful demon in existence can't drag one guy along for the ride while bailing? I'm calling that shit hard.

▪︎Tanjirou's VA knocked this shit out of the park.

▪︎I call bullshit that Rengoku didn't activate his Demon Slayer Mark during all that.

¤ Edit: I now know why that didn't happen, so nevermind this one.

▪︎While we're on the topic of Rengoku, can I just briefly express my confusion as to his dream of choice when Enmu put him to sleep? Out of everything he could have dreamed, all the scenarios his mind could have conjured up, he chose "that one time I did something extraordinary and my dad didn't give a shit" followed by any given day of the week. Tanjirou got his family back, Zenitsu got to spend time with the girl he loved, Inosuke got to do whatever the fuck that was...and Rengoku's got an alcoholic father who doesn't give a hair on a witch's tit if his kids live or die, a mom that's still dead from illness, and last Tuesday, the Tuesday before that, and the Tuesday before that, also known as his everyday life. Why? He could have had a father that was a presentable human being again, a mother that wasn't dead or ill, a happy life...and he bypassed all of that. Just. Fucking. Why.

¤Edit: upon further thought and some amateur analysis of his psyche, the dream probably revolved more around time with his brother, or his boundless optimism making him think every day is a gift or worth celebrating or special somehow. Or maybe he just has a really bad imagination.

Fran hears weird muffled sounds behind the door she gets worried immediantly and goes downstairs to check if the person is okay but what she isn’t ready for is CC being pressed against the wall with her girlfriends hand between her thighs.

Fran felt tears build in her eyes, staring as CC comes down from her high by some girl who looks just like nanny fine, that girl took her CC and what isn’t easier is that the girl is smirking at fran too.

CC looks away in embarrassment from being caught fucking in the wine celluar with that girl jessica but what was stuck in frans mind was: why would she do that.

Jessica sighs loudly pressing a kiss onto CCs lips before turning to fran "We're kinda busy here, can you go?" frans eyes widen at the audacity for that girl to say that "Jessica!" CC hisses "Do not try and shoo my friend away."

Fran stares at CC with heartbroken eyes "Is that what we are?" her voice cracking in the end "Fran-" fran cuts CC off with an upset look in her eyes full of tears "No! CC, i thought we had something going on." jessica rolls her eyes "Well there isn’t." CC glares at her girlfriend? lover? fuck buddy? whatever! jessica sighs loudly "Im outta here, text me baby." she presses a kiss onto CCs cheek though CC wipes it away, scowling.

Looking over to fran "Fran.." CC reaches out to her but fran backs away, her eyes set on the floor "I thought-.." fran rubs her own arm as if trying to comfort herself though CC realizes that she does that to fran to calm her down, so maybe shes acting as if its CC comforting her not herself "I thought we had something?" CC gulped as she watched frans tears slide down her cheeks.

How did Kitty celebrate her graduation? I'm certain she celebrated it with her dad, but she also has Roger and Eddie, and even the Toon Patrol too. Did Kitty try to bring everyone together to celebrate? Or did she just have separate little events with each of her loved ones? (I'm betting the latter. I'm sorry Kitty, but I don't have faith in anybody being able to bring Roger and the weasels all in one group together XD)

Kitty passed her graduation with flying colours which impressed her teachers as she struggled at the beginning of her first year with anger, sadness and a disillusionment at the way her fellow animation peers saw Toons. She donned her cap (with some difficulty due to her hair) and recieved her degree from a prestigious animation director whom himself had graduated from the Hucklberry Institute. A Toon professor also turned up (he stood on books up at the podium because he's quite short.) She shook hands with both, had her photo snapped and smiled brighter than she ever has. Her father clapped the loudest of course and took lots of photos of his own but you're right in that others showed up to the graduation ceremony - Eddie and Dolores were in the front row! Everyone wanted to talk to Eddie, he was very well-known in his day after all but he was incredibly humble about it insisting today was about the graduates. He did shake a few hands at the reception though. At this point he was getting frailer and Dolores sometimes needed to help him walk as his knees would shake. Kitty thanked them both for coming as she came in and gave her father a big hug who whispered to her "You're mother would be so proud."

A couple of days later she recieved a phone call. There was static at first and then a lot of babbling.

"Hello?"

"...augagisi"

"...Huh?"

"...sigiisugu Am I through, Kitty is that you?"

"Roger! Is that you!"

"I heard ya passed everything and Jessica and I just wanted to send our congratulations!"

"Oh thanks so much it was...kinda overwhelming."

"Your Dad sent us the photos, you were lit up like a kid at Christmas! I really really hope this means we'll get to work together again!"

"Yeah me too! Hey are you ok the signal is a bit weird."

"Yeah I got one'a those fancy new celluar phones with the big antenna," aside "am I holdin' right Jessie?"

She probably gains the favour of other Toons she meets post-ceremony. Cartoons are always happy to meet new graduates!

(As for the Toon Patrol, I don't think they find out for a while after. They don't usually care what humans get up to and it's not like any of them have ever graduated anything. Smartass probably sends her a congratulatory basket with wine and her favourite candy.)

"My stream looks bad."

This is a pretty common issue that creators face and it all stems from one common misconception: 1080p doesn't mean quality.

The above video is in fact 1080p, but as you can see there's definitely something wrong about it. Here's that exact same freezeframe but at 480p:

So what's happening here? Bitrates.

A Crash Course Through Video Compression

Computer video has historically been a really hard problem to solve. Computers used to be slow (Like, really slow). Computer scientists (read: nerds) figured out that the human eye is bad and have developed techniques that abuse this fact.

Dithering tricks your eye into "seeing" more colors than are actually present. Here's a monotone (two colors!) that appears to also have shades of grey even though there aren't any:

Pretty cool, eh? By using clever placement of the black dots an entire range of grays emerge even though there aren't any.

You can even throw out little bits of detail to save space and the eye will be none the wiser. These are the core principles behind video compression.

Why do we even need to compress video anyways?

The short answer: internet speeds still aren't fast enough. The long answer: distribution costs.

If you are a video site, such as Twitch or YouTube, it is in your best interests to save as much money as possible for every live stream. So, every platform places limits on bitrate.

Okay, get to the point already. What is bitrate and how do I get my stream to look good?

Video compression usually has two modes: constant bitrate (CBR), and variable bitrate (VBR).

For regular video recordings it's usually recommended you use variable bitrate (note that CRF/CQ is a form of variable bitrate). This allows you to save space where you can but increase usage where it's necessary to help maintain visual quality.

But for live-streaming you use constant bitrate (the reason is due to how networks actually operate and how celluar/mobile networks handle streaming. It's complicated). With CBR, you tell the encoder that you want the result to always be at X bits per second regardless of the resulting quality (good or bad). So that means that during moments of low movement (in game, in an IRL setting, or even on your desktop) the encoder doesn't have to work nearly as hard to fit the current frame into the allotted rate. During high movement moments the encoder has to work extra hard to find those visual shortcuts — such as dithering, detail removal, or macroblocks (shudders) — to keep everything within bounds.

Obviously, removing detail will hurt the quality of an image. And doing that repeatedly will result in that reduced image quality you saw in the first 1080p screenshot. For that screenshot, I encoded the video at 500kbps, which is obviously way too low (I did that for for clickbait). For the 480p screenshot I encoded it using a VBR technique called Constant Quality. The size difference between those two files paints a better picture: the 480p version is 12x larger than the 1080p version despite 1080p having 8x as many pixels as 480p.

Alright, so what do you recommend I use?

Well factors like resolution, framerate, your internet, and your computer's hardware all play a role in determining what's best for you.

Here's a table bitrates for resolution and framerate.

Just note that your internet upload speed needs to be large enough for that bitrate AND whatever else you may use the internet for at the same time.
