✶ being the only biological daughter of the heinrich duchy as well as being the vice-commander of the empire’s order of chivalry was exhausting, even more so when the time-limited emperor decided to intrust his regal children’s well being to you. what aroused his sudden trust in your loyalty to follow his orders? it was beyond you, but you didn’t care.

✶ that was basically the gist of how you were betrothed to the young prince, 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐥, and left the military to enter the palace as the prince’s future spouse. even though this wasn’t the way you planned your future life to play out, you abandoned your dreams without much resistance. after all, you’ve gotten accustomed to abandoning your own pleasures for the sake of survival.

✶ 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 was perplexed by this engagement at first. how could his father just go ahead and betroth him to a woman he’s never met before? especially a woman who was rumored to be a savage barbarian on the battle field, the total opposite of what you’d expect from a noble lady. despite that, 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 didn’t dare to oppose this decision.

✶ the biological daughter of the heinrich duchy which has been an annoying headache to 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 on the path of becoming emperor, an esteemed war hero respected in the military - which he had no control in, and most likely an ignorant girl since she left for the battlefield ever since she was young. the emperor had basically just dropped the crown itself into his hands!

✶ 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 had never felt grateful towards his cold-hearted father before, but now he couldn’t thank the emperor enough! with the chess piece named “(y/n) heinrich” in his hands, the game was basically his to win! that is, until 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 finally met his infamous betrothed…

✶ unlike the rumored woman who had no manners and looked akin to the hideous monsters she slayed, the woman standing before him was graceful. she looked the embodiment of the word ‘dignified’ in a pale white dress that was cascaded down her noble body.

✶ her face was not that of a monster’s at all, it was far, far from it. her (e/c) eyes were fascinating to stare at as it reflected the gruesome experiences of war a noble lady shouldn’t have known of. her cheeks were lightly flushed due to the heat of summer, and her lips were pouted, a gentle shade of pink that made it seem even more enticing. her daunting but warm aura was especially attractive as she didn’t seem naive like he expected at all.

✶ how could such baseless rumors be told about this sophisticated woman? and how could 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟, someone as intelligent and calculating as himself, believe those filthy lies even for a moment.

✶ 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 had to force his eyes away from his fiancée to compose himself. placing a hand on top of his chest, he bowed, taking your smaller hands into his and pressing a chaste kiss to your knuckles. “it’s a pleasure to finally meet my fiancée, lady (y/n).” 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 flashed his charming smile, his grip tightening around your calloused hand thats experienced so much.

✶ you gaze at the man silently before retracting your hand, contemplating if you wanted to humiliate yourself by failing a curtsy, but decided for a hug in the end. looping your arms around him, you pulled the unsuspecting prince into a loose hug, causing the blonde to freeze up in your arms before he relaxed again. “i’m honored to be your fiancée, my prince.” 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 patted your back rather awkwardly in the hug, but nonetheless, he smiled at your warm voice.

✶ after finally moving in to the palace and spending your free time to observe the prince, you realized 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 was the total opposite of the cunning man with a bad temper that you’ve imagined. he treated you kindly and sincerely, always checking in on you to see how you’ve adjusted to the palace despite his busy schedule, and even inviting you for a story time over warm tea.

✶ and after a life filled with blood and tears, you found yourself enjoying the newfound peace you expected to be a burden, and began to unwind yourself around the prince. though, that didn’t mean you allowed yourself to completely bask in the prince’s kindness. after all, you were aware of which side your family stood on ( though you couldn’t care less ), and you could never forgot the duty the emperor entrusted to you.

✶ 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 was aware that you hadn’t completely let down your guard, but he didn’t mind. it would be fun to see you slowly adjust to his presence and eventually come seeking him out. after all, the longer you have to work for something, the more satisfying it was to finally clench it in your hand.

✶ perhaps it was due to his haughty ideals that clouded his vision, that’s why 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 didn’t realize when he became the exact lovesick puppy he imagined you to become, but the prince found himself constantly seeking to be closer. wether it be patting your shoulder, the habit of hugging you instead of a formal bow, and holding your hand while meeting with his father, 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 always found his hand lingering on the heat of your skin.

✶ not only did he want to become even closer to you, he desired to know more. what was your experience on the battlefield like? do you have any scars? how did you get that scar on your back? which kingdom did the soldier that engraved the scar on the flesh of your stomach hail from? what was your favorite color? favorite tea? favorite dessert? what type of dresses did you prefer? what kinds of perfume did you like?

✶ 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟’s simple curiosity slowly grew into vehement interest. and without fail, whatever your response to his question was, you would find it neatly wrapped and delivered to your chambers the following day. oh, you said you preferred a simple necklace instead to a golden one? it was delivered to you the next day, with the exception the stone was a rare diamond that wasn’t so plain. you liked flowy dresses instead of puffy ones? a rack of flowy dresses in various designs and color was in your closet the following day.

✶ the gifts became so consistent that you could no longer ignore after a whole week. did rezef plan to win you over by using gifts? did he think you were that naive? was that why he’s been visiting you almost everyday? why he suggested you to move closer to his chambers?

✶ oh, but you don’t have to worry so much! 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 simply liked the sight of you adorned in his gifts from head to toe, that’s all! and his frequent visits? he merely enjoys your pleasant company and intriguing stories! moving closer to his bedroom? he’ll become your husband and you’ll have to sleep in the same bed after all, shouldn’t things change sooner so you have the chance to adjust better?

✶ in the end, your bedroom was moved to the room right next to 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟, and the prince himself couldn’t be happier with this adjustment. he was sleeping in the room right next to you! perhaps it would be soon that you guys would share warmth under the same blanket.

✶ it didn’t take a genius to realize how affectionate rezef became towards you, and it definitely can’t be excused with merely being close to each other when the engagement was basically forced upon the two of you. 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟, the temperamental prince, had fallen head-over-heels for his betrothed, and you knew.

✶ his action was honestly adorable to you who never witnessed such amusing behavior at the battlefield. seeing 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 constantly crave for your touch and follow you around. oh, he’s gotten more protective? no one’s cared for you like that in the army, how sweet of him. what? he wants you to move into his bedroom? how could you reject when he stares at you with those eyes?

✶ you knew you shouldn’t be allowing this, because you were also becoming smitten by the handsome prince, but it shouldn’t cause anything bad, right? after all, your worries stemmed from the fact 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 might pit you against your own family, and you would be forced to chose him due to the engagement. but with this development, surely 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 wouldn’t risk the woman he loved? ah, that’s it! he just needed to love you! more and more. he needs to go crazy with desire for you, that way, he wouldn’t dare use you as a disposable pawn.

✶ with that decided, you allowed yourself to act more intimate towards 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟. tracing your calloused fingers on his jaw, ruffling his golden hair, pressing kisses to his knuckles, giving more frequent and longer hugs. you began to initiate all the physical contact, and 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 practically basked in this new affection. and, as the greedy man he is, 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 yearned for more. just hugs weren’t enough anymore, he wanted to really feel your body against his instead of the prints of your curves. he wanted your fingers to explore more of his body. chaste kisses weren’t enough, he wanted to corner your lips and taste them. the more he wanted to take, the more jealous he became even at the slightest things.

✶ he should be the one receiving all of your attention, so why did you always smile at the amateur knights guarding the palace? why didn’t you accompany him in his office longer? why didn’t you ask him to join you for a dual instead of those unworthy knights? he was your soon-to-be husband, so he’s the only man you should be paying attention to, yet these pests dare to bask in your kindness. were they so uneducated that they’d even go after what’s not their’s?

✶ his seething jealousy was especially apparent when 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 accompanied you as your escort for a banquet to celebrate the victorious of the military. and as the vice-commander of the order of chivalry, you were required to attend, and 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 had practically begged you to take him as your escort. sure, he knew you could overpower him with your strength, but he needed to keep an eye on the pests that would look your way. what if one of them looked upon you with lustful gazes? how dare some irrelevant bastard do that when even 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 didn’t dare think of you in that way?

✶ though that was his main goal for the night and 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 wasn’t one to get distracted, seeing you all dolled up with your makeup perfectly done, your hair styled neatly, and proudly wearing the midnight gown that was matching to his own suit, along with the extravagant sapphire necklace that was the same color of his eyes, 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 felt his heart burst out of his chest.

✶ “you look breathtaking,” 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 muttered as he pressed a kiss to your forehead, inhaling your scent the he could never get enough of. you smiled at the prince, touching his cheek with your gloved fingers and gently pinching his nose. truly, no one would blame you for being weak towards such an adorable man.

✶ once the door to the banquet hall opened and your name was announced, practically the whole room held their breath to ogle at the lady hailing from the heinrich duchy, notorious for becoming the only female knight in the entire continent. but just as they came to realize the rumors about her hideous appearance was mere lies, they felt the murdurous stare of the prince besides her.

✶ wait, since when were they so close that prince 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 would be escorting her? why was he holding her so protectively as if he would pounce on anyone who dared to even look at her in the wrong way? the sight of the couple was ironic, really. no one in the banquet hall could tell who was more dangerous between the two of them, even though the answer should’ve obviously been the breathtaking lady knight.

✶ true to his goal for the night, 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 made sure to remember the faces of anyone who dared look at you with animosity or lust. he particularly carved the appearances of noblemen who was courageous enough to ask you for a dance and blatantly ignore the way he was gripping onto your waist. those pests would be the first to die once he finally sits on the throne. would they be just as courageous with their arms and legs chopped off, he wondered?

✶ of course, you couldn’t allow 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 to continue glaring at the nobles so maliciously, so you had to calm the prince down somehow. and like usual, you would loop your arms around him, pulling him into your embrace. but the only difference this time was that many eyes were locked on the two of you. displaying your affection for him publicly like this was the equivalent of announcing to the whole world that the only daughter of the heinrich grand duchy will support the illegitimate prince! it was safe to say the nobles had been chucked into complete chaos the days after the banquet, especially the current head of heinrich.

✶ noblemen throughout the empire, wether they hail from small or grand backgrounds, gradually flocked to follow and make their decision to side with rezef. after all, they would be delusional to reject the fact an esteemed vice-commander decided to support the prince. and with their strengths alone, they could never compare to the military forces in the grasps of the prince’s fiancée. even the supporters of heinrich began to join rezef’s side in spite of the consequences. after all, the current head was a mere adopted son. and the true heir of the grand duchy was on the prince’s side. it was all thanks to you that 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 could gain so much support, and the prince couldn’t be more pleased with you.

✶ this made apparent the fact 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 couldn’t risk loosing you, because that would be the equivalent of loosing almost half of his growing support. though he never had any intentions of loosing you to anyone in the first place, and especially not that adopted son of heinrich, 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 began to attach himself to you by the hip.

✶ he constantly followed you around all day ( as if he wasn’t doing that before ), and monitored every action you took. from filling out military requests in the morning, practicing your swordsmanship, and quietly reading some books, 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 watched everything with half-lidded eyes. seeing you swing your sword so elegantly was especially alluring to the prince. how could you afford to look so gentle, yet swing your sword as if it was a feather? he’s never witnessed such graceful swordsmanship his entire life! he couldn’t help but admire his beautiful fiancée.

✶ and perhaps, after watching and yearning for you for so long, his patience finally began to thin. 𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐟 never found his mind wandering to dirty thoughts of a woman’s body despite it being natural for his age, because no one could attract his attention. but, you. oh, you.

-Although you stayed in the duchy and was recognised as another child that was able to inherit the title as "Duke/Duchess Kidrey", you were an illegitimate child. Your father kept and brought you into the family at 4 years old, being spoiled with many riches as the youngest and only daughter of the duke

-Raffaello met you by pure coincidence in the garden, you were hiding from your nanny so you could have atleast a single moment of silence and make a flower crown in peace

As the young black haired boy approached you with caution, you were done making your fifth flower crown, holding it before looking at the older boy.

She didn’t know it was you of course you didn’t know you were the reason to it too, After feeling better she thought about sending you a letter apologizing to you, And maybe inviting you for tea!,Wouldn’t that be nice?.

You accidentally met rezef when the princess was kidnapped, you took it as a chance and ran away, It was purely out of coincidence, Of course he knew who you were. You helped him as a kid, receiving your love and affection, it was a chance given to him, to finally take you from your brother, He can use this to take you, to warn your brother to stay away from his sister or your going to be found dead.

✤ So I generally head-canon him either being a super gentle, sweet and horny yandere or a super sadistic and horny yandere, no in between.

✤Also I Headcanons him falling for people, who can kill him easily, so once you do happen to be someone who scare the shit out of him easily.

✤When he first saw you, he didn’t like you as much and passed you of as somebody unimportant because well, you were only a noble and he was the next emperor-in-line.

✤So when he disrespected you, you somehow scared the shit out of you, which made him have an interest in you and he tried to find everything about you.

(he didn’t believe you at all). even princess cayena felt pitiful and tried to help you in some way, but her efforts were in vain when her ticking time bomb of a brother was always around with that predatory stare.

✧ in the end, everything played out like some twisted game of fate. you were destined to be by rezef’s side, and he’d tug on your chains even from the scathing depths of hell.
