Vi probably learned what's shakin, bacon from some kid at the tutoring center and it was burned into her brain lol

Caitlyn is a rlly heavy sleeper. Like, she gets up early, but for most her sleep before then, Vi can pretty much do whatever she wants in her room without waking Caitlyn up

Neither Vi nor Caitlyn eat bacon lol. Caitlyn is like, an avocado and eggs toast girlie, and Vi prefers sausage (i have no way to prove this)

Caitlyn has been flirting with Vi probably since the moment they've met and Vi has just been too distracted with all her family bullshit to notice until this chapter lmfao. She doesn't have a lot of female friends besides Caitlyn so she's like ? I thought this is just how girls talk to each other.

That isn't to say that she doesn't know she and Caitlyn have something going on, she just hasn't fucking been clocking Cait's flirting until now and hasn't reciprocated in a while

Caitlyn continues to be excited about doing chores for the time she and Vi live in the apartment, but eventually their split gets more even because Vi doesn't like to sit idly and watch Caitlyn do it. She likes to be helpful, so Caitlyn lets her

Powder tried to come out to Vi one time and Vi is like ???? Yeah no shit you have blue hair and pronouns in your bio???? and Powder slaps her

Powder and Vi and Vander (and sometimes Mylo and Clagger) have dinner together at least once a week, and during that time sometimes Cait will visit her parents

Powder invites Lux over whenever Vander is out with Benzo because uh. She's in high school and gay. What do you expect

This is uh. Kind of just a projection of my own experiences, but I think that despite Caitlyn always telling Vi that things weren't her fault, it's really only Powder who has the power to make Vi believe that. Vi feels guilty about what she's done to Powder specifically, even if she didn't actually do anything. Also, Caitlyn wasn't there, so Vi uses this as an excuse to not really listen to her

That, or Powder is the most capable of convincing Vi

At this stage of CaitVi's relationship, they sleep in the same bed almost every night, but they don't cuddle or anything like that. That's more of an officially dating kind of activity. Hehe. More to come

Vi and Caitlyn eventually start waking up together at like 7 am instead of 6 am every morning, and Vi gets up way later on the weekends. It's a compromise

The saber would feel a bit better, his hands were warm. That warmth was replaced with a cold towel before long however. "Don't worry, I'm here for you."

She's not usually keen on reminding anyone she's sick - that her body was cursed to run into a cycle of illness she could never escape from. Okita doesn't know what compels her to seek help that isn't necessary; that she could well survive without.

...well, that's not entirely true, is it? She wouldn't have sought just anyone out. She'd specifically asked him. Through nervous words and fiddling, anxious hands. It's a rare display of emotion: a childish fear of rejection.

It's soon quelled, however, as she takes his hand; soon nothing more than a thought gone in the wind.

There's so much comfort in this level of familiarity. She finds no embarrassment but a small level of hesitation before she steps into his room. It feels as though his presence surrounds her here. For once, she gladly rests when she is told to lay down. She does not fight her growing exhaustion.

The warm hand she feels on her forehead is enough to help the shivers running through her body calm. It's not a cure, of course, but it's leagues better than what she's forced herself to endure by herself for so long.

How much better it feels to be with him right now instead of groveling in her own misery - it doesn't even come close. Even if she feels awful, she can't help but smile.

"Thank you, ma-" she stops herself from committing an odd slip of the tongue "Daniel. It's not half as bad when you're around."

She feels at peace here with him. Safe.
