#catch me spending my life pointing spotlights on them so everyone knows how smart and cool and creative they are
Note
Hello. I want to say that I really like your writing.
Even though I read the rules, I don't know if my request follow them since it's my first time doing something like that. So if you don't want to write my request it's fine. And if you want to write it then take your time, it's not that important.
Anyways, can you write Louis x male reader with a reader who's the Holmes version of Louis as he's the youngest Holmes who's overshadowed by his big brothers but doesn't mind it. However, contrary to Louis, the reader is that excited kid who loves to prank Sherlock and Mycroft and tell embarrassing stories about them.
Bonus point if no one (except probably Ms. Hudson and/or Moneypenny) knew about their relationship until Louis with an anormally quiet and blushing reader announce proudly they're going to get married.
Sorry for my bad writing, english isn't my first language.
Also thank you for reading this.
Hello. Welcome to my blog.
ty for your compliment,im happy to hear it.
You're request follows my rules perfectly fine, and ty for taking ur time to write such detailed request. I'll be happy to do it. Is that so?then that makes two of us since eng isnt my first language as well. But your eng is pretty good if u ask me.
enjoy,Love,Luna
✧*.。*♡✧*.。*♡✧*.。*♡✧*.。*♡✧*.。*♡✧*.。*♡
Loving you is a secret, that I'll hold dearly in my heart forever :
Warnings : contains a small amount of spoilers for the manga
"Holmes sama!Holmes sama! congratulations on solving yet another case!"
"Holmes sama! congratulations on your new rank in the government!"
"the two eldest Holmes brothers sure are something!one has one of the highest ranks in the UK government, one is a great detective!all except..."
"aiya...the third son am i right?he is a good kid... although...not as bright as his brothers."
"yeah...he hasnt shown any interest in the things his brothers follow. He's only going to bring their family's name down if he doesnt get his act together."
"Hush now. The young master is coming this way."
Ever since you could remember, those whispers were always following you.
No matter what you'd do,there were whispers behind your back. Of how talentless you were,of you weren't trying hard enough...
but no one knew the truth;the fact that you were one of the most brilliant boys in Holmes' household, who was overshadowed by your older brothers. The fact made your younger self break down, but as you grew older, you realized that in fact, you didnt mind it.
not everyone wanted to be in the spotlight after all.
You loved your brothers. Sherlock was always your partner in crimes while doing pranks on Mycroft, and sometimes you would've coaxed Mycroft into playing a prank on sherlock.
You were a complete opposite of your brothers. While Mycroft was a serious and quiet guy,you were cheerful and full of life. You lacked Sherlock's laziness,as you tend to do alot of stuff altogether. But you shared their interest in books, thats why you rathered to spend your free times in the bookstores or library.
and thats how you met Louis.
Meeting Louis was a complete miracle, something you always lacked in your life. The fact that Louis had decided to choose the exact same bookstore,to catch sight of the last book he was looking for,and aim for it the exact same time you did,was something out of your usual luck.
Louis, being his usual polite self had offered for you to take the book, while you refused to let yourself get the book. So you suggested the best way possible;sharing the book and reading it together.
"that way,we can even talk about it together!!!isnt that better than reading it alone?"
Louis had looked into your eyes, and nodded with a small smile.
Your first kiss had been in the silence of the library.
And from that day on,the secret of your relationship laid in the silence as well.
Louis was a brilliant man;he was smart and talented,but...as ironic as it might've been,he was overshadowed by his brothers' as well
Needless to say that you both understood each other better than anyone, and that may be one of the mamy reasons why your relationship worked so well and for so many years in secret.
Miss Hudson had been the only who ever took notice.
He told you it was because you had become livelier, your smiles more real and you seemed brighter than usual.
you didnt disagree with her.
It seemed like all the important things in your life happened in the quiet of the bookstores or the library.
After William's return,Louis looked like as though a heavy burden had been lifted from his shoulders. Those three years had been the hardest. Louis was strong, going forward and acting like his brothers' absence didnt affect him,but at nights, and in the silence of your room,Louis used to break in your arms.
And it was in the library that Louis brought up the big question the day before the big dinner at the Moriarty mansion.
"want to get married?"
You'd burst into tears right there and then; hugging Louis tightly while stuttering your answer between your sobs.
Louis had laugh, and after a kiss to your tear soaked lips, had asked you to come to the dinner tomorrow to break the big news to both families.
Thats how you ended up here; sitting at the dinner table next to your fiance, clenching his hand tightly under the table. One look at both your flushed faces and Miss.Hudson along with Moneypenny had them both to hide their knowing smiles behind their sleeves.
"may i have everyone's attention please?"
Louis Rises from his seat, giving one last squeeze to your hand before taking his own glass and straighting his posture.
"y/n and i have some important news to share with everyone." At the mention of your name, both your brothers look your way, "we have decided to get married. And we would like everyone in this room to attend our wedding."
There's a heavy silent, before Albert grins and raises his glass of wine, Sebastian following,as Sherlock and Mycroft stare at you two with twin blank expression.
"excuse me," Sherlock clears his throat, and taked a sip from his glass "to your what?!?!"
seemed like you had some explaining to do.

Liberated Audio Reviews
Introduction:
The cult Sci-Fi series Blake's 7 has seen great admiration and appreciation in the 40 plus years since its initial broadcast in the UK., continuing to enthrall audience old and new alike. Despite its rather low budget, it possessed some pretty impressive writing and acting from its rotating cast of characters. Despite it being yet another Terry Nation brainchild, the series would evolve beyond the initial proposal/concept of 'Robin Hood in Space' under the direction of Chris Boucher to become something more than just a Star Wars clone.
Over the years, the show's devoted fanbase have poured over the show's 52 episodes and have long clamored, demanded, begged and pleaded with the Powers That Be for some sort of continuation or revival... In spite of the show's rather unorthodox and controversial ending.
After numerous rumors and false starts, which even included a full on audio reboot/reimagining by B7 Media back in late 2007/early 2008, it would be Big Finish Productions that would take up the daunting task of reviving and expanding the Blake's 7 universe starting in February 2012 with the Liberator Chronicles and the Classic Audio Adventures in January 2014.
The Liberator Chronicles are essentially enhanced audiobooks often told in the first person by whichever character is chosen to be the focus of the story. Often they are supported by one or two other cast members in order to help keep things from falling completely into standard audiobook monotony. Before tackling the full cast audios, I shall endeavor to present my thoughts and views on all twelve volumes of the Liberator Chronicles.
Please bear in mind that these reviews are based on my own opinions and no one else's. While I shall endeavor to be as fair as possible, I am not claiming that my opinion is the only one that matters and you are free to agree or disagree with me as you see fit. Just try to keep it civil. So, without further ado, let's get started by examining volume one.
Blake's 7 - The Liberator Chronicles Vol. 1
RELEASED FEBRUARY 2012
Recorded on: 23 September, 11 and 14 October 2011
Recorded at: Moat Studios

The Turing Test by Simon Guerrier
'After evading an attack by Cassini Pirates, the Liberator heads to the rogue moon of Quentil, where Avon and Vila infiltrate a top secret Federation science facility.
Vila assumes the guise of Dr. Yarding Gill, an expert in digital memory. And Avon is his "creation" - a super-advanced android that could pass for human. In fact, he does...
Can they maintain the ruse long enough to complete their mission? And will the Cassini Pirates catch up with them?'
Chronological Placement:
Series A - set after the events of LC Vol. 7's Disorder, between episodes Mission To Destiny and Duel.
This is a very well written story starring the late Paul Darrow as Kerr Avon, ably supported by Michael Keating as Vila Restal.
I love how the story is structured with Avon recounting these events AFTER the fact, like he was recording then for posterity into a dictaphone. I loved that Guerrier's writing didn't fall into the trap of having Avon try to do other voices or say 'said Blake', 'said Jenna' and so on. Nothing felt disruptive to the narrative and having Vila around never felt intrusive.
Kudos to Michael Keating for slipping back into the role of Vila Restal with relative ease. He will be quite reliable in a support capacity during many of these audios, and even get a chance at the spotlight... Which we will examine in due course. Right now, he lends his exceptional charm in this undercover mission posing as the scientist responsible for "creating" Avon.
Still, this story belongs to Paul Darrow, and he does a great job. It was a great story about what it means to be alive, what it means to be human and even serving as an examination of Avon himself. It was a nice inverse of the usual sort of questions regarding machine life wishing to be more human. Here we have a human considering himself to be more machine than man.
That is the interesting thing about Avon. Most scifi programs that deal with space travel tend to have an archetypical character known as the 'royal smart person'. For Star Trek TOS it was Spock, for Star Trek TNG it was Data, for DS9 it was Dax (and to a certain extent Bashir), for Voyager it was Seven of Nine, for Enterprise it was... Who the hell knows since everyone on that show was an idiot. As for Discovery... I honestly don't know cuz I haven't watched Discovery yet, but that's beside the point.
Avon is exceptional in his characterization only in that his desire to focus on pure logic and suppress his emotions does not come without its own drawbacks. Despite his intellect and skill with computers, he is someone that is also socially and emotionally cut off from others due to an inability to trust. He is also someone that sees the futility in giving over to emotional and irrational hysterics in order to showcase that he cares. Avon's intelligence also comes with a certain amount of ego, as he knows that he is smarter than many of his contemporaries, and much of the logic he embraces stems from a certain degree of self-serving self-interest.
His desire to assist in the situation with the AI android 14 stems from having an affinity with another creature of pure logic, and not wanting such a creature to be exploited and corrupted to further the aims and agendas of the Federation. This story is a great reminder of why Avon is a great antihero, as he is still willing to do the right thing in spite of himself.
Final Score: 8 out of 10 Plasma Bolts
Solitary by Nigel Fairs
‘Vila is in solitary confinement. His friends have abandoned him, his only contact with the world outside is Nyrron, a scientist from the planet Auron.
Amnesiac and confused, Vila attempts to piece together recent events... A mission to Dulcimer 4. An important meeting. And a visit to the jungle world of Terrulis Major.
In the depths of the foliage, the truth is waiting. And it's more terrifying than Vila could possible have imagined...’
Chronological Placement:
Series B - between episodes Redemption and Shadow.
I really do not have much to say about this story as it is profoundly unremarkable and is a major clunker in terms of execution of its concept, as well as the first person narration.
It has some interesting ideas, there is a central mystery that is interesting, with Vila finding himself in solitary confinement and abandoned by his friends, and we are introduced to a semi recurring guest character in the form of Auron scientist Gustav Nyrron, played by Anthony Howell ('Dr. David Keel' of the The Avengers: Lost Episodes range).
Nyrron himself is an interesting character as an ally for Blake and the Resistance, which begs the question why Cally wasn’t involved in this story as well.  Because for an Auron scientist, he actually spends most of the time acting like either a reasonable interrogator or a benevolent psychiatrist for the imprisoned Vila.
The whole story itself is not executed terribly well.  The Vila character spends a good chunk of the first few moments talking to himself, and then when Nyrron comes into the narrative, Vila spends the rest of the runtime being asked if he remembers certain events, and then goes on to basically recount events that lead up to meeting Nyrron and then goes on to tell Nyrron things that he already knows about.
As a Vila centric story, its also not terribly good, not even with certain unexpected revelations made. This story does Vila no favors and we don't learn much about Nyrron either.  Fortunately, those are issues that would end up being rectified in later stories.  Definitely give this one a miss.
Final Score: 4 out of 10 Plasma Bolts
Counterfeit by Peter Anghelides
‘The Bovee Mining Facility: A Federation slave camp worked by disgraced scientists.
The planet shouldn't be of interest but it is: Avon's investigations reveal that it's rich in Illusium, a mineral that can change from one substance to another. With it, the Federation could be invulnerable...
Blake teleports down to Bovee, but gets more than he bargained for. There's another visitor to the facility - and his presence changes the whole game...’
Chronological Placement:
Series A - set after the events of LC Vol. 1's The Turing Test, between episodes Mission To Destiny and Duel.
This is not a bad Blake focus story, with added support from Avon. However, what we get is a pretty standard adventure with Blake hoping to obtain certain materials and destroy the means of that material being reproduced in another effort to cripple the Federation's power. We even get in an appearance by Travis, Blake's personal nemesis, to lure him into a trap.
There isn't a whole lot to say about the story because of how standard and basic it all is. The fact that the story is done on audio does play in well into certain revelations and surprise twists made within the narrative. Many of which I will not speak on as it goes into spoiler territory. Other than that, the story itself is not bad, it is definitely worth a once-over. Its just unfortunate that it is also pretty average and fairly unremarkable.
Final Score: 5 out of 10 Plasma Bolts
Final score for Volume One of The Liberator Chronicles in its entirety is 6 out of 10 Plasma Bolts.
It isn't the best start to the Blake's 7 audio range as it really only has one story out of three to recommend it. Its great to hear the original actors back again, and thankfully they will be served better stories in the volumes to follow.
Special thanks to Craig Brawley of the Big Finish Listeners Facebook Group for his tireless efforts in mapping out the chronology of the audios and determining how they fit in with the established TV continuity.

INTRODUCING EMMA.
ok don’t @ me but i absolutely CANNOT find my old bio.....rip in fckin peace. so i’m gonna do my best to recreate the basic bullet points below the cut & i’m so sorry if this makes absolutely no sense at all!!
Tumblr media
NAME: emma vanity OCCUPATION: actress AGE: twenty-four PRONOUNS: she/her AFFILIATION: death eaters
emma vanity has only been her name since she introduced herself to orion black for the first time, ~5 years ago. before that, she was called goldie schmulewicz.
goldie spent the early part of her life being raised by her grandparents in a jewish village in poland--- then part of the russian empire. her mother had been an embarrassment to the family, forsaking her upbringing to run away with her lover and live as an artist. they were quite poor, so when she became pregnant she had no choice but to ask her parents for help. she showed up at their doorstep two years after leaving to drop the newborn into their arms, and  neither they nor goldie ever saw her again after that.
her grandparents were stern and traditional, but loving. the rest of their neighbors didn’t embrace goldie as warmly --- her mother’s disgrace was well-known, and even if it wasn’t, the color of her skin still marked her ‘different’ from everyone else in her town. she started to figure out from an early age that if people were going to stare at her no matter what, she might as well give them a damn show.
became literally obsessed with the idea of becoming an actress, encouraged by her grandparents --- not because they thought she’d ever follow through on it, but just because they liked seeing her happy. they probably wouldn’t have let her carry on if they’d known the ambition would continue into her adult life.
when she was still a kid, her grandparents made the decision to migrate to america. russia seethed with discontent as the beginnings of revolution brewed, and antisemitic notions and attacks continued to rise. if they wanted to ensure a real future for goldie, there was no reason for them to stay.
they moved into a tenement house on manhattan’s lower east side that was shared with three other families, and contained a single bed for goldie and both of her grandparents. it was cramped and loud, and they quickly discovered that in america, they were quite poor. goldie missed home, but still, there was so much more to do in new york. the cinema became her new favorite place (the first crime she ever committed was sneaking in unnoticed every week without buying a ticket), and she’d spend her time at home trying to mimic the glamorous looks of the women she saw on screen. goldie figured that was what someone important looked like. someone who commanded attention and had the whole world at her beck and call. that was what she wanted someday.
when she was in her early teens, a wave of influenza swept through the neighborhood, and her grandparents were killed. goldie, also deathly sick, tried to get to a hospital, but they were filled to capacity and after taking one look at her--- a filthy, unaccompanied kid who barely spoke english--- shut the doors in her face. she almost died on the street, shivering and feverish; and would have, if peter hadn’t found her.
the years that followed were the hardest of her life, but they were also when she learned how to survive. she had to be quick and smart to make it on the streets, and there was a definite learning curve.
after a while, goldie figured out that she had a knack for picking pockets. when she was still small, she could approach unnoticed, but this became difficult after a while. her looks made it likely that there was always at least one pair of eyes on her, so she had to adopt a different method. she would pick a male target and purposely catch his attention, drawing him close enough in conversation that he was mesmerized enough not to notice her sliding away his wallet or watch. it worked quite well for her, until she day she tried it on orion black.
she was nineteen when she met orion, striking a deal when she’d been expecting to be turned into the police. instead, she found herself faced with everything she’d ever dreamed of. how could she say no?
so, goldie schmulewicz was left behind on the street and emma vanity stepped into the spotlight.
it’s felt less like a transformation and more like a fulfillment of what emma knew already existed inside her. if she’d been born into different circumstances, she figures she wouldn’t have ever needed the help from orion, but she can’t let herself dwell on that --- instead, she focuses on the fact that everything she achieved after that was her own.
honestly, emma couldn’t care less about bad blood between gangs. she’s only there to play her part, because she has to. even with orion gone, she knows everything she’s achieved could be taken away if she ever tried to leave the death eaters behind, so she does what is necessary and no more. it’s all business to her, so she’s got nothing against the prewetts or any of them.
she doesn’t care if the death eaters are threatened, only if her career and/or reputation are. those things are just unfortunately linked now.
emma doesn’t have a lot of experience in caring about anyone besides herself, and she doesn’t intend to. narcissa is an unfortunate wrench in that policy; but aside from that exception, she views people as disposable, even the ones she likes (rip peter). she’s good at charming others and making friends, but don’t be fooled into thinking she’ll put anyone else first.

The Hallmark Movie Musical: A Parody
At last, as I promised, here is my pitch for the ultimate homage & critique of the corporate tradition that is the Hallmark Channel’s annual Christmas movies.
I’m sure your first question is, why a musical? For one, this story is way too complicated for a 90-minute movie. For two, I like musicals, shut up. For three, I feel like the upcoming meta stuff works best in a live format. But mainly, the idea is that this project is being billed as “the culmination of the Hallmark holiday movie tradition”, an idea we’ll get back to later.
The Plot
The play starts with a big old “It’s holiday season in the city” number, centered on our Protagonist, a white (probably blond) woman who I’ve taken to calling Karen. The song quickly introduces us to her current occupation and general goals, as well as our Main Man, who for now I’m calling Chad. As it winds down, we meet Karen’s Best Friend, Sandra (derived from Cassandra), a very smart and observant woman who’s always there to support Karen in her endeavors (even at her own expense) and offer her relationship advice.
Plot twist #1, Sandra is the musical’s actual protagonist. See, she starts to catch on pretty quickly that she’s living in a cheesy, generic, soulless Christmas movie, the kind she’s always derided even as Karen appreciated them. As you can imagine, she doesn’t take the revelation well. For one, she knows that Karen would never want to rush into a relationship, and yet, as the Protagonist of this story, she’d bound to end up soulmates with Chad within the next week or two. So Sandra does everything she can to try and convince Karen of the truth of their reality, or otherwise derail the plot, going so far as to seek help from Chad’s ex-girlfriend, who we’ll refer to as... uh, Vicky, I guess.
In my mind, this makes up most of Act 1, with plenty of opportunities for Sandra to deconstruct tropes along the way. However, during this, Sandra also starts to kind of appreciate the cheesy wholesomeness of her situation. Maybe her life was kinda sh*tty before this started, and now the sh*tiness has entirely faded into the background. So when Karen reveals in a song that she’s figured it out, but that she’s accepted it, because it means her relationship will be perfect for her and she’s guaranteed to be happy for the rest of her life... Sandra can see where she’s coming from.
But Sandra doesn’t trust that this will all work out perfectly. Who’s to say happily ever after will continue after the “movie” ends? And what about everyone else, the “side characters” in this story? Will their lives just stagnate once their role in Karen’s arc is over? Surely Karen can see it isn’t fair that she gets to be the center of the universe, right?
And that’s where plot twist #2 - or rather #3 - comes in. Remember how I said that this project is billed, even in the opening number itself, as “the culmination of the Hallmark holiday movie tradition”? Well, as formulaic as these movies are, you can’t fit every single cliche into one movie. And so Act 1 ends with Sandra’s attempts to sabotage the plot essentially causing an emergency system reset. The closing number of the act has some characters excited that it will soon be “their turn”.
We find out what the heck that means in Act 2, where the characters’ roles have been switched around. Vicky is now the Protagonist. She has a small group of friends instead of just one Best Friend. One of those friends is another former protagonist, maybe one of them was Karen’s ex in the previous timeline...
And the other friend is Sandra. Functionally, her role has hardly changed, unlike everyone else. Her mission from the start of the act (once she figures out what’s up) is to search for Karen, but she also can’t help but wonder why she’s stuck in the same position.
We find out part of the reason why in plot twist #4, which would have been pretty heavily foreshadowed up to this point. Like, maybe Karen made a joke about how weirdly good Sandra is at helping her with relationships when, as far as she knows, Sandra’s never been in a serious one. She’s certainly never seemed that interested in boys. Or maybe at one point, Sandra made an offhand comment to Karen about how all her previous relationships with guys have ended poorly, has she ever considered dating outside that pool? Karen’s just like no, Sandra shrugs, and the conversation moves on.
Yes, Sandra’s a lesbian. That’s why she’s never gotten to be the lead (though apparently, the company is looking to start producing movies with LGBTQ+ characters? So maybe we’d frame it like “well maybe you could have been now if you hadn't also ruined things last time?” Depends.) I’m not sure whether it would be best to have her be crushing on Karen during the events of the play; it almost seems too obvious, and I don’t want Sandra’s motivations for trying to free their reality from the Hallmark movie constraints to be superseded by her just wanting to date her friend. But I think it would be nice to have Sandra get with someone by the play’s end, and not just a rando.
Sandra (and maybe the other members of the friend group) sing a song about how not conforming to society’s mold of the “average”, “normal” person has made them feel alienated, how they don’t get these kinds of fairytale endings, even in fiction. From there, she and the gang of not-quite-lead-material formulate a plan to change the plot. I haven’t thought out the details of all this yet, but long story short...
It goes wrong. Really wrong. When it looks like the story is going to reset again, the characters give their all to stop it, but that just causes the world itself to collapse. We’re left with just Sandra, and maybe Vicky, on stage.
Then Karen reappears. She reveals the reason she was absent from the last retelling of the story was that she essentially gave up her role so that Sandra wouldn’t be punished for going against the script. Of course, that’s now become voided by Sandra’s actions, and Karen’s upset about it. She and Vicky guilt Sandra over having ruined things for everyone.
Here’s where things get tricky. I laid out what I want the message of the musical to be in a post yesterday, but figuring out how to implement it in the play itself has been puzzling me. I think I’ll save going over that for its own section. In the meantime, I can really only imagine one of two endings for the musical:
A. The characters reboot the musical themselves, bringing in the side characters and giving them equal creative control, so they can create stories for everyone.
B. The characters escape the restrictions of their reality, entering back into the “real world”. Maybe add an epilogue-type scene where we see Sandra has gotten into the movie-making business, where she makes fun, lighthearted movies featuring diverse casts.
The Characters
This section is for elaborating on aspects of Sandra and Karen’s characterization and development that would have slowed down the flow of the plot summary.
Sandra
As previously mentioned, Sandra is basically your stereotypical Ravenclaw, witty almost to the point of pretentiousness. She’s meant to be the surrogate for all the people who think the Hallmark movies are nothing more than soulless, indistinguishable, products, the person who would only watch these movies to roast them.
That being said, she also has a lot of Hufflepuff qualities. She’s hardworking and supremely loyal to her friends, always looking for ways to help them with their relationships and their careers, even at her own expense. Spending time helping Karen with projects instead of studying for her own exams, giving up opportunities so her friends have a shot at them, etc.
As a result, Sandra has learned to roll with the punches and make the most of the worst situations, to the point where she gets enjoyment and pride out of it. She’s always looking for new opportunities but has the patience and forethought to think them through before jumping on them. As long as she can make life easier for her friends and give them more options, she can handle any personal repercussions. They find ways to pay her back eventually, but she really doesn’t need it... at least, that’s what she tells herself.
This is part of why she’s ticked off at the reveal that Karen is happy to be the Protagonist of a Hallmark movie. The idea that you’d want to give up your agency entirely to follow a set script so that you don’t have to try anymore; Sandra can’t imagine ever taking that opportunity, even after warming up to the idea of Hallmark movies as a fun thing to watch. And it’s not like Karen’s life was that difficult before, in comparison to her’s at least. Can she really not handle it, even with everything Sandra sacrifices for her best friend? How can she be happy, while being explicitly complicit in her friends getting sidelined?
As the musical goes on, Sandra acknowledges her desire to be in the spotlight more of the time and becomes more of a self-advocate, taking a leadership role in Act 2′s friend gang and factoring her own wants more into making decisions (like when she abandons the story to search for Karen). With the realization that part of the reason she can’t be in the spotlight within the constraints of her reality is something innate about her that can’t be changed, her ire towards the system becomes more focused and less petty, which is what convinces the other members of the friend group to take a risk in trying to change the story.
Again, I’ll save the ending for another section. In short, Sandra’s arc goes like this:
Starts out hating Hallmark movies, and always willing to concede to her friends
As soon as she realizes what her life has become, she fights against it in petty ways
Starts gaining an appreciation for Hallmark movies as a form of fun escapism, but still can’t imagine it being her whole life
Post reset, she becomes more of a self-advocate
After plot twist #4, she directs ire back towards the Hallmark-ness of her world, but this time because of how it excludes people from its fantasy
Works with the friend gang to change the direction of the story to try and make their world more just (but maybe she gets a bit dictatorial herself? The classic “protagonist goes too far” thing?)
After things go wrong, she admits that she was initially kind of an ass to Karen and that her initial actions were not committed with the best intentions, but she still stands up for her actions in Act 2 (or most of them, depending on how much of an ass she was to the friend gang)
By the end, she’s learned to appreciate cheesy movies, but more importantly, to self-advocate; she’s still committed to helping her friends, but now she’s also looking at how to do so on a systemic level
Others
Karen is your typical Hallmark movie protagonist: a white, middle class, cis woman who loves Christmas and Christmas movies. As I briefly touched on earlier, she’s benefitted from a lot of privilege, and the support of her large pool of family and friends. She doesn’t have any long-term aspirations, partly because she tends to stress out over the littlest things.
That being said, she’s definitely had hardship in terms of love; she tends to get invested in relationships super quickly, and so when she realizes the guy she’s dating isn’t right for her, things get messy. She’s spent years looking for the perfect man, and when she first meets Chad, she would never have considered him an option. At least on a conscious level. But after their first meeting went poorly, she finds him growing on her quickly... too quickly.
It doesn’t take much of Sandra’s meddling for Karen to figure out what’s up. At first, she isn’t sure how to feel about it. But she comes to see that being in a Hallmark movie, for her, basically means she’s living a slightly-improved, practically stress-free version of her life, where she’s guaranteed her soulmate. Even if she found a way to give it up, why would she ever want to? Sandra seems to be the only person who’s upset over it, and she is her best friend... but if they really are best friends, then surely Sandra will learn to just accept it and be happy for her, right? It’s not like this will make Sandra’s life actively worse, and she’ll always been willing to take a step back so Karen could succeed. Why would this time be any different?
As you might be able to discern from all that, Karen’s arc is learning not to take her friends for granted and to not see herself as the center of the universe. That being said, she also has to learn a form of self-advocacy, to become more willing to take risks on her deeper desires rather than just settling for “good enough”. Some of this growth happens while she’s absent during Act 2 (maybe there could be a small scene where we see just her, observing the story as it unfolds and giving some commentary?) and the rest happens after the friend gang’s failure.
I honestly haven’t thought much at all about what Chad is like, other than the same obvious basic factors, so we’ll just move past him. Vicky is similar to Karen on a basic level, hence why she gets to become Protagonist in Act 2, except that she’s the Protagonist stereotype who’s all business and thinks Christmas cheer is *gasp* overrated.
I’m not sure yet where Vicky should be on the hero-villain spectrum. Does she sympathize with Sandra from the start, but temporarily become somewhat power-hungry when she gets to be Protagonist? Or was she always just waiting for it to be her turn again? Is she tired of the cycle, or is she glad to benefit from it? Who even is her love interest in Act 2? And then there are all the members of the friend group to consider... I think I’ll just cut myself off here, this is already way too long.
The Message
I told you we’d get back to this. Gonna start by copy-pasting what I put in yesterday’s post:
There’s definitely a place for lighthearted, straightforward stories that end in a happily ever after. BUT it would be cool if, without changing that, they A. didn’t churn out 30+ of the things a year, instead putting that extra time & effort into making each individual film stand out a little more, and B. weren’t almost always about the same white, middle class, cishet women, even if those people are currently the main demographic.
Or to put it another way, “These movies are fun, but they could be more interesting and meaningful if not for capitalism.”
...The question becomes, how do we get across all this nuance in this hypothetical show? For one, there’d probably need to be some critique of the capitalist ideas that lead to these problems with the movies woven throughout the plot. How much of our criticism should be focused on the flaws of the Hallmark Channel brand in particular, and how much should be more generalized?
And then we get back to the climax. Karen is angry at Sandra for letting her hatred of Hallmark movies ruin things for everyone else, and Vicky is angry at Sandra for wanting to make the story all about her. Sandra’s response to them is going to have to convey her development, how she has grown to appreciate those kinds of cheesy predictable stories... but she’s still critical of how they’re mass-produced to appeal to a specific demographic and aren’t that inclusive. A part of her would like to be the hero of one of these movies, just once, but she’s far from the only person left out by these stories.
Where do we go from there? You’d probably have to address the “why not make your own story instead of taking over ours” argument, and... you see, it’s difficult to be nuanced and entertaining.
Of course, this is just my first or second draft of how to put together a story based on these ideas. If I ever actually made this a thing, the final plot would probably be structured very differently. For one thing, I’d need to watch a lot more Hallmark movies. In the hour of research that I did yesterday, recorded in this document (which y’all are free to comment on and add suggestions to), I discovered a podcast that discusses several individual Hallmark movies that I might just have to binge over the upcoming winter break. So that’s where we’re at now. I hope somebody enjoyed reading my ramblings about a project that will never come to be.

Classpect Analysis: Page of Light
Active or Passive: Passive
What they do: Pages passively utilize their aspect/utilize through their aspect, and often use it to protect. Light is the aspect of information/knowledge, analysis, perception/awareness, fortune/luck, illumination (both literally and metaphorically), meaning/truth/clarity, and attention/the “spotlight.”
Active equivalent: Knight of Light
Inverse: Thief of Void
The Page of Light starts out with pretty much none of their aspect as well as a pretty poor grasp of understanding and utilizing it. Light represents, among other things, information and knowledge. Keep in mind that this does not necessarily mean they are unintelligent! What this means is that this Page may not have a lot of truth in their life. They might be innocent rather than being considered ‘dumb;’ instead, they’re kind of the clueless friend, though they like to think otherwise. It’s likely that this Page has a short attention span about half the time or give more attention to some information than others. And if they do get their hands on some interesting information, it’s likely that they’ll go all sorts of ways in analyzing it...completely wrong, that is. This Page has the tendency to fixate on specific facts and over-process them to the point where such facts no longer have any discernible meaning. You could give this Page a poem about dogs and two hours later they could come back to you with an overly detailed (and probably wrong) explanation as to how this poem reveals the author’s deep-seated fear of death. In an effort to appear smart, they might use every possible method of analysis at their disposal and end up making it clear to everyone else that they are overcompensating a lot-- all while missing the actual point the information they’ve studied is trying to make. And their attempts to synthesize various sources together may lead to facts getting jumbled and their information being very confusing. Additionally, it’s likely that they’ll substitute ‘normal’ words for extremely complicated/obscure words in an effort to look like a genius, which results in the opposite. All this variety in their attempted analysis leads them to not having a clear sense of truth and meaning in their life. Sure, this Page might think they’ve got it all figured out, but the reality is that they’re in a sort of fog of confusion. This Page might get led around a lot as a result when it comes to meanings and interpretations, unconsciously leaning on someone else’s perception so they don’t look like a fool while still thinking they’re very intelligent. As a result of heavily leaning on someone else’s perspective, they’re likely to be more narrow-minded as well. Maybe they know weird trivia facts (ex. “Did you know that zebras are black with white stripes, and not vice versa?” but the moment you ask them what continent zebras are from, they completely blank).
Additionally, the Page of Light wants attention. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing; it’s just that they’d like to have the spotlight on them, even if their attempts to handle the attention are usually botched entirely. Maybe the one time they finally get people to pay attention to them is when they do something really ridiculous, and everyone mocks them for it.
In terms of metaphorical and literal representations of lack of Light, they might have poor eyesight. They might also live in a dark place and not really get a lot of sun. Adding on to the fact that Pages tend to try and overcompensate, this one is likely the type to spend hours in the sun to try and get a tan, only to get badly burned in the process. This Page could also be exceptionally unlucky and try to fix it by carrying around as many lucky charms as possible.
The Page of Light, like all other Pages, is going to have a very slow growth process. However, if they can unlock their potential, they will become extremely powerful. In the case of the Page of Light, they’re going to go on a quest to discover truth and meaning. This could go badly if they have someone constantly influencing their perception and how they analyze things, as well as what they do with the information they discover. Some independence would help this Page; when they’re alone, not influenced by what other people find important, it will be easier for them to see it themselves. They learn how to analyze information properly and utilize it for the best strategies. Additionally, they’ll be able to get more attention and start using it to their advantage. At first, their teammates might not trust the information this Page gives them, seeing as their insights are usually flawed. But if they can learn to take a chance, they might find that it’ll pay off-- which will also give the Page more attention and boost their confidence.
A god tiered Page of Light who has fully developed will be an excellent teammate to have! They have a much better grasp on their idea of truth as well as how to analyze and apply information. They can also understand other people’s perspectives and therefore be a decent advice-giver when it comes to pointing others to success. If the session hasn’t been completed at this point, they’re the right person to direct it. This Page also thrives in the limelight-- and combining their excellent advice, this is a good player to have. Not only can they strategize, but their teammates actually listen to them!
After they ascend (and if they’ve gone through the proper development), the Page of Light will be extremely powerful. They can utilize/exploit Light and utilize/exploit through Light. First would be luck. That doesn’t sound like too much at first, but think about it. When an enemy comes at them with a knife, this Page just happens to dodge at the perfect moment, and the enemy stabs one of their own comrades instead. The Page also just happens to aim every single shot perfectly, all the time. There are more ways, but needless to say this would make this Page very hard to defeat-- and we haven’t even gotten to their other powers yet! Utilizing Light in its most literal sense would also involve, well, light. A more passive version would be a light distraction like a brief flash. They can also shoot beams of blinding light into their enemies’ eyes, temporarily (or permanently) blinding them. (This could also have the amusing effect of a ‘spiritual illumination,’ i.e. an existential crisis.) This could also cause minor or major burns. Maybe they can microwave stuff with it, too. This power includes utilizing the light already around them-- if it’s daytime, fighting this Page is a bad idea. The Page themself could have a move where they give off an aura of blinding light-- this incorporates both the literal Light power as well as their proficiency for being in the spotlight. Speaking of which, this Page could activate a more subtle power: a particularly distracting presence. Enemies can’t tear their eyes off this Page, who gives off a vibe of being incredibly well-spoken (not charismatic, necessarily, but their words flow very smoothly despite their vocabulary being complex) until it is too late.
Oh! And relating back to that aura of Light I mentioned, they could use this in another subtle way: spreading information. When you speak with this Page, their words are easy to understand, and you feel more intelligent just being in their presence. And though they might not communicate everything in words, you can feel the information and analysis almost transferring to your brain. So basically, this:
Tumblr media
A powerful Page could use this on friends and foes alike. A more direct method would be for this Page to touch a teammate (perhaps by having the teammate close their eyes, and the Page gently lays a finger on their eyelids, since the eyes represent Light?) and communicate the information without any words. However, foes would be infected with unfathomable horrors beyond words in some kind of horrifying Lovecraft-esque way. Which brings me to my next point: Would the Page of Light be able to communicate with and understand the horrorterrors without some sort of mind break? I think so. Feferi was able to communicate with them (and even persuade them to make the dream bubbles), likely as a result of her time with G'lbgolyb, Emissary to the Horrorterrors. So I think that this Page would have the information needed to speak with them, once fully developed, of course. If this Page tries to talk to them prior to that… I don’t think it’ll end well.
As for a land for the Page of Light, I recommend the Land of Mirrors and Libraries. LOMAL is a land shrouded in darkness; the ancient oak trees, once rumored to whisper secrets of old, have shriveled in the endless night. As a result of the constant darkness, the consorts can barely read their books and only have fractions of the knowledge they once possessed. They can give hints to the Page of Light, who can rearrange the mirrors around the planet to reflect the moonlight into the libraries instead. Once they do so and can understand the information in the books, they will know how to bring back the sun, which will rejuvenate the whispering trees.
As for a strife specibus, Pages have used weapons that are obviously, well, weapons (lance, pistols) while Light players tend to have ordinary objects that double as weapons (2xneedlekind, dicekind). That’s kind of a catch-22, so I’ll list options for both. The Page of Light might use a magnifying glass that is actually defunct (though they don’t know it) or maybe a tarot deck that works for both being slammed over enemies’ heads and the Page’s overanalytic tendencies. On the other hand, an actual weapon for this Page could be a ray gun. Maybe they *think* it works because they read that microwave beams are harmful, but the weapon actually does jack squat at first, only becoming more potent with alchemizing it with other weapons.

Lena Luthor x Shapeshifter!Reader//Word Count: 1,869
Series: Part I - Part II - Part III  - Part IV - Part V
"This has gone too far." You mumbled with your hands covering your face.
"Don't you like it?" Lena teased and smiled as she wrapped her arms around you.
"You're a dork." You lowered your hands and laughed.
There were many reasons to love Lena Luthor. She was strong, independent, kind, loyal, compassionate, smart, stunning, a badass, and she was so, so much more. She never ceased to amaze you. Everything she was, and everything she did, you considered it divine. Looking at the black '68 Mustang convertible in her parking spot made you reaffirm your belief that she was a marvel out of this world.
"What? It's a classic." She said while walking towards the driver's door. It was a nice car, you had to admit. "Now, get in."
"Are you driving?" You raised an eyebrow at her. You walked towards the trunk to put your bag in.
"Mmm, this is my Mustang so..." There was a playful look in her eyes. "Yes, I'm gonna ride it." She turned the key and started the car with a big roar.
"There she goes." You smiled and rolled your eyes while walking towards the passenger's door. You imagined that Lena and J'onn could have a good conversation. Considering he also droved a '52 convertible that technically was a spaceship.
Saturday was Alex's birthday and you were going to Midvale to celebrate. Their mother, Eliza, had convinced them to take, at least, the weekend off for the party. So, Kara invited all the Superfriends, including Sam and Ruby, during the last game night. You were more than happy to be going and spend the weekend there. However, it was like a two hour trip from National City to Midvale, and Lena had offered Sam to carpool. It was still Friday when you drove to her house and picked them up. Sam and Ruby were as excited to spend the weekend outside the city.
You arrived at Eliza's house late afternoon. You saw J'onn's car and three motorcycles in the driveway and guessed the Superfriends had arrived early. Kara walked out of the house and welcomed you, leading you inside. As you guessed, the Superfriends were there. James and the birthday girl, Alex, were chatting in the living room. Maggie and J'onn were helping Eliza in the kitchen, and Winn was trying to set up the TV for the karaoke.
After you say hello, Sam and Lena went to catch up with the rest at the living room. Ruby was excited to talk with Alex about a science project for her class, and you went to the kitchen to help with the dinner and cake. Eliza was thrilled to meet you, Kara had told her about your shapeshifting abilities, and she found it fascinating, considering you were not an alien like J'onn.
It was a wonderful evening to celebrate Alex's birthday. Family and friends were there, the food in the oven was delicious, you were sure, and everyone was having a good time. Before dinner, Kara put everyone to sing duets with the karaoke but, of course, she and Ruby stole the spotlight. An hour later, you were helping Eliza set the table and the Superfriends were taking their seats, ready to eat.
However, while you were sitting the doorbell rang, making everyone look at each other in confusion. As far as you knew, none of you were expecting any more guests. It was probably a neighbor calling or a door-to-door salesman, nothing to worry about, so you offered yourself to go open the door.
"Oh, shut." It was the only thing you could say, before your eyes went wide open and a strong hand caught you by the neck, as you opened the door. This was unfortunately something to worry about.
Everyone at the table suddenly stood up, looking with eyes wide open, furrowed eyebrows, or covering their mouths in surprise. Out of the corner of your eyes, you could see your friends preparing themselves to defend you.
"(Y/N)." You heard Lena gasp.
"One move and I break your friend's neck." Rasped Hank Henshaw, taking slow steps inside the house. The pressure in your neck seemed to increase with every step you had to take back.
You tried to turn around to see your friends. Alex, Kara, James and J'onn were in agent-superhero mode, if their clenched jaws and tensed poses were any indication. Winn was practically petrified, looking back and forth between you and Henshaw, waiting for something to happen. Maggie and Eliza were near Sam, who was holding Ruby behind her, trying to protect her. You couldn't see Ruby, but you knew she should be scared. Then you saw Lena, taking a step forward, ready to face her mother's minion.
"What do you want Henshaw?" J'onn demanded to know. Kara had to grab Lena by the arm.
"I'm here from Ms. Luthor..." He looked at your friends with his robotic eye turning a little brighter. "And she's coming with me." At that, you transformed into the biggest animal you could think of.
Henshaw certainly didn't expect being punched in the face by a polar bear. He was still holding you when you transformed and he turned to see you with a confused frown. You seized the opportunity to try to push him back, tearing part of his face and chest with your claws. Next, you turned into rhino and rammed him outside the house, breaking the door frame. You would have to apologize to Eliza later for that. Unfortunately, you remembered Henshaw had super strength as he grabbed you by the horn and threw you over his head. The impact leaving you a little dazed.
When you focused back to Henshaw, you realized Kara and J'onn were outside too, greeting him with clenched fist. This should have been an easy fight, two against one were good numbers, but Henshaw really knew how to fight. J'onn was launched to the front yard with in a single movement and Kara was throwing punches that he managed to dodge or block. Alex and James were at the door watching the fight, surely planning how to help.
You got on your feet and ran towards them, an idea popping in your head. With a jump you landed on Henshaw's back as a python and wrapped yourself around his neck and arms, as tightly as possible. You managed to immobilize him, enough for Kara, and J'onn to return, and hit him in the guts. You considered it payback for almost choking you. However, he started to untangle himself, grabbing and stretching you with his bare hands.
You couldn't risk being teared apart by his bare hands so you had to let go and Henshaw tossed you again to the side. The fight continued with Kara and J'onn blowing punches at him. You could hear the three of them complaining and grunting at every blow. So you returned to the fight, back as a polar bear. Henshaw heard you growl and turned his head, his angry expression telling you he had had enough of your animal shenanigans.
Henshaw had the nerve to grab J'onn by the neck and use him as a bowling ball against Kara before going for a bear hug with you. He wrapped her arms around you, lifting and squeezing your torso until the pain made you scream. You had to turn back to normal and fell to the ground. Henshaw was ready to finish you when a blast threw him away. Alex was in the driveway, pointing her alien gun at him.
After that, the fight ended pretty much quickly. Kara and J'onn recovered fast enough to deliver a couple of power punches more, making Henshaw finally withdraw. Kara wanted to chase after him but J'onn convinced her not to. It was already night time and he had easily disappeared, they couldn't risk going into a bigger trap.
"(Y/N)!" You heard Lena scream as she passed Alex and James at the door. You were still in the ground, grunting and holding your sides, it hurt like hell and you were breathing with some difficulty. Kara and J'onn also rushed towards you.
"Let's get inside. (Y/N) will need some medical attention." Ordered J'onn. Kara had to carry you inside with Lena following close behind.
Kara left you in her room upstairs, with Alex and Eliza to check your injuries. James and Winn were improvising a new front door while the rest of the girls were in the living room, distracting Ruby. At first, she had been scared of the whole situation but, after realizing she was surrounded by literal superheroes, it triggered her excitement.
"You'll have to rest for at least seven weeks." Eliza handed you a few painkillers and a glass of water.
"Alright, got it." You grimaced as you took the pills.
"That means no shapeshifting for a while, (Y/N)." Alex raised an eyebrow.
"This means I’ll have to take the bus to work, ugh." You grunted.
"I'm gonna call Lena, be right back." Alex ruffled your hair and left the room.
"How's (Y/N)?" J'onn asked once she saw Alex walk down the stairs. Lena turned immediately, fidgeting with her hands. She had seen you struggle with your breathing and she hoped it wasn't anything serious.
"With four broken ribs but fine." She said while walking towards the group. "You can go upstairs now, if you want, Lena."
"Thank you." That's all Lena said before rushing upstairs.
Eliza had made some recommendations and reminded you again not to use your abilities, until they were sure you were completely recovered. You thanked her and also apologized for the broken door. She just laughed and assured you it was fine, you had saved them after all. Then, Lena showed up at the door and she left the room to give you some privacy. You smiled when you saw Lena and raised your hand towards her.
"How are you feeling?" She asked and took your hand in hers.
"Good, with some pain but I'm okay. I had it worst in Roulette's ring." You squeezed her hand reassuringly. It was definitely not the worst injury you ever had. "How's everyone?"
She sat near you, in Kara's bed, and told you how everyone was doing so far after the attack. James and Winn were still working on the improvised door. J'onn and Kara were still talking about Henshaw, and Maggie and Alex were talking with Sam and Ruby, trying to answer their questions without revealing anything too confidential.
"Ruby is a little bit too excited now that she knows her aunts and uncles are superheroes." Lena chuckled.
"I bet." You smiled, knowing Ruby would want to know everything about the Superfriends.
"So, what did Eliza tell you?"
"Just that I need to rest and have a few checkups, to see if I'm healing correctly. Also, I can't transform for, like, seven weeks at least. Meaning… I would need a ride to work." You raised an eyebrow at her.
"Alright." Lena smiled and kissed you. "Just not my Mustang."
"Hey, I saved your life." You tried to protest. "Twice."
"Mmm, I guess we can carpool." Then she kissed you. It was going to be an interesting weekend.

Sanji x Nami FF - Letting Go Ch. 2
Disclaimer: I do not own One Piece just my FF
Summary: This is a FF “Version” of the WCI-Theme set in an AU. The story differs a lot from the original
Warning: English is not my first language ;)

Next Chapter: https://allienjoyz.tumblr.com/post/160670485138/sanji-x-nami-ff-letting-go-chap-3
The next day Nami was on her way home from work. It was a rough day so she almost forgot about last evening. Almost. Sanji and her didn’t talk too much yesterday and his fake smile was really worrying her – it was so unlike him. Normally he would go head over heels for her spending time with him, but all he did was quietly drying the dishes she had handed him. By now she was also wondering why it bothered her that much. Sure Sanji was her friend and it was natural to worry about friends, but it wasn’t like something really bad happened to Sanji, at least for what she knew, everyone is in a bad mood from time to time, so why did it bother her. Nami took out her mobile to check on time: 07:23 o’Clock. “So it must be dark already…” she thought, sighing about all the time she had to spend at work for such a low amount of money.
The subway stopped. Nami was walking fast off the station turning round the corner when she suddenly felt someone’s hand on her mouth.  “Wow what a rare beauty…” she heard a deep voice right behind her left ear. This man was so close that she could feel his warm breath on her neck. Nami dropped her phone trying to pull the arm of the man, who was holding her rudely, away from her. But she had no chance. “You’re right, what a happy coincidence. At least we can make use of her in more than one way than” Another man appeared in front of hair. She couldn’t see his face, because of the sunglasses and jacket he wore. The only thing she could see was his red hair. She thought about her options: Both of the two man seemed to be strong and from the physical appearance of one of than she could guess, that they were probably faster that her. Trying to fight them off and running a way wouldn’t be the winning option then. She had to get help. Her phone was lying on the ground, so no chance there. The area was known for it’s lack of inhabitants and life in the streets, the chance of meeting someone was low, the chance of meeting someone was even lower. So what to do? Her only chance would be tricking these man.
She tried to relax her body. She took a deep breath and raised her hands as if she’d surrender.  The red haired man smiled “Smart girl… You’re coming with us. Yonji put her some handcuffs on and get her in the car.” The red haired man walked towards a black car which just stood on the roadside. The man behind her took his hand off her mouth to bend her hands behind her back. She heard the handcuffs clatter. This was her chance. She turned around grabbing the handcuffs and locking them around the hands of the man who was looking at her not realizing what was going on. She kicked him between the legs as hard as she could and ran off in the direction opposite to where the car stood.  The adrenalin kicked trough her veins as she run. From behind she heard some angry yells that came nearer and nearer. In panic her eyes were searching for something to help her. Suddenly she saw a police car a few meters away. Nami gave everything she had to speed up and get to the police car, the man who were behind her couldn’t possibly abduct her, or whatever they were trying to do to her, in front of the police.
Sweat was running down her forehead when she finally reached the police car. When the officer saw her he immediately got out of the car. “Lady is everything alright? What is wrong?” “There are two men… ha… ha… haa….following me – please help.” Namis was panting heavily. “Of course Ms. you’re sa…” the police officer got interrupted by one of Namis chasers. “Hello Mr. Police Officer thank you for catching our prey” the smile on the man’s face was bold and disgusting. Namis eyes wandered from her hunters to the police officers. He was in shock. In his eyes panic, his lips pressed together. Slowly he let his head sink. “Vinsmoke-sama…” he nodded shortly without lifting his head. Namis eyes widened in shock. She would get no help here. She jogged the police officer and begged “Please. Help.” But there was no response. Furious with anger she hit the police officer with her fist, then turned towards her chaser with the aim to hit them with all she got. But the red haired man hold her fist in front of his face, before her fist could reach it – effortlessly. “You know” the red haired man started while his smile got bolder and wider “you should have been a good girl and not such a pain in the ass. But lucky for you I like the fiery type… Nami” In this moment Namis heart skipped a beat. They knew her, they came for her. She was not just a random victim. But why? The man smile disappeared. Before Nami could react or ask why they wanted her, she felt his fist in her face and everything went dark.
Sanji was at home entering the bathroom, when he heard his mobile ring. He went back to his room to look who was calling but he already knew it. 3 days ago an unknown number had called him, when he answered the call he heard the voice of a man saying “Son…” Sanji didn’t have to think a second about who has called it was his father, his real father. The young man immediately hung up, as he had no interest to have any kind of relationship with his real family again. The number had called Sanji multiple times a day since then, but Sanji didn’t answered any of it. A short view on his mobile assured him that it was just another call of this number again. So Sanji went back to the bath again. He had the morning shift at work today, so he was home early. He had time to prepare the dinner, clean the house a bit and to work out. “It must be late by now” Sanji thought to himself and sighed. He had tried to keep himself buzzy all day with the aim to keep the remorse away from his mind, he still felt guilty for lying to Nami and now that he was standing under the hot water pattering down on him, there was nothing that could keep these guilty feelings away. Even if he wanted to tell Nami or his friends what was bothering him, he didn’t know how. Belonging to that family like his, that kept murdering, betraying and oppressing people was sure as hell nothing he’d be proud of. He had never seen himself as a part of this family, never seen himself as Vinsmoke Sanji. Not that his family had seen him as one of them. So he thought when he finally had the opportunity to leave this place that he was never going to be confronted with this family again.  Telling other people about a fact, that he didn’t accept, that meant nothing to him seemed to be pointless. But now that Sanji was continuously getting receiving calls and with his father stepping into public, which surely didn’t mean any good, his parentage was becoming a matter and he could not deny that.
Sanji cut the water and stepped out of the shower. He look in the mirror and held his braid out of his face. He looked at his eyebrows, this damn Vinsmoke-Curles. It would only be a matter of time till his shitty brothers would step in the spotlight as well and not long from this point he had to tell his friends – his beloved family. When he finished wiping himself dry he returned to his room. His phone was blinking so he opened it surprised to see that he got a message. The message has been sent by the same number that was calling him every day and Sanji thought about deleting it unread, when he noticed the attachment.  This couldn’t mean any good. His heartbeat slightly speeded up when he read the message “Surprise for you” and it completely stopped beating when he opened the attachment. It was a picture. A picture of Nami lying somewhere -unconscious. A laceration above her right eye was bleeding and her eye was slightly swollen.
Sanji, for the first time in forever, was in panic. He had the feeling someone kicked him right in to the stomach, while he was drowning in a sea of very cold and heavy water. He felt like he was chocking. His whole body was shivering. He was grabbing his phone so tight, that the screen began to split. Thousands of thoughts were rushing through his mind: Why did they get her? How did they knew about her? Why her? Why not him? What are they going to do to her? And what did they want from him?
After a few minutes Sanji called the number. If he wanted answers to those questions he had to ask. “Sanji” the voice on the other side was not his fathers, but one of his brother though he didn’t know which one. “How are you?” Sanji had to calm himself to not shout at that bastard to not show how desperate he was.
“Quit that shit. What are you doing with her?”
“Well since you were not willed to answer our calls, we had to get well…. A good argument for you to visit us.”
Sanji felt like he was hit in the face – They kidnapped and hurt Nami because he didn’t answer the phone. He would never forgive himself for this.
“What do you want from me then?”
“Well as you know our beloved father has by strange coincidences just gained the office of the mayor. These coincidences do want to be rewarded, strange as it sounds: you are the reward”
Sanji didn’t get it.
“What. Do. You. Want.?”
“You’re a price to be sold. Congratulations brother you will be given as a husband to a sweet young lady.”
Sanji didn’t know what to say. His mind was empty right now. Marry? But who? And why him?
“You’re better going to attend to that wedding or your little friend is going to get hurt really really bad. And you don’t want anything to happen to Nami-Chan, right?”
Sanjis anger was right back up. How could he dare to call her like this?
“If I come – you let her go?”
“I don’t know brother…. She’s something very special, so beautiful and … sexy. Maybe I’ll keep her to have some fun. But don’t let that stop you from coming, you have other friends we can use to get what we want.”
Then his brother was gone. He had hung up. Sanji was cooking. He felt like ripping his brother apart. His phone vibrated. A message with a location. Sanji finished dressing himself and then ran out of the room as fast as he could. Past his friends who he could hear were asking what was wrong, straight to his car that he started. He didn’t even put his seatbelt on before rushing towards the location that has been send to him. Everything that was on his mind now was saving Nami. Because if one of his brothers hurt her our touched her in any way again. He swear he’d kill them and maybe himself.

Lawlight Week Exchange
Title: Nexus Name of creator: @mgcmind Created for: @dotti55 Prompt: Light opens up to L the fact he thinks he’s gay. Characters: L Lawliet/Light Yagami Rating, warnings and no. of words: rated G, no warnings, 1758 words
The realization comes upon L slowly, which is unusual for him, as most realizations slam into his mind hard and fast, like freight trains. When he looks back on it, it is difficult to pinpoint the exact moment when he changed from the L who did not know to the L who did. Between late-night conversations (read: arguments) and early morning breakfasts, one truth about Yagami Light felt like it just…manifested itself, coming out from under the shadows and becoming brighter and brighter, until the thought of it ever being kept secret seemed ludicrous and unbelievable. (It is unusual for him to place this much importance on one piece of information. It isn’t as though it is useful for the investigation. It isn’t as though it is a clue. But perhaps it isn’t strictly the case that interests L right now.)
***
“Yagami-kun, do you believe in true love?” L asks one morning, early in their forced cohabitation, over scones and coffee.
Between one sip of coffee and the next, Light smiles, laughs a bit, like he thinks the question is a joke.
“Does anyone?” he answers, which isn’t really an answer at all.
“Of course,” says L. “Many people do, I expect.”
“Are you one of them?” asks Light. He keeps up a hint of the previous smile. One elbow rests casually on the tabletop, his chin sitting atop one lightly curled fist.
He is trying to deflect, and L says so.
Light stiffens a bit. The smile is nowhere to be seen now. (It means nothing, though. Light makes no expression, probably draws no breath, without precise, calculated intent. So if he looks caught off guard, it doesn’t mean he really is caught off guard.)
“So what if I am? This has nothing to do with the case. Are you going to lock me up again if I refuse to answer personal questions?”
L crunches into a scone. It is crispy on the outside. It is soft, warm, and luscious inwardly.
“That would be counter-productive,” he says. “Besides…what if I am merely trying to get to know you better? Is that so wrong? We are friends, aren’t we?”
“Strange topic for friends,” Light remarks drily, looking away.
L shrugs. He goes back to his scone.
Silence reigns for about thirty seconds or so. Then:
“Oh for God’s sake, Ryuzaki,” Light blurts out. “We both know you’re asking because you’re trying to convince me, yet again, to become intimate with Misa to get information about the second Kira. If I don’t believe in true love, you’ll say that there is no reason not to use my influence over Misa’s emotions to get information, since it could save many lives and won’t betray any hypothetical relationship with my True Love in the future. And if I do believe in true love, you’ll say that any True Love of mine would understand the position I’m in, and approve of whatever means I used to save innocent – or not so innocent – people. Because anyone compatible with me would have to have the mentality that the ends justify the means.”
L nods. No point in denying it, after all.
Light sets down his coffee cup with a none-too-gentle sound.
“If you’re smart enough for all of that, you should be smart enough to know I’m not refusing to seduce Misa because of the existence or nonexistence of any True Love,” Light tells him. “I’m refusing because it’s morally wrong. I have principles, Ryuzaki, and I’m asking you, yet again, to respect them.”
L makes a conciliatory gesture toward Light, over the tabletop.
“Very well, Yagami-kun. My apologies,” he says.
More silence. They finish breakfast, and manage to walk down the stairs to the investigation desks and computers without tripping each other up on the long handcuff chain.
When they sit down next to each other, each at their own respective monitors, Light says, “If you really want to know: no, I don’t believe in true love. And I don’t not believe in it either. I need evidence to make decisions, and I don’t have enough, at this point, to make a determination either way.”
L turns to look at him. He is met with shiny brown hair and a striking profile.
Then Light adds, with forced nonchalance, “And yes, we are friends.”
He turns to meet L’s gaze. His lips turn up - just the barest bit – into a small smile.
L finds himself wanting to smile back, inexplicably. He doesn’t, because Rue Ryuzaki certainly would not. But he does allow himself a nod and sincere-sounding, “thank you, Yagami-kun.”
***
Misa doesn’t miss an opportunity to flirt with Light. If she is around, she is dancing around him, trying to catch his eye, or else whispering in his ear, or smiling and batting her long eyelashes in his directions.
Light, for his part, never misses an opportunity to rebuff her advances. If she tries to sit in his lap, he stands and moves away. If she hangs off of his arm, he takes it back, pretending to type up research notes.
It seems incomprehensible to Misa that anyone could spend any length of time with Light Yagami and not want to engage with him romantically. When L attached his wrist to Light’s with a length of metal chain, her mind immediately jumped to L’s sexual preferences and how he clearly wanted Light near for his own gratification. When L corrected her, Misa reacted to him as a jealous lover would to a rival.
Misa is endearing, in her way, and L takes her accusations in stride. He takes her unwanted desserts, and bonks her on the head with paper megaphones, and occasionally joins her in teasing Light.
But even as he does these things, he remains acutely aware of his prime suspect. And he notes that throughout Misa’s endless flirtations, and her endless insinuations about L’s alleged homosexuality, Light remains conspicuously silent.
***
“I’m not lying to you, Ryuzaki!” Light screams. His voice - habitually an octave higher than most males his age, in order that he may appear kind, agreeable, and generally soft - goes an octave down. L realizes that this is how Light would sound normally, if he would allow himself to be even halfway authentic.
L prefers this voice. L will always prefer Light in his most truthful form. He will always be annoyed when Light obfuscates, or conceals, or downright lies.
“You are. You have been for months. You are Kira. There’s no question. Simply admit it.”
“I won’t!” yells Light, going so far as to stomp his foot. The moon shines itself like a spotlight on him.
“You hide yourself from everyone, all the time,” L says. “It is exhausting, isn’t it? Playing a part every second of every day? Wouldn’t it be nice to be honest with one person, at least? Wouldn’t it be nice to be honest with me?”
“I am honest with you! You’re too blind to see what’s right in front of you!”
“I have been called many things, Yagami-kun, but blind is not one of them,” says L mildly.
“That’s because I’m the only one you’ve ever met who’s smart enough to see it! You, with your pseudonyms and your computers and the goddamn persona you wear like a second skin! You want to lecture me about authenticity?” Light says, viciously. “Despite all your poking and prodding and invasions of privacy and these fucking things” - he brandishes the wrist with the handcuff on it - “despite all that, I’ve never lied to you!”
“Yagami-kun,” L scoffs. “You haven’t even been able to tell me the real reason you won’t investigate Misa.”
“I won’t manipulate her because I have principles! How many times to do I have tell you?!”
“Principles…” muses L. “Well, there may be some truth to that. But there is another reason. A deeper reason, something you won’t admit to me. I don’t know if you’ve even admitted it to yourself.”
And just like that, they’re no longer talking about the case.
Light’s eyes narrow, and his lips set themselves into an unbending line. The air surrounding them seems to chill all at once, and solidify like glass. Like ice. L wonders, for the first time in his life, if he has perhaps pushed someone too far.
“How dare you. How dare you!” Light hisses. “To think that I…that I honestly thought…”
He laughs, and it is a twisted, broken, furious sound.
“You can’t leave well enough alone, can you? It’s not enough for you to solve crimes? You have to push people and push and push and push until they break open. You want whatever anyone is hiding, whether it’s relevant to a crime or not! You can’t let anyone hold anything private, can you? You are so goddamned cold.”
Light delivers this diatribe with the harshest intonation L has ever heard another human being utter. Then he turns around, presenting L with his back, and stands, if possible, even taller and prouder than before.
“Congratulations, L. You’ve solved another mystery. Even if I were completely and utterly morally bankrupt, I wouldn’t be able to manipulate Misa the way you want me to. I couldn’t manipulate any woman that way. Not without a hell of a lot of mental gymnastics, anyway, and maybe the threat of torture as an incentive.”
L says nothing. He never thought that Light would say so much, and he truly doesn’t know where to go from here.
“Nothing to say, Mr. Detective? I bet it’s still not enough for you. Not clear enough, or open enough, or honest enough, huh? I haven’t cut open my stomach and spilled my guts on the floor in front of you, so you aren’t satisfied. Fine. I suppose I’d hate for you to think me a coward, as well as a liar. So how’s this?”
Light turns around again, meeting L’s eyes with none of his typical kind-heartedness. None of his typical humanity.
“I’m gay.”
Still, L cannot speak. He can only stare. The moonlight pours down around Light’s shiny hair, creating the faintest of halos.
“Still nothing to say, huh? Why so quiet?” Light jeers. He can be truly vengeful when he wants to be. “Maybe instead of uncovering everyone else’s secrets, you ought to pay some attention to your own, detective.”
And with that, Light pulls the two of them to the computers, opens a browser window, and throws himself into research.
L tries to do the same, and finds himself a failure.

Celebrity wants to be normal and normal wants to be special
Hi guys this is Tajma Cameron TajMA'sLeionBrada it's 2017 and I am about the "New Year...New You"
Let's examine the pains of last year, release, renew and revitalize
Purge What's going on inside of you so you can emerge with your external beauty matching your internal renewal and allowing that to  create the external world around you. ~~~~~~~\~~~\\\~~~\~~~~~~ Celebrity wants to be normal and normal wants to be special
I did a Article Not to Long ago that referred to “I wish I was them” and this is almost a different take on that article.
Last Night I watched two Movies Back to back. “Maid in Manhattan” and “Beyond the Lights”
Simply put
Maid in Manhattan is about a Normal woman for brief moment she got the attention of someone that she never would have even been scene by had she not been in the right place at the right time the person had power and money and the person was interested in her and she was pore inner city woman that just worked at the hotel but for one moment he had her attention she had his and for the first time she wanted better for herself and felt she deserved it
Beyond the lights is about a up and coming Musician that everyone owned her and everyone was out to get there own thing from her grabbing at her pushing her and trying to fit her into there box and she rebelled after a attempted to get attention she meets someone that finally sees her for who she is beyond the persona everyone that created for her and she wanted them for it and that person wanted her for her without all the bells and whistles he wasn’t going to be him and allow her to be her persona with him she found herself again in the process.
Which Brings me to my point.
A celebrity wants to disappear and regular person wants to be seen as special. I have watched a lot of celebrities and the ones that are honest will tell you when they walk off the stage 9 times out of ten they want to date or marry someone that has NOTHING to do with the spotlight. That is there complete opposite so that that they can disappear when they are with them.
Some celebrities won’t even date people that don’t know who they are because they can be themselves there real selves the person that they are when the lights are turned off with this person and they know they are safe it won’t become a international incident because the person they are with sees the person not the persona. But if the person knows who they are on stage and in the lights if they are in there private space and private world there person habits aren’t under scrutiny and they don’t feel like they are under scrutiny. That’s why I will say it again that a lot of the time you will see the FINEST sexiest man or woman with the nerdy plain Joe or Jane. Because THAT person connects with there Person not there persona.
And the person that lives there everyday life that is talented goal oriented but doesn’t have a door way to break free. And a lot of people that are everyday mundane 9 to 5 people aren’t going to get the opportunity to talk to congressman or celebrates be in that atmosphere. But you see I have had the opportunity to be in rooms with Millionaires and football greats States Atteronies.
The normal person just wants to touch it and go back to normal touch it and go back to e themselves. You see a normal person though they have dreams goals and aspirations they want someone to see and understand that they are smart intelligent and have a voice and have someone to not only pay attention to them but to want to see the best come out of them.
But what happens when a person gets the operertunity to be able to meet someone of stature and that person is in to them lets say a guy to a female and she catches his attention she gets to spends time with him and he sees her. And she tells him all her dreams all her aspirations all her secrets all her hidden talents and he has the power to help her bring those things to the for front.
But what does the normal person do when what they did in private for fun as a blog or as something that they just read and had a opinion on that when they got in big rooms they had to opportunities to talk to people but that place was safe they knew they were being heard but they we’re being pushed past comfort.
But what happens when you are what happens when the creator who hid all there talents and skills or the pushed all there works and talent on a website that they managed and no one ever saw there face no one ever really knew who they were. But they get connected to this person of people and tell that person and that person starts to help them turn there hidden thing into public thing.
They are okay behind the computer scream, even in the studio as long as they are in the creative process, but what happens when contracts are signed and it goes from contracts to PUBLIC appearances  where people see there face. And the pressure sets in when camera's are flashing and they no longer have there anonymity and this is when the rebel comes out and it fights to do something against that Grain wild and crazy just to find release.
That is what you see happen in Beyond the lights” because the person became famous and she couldn’t handle the pressure of being scene grabbed on and now people want her but all for the wrong reasons. And what happens in a lot of situation is you have a panic attack and want to retreat to place that you can’t be seen or heard and can’t find that place again.
Which brings me to the realization when you look back at those celebrates that marry the normal girl or guy. That normal girl just wanted to feel special and be seen, while the celebrity guy or girl just wanted to feel invisible they can be invisible with thee spouse and the plan Jane can feel like the celebrity and where love is involved. There is safety net for them both they know the other person has them.
When the normal Girl wants to feel special but has a voice that the world needs to hear they are paired up with a celebrity that is perfect for them, they weren’t looking for it they never desired it but that celebrity has the clout and the pull to pull them into a world that is able to take what they have and build it into something with the protection and cover of having been a celebrity or public figure and they know how to lead them through all the pit falls that they might have gone through had they done it alone.
The celebrity gives them again I say a safety need they feel safe walking into the rooms and arenas they never would have walked in before with boldness because they know at least one person has there back and when they want to retreat they back tight into that person arms and that person keeps them calm and cautiously pushes them back out there where they need to be. And on the flip side when they get to where they need to go they are thankful because they got someplace they never could have gotten alone.
But the celebrity on the flip side has the confidents that they can confide there own person experiences fears issues in that person and they feel safe, they know that they don’t have to worry about being hurt because they feel safe that this person because of there apprehension to the spotlight they know that they can open themselves up and dig deeper into parts of themselves because when they are lone with that person they can forget who they are and just be.
It’s a dichotomy
And the moral is… everyone wants to feel safe loved and know that in this small little space with this one person that they see watch others heart and in that space are protected and loved which allows them both to be free to be who they really are and run for the things they really want without fear because in that place in that space with that person… they are TRULY FREE

Kevin Cage of @spotlightsaga reviews... 60 Days In (S03E03) Trust Issues Airdate: March 16, 2017 Ratings: 0.822 Million :: 0.31 18-49 Demo Share Score: 6/10 **********SPOILERS BELOW********** Initially we had a plan to work in '60 Days In' and parallel the manufactured, fictional Netflix Drama 'Orange is the New Black' with 6DI's authentic, guerrilla style, aggressive reality television meets dramatic docu-series, expose. After a few episodes of OITNB and it's focus on the prison riots and binge-worthy bottleneck type episodic viewing patterns, it was clear that these two weren't a good fit. Each series that Spotlight Saga now covers will be taken to a new height... Last television season we overwhelmed ourselves with the number of projects and frankly that's just not fair to shows that can have a real existential impact on everyone from viewers to participants to the people making the series. Due to an overwhelming response to '60 Days In' we are going to keep pushing, people see and feel the effect a series like this can have on our society and the corrections system at large. It's hard to say if these seasons of 6DI actually affect the jails they take place in, but people are watching, and it's damn well doing something. I've personally talked about reaching out to former inmates and participants of S1 & S2 and readers responding with a lot of questions and comments across the internet & social media, and believe me.. We'll be doing the same with S3 & S4. We've already begun lining up a few, but before we dove directly in, I wanted to make sure I could give this project the attention that it deserved. After two episodes we've already seen 1 person flee the scene when they found out that Louisville was upgraded to Atlanta... And we've only met a few of the show's participants. Take the sign however you want, we believe it to be an obvious cue that S3 was done right and that everyone will be given their fare share of the limelight... An opportunity to make their personal contributions. Despite our assessments of any new volunteer inmates, remember that everyone at Spotlight Saga wishes all participants the best and we all understand that there is truly only so much that Lucky 8 can do to keep the cast as safe as possible. 'Trust Issues' starts with Don. It's been awhile since we've covered the show, but to give a quick catch-up... Don has a problem with any kind of authority but ultimately has honorable intentions. We're only human, y'all. For drama sake, Lucky 8 has somehow made sure that Don ended up with the oldest, wisest, most street savvy inmate in the entire jail, DelRico. Of course DelRico questions Don's cover story. Production and the facilities they work with have failed to come up with truly great cover stories because Don's, like many others are, is weak at best and allows the participant too much wiggle room to say the wrong thing. Don does the best he can to sell it, but it's obvious that DelRico smells blood in the water. Don could be in trouble. Clearly DelRico is lying to him... If he had 30 years on his plate, he'd be in a different zone entirely and be praying for them to take him on into prison. He's testing him, that must be it. Since we're on the subject of terrible cover stories, if A&E wants to continue to do this series, they might want to also have an extensive class beforehand on slang and different terminologies that the inmates might come across or use to make themselves look more adapted to this lifestyle. You don't need to be in jail multiple times to know particular lingo or slang connected to a specific area's 'life of crime'. These contestants are supposed to be 'first timers', not first time ever coming a crime'rs! Street smarts aren't necessarily a problem for Don, however they do seem to be an issue for Calvin. His bunkmate, Dasanique, is also suspicious and it's easy to see why. DelRico might be dangerous, but I think off top that the younger groups pose more of a real threat than the older crowd does. DelRico can easily be swayed by Don's approach to authority, they bond over it and Don uses it to his advantage. It's a smart move. Calvin wants to help so bad but he comes from a different world & more importantly a different place from the soul, so he simply doesn't think like that... 'Roll with it and use what's working.' Calvin is also easily embarrassed... As the CO's call him out for his sloppy bunk keeping skills, he clearly becomes embarrassed and slightly confused. He's blindsided easily and these are things that these younger men notice, whether it's intentional or not... It's a sociological response. Calvin is oblivious that Dasanique thinks that he's a snitch. He's obviously in trouble and the clever tv editors show off their skills and demonstrate just how oblivious he is by splitting an interview where Calvin is telling the producers everything is going well with Dasanique yelling through the vent to other inmates as to what he thinks of Calvin. Clever, editors, real clever... And although I'm legitimately worried about Calvin, as I am all the participants, I believe that Calvin's strong resolve will prove to benefit him in the end. Essentially this is one big set-up episode so we'll have to wait and see, the dominoes are being set, it's now a question as to how they'll fall. Never count anyone out or anyone in. As far as the men as concerned, my personal favorite, Jon, is clearly thinking fast and naturally going with the flow. He's doing exactly as he should... Keeping his head down, his mouth shut, making acquaintances, but keeping them all at an arms length. Jon is keeping his details light and instead of engaging in thorough conversations about details of his charges and present situation, he's engaging in games, or *reluctantly* letting other people talk. Yeah, I'm talking about Deshaun, the babyfaced 'blood' wannabe who is in for crack possession who talks a whole lot... Like a WHOLE LOT. It's funny how the other men cast in the show can't seem to shut up, and on the flipside Jon can't keep the inmates from shutting up and blabbing in public to him. This is just yet another testament that Jon is playing his hand the best way he knows how, while the other men struggle to find their niche and get a grip on balancing adapting to jail life past their cover stories and 'alleged' crimes committed. Nate is the newest edition to the male cast. He's good looking, but he has a bit of 'fish out of water' look to him that worries me intensely. He has military training so those things should and most likely will cancel each other out at some point. The thing is, almost everyone has had some type of degree of difficulty adjusting to either the jail or their cover story. Once these guys are settled and can get past this 'What are you in for?' routine, things will be come much easier and a whole lot less scary. The producers continue to make a conscious decision to downplay Nate's airtime, which leads me to believe that, in fact, he'll have quite a bit in the future... And we all know that Lucky 8 Production Team loves them some military men... I.E their 'Golden Boy' from S1 & S2, Zac Holland (Zachary Baker). The previews lead us us to believe that Nate has trouble ahead, but outside of that bewildered look in his eye that is most likely natural for anyone walking into Fulton County Lockup, I have a feeling he will be just fine. We didn't spend a whole lot of time with the women this episode and that's a shame. I took an immediate liking to Jessica, and she continues to play it smart like Jon is doing among the male population and keeping her down and mainly observing. However, she is showing signs of shock & disbelief that put her resolve in question. I hope that she didn't just check in to get a rare taste of her husband's former life and then bounce... But as I've said before, I have the upmost respect for all involved here. And with only reviewing two episodes (now three), I've already talked to several actual inmates who seem to be trying to turn their negative experiences in Fulton County Jail into positive ones, more on that later... Although on our FB page you can find a YouTube video of Male Inmate Trae, who has created a well-crafted piece of music accompanied by his environmental influences... Check it out '6LUE_ANACONDA'. Unfortunately, Jessica's polarizing bunkmate, Lyric isn't among those few inmates. Although, for the record, if at anytime these articles make their way to Lyric or anyone that knows Lyric hands', I would love to speak with her... She's fascinating. I feel like she's not being shown in a proper light when it comes to her portrayal on television. I don't know Lyric and I'm not pretending I know anything real about Lyric from the brief edits that she's made onto the show, but I feel this weird empathetic connection with her. I am no stranger to jails, juvenile halls, detention centers, group homes, rehabs, or boot camps... I was never in the foster system, so I can't even imagine adding that to the list, but Lyric, to me, comes off as a fascinating and complex individual who never got a fair shake. Now, here she is on the '60 Days In: Atlanta', and she's not being painted in the best of lights either. I hope that that changes or she's put in front of someone who is able to help tell her story because she seems like she is one compelling tale after another. I was so invested with the show while she was on it that I was furious with Iesha as she taunted her into getting physical, then just pulled her hair and threw embarrassing blow after embarrassing blow. Iesha, if these reviews make it your way, you might as well put them down. She reminds me of the bitchy, unruly medium sized dog at the dog park that squares up with every bigger dog she sees. It's sad. Obviously they let this poor excuse for a fight go on for the cameras because no one is truly in danger and Lucky 8 needs some fight scenes to hand into the network. Here ya go, A&E, enjoy! Just as we added Nate to the Male Gen Pop, Mauri (with an I) is added to Female Gen Pop in the South Annex. Mauri is a former corrections officer from a men's state penitentiary. She cares more about her weave than she seems to care about anything else. Then again, I am immediately triggered and understand when she says that if she loses that weave it will make her feel less like of a woman. Essentially she is saying that any potential removal of said weave will play a huge role in dehumanizing her. Just from talking to women of color from various countries (mainly Trinidad and Jamaica, as well as transplants from Caribbean Islands here in Miami) when working on previous articles, particularly about the 'fetishization of black skin and it's psychological and sociological effects', I have a deep understanding that anything that tends to affect some of these women in a way where they feel anything less than a human being is particularly jarring to their senses, more so than other groups of people or gender. We are generally taught to respect women and when women are denied that respect or have had traumatic experiences, particularly fueled by race, it can truly flip the wrong switch. Unfortunately, that switch has almost always been toggled, outside of those born with specific blessings (as Lil Wayne would call them), so it's understandable (at least for me) that Mauri would cling to this specific 'piece of her' as she's being processed and brought in. Also, in a more simplified perspective, said weave may also trouble Mauri excessively because it looks like a glue-on wig and she may have been told it could go either way at intake considering that once she's inside, not everyone knows she's is this program. Mauri ends up keeping the weave/wig and the inmates notice and point it out as soon as she arrives. It's hard to get a read on Mauri as we don't spend a whole lot of time with her, just like her fellow late entrant male counterpart, Nate... But once again, I have made respect for anyone who walked in those doors... I don't care if you were worried about a piece of lint in your pocket that you brought from your house because it gave you a sense of home. People sometimes dismiss or nervously laugh off my more intricate or complicate breakdown of simply human behavior... But that's because the truth, or the mere possibility of that truth, makes people nervous and defensive. That's it for 'Trust Issues', guys. I've attempted to add as much as I possibly can to what I admit to being a 'set-up episode' more than anything. I will continue to try and bring you alternate perspectives that others have yet to bring to the table... And also... RATINGS, I got ratings, which have still not made it to wikipedia or any other source material. I have no idea why... But I'm happy to release them and will be sharing them with TVTime and Twitter now as well. Remember to comment wherever your seeing this article. We love feedback! Please, remember that we cover this show episodically and refrain from looking at spoilers that could affect our perspective, so please don't send us any either... We are aware of 'Too Tall' and his impact on the series but specifics will come as we tackle each episode...
