thank you, it did go well! and yeah, when i say my "work" i'm actually a phd student, so technically what i do is actually study but it's pretty much my full time job! i never know whether to refer to it as "uni" or "work" because it's not like a typical degree but i'm also not technically employed for what i do so 😅 the university i'm at closes down for two weeks between christmas and new year, so we all get that time off which is really nice! up until i started this year i worked casual in retail for like 6 years so this will be the first christmas eve in that time that i haven't had to work which is refreshing! i hope you get a nice break too!!

ooh yes, the problem with tests like 16personalities is that they're what's known as "dichotomy" tests, where they test for i vs e, s vs n, etc. which kinda oversimplifies it and gives off the impression that people are one or the other, and also leads to some stereotypes (e.g. sensors aren't creative, feelers are overemotional, etc) which just kinda biases people towards/against certain types! i have a link in my pinned post as well which is an intro to the cognitive functions which is (in my opinion) a more in-depth and accurate way to look at mbti! i have an explanation under the cut too because it got a bit long and i don't want to annoy anyone on my dash haha. i see your other ask too so i'll answer that as well so i can tell you more about your potential types!!

basically there are 8 cognitive functions and each type uses 4, probably most importantly every type actually has a mixture of all "categories" of functions - i.e. everyone senses, everyone intuits, everyone feels, everyone thinks, and there are "introverted" and "extroverted" variations on those functions that on a very basic level equates to whether you focus it function internally or externally, and you're stronger at some functions than you are at others. i'm probably not going to be the best at explaining it haha but as an example i'm an istj, so my dominant/first function is introverted sensing (Si) (and my other functions are extroverted thinking Te, introverted feeling Fi and extroverted intuition Ne, in that order). having high Si relates to me having a really good memory, and i trust what i've observed and experienced in the past to guide me in the present (as a comparison, people with extroverted sensing, or Se, are those people that live very in the moment and are really attuned to what is happening around them so are more inclined to spontaneity!). so in that sense i like that i have such a strong memory, and i think overall my functions contribute to me being as reliable as i am, but i'm definitely not as great at being flexible or going with the flow as sometimes i should be! there's definitely different strengths to each of the different types.

it can be a bit complicated to understand when you're first getting into it, especially when considering all the different functions and how they manifest at different positions - like i have Ne as my fourth/inferior function, but a person with Ne as their dominant or auxiliary (first or second) function (xNxP types) will use it very differently/more effectively than i can!! at the end of the day it's all for fun and i don't think it's the be-all-and-end-all of personality but i found that learning more about mbti really helped me understand myself and also appreciate how others approach and understand things differently to me!

Memories of their real life :

Teddy has no real memories of his parents, but that’s not to say he didn’t know them.  From an early age he remembers his grandmother and Uncle Harry telling him about his mom and dad, and how incredible they were.  How much they loved him and how they’d fought and died to make the world he lived in a better place.  The stories he was told about his grandfather, his namesake Ted and what a good man he was.  How much he He remembers the nervous looks he got occasionally when he was young, hie family watching for signs of lycanthropy and letting out a sigh of relief when there were none.  How they would smile when his hair changed color with his mood, or his eyes changed color to reflect theirs when he was happy to see them.  He remembers a happy childhood full of people who loved him, and cousins to grow up around, somewhat filling the loss he felt sometimes at not having his mother and father alive.  

When it came his time to go to Hogwarts, Teddy was pleased to be sorted into Hufflepuff, the same house as his mother.  He loved learning, but he really loved being around his classmates, a friendly boy and easy-going with most anyone.  There were still jerks at Hogwarts of course, but Teddy quickly learned that a prank or a smart retort was enough of a defense despite how much he wanted to punch some of the various kids who made sideways comments about his werewolf father.  Teddy got great marks in most all of his classes, and found he breathed a little easier when comments about him being smart like his father were made.  

While it was a lot, Teddy never got upset about being compared to his parents.  They were brilliant, and if he could be anything like them he would be.  But as he got older and the end of his career at Hogwarts started approaching he was realizing he had absolutely no idea what he wanted to do with his life.  And it had to be something important, right?  His parents had died so he could live free and do great things so, he couldn’t just be an aimless hobo.  It was something Teddy stressed about, and going into his last year at Hogwarts it just got worse, having no job he really wanted to go for.  He was still a stellar student, made Head boy in that last year, and if anyone asked what he was going to do after school he just said he was going to work for the Ministry. By the time he’d finished his time at Hogwarts, he just started taking every entrance exam he could possibly need for practically any job he could want, which was essentially just an extension of his schooling until he was approached to join the Unspeakables, just as an aide.  He’d shown enough intelligence and potential that they wanted him working in the Department of Mysteries, though no one would officially know that.  He’d be testing the boundaries of magic, and trying to understand it’s origins, at least once he was experienced enough.  It’d be nothing truly hands on for a few years, but it was too big of an opportunity to pass up. 

He didn’t particularly like not being able to talk about his job, or really about where he worked in general, just sticking with “the Ministry” excuse like he’d done in school.  However he didn’t really get time to adjust to it, having only been working for a few months when suddenly he woke up in Sydney with none of his family or loved ones, and a whole new world to navigate.

okay not that i’ve looked at job boards and grad job/internship etc descriptions at all lately (lmao whoops).... but what really irritates me when i look at them, no matter whether they’re for big companies (most of the time) or startups (another good bulk of the time)..... is the perks that they give for “millenials” or “gen z” to apply.

like don’t get me wrong, having a “birthday day off” perk is cool and all. so are fuseball tables and arcade games in your break room for lunch breaks. after work drinks are awesome too..... and let’s not forget that one job that i looked at once that was like “we have dogs (🐶) on the premises, so you better put your best petting hands (or should we say paws (🐾) ?? 😅) forward!!!!”. all of these perks are all well and good....

but what i, and many other millennials and gen zer’s really give a shit about is how companies treat their workers. will you actually pay us properly???? or not at all??? how will you actually react when someone actually wants to use their “birthday day off” perk??? will you end up wanting them in the office (or on shift, if it’s part-time job/casual job/internship) anyway, even when you’ve told them that they could have it off???? not that most of us would give a real shit. but some people probably would. but it’s obvs bc you’re always understaffed or always make the intern work back late, right????

i honestly don’t give a fuck about fuseball tables and arcade games tbh. but cool idea though. and the dogs are a great idea, but who looks after them??? okay probably the whole office (obvs) but like.... are they necessary??? or are you just using that as a lure for gullible and desperate uni students/graduates who’ll apply for absolutely anything to get their foot in the door, regardless of whether there’s dogs at their place of work or not?????

also on the “dog in the office” point, i find it kind of unnecessary to keep dogs couped up in an inner city office block in the middle of sydney or melbourne (for example). do you take them on walks during lunch breaks or something??? do you have an office animal department or some shit that takes care of the dogs???? just. i don’t get how it works.

like stop your cutesy “millennial perks” bs, HR departments, and actually realise that the biggest things that millennials and gen z actually give a fuck about are:

•their pay/wages (if they’re fair or not/if they’re actually paid at all/paid the correct rate), 

•their workers rights, if they have guaranteed hours (for casual and part time workers),

•have health insurance (okay that’s more for my american followers but whatever)

•their mental health if you’re overworking them

23 September 2020 will go down in the University of Sydney’s activist history books as the day students and staff successfully defied the New South Wales government’s anti-protest laws and resisted the Liberal Party’s attacks on universities.

Tertiary students and staff are facing major restructures pushed by the federal government and university administrations. Domestic fees for arts and communications degrees will double under the plan. Commerce, law, economics and other courses deemed of little immediate value to the economy will also be subject to significant fee hikes. Students who fail more than half their courses in their first year will be denied access to HECS loans, and government funding of higher education will decrease.

Meanwhile, university bosses are using the cover of the COVID-19 crisis to carry out mass sackings and force remaining staff to shoulder greater workloads. Sydney University has cut $93 million from its casual staffing budget since the crisis hit and has directed heads of faculty to aim for a 30 percent reduction in full-time staffing levels. The University of New South Wales has likewise announced 500 full-time job cuts.

Police have shut down four previous student demonstrations against these cuts, using the special COVID-19 measures as a pretext. Dozens of students have been fined, despite rally organisers implementing strict safety measures. Various tactics have been employed by students, including organising a “Footy against Fee Hikes” event, during which fewer than twenty students (the maximum number allowed under the current restrictions) gathered in a park to kick a ball around while chanting.

An Australian millionaire is offering one lucky person the chance to be his full time personal photographer - and he'll pay them $55,000 a year for the honour. 

Matthew Lepre, who is the founder of Ecom Warrior Academy, is searching for a photo taker to travel across Europe and the United States with him, uploading photos of the 27-year-old to social media.

'During the past year alone I have managed to grow my business while travelling to UAE, Indonesia, USA, NZ, Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland and Thailand and up until now, have relied on my best friend to be there to take photos on his phone,' Mr Lepre told FEMAIL.

'My business has now expanded rapidly and I need my mate, Mitch, to be there to work in other areas so I'm now putting the open call out to the world for someone to be there to fill this role.'

'The selected person for this role would need to be flexible with their life and be able to join me too, on my crazy schedule that could take me anywhere, anytime.'

All flights and accommodation abroad would be covered by Mr Lepre, but the photographer will be expected to have their own professional gear.

'It's crazy. I am still in shock and wonder how they even came past my CV,' Ms De Assis told News.com.au in October.

She applied for the job by sending her resume and cover letter across in an email, writing 'Most entertaining PA you will ever have' in the subject line.

Naturally it caught Mr Lepre's attention and he decided to offer her a phone interview, before cementing her position in his company in September.  

'Tyanna has experience working for CEOs and directors and is knowledgeable about social media,' Mr Lepre said

* Great at thinking on their feet while on the go. Often days when we are travelling require lots of tasks to be done at once - from confirming travel arrangements to finalising coaching meetings that I have with my clients via Skype - life on the road never stops.

BACKGROUND

 harlow grew up everywhere and nowhere all at once -- her father does international banking and investment while her mom is a famous actress/model who was always traveling for shoots so she stayed with her dad more often than not. but even he moved around a ton so she lived all over the world - milan, seoul, tokyo, sydney, paris. you name it. most of her childhood was spent being homeschooled by her nanny and chasing after her brother in their new hometowns.

around when she turned 14, her dad bought a family house in atlas city along the bay. her and her brother jason were able to finally put down roots in a city and make friends that they could actually keep. this is when she first met adrien, possibly her first best friend beyond her brother.

she went through high school and just kept her walls up -- figuring it was easier since it was only a matter of time before their dad decided to move them again. 

when jason went on to college (university of kyoto), harlow was absolutely crushed because he left her behind and she didn’t have anyone left in atlas city. she begged her dad to move them back to japan, but she was stuck in atlas city.

while traveling and moving around so much, harlow fell in love with food. she’s eaten so much street food, it’s insane. each place they lived, their father would hire a cook to keep the kids alive and they would each teach harlow how to cook in their local styles. this would inspire everything she would cook.

when she graduated high school, she didn’t go to college, but instead managed to get a job at a michelin star restaurant that gave her the training she would need to crack the food scene. during this time, she was living with adrien and she found herself falling in love -- something she didn’t expect at all. but he was her best friend and knew her better than anyone so everything made sense. so when she got pregnant, she was unbearably happy.

but then work became more demanding and she found herself missing out on both leo and adrien’s lives and that filled her with so much guilt and dread. rather than just continuing to hurt them, she decided it was best to remove herself from the equation entirely and moved to france to complete her formal culinary training.

now she’s back in atlas city to be close to her son. she opened a casual bakery/brunch/cafe place called beacon last year and it’s extremely successful. her donuts? insane. try the honeycomb one. but this year she has opened a more formal, fancy restaurant called hearth in the orchard district. she’s also looking to open a pizza place with roger so keep an eye out!

end of the day, harlow is a little competitive, mean, sharp, and cold. but she’s fiercely protective and passionate about what she does. sometimes you can spot the crack in her armor when she lets herself relax and be free.

her laughter sounds muffled and he knows she’s still on set, undoubtedly stubborn about both wanting to get the job done perfectly and getting it done quickly to be there for her son. “i’m good, ma. you know how i am,” shoving his hand in his pocket, he fights back a yawn, not wanting her to know he hasn’t slept yet. an unintentional all-nighter as he rethought his entire life, all the decisions he made, the road not taken, words left unsaid. he’s zoning out a little until his mother asks where he is and brows furrow as he brings his attention back to the call. “nah, i’m not home. why’d you say it like th— dad?” 

there’s no mistaking it, that’s his father standing in front of his door with the same carry-on luggage rome used to see him leave home with every other week when he was a kid. his mom’s words are rushed now but he gets that the gist of it all is: you met up with him so i’m going. with his mom at least in the same continent as him, he would’ve expected her at his doorstep a helluva lot sooner than he’d predict his father there. 

“uh, hey, dad,” he pauses, still more awkward with his father on his own than he is with the matriarch of the family. “why are you h—” arms wrap around him and his eyes widen, recalling the last time being a lot shorter, a lot less serious, and much more confusing. 

“let’s go inside. it was a long flight,” his dad looks more casual than he’s ever been and rome’s baffled, a bumbling mess again in front of his father. 

“uh, yeah. no, ‘course it was.”

the next morning, he wakes up to a home cooked breakfast and he wonders why his father is doing all this, why he’s here during one of the busier times of the year— that said, there’s not much of a slow period for his dad’s firm. 

“i’ve got a few meetings this morning but eat up and let’s go out for lunch, okay?” 

there’s still no clarity in sight but rome nods as he takes a few bites of scrambled egg, watching his dad casually leave as if this were their place back in sydney. he goes through what’s a semblance of a morning routine since he’s left sphere: morning jog, a shower, and texting a few of the guys about their plans today to see if he can lend a hand. seik is still the one least likely to answer him and he can’t blame the guy, especially when he’s upset over dabin too. today, he gets a response and he knows it’s because he mentioned his dad is in town and seik asks the same question rome has on his mind:

lunchtime comes just like that and he feels unproductive even though some of his previous students have arranged sessions with him. he worries about the paperwork but it’s all surface-level, nothing deep enough for him to be actually concerned, and he thinks he’s falling into a rut before anything happens. he doesn’t know if he has to dress up in business casual or not. the last time he met his father alone for lunch like this, it turned out to be an interview for university, the same one he got into back home, the one he turned down to come to seoul. 

getting ready as if he’s about to meet one of his students, he comes in slacks and a white button-up only to change in the end when his father texts that they’re gonna grab some food and take a walk around the neighborhood. some of the guys are already set-up in his studio when he leaves and he’s glad for a distraction from how much he’s missed since diving back into the idol industry. 

his dad’s got a bag of convenience store food with him when he catches up to him and rome hides his surprise behind his excitement that it’s some of his favorites. how his dad managed that, he’s got no idea. 

“so... what’s up, pa? got somethin’ on your mind?” better to get it over with now than later, he tells himself as he takes a bite into the shrimp tempura rice ball. damn delicious, he praises it in his mind before taking a longer look at his father. 

“i’m sorry i wasn’t there for you in the past.” 

‘course he ends up choking on such good food. 

“it’s alright,” his brows are heavily knit together and he has to wipe his hand on his jeans. “i mean, it’s in the past, ya’no.” 

his dad chuckles, shaking his head, and rome thinks they look awfully alike when his father does that. “you were too easy-going as a kid. you still are. that’s why i was surprised by how much of a fighter you are.” 

he doesn’t get it at first but he figures it must be referring to how stubborn he was about pursuing the arts. rome shrugs and he further proves his dad’s point right. 

“that’s how i knew you’d tell any of us it’s okay that you were kicked out of the group.” 

everything sounds muffled now, his heart’s in his throat by the way it’s closing up, and he avoids meeting his father’s gaze. 

“you grew up into a fine young man and i can’t take any credit for it.” 

“come on, pa. that’s not true,” and it’s not to him. his father taught him plenty, even if he wasn’t actually around for him most of the time. the taste in his mouth used to be bitter, metallic, when he thought of his relationship with his father but he never hated him. he couldn’t. he can’t. 

“you learned a lot on your own. you’re like your mother that way, learning by going out there and figuring things out by yourself. you’ve made sacrifices too. your mother made her own when she got married. when you kids were younger... she couldn’t go out on assignment as often and she loved you guys but i know she was upset with me. i told her my career was more stable, to let me work instead.” 

fragments of the arguments he used to hear his parents have make more sense as his dad continues but he doesn’t want him to know that he heard. he’s never once told either of his parents that he knows why his father had so much doubt when he was born. 

“she’s happier now with her career and it took me too long to see that. i don’t want to be late for you too. i know i have been,” he sighs, clapping a hand onto rome’s shoulder. “but not anymore so let’s talk, kiddo. your studio’s a mess.”

grandmother: jin okbin, deceased. a tough but loving woman, she helped raise joohyun and jooeun whenever her mother was away because of work. she helped instill confidence and morals into joohyun, and would support joohyun’s every whim, from vowing to become the prime minister of australia to wanting to reincarnate as a rock. jin okbin passed away in february of 2004 without ever discovering her daughter’s infidelities.

2: What color and style is your hair? Dark brown, naturally curly and up to my shoulders. I wear it half up half down with bangs usually!!

5: Do you wear braces? I think this is referring to the braces for ur teeth and not suspenders, but either way, no haha.

6: What is your fashion style? For work, I keep it casual with some leggings and a tshirt and Dr. Martens but for outside of work, I wear variations of skirts and band tees and sweaters and my Dr Martens go with every outfit so idk what that style would be called lmaooo

9: Where are you from and where do you live now? I’m from Tennessee, USA, and still live there now! 

10: What school do you go to? In August, I’ll start college at UT Martin.

11: What kind of student are you? I’m detailed oriented and love everything to have an order and structure, but I suck at studying haha 

12: Do you like school? I love having something to do throughout the week, but I don’t really like much else about school. When I graduated, I was so relieved lmao

14: Favorite TV shows? I’m currently obsessed with only watching SFX Channels on Youtube so I’ll tell you my favorite sfx youtubers instead lol: ElliMacsSfx, glamandgore, and jordan hanz. Actual tv tho, my favorite show is Supernatural & That 70′s Show & Friends sue me lol

15: Favorite movies? Buckle up boys this list is long(these are all movies i watch religiously and never get tired of): 13 Going on 30, Scooby Doo and the Spooky Island, Sydney White, Pan’s Labyrinth, Any of the Spy Kids movies, Monsters vs Aliens, Cars 3, and She’s the Man. This definitely isn’t all of them but I switch between all these movies to fall asleep to lolol

16: Favorite books? I haven’t sat down and read an actual book in so long, but one book I use to read a lot and really love is Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. 

17: Favorite pastimes? I love to sit and watch Youtube when I can, play guitar, and write. 

18: Do you have any regrets? I regret becoming a fangirl sometimes. It has consumed me every since Justin Bieber became famous, and it hasn’t stopped since. LOL. But seriously, no. I never put myself in situations I think that I’ll regret. And I’m not sure how to explain this next part but my friend and I always talk about regret. And so, I have a half naked girl tattooed on my arm and a lot of people think I’ll regret it, but I always tell them that even if I get older and regret that decision, I really wanted it at the time and loved it for so many years, so can I truly regret it? (SORRY i went on a tangent, i just feel things deeply and wanted to further explain why i don’t believe in regret hahahaha)

19: Dream job? My dream job is ultimately to become a well-established and famous singer/songwriter, BUT realistically, my dream job is a music producer! 

20: Would you like to be married someday? i think about this question a lot and the more i think about, no i don’t. like, i just want someone to spend my life with, yes, but i think marriage is dumb because it’s just a piece of paper and a ring. i want forever type shit without all the extraness. i don’t feel like marriage defines someones love for you and will to want to spend life with u if that makes any sense idk
