Sound on! Yesterday I posted this and you gave me feedback to improve it. So here is the new improved version!
I am a solo hobby dev from Australia making Mighty Marbles - a physics based marble game where you are the level. There is music in the game too but I turned it off so the SFX was clear!
Yesterday I posed this and got feedback the marble on plastic sounded a bit too much of a thud and the siren for the copter was a bit much so I tried to fix. Did I make it better?
If you want to find out more visit the steam page or web site. As a small indie every wishlist helps me get some visibility on steam!
I, admittedly, kinda suck at most games. Platforming AND shooting? Nope. I can't manage both. Precise dodge times for potential lethal shots? No way. Combat systems past 4 buttons? I'll just lay here, thanks.
But I love a good story. I can't write out how much I absolutely adore stories. I may not be a writer, but my stories run through my veins. Because of this contradiction, I often find myself looking at a game, playing the first 3 stages/chapters/bosses/etc, and setting it down because I suck absolute ass at it. I'm not "Can't get past the tutorial jump of Cuphead game journalist" bad, but I am "The hardest thing I managed in videogames was that I beat the first 3 stages of Cuphead on simple mode" bad.
Because of this, I OFTEN find myself watching plot synapses of the more story-based games that I picked up, enjoyed, and realized would only be able to beat in 5 years.
I'm also, however, of the opinion that games shouldn't necessarily have an easy mode. Games like Dark Souls would lose value if they catered towards people like me, and I've accepted that I will never be able to beat them. But that doesn't mean I don't dive into internet rabbit holes about the plot of Doom, even though I can't even beat level 5.
Creating new sims with my kid and I forgot how refreshing it is to open a new save, with new sims, new gameplay :) esp when I can do it with my fav little simmer 😌✨
Today, something amazing happened in my Sky adventures! I accidentally stumbled upon a floating glitch, and it's completely changed the way I explore this incredible world!
It's absolutely exhilarating to soar above the landscapes, experiencing the game from a whole new perspective. I can't wait to master this newfound ability and discover even more hidden treasures in Sky.
For those who have yet to find this glitch, keep exploring, and don't be afraid to try new things! You never know what incredible secrets you might uncover.
Happy glitching, and may your Sky adventures continue to amaze and inspire! 🌟
It started with a simple prototype just a few months ago, and now I have a cute physics based Marble game I just love to play!
A few months ago I made a crappy prototype of a game that didn't exist which I thought should exist. I shared it with reddit and it turned out people really loved the concept. Here I am today will a super fun family friendly game! My marble run contraption game, Mighty Marbles is going into early access Jan 9 2024. It based on classic games like screwball scramble and mouse trap but in a video game world.
Jazzi knows these streets like the back of her hand, but now that she's on her own, something feels different. Jazzi can't help but wonder if she has outgrown her home town, Is this really where she belongs?
Jazzi's dad surprised her by showing up for lunch. His sense of humor never failed to break through her deep thinking, something she was grateful for in that very moment.
After another excellent video from Stupendium I decided to pick up a new game. Fallen London. It's a free text-based browser game about a Steampunk themed London that falls deep underground (so deep hell is its literal neighbour) for no known reason. It's very Choose-Your-Own-Adventurey and it's loads of fun.
It's really funny in the beginning when it's asks for your sex. Instead of male-female-other it's lord-lady-why do you even care do you have nothing better to do, which is hilarious. You can choose how they address you too. I chose Madam. And of all the ways to start a story, they chose a prison break. XD
Seriously, I've only been here for a day and this game has been nothing less than an absolute delight. Just look at how much I've got done already. I know what I'll be doing from now on.
